  • This paper presents a neural network based self-tuning fuzzy PID control scheme for induction motor speed control. The PID controller is being widely used in industrial applications. When continuously used long time, the electric and mechanical parameters of induction motor change, degrading the performance of PID controller considerably. This paper re-analyzes the fuzzy controller as conventional PID controller structure, and proposes a neural network based self-tuning fuzzy PID controller whose scaling factors are adjusted automatically. Proposed scheme is simple in structure and computational burden is small. The simulation using Matlab/Simulink is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • Recently, the application of the linear machine far industrial field is remarkable increased, especially for the gantry machine, machine tool system and CNC. In these application fields, high dynamics position control performance Is essentially required in both the steady and the transient state. This pacer presents simple but powerful position control loop based on traditional PID controller. The presented position control algorithm, named 'Unified PID Position Controller'has great features for the linear machine drives such as no over-shoot phenomena and simple gain tuning strategy. Through the experimental results with commercial linear motors, it is shown that the proposed algorithm has excellent dynamics suitable fur linear motions.

  • This paper deals with the speed sensorless vector control of Induction motor using speed observer based on adaptive mathod. This system is modeled by using the system level simulator, Matlab/Simulink. The model consists of SVPWM Inverter Model. Induction Motor Model and speed obsever based on adaptive method. The results show the effectiveness of Matlab/Simulink in simulation of the Induction Motor.

  • The object of this work is to study the optimal control strategy of constant speed characteristics for a D.C control motor under influence of disturbance. In the course of the analysis, the linearization and time invariance schemes on motor dynamics are presumed throughout under certain prescribed conditions and the performance measure for optimality is assumed to be quadratic in state and the control effort, with the initial and final time specified. When the motor speed is deviated from a stationary operating point by any external disturbance, the optimal continuous feedback control law is investigated by the application of the calculus of variation and realizability of the required control meachanism is suggested. Finally, the comparative study of the speed reasponses of the motor, with and without the optimal control effort is also presented to confirm the obtained results.

  • This paper presents a adaptive speed controller for field oriented controlled (FOC) permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. However, achieving FOC requires machine specific knowledge, and tracking of drifting motor parameters in order to maintain control. The proposed controller based on Minimum Controller Syntheses (MCS) algorithm does not require exact knowledge of motor parameters. This controller structure simplifies the design and implementation of the adaptive controller requiring less effort to synthesis than a standard MRAC system. Simulation results using Matlab/Simulink show that the proposed controller has good dynamic performances and it is insensitive to parameter variations.

  • We proposed the speed control of the SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) for conveyance system by the decoupled thrust control. The voltage equations of SLIM are expressed on the suitable $\alpha-\beta$ axis by the proposed equivalent circuit, which can analyze the characteristics of the thrust and the normal force and so on. These control methods, which are the slip angular frequency control and the decoupling control for the thrust and normal force by analyzing these parameters can be successfully driven without interfering of each axis. These results exemplified the linear drive of SLIM with the reference value.

  • In this paper, a control method for field weakening region of induction machine drive which is based on indirect field oriented control was implemented. Also, application method of direct field oriented control in the field weakening region using maximum torque control methods which is adaptable for parking facilities was studied. The implemented method which is based on direct field oriented control method ensures the full utilization of the output torque capability of the machine over the conventional 1/${\omega}_r$ method. And machine drive system can obtain the robustness to motor parameter variation.

  • 본 논문에서는 2상 유도전동기의 가변속장치인 3-레그 2상 인버터의 PWM 방식을 공간벡터제어 방식으로 제안하였다. 기존의 3-레그 인버터의 PWM방식은 전형적인 SVPWM 방식을 적용하여 PWM 방식이 복잡하다. 본 논문에서는 3상 PWM 옵셋전압방식을 응용하여 2상 인버터에 적용하여 기존의 공간 벡터(space vector) PWM(SVPWM) 방식방식을 단순화 시킨 것이다. 제안된 3-레그 인버터의 PWM방식에 대한 타당성을 확인하기 위해 모의 실험과 실험이 실행되었다.

  • A direct model reference adaptive control (DMRAC) is applied to the speed control of brushless do(BLDC) motor. The main objective is to achieve precise speed control in the face of varying motor parameters and load. The control is described as an outer loop speed control and an inner current loop control which has raster dynamics than the speed loop. The adaptive control is applied to the outer speed control loop. DMRAC is compared to an indirect adaptive controller(IMRAC) and a PI controller. Simulation results show that the two adaptive controllers give similar respose and are superior to the PI controller. However, the DMRAC algorithm is simpler to implement.

  • The equivalent transformation of a brushless DC motor into an separately exited DC motor has been possible with the vector control technique. Vector control is an effective technique for controlling variable speed drives of brushless DC motors. Conventional vector controllers, however, suffer from electrical machine parameter variations because these controllers depend on the parameters. This paper presents the vector control of brushless DC motor using a neural network. In the proposed method, a neural network is employed as on-line estimator of the nonlinear dynamic equations of brushless DC motor. The neural network based vector controller has the advantage of robustness against machine parameter variations as compared with conventional vector controller The simulation results using Matlab/Simulink verify the useful of the proposed method.
