KOREATECH has introduced a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in engineering education of Korea since 2012. In order to evaluate and improve the IPP program, the IPP Center of KOREATECH has developed a comprehensive performance evaluation scheme on the basis of the Kirkpatrick's four stage performance evaluation model for training programs. This study aimed to analyze student questionnaire survey data from the IPP performance evaluation scheme, which was acquired before and after IPP terms in 2013 and measured students' perceptions on the five aspects of major competencies, non-major competencies, perception of and satisfaction with the IPP program and attitudes to occupation. The findings showed that the IPP program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the IPP program were discussed.

This study involved an investigation of prospective elementary teachers' preconceptions and experiences of diagrams and their ability to draw diagrams in solving math word problems. A questionnaire and two math word problems were administered to prospective elementary teachers who began to taking an introductory mathematics education course. The results from the analysis of their responses to the questionnaire items indicate that prospective elementary teachers appreciate the value of diagrams as tools for problem solving and communication. In addition, prospective elementary teachers have the will not only to teach their future students how to use diagrams but also to encourage them to draw diagrams in solving math word problems. However, the results also indicates that prospective elementary teachers neither use diagrams spontaneously in their math problem solving activities nor have confidence in drawing useful diagrams. Prospective elementary teachers also manifested low scores on the questionnaire items asking whether they were taught how to draw useful diagrams or encouraged by their teachers to use diagrams in their previous learning experiences. The results from the analysis of the diagrams that prospective elementary teachers drew in solving math word problems showed that most of them had difficulty drawing diagrams that represent their reasoning and solving process.

The year 2003 is the centennial of the birth of the modem lighthouse in Korea the lighthouse was originally surrounded by a beautiful nature and it contains the romantic sensitivity which relates with the ocean. And in some case it is a environment-friendly architectural facility which uses a alternative energy like a solar cell. Now the properly developed manned lighthouse is not only functioning as a traditional aids to navigation for the vessel, but also it becomes the new facility and space for all civilians who might visit and experience. If we want to vitalize the traditional lighthouse into water-familiar space, we must reconsider the facilities, various operational programs and the institutions for future-oriented development. For this situation we intended to reveal in this study that all the issues which relate to the proper use of the manned lighthouses in the whole country, since the project of water-familiar space started by MOMAF.

In this study, literatures concerning the scientifically gifted/talented were identified through exploration of ERIC(Education Research Information Center) and then categorized. Existing educational programs for the scientifically gifted/talented were analyzed to aid in development and progress of education program of the scientifically gifted/talented. The followings are the results of this study 1. Exploration of ERIC from 1981 to 1997 showed 150 documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and of those found there were 63 scientifically gifted/talented education program documents which accounts for 42.0%. 2. 42.0% of documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and 65.1% of education program for the scientifically gifted/talented were in the publication type of journal articles. 3. 60.0% of documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and 68.3% of education program for the scientifically gifted/talented were in the type of paper of reports. 4. 71.4% of education programs for the gifted/talented was centered around scientifically gifted/talented students in middle or high school. 5. 52.4% of education programs for the scientifically gifted/talented was being carried out as an supplementary enrichment education program such as summer programs or short term projects. Education programs for the scientifically gifted/talented carried out as a regular class accounted for 38.1%. 6. Systems like Mentorship System and Internship System is being well carried out due to good interrelationships between universities and institutions. There were many programs encouraging majors and careers in science related fields. 7. Individualized education, which is effective in teaching the scientifically gifted/talented whose abilities, interests, and attitudes differ, is being well carried out.

The purpose of this study is to find that people's visit to a dementia home exhibition hall is effective at improving their perception of dementia. The satisfaction of visitors to the dementia home exhibition hall and a change in their perception of dementia after the visit were analyzed. The study subjects were 52 residents in S city. This study had been conducted from April, 5 to May, 25, 2018. The dementia home exhibition hall has welfare kits installed in an entrance, a rest room, a living, and a kitchen. Virtual reality experience program and the program of wearing clothes to experience an elderly person were performed together. As a result, the visitors' satisfaction was high overall, and their visit was educationally effective at improving their perception of dementia. After their visit to the hall, the residents showed high increases in the scores of the questions about the perception of dementia causes, dynamism & system, symptoms & diagnosis, and treatment & prevention. The residents with middle years and higher of age were more satisfied than those in other age groups with the introduction of dementia, and prevention methods, introduction of safe and comfortable home environment, and appropriateness of experience program. In this study, it was positive that the differentiated experience program which was not existed actively led the participation of the target person and attracted high education satisfaction in a short time. In the future, it will be necessary to develop an extended experience program, provide an environment for direct experience of dementia, and perform a continuous program to draw more citizens' attention.
