Application of the Robust and Reliability-Based Design Optimization to the Aircraft Wing Design (항공기 날개 설계를 위한 강건성 및 신뢰성 최적 설계 기법의 적용)

  • Using a deterministic design optimization, the effect of uncertainty can result in violation of constraints and deterioration of performances. For this reason, design optimization is required to guarantee reliability for constraints and ensure robustness for an objective function under uncertainty. Therefore, this study drew Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS) for the evaluation of reliability and robustness, and selected an artificial neural network as an approximate model that is suitable for MCS. Applying to the aero-structural optimization problem of aircraft wing, we can explore robuster optima satisfying the sigma level of reliability than the baseline.

  • The existing approaches for the music application have not considered a real-time multi-tasking model. So, it suffers from a high complexity and a low flexibility in design as well as lack of predictability for the timely execution of critical tasks. In this paper, we design a new concurrent tasking architecture for a real-time embedded music system and examine if all real-time tasks can finish execution within their respective time constraints. The design is implemented on the Linux based Xhyper272 Board that uses the Intel Bulverde microprocessor.

  • 기후변화에 적응하기 위해 많은 나라들이 수자원 관리 전략을 마련하고 있으며, 대체 수자원 활성화 방안에 관심을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 대체 수자원 활성화 방안 중 빗물 저류지의 용량 결정 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 빗물 저류지의 용량을 결정하기 위해 메타 휴리스틱 방법 중 하나인 입자 군집 최적화(particle swarm optimization; PSO)를 선정하였다. 이는 기존 실제 설계에 사용되고 있는 시행착오법보다 시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 최적화 모형은 python의 pyswarm package를 이용해 구성하였다. 모형의 입력자료는 저류지 유입량과 목표 공급량, 목표 보장률이고, 목적함수는 빗물 저류지 용량의 최소화이다. 제약조건은 모의된 보장률이 목표 보장률 이상을 달성하는 것이다. 여기서, 보장률은 전체 모의 기간 중 목표 공급량을 공급한 기간의 비율이다. 제시한 방법론의 적용성을 검토하기 위해 실제 저류지가 설계된 인천의 청라지구 1공구를 선정하여 적용하였다. 최적화 모형의 입력 유입량은 SWMM으로 산정된 1995년부터 2004년까지의 유출량이며, 목표 공급량은 실제 설계에 활용된 용수 목적별 요구 수량이다. 여기서 용수 목적별 요구 수량은 대상지역의 노면 청소수, 화장실 세정수, 호수 유지수 등이다. 산정 결과 계산 시간은 약 30초 소요되며, 목표 보장률을 만족하는 저류지 용량이 결정되었다. 본 연구에 제시한 방법은 제약조건이 추가되어도 기존 시행착오법에 비해 간편함을 확인하였다.

A Real-Time Scheduling Technique on Multi-Core Systems for Multimedia Multi-Streaming (다중 멀티미디어 스트리밍을 위한 멀티코어 시스템 기반의 실시간 스케줄링 기법)

  • Recently, multi-core processors have been drawing significant interest from the embedded systems research and industry communities due mainly to their potential for achieving high performance and fault-tolerance at low cost in such products as automobiles and cell phones. To process multimedia data, a scheduling algorithm is required to meet timing constraints of periodic tasks in the system. Though Pfair scheduling algorithm can meet all the timing constraints while achieving 100% utilization on multi-core based system theoretically, however, the algorithm incurs high scheduling overheads including frequent core migrations and system-wide synchronizations. To mitigate the problems, we propose a real-time scheduling algorithm for multi-core based system so that system-wide scheduling is performed only when it is absolutely necessary. Otherwise the proposed algorithm performs scheduling within each core independently. The experimental results by extensive simulations show that the proposed algorithm dramatically reduces the scheduling overheads up to as negligible one when the utilization is under 80%.

  • Most reservation systems make a reservation without customer's preference on-line. These reservation systems had problems not to improve customer's preference in modern society. To solve these problems, we have tried to apply these problems to complex scheduling technique. The scheduling technique for performing art reservation proposed in this thesis is based on object-oriented concepts. To consider the over all satisfaction, the events of every object are alloted to the sitting plan board along its priority. We have scheduled to rise customer's satisfaction in the performing art reservation.

  • Real-time application programs have synchronization constraints which need to be met between media-data. Synchronization method represents feedback method including virtual client-side buffer. This buffer is used in buffer level method. It is client-leading synchronization that is absorbing variable transmission delay time and that is synchronizing by feedback control. It is the important factor for playback rate and QoS if the buffer level is normal or not. To solve the problems, we can control the start of transmission in multimedia server by appling filtering, control and network evaluation function. Synchronization method is processing for smooth presentation without cut-off while media is playing out. When audio frame which is master media is in high threshold buffer level we decrease play out time gradually, otherwise we increase it slowly.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 차세대 대체에너지로 각광받는 풍력발전 중에서 육상발전보다 여러 가지 이점이 있는 한국형 해상풍력터빈 블레이드의 최적형상설계를 위한 알고리즘을 구현하는 것이다. 블레이드 단면 익형의 양력과 항력 분포는 XFOIL을 이용하여 예측하였다. 첫 번째 수준의 설계변수인 각각의 블레이드 지름과 축 회전수에서 익형의 공력변수들과 최소에너지손실 조건을 이용하여 두 번째 설계변수인 각 블레이드 단면에서의 시위길이와 피치각 분포를 최적화하였다. 그리고 성능결과를 바탕으로 반응면을 구성하고, 확률적 방법을 이용하여 타당성 있는 설계공간까지 첫 번째 설계변수를 이동시키고 구배최적화 기법을 통해 각각의 제약함수를 만족하면서 목적함수를 죄대로 하는 최적블레이드 형상을 구현하였다. 설계된 최적형상에 대해 탈설계점 해석을 수행하여 성능을 구하였다.

Computer Graphic Animation based on Forward Dynamic Simulation (Forward Dynamic 시뮬래이션을 이용한 컴퓨터 그래픽 애니매이션)

  • This paper present a new technique for doing realistic computer animation. The method is based on forward dynamic simulation and nonlinear problem solving (parameter optimization) technique. Objects are modelled physically and simulated faithfully while satisfying kinematic and geometric constraints. This forward dynamic simulation gives us very realistic motions especially for non-voluntary motions. Then we extend simulation technique to do animation using parameter optimization. The basic idea is to add motion control over the entire animation. The motion control is finding optimal solutions while satisfying user's animation goals. We provide two different animation technique; one is for rigid body without joint actuators and the other is for rigid body with linear joint actuators. To achieve motion control, we convert single simulation to single nonliner function evaluation while either setting initial conditions as variables for the function or allocating control variables in terms of time. This method is presented with two animation examples: dice-magic and human stand-up.

An Offloading Decision Scheme Considering the Scheduling Latency of the Cloud in Real-time Applications (실시간 응용에서 클라우드의 스케줄링 지연 시간을 고려한 오프로딩 결정 기법)

  • Although mobile device-related technologies have developed rapidly, many problems arising from resource constraints have not been solved. Computation offloading that uses resources of cloud servers over the Internet was proposed to overcome physical limitations, and many studies have been conducted in terms of energy saving. However, completing tasks within their deadlines is more important than saving energy in real-time applications. In this paper, we proposed an offloading decision scheme considering the scheduling latency in the cloud to support real-time applications. The proposed scheme can improve the reliability of real-time tasks by comparing the estimated laxity of offloading a task with the estimated laxity of executing a task in a mobile device and selecting a more effective way to satisfy the task's deadline.

  • In this paper, we proposed an efficient cache hoarding method in mobile computing environments using collaborative filtering. This method is used for solving the difficult problem of mobile computing, which is the vacuum of information service depending on low bandwidth, long delay, and frequent network disconnection. Many previous researches have been studied a cache hoarding approach for solving these problems of mobile client. But, the research of history information of mobile client did not support all informative requests for mobile clients. In our research, collaborative filtering model using history information and location data of mobile client is proposed. This proposed model supports an efficient service of necessary items for client's requirement. For the performance evaluation of proposed model, we make an experiment of simulation data using SAS enterprise miner. According to objective evaluation using cache hit ratio, we show that our model has a good result.
