Boundary Noise Removal and Hole Filling Algorithm for Virtual Viewpoint Image Generation (가상시점 영상 생성을 위한 경계 잡음 제거와 홀 채움 기법)

  • In this paper, performance improved hole-filling algorithm including boundary noise removing pre-process which can be used for an arbitrary view synthesis with given two views is proposed. Boundary noise usually occurs because of the boundary mismatch between the reference image and depth map and common-hole is defined as the occluded region. These boundary noise and common-hole created while synthesizing a virtual view result in some defects and they are usually very difficult to be completely recovered by using only given two images as references. The spiral weighted average algorithm gives a clear boundary of each object by using depth information and the gradient searching algorithm is able to preserve details. In this paper, we combine these two algorithms by using a weighting factor ${\alpha}$ to reflect the strong point of each algorithm effectively in the virtual view synthesis process. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm performs much better than conventional algorithms.

  • 본 연구는 자유수면형 인공습지에서의 시기적인 중금속 제거율의 변동을 평가하기 위하여 수행되었다. 대상 인공습지의 유입수는 하수처리수가 포함된 하천수이다. 인공습지에는 갈대 (Phragmites australis)와 부들 (Typha latifolia)이 주로 분포하며, 이들 두 종은 습지의 95 % 이상을 차지하는 우점종이다. 2009년 5월부터 9월까지 습지의 유입과 유출부분에서 유입수와 유출수를 시료 채취하였다. 채취된 시료는 ICP-AES 방법을 이용하여 6가지 중금속을 분석하였으며, 위해성 평가를 이용하여 카드뮴 (Cd), 크롬 ($Cr^{+6}$), 비소 (As), 납 (Pb), 니켈 (Ni), 구리 (Cu)의 분석 결과를 평가하였다. 위해성평가는 농부와 레크리에이션에 대한 두가지 시나리오를 바탕으로 이루어졌다. 연평균 중금속 제거율은 계절적인 변화 측면에서 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 위해성 평가 결과 시료가 채취된 부분 및 계절적인 변화 대부분에서 US EPA의 기준인 $10^{-4}$를 초과하지 않는 수준으로 허용가능한 수준이었다. 하지만, 봄철 농부에 대한 위해성평가 결과 위해도가 $10^{-4}$ 수준이며, $10^{-6}-10^{-8}$ 수준은 질병의 이동이 우려되는 수준 (US EPA)임을 감안하여, 인공습지에 중금속 농도 저감 시설의 설치를 고려해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 위해성 평가를 가상의 시나리오에 적용하여 평가를 시도함으로서, 수치적인 자료로 제시할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 중금속의 정량적인 평가를 수행할 수 있었다. 따라서 위해성 평가는 인공습지의 안전성에 대하여 대중과 소통할 수 있는 도구로서 이용할 수 있으며, 인공습지의 효율적인 운영 및 현장 적용에 있어서 스크리닝 도구로서의 역할이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Dental Health Status and Knowledge of the Volunteers in Practice for Oral Prophylaxis (치면세마실습 대상자의 구강건강수준과 구강보건지식에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this survey research was to investigation the relationship among dental health state, care and knowledge of patients who participate in dental hygiene process of dental hygiene students voluntarily. And the following conclusion were obtained from questionnaires for 266 volunteers using SPSSWIN 12.0. 1. For the dental health state according to sex distinction, it showed that women (DMFT index: 13.0) was higher than men (DMFT index: 10.4) and statistically significant difference. For DT rate, men (32.0) was higher than women (30.0), for MT rate men (32.2) was higher than women (26.6) and it showed statistically significant difference (P<0.05). 2. For the dental health knowledge according to sex distinction, 77.8% patients replied as the food causing teeth decay are chocolate, biscuits, etc. and it didn't showed significant difference statistically. 72.4% men and 84.7% women replied as they could take precautions against a dental caries using fluorine and it showed statistically significant difference(P<0.05). 3. For brushing their teeth from top to down for the upper tooth and from down to top for the lower one, 80.3% patients replied as they did like that but 62.5% patients as they didn't. And 68.2% patients replied as the food causing teeth decay arc chocolate, biscuits, etc. and 81.0% patients didn't like that. It showed statistically significant difference. (P<0.05) 4. 50.5% patients went to the dental hospital once per 6 month and it showed statistically significant difference. And 71.3% patients replied as the food causing teeth decay are chocolate, biscuits, etc. and 81.0% patients didn't like that, It showed statistically significant difference. (P<0.05)

A Morphological Study on the Granulosa Cell Apoptosis and Macrophages during Follicular Atresia in Pig Ovary (돼지난소에서 난포폐쇄시 과립층세포의 아포토시스와 대식세포에 관한 형태학적 연구)

  • It is known widely that granulosa cell apoptosis leads follicular atresia and macrophages exert their effects directly and/or indirectly from the initiation to the completion of follicular atresia by phagocytosis of apoptotic bodies and secretion of various cytokines. However, the site of initiation, propagation routes and the elimination methods of apoptotic bodies, and the time and methods of penetration of macrophages into the follicles are not known completely. Using pig(Yorkshire-breed) ovary, immunohistochemical studies with TUNEL for apoptotic bodies and pig macrophage monoclonal antibody 4E9 for macrophages, and light and transmission electron microscopic observations were performed. In the pig, follicular atresia began with the granulosa cell apoptosis, and the apoptosis of theca intema cells occured at the same time. The apoptosis of granulosa cells initiated randomly within the granulosa cell layer and propagated rapidly into the whole layer. Ultrastructura1ly, apoptotic granulosa cells showed characteristic pyknotic and deformed nucleus and intracytoplasmic vesicles. Apoptotic bodies were eliminated by intact granulosa cells and macrophages. Intact granulosa cells ingested apoptotic bodies transiently, soon after they fell into the apoptosis. Finally, apoptotic bodies and degenerated oocyte were phagocytosed by macrophages. Macrophages entered the ovarian follicle at the time of initiation of granulosa cell apoptosis, and migrated with the progression of apoptosis. By elimination of theca cells, macrophages contributed the completion of follicular atresia These results will provide valuable informations on the study of the interrelation between macrophage and ovarian follicular atresia.

Fruit Quality of Rabbiteye Blueberry as Affected by Manual Floral Buds Thinning (블루베리 인력적화 시기와 방법이 과실특성에 미치는 영향)

  • BACKGROUND: Increase in the ratio of small berries in blueberry production decreases the farmers' profits due to weakening market competitiveness and lowering harvest efficiency. One of the reasons for increased small berries is over fruit-load. For improving productivity and competitiveness of blueberry in Korea, hand-thinning can be applied to increase fruit quality before the developing adequate chemical thinning methods. This study was conducted to investigate the proper timing and methods for floral buds thinning in rabbiteye blueberry. METHODS AND RESULTS: Eight years old bushes of rabbiteye bluberries 'Brightwell' as a primary cultivar and 'Powderblue' as a pollinizer were used for this study. Fruit size distribution by leaf-to-fruit ratio was investigated by counting the number of leaves and fruits in canes of 127 'Brightwell' plants whose fruit set varied. Fifty percent of flowers/floral buds were removed in four different floral buds stages such as bud swell, late pink bud, full bloom, and petal fall, and the consumed time for thinning and fruit characteristics were recorded to investigate the effect and proper timing of floral buds thinning. Fruit weight and soluble solids content tended to increase in proportion to leaf-to-fruit ratio and the production of the number of fruits less than 13 mm in diameter decreased when leaf-to-fruit ratio was more than 2.5. Manual floral buds thinning by hands was fastest in full bloom stage and slowest in bud swelling stage. In all cultivars, fruit size was significantly smaller in non-thinning treatment than thinning, and there was, however, no significant difference in total fruit yield. The number of fruits less than 13 mm in diameter increased in both cultivars as floral buds thinning was delayed. Consumed time for picking 90% berries out of total berries per bush was shortest in full bloom stage thinning in 'Brightwell' and bud swelling, full bloom thinning in 'Powderblue'. These were 25 and 20 days faster than no thinning, respectively. CONCLUSION: Although the effect of floral buds thinning varied depending on the cultivars, our results confirmed that floral buds thinning was effective for the early intensive harvesting and the increase of the large fruit ratio and the harvesting productivity. Also, in order to increase thinning efficiency, it is recommended to remove the flower buds before the full bloom stage.

Evaluation of Experimentally Induced Lumbar Spinal Cord Injury by Somatosensory Evoked Potentials(SEPs) in Dogs (개에서 Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEPs)을 이용한 척수기능장애의 평가)

  • Changes in somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) which accompanied by insertion of foreign body in spinal canal were evaluated with clinical signs and positive contrasted myelography in dogs. Foreign bodies occupied 20∼50% of spinal canal. Foreign bodies occupying about 50% of spinal canal were inserted into the animals of group II and III for 1 week and 2 days, respectively. Foreign bodies occupying about 20% of spinal canal were inserted into the animals of group IV, V, and for 1 week, 2 days, and 8 weeks, respectively. in group I (control group), sham operation (lateral laminectomy) was performed. Group III, IV and V did not severely affect on SEPs latencies and clinical signs. Group VI affects on SEPs latencies but not on clinical signs. After foreign body removal, SEPs latencies showed similar recovery patterns with clinical signs. However, group II induced severe abnormalities in SEPs latencies and clinical signs. In group III, IV and V, thoracic potentials (TN1) were abnormally recorded after foreign body insertion and firstly/normally recorded on the 6th 9.5th and 3.5th day after foreign body (removal following) insertion. In group VI, TN1 was abnormally recorded after foreign body insertion and firstly recorded on the 7.7th day and normally recorded on 34th day after foreign body insertion. In group I, TN1 was not recorded from the 3rd day after foreign body insertion and until the 8th week after foreign body removal. In group I, TN1 was firstly recorded on the 1st day after laminectomy.

  • 석탄중에는 미량원소(trace elements)가 포함되어 있으며 이들의 농도는 석탄의 종류나 산지에 따라 크게 다르다. 석탄중의 미량원소를 제거하는 것은 그동안 크게 문제가 되지 않았으나 최근 환경문제가 점차 고조되면서 이에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 일반적으로 사람의 건강 및 환경에 유해한 원소중에서 화석연료 사용과 관련이 있는 원소는 비소(As), 카드늄(Cd), 납(Pb), 구리(Cu), 수은(Hg), 니켈(Ni), 셀레니움(Se) 및 아연(Zn) 등 8개 원소이다. 그러나 그외에도 배출규제의 대상이 되는 원소는 코발트(Co), 염소(Cl), 안티모니(Sb), 베릴리움(Be), 크롬(Cr)과 망간(Mn)이며 이중 망간은 석탄사용과 직접적인 관련이 있다. 따라서 Mn을 포함한 9개 원소가 석탄의 사용에 따른 중금속 방출과 관련이 있는 것으로 간주되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 발전용 석탄에 대한 물리적 전처리 공정을 적용하여 석탄중의 광물질등을 미리 제거하므로서 연소 후 배출되는 배기가스중의 중금속 저감 가능성을 관찰하였다. 본 연구결과 전처리 공정의 석탄중의 Trace elements양을 감소시키므로서 연소 후 중금속의 배출량을 크게 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다. 발전소에 적용하고 있는 ESP가 배출가스중 As, Cu, Zn, Mn등의 중금속을 제거하는데 효율적이기는 하나 가스상으로 존재하는 Hg, Se등을 제거하는데는 효율적이지 못하다. 전처리공정 전후 회분중에 함유된 미량원소를 분석한 결과, 국내 무연탄이나 해외 유연탄 모두 중금속 제거에 있어서 유사한 경향을 보여주었으며, Pb, Zn, Mn 등은 50∼70%, 특히 Hg 배출량은 80% 이상 저감이 가능하였다. 전반적으로 년간 총 중금속 배출량도 50∼60%가 감소하여 전처리 공정이 석탄중의 중금속을 줄이는데 크게 기여함을 확인하였다.을 선택할 수 있는 메뉴 그리고 계산 결과를 파일로 혹은 프린트로 출력할 것을 선택할 수 있는 메뉴가 있다. 사용자는 해당되는 데이타를 입력한후 마우스로 원하는 작업의 메뉴를 선택하면 된다. 방법을 타액과 혈청내 testosterone 농도 측정에 응용하여 RIA의 결과와 비교하여 본 바 상관관계가 타액에서 r=0.969, 혈청에서 r=0.990으로 두 결과가 잘 일치하였다. 본 실험에서 측정된 한국인 여성의 타액내 testosterone농도는 107.7$\pm$12.0 pmol/l이었고, 남성의 타액내 농도는 274.2$\pm$22.1 pmol/l이었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 본 연구에서 정립된 EIA 방법은 RIA를 대신하여 소규모의 실험실에서도 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사려된다.또한 상실기 이후 배아에서 합성되며, 발생시기에 따라 그 영향이 다르고 팽창과 부화에 관여하는 것으로 사료된다. 더욱이, 조선의 ${\ulcorner}$구성교육${\lrcorner}$이 조선총독부의 관리하에서 실행되었다는 것을, 당시의 사범학교를 중심으로 한 교육조직을 기술한 문헌에 의해 규명시켰다.nd of letter design which represents -natural objects and was popular at the time of Yukjo Dynasty, and there are some documents of that period left both in Japan and Korea. Survey of Recognition on Periodontal Health Inpatients of Some Dental Clinics in Geoje (거제지역 치과 내원환자의 치주 건강에 관한 인식도 조사)

  • The following are the results of questionnaire research targeting 213 people at 4 dental clinics in Geoje region in order to examine recognition on the periodontal health in Inpatients of dental clinic. 1. In the item of recognition on periodontal health, the patients, who know about whether or not recognizing periodontal disease, were indicated to be 62.9%. Women were knowing better than men. The significant difference by gender was indicated(p < .01). As for a route of acquiring information on periodontal disease, a case of obtaining via television and internet was surveyed to be 31.6%. As for recognition on frequency of tooth scaling, a case of recognition as saying of the necessity of doing once a year was indicated to be 43.7%. The significant difference was indicated depending on job and academic background(p < .001). 2. As for the periodontal-health status, the patients of recognizing that the condition in the gums is mostly healthy were indicated to be 75.1%. The more professional job led to showing the significant difference depending on occupation(p < .001). As for a reason for a visit to dentistry, a case of visiting due to smell in the mouth was indicated to be 18.1%. As for kinds of dental treatment, the patients. who received the tooth scaling by visiting a dental clinic. were the largest with 46.5%. The significant difference was indicated depending on job(p < .01), academic background(p < .05), And monthly income(p < .001).

Characteristics of Organic Material Removal and Electricity Generation in Continuously Operated Microbial Fuel Cell (연속류식 미생물연료전지의 유기물 제거 및 전기 발생 특성)

  • Two types of microbial fuel cells(MFC) were continuously operated using synthetic wastewater. One was conventional two-chambered MFC using proton exchange membrane(PEM-MFC), the other was upflow type membraneless MFC(ML-MFC). Graphite felt was used as a anode in PEM-MFC. In membraneless MFC, two MFCs were operated using porous RVC(reticulated vitreous carbon) as a anode. Graphite felt was used as a cathode in all experiments. In experiment of PEM-MFC, the COD removal rate based on the surface area of anode was about $3.0g/m^2{\cdot}d$ regardless of organic loading rate. And the coulombic efficiency amounted to 22.4~23.4%. The acetic acid used as a fuel was transferred through PEM from the anodic chamber to cathodic chamber. The COD removal rate in ML-MFC were $9.3{\sim}10.1g/m^2{\cdot}d$, which indicated the characteristics of anode had no significant effects on COD removal. Coulombic efficiency were 3.6~3.7 % in both cases of ML-MFC experiments, which were relatively small. It was also observed that the microbial growth in cathodic chamber had an adverse effects on the electricity generation in membraneless MFC.

병해충 방제 - 소나무류 잎의 병해: 잎떨림병, 잎녹병

  • 지난 호의 소나무류 가지마름성 병해에 이어 이번 호에서는 소나무류 잎마름성 병해를 소개한다. 소나무의 잎에서 나타나는 잎마름성 병해는 증상과 원인이 다양하여 정확한 원인을 밝히기가 매우 어렵다. 그 이유는 수목의 이상 증상은 기본적으로 1) 비기생성(생리적, 비점염성) 원인, 2) 기생성(생물적, 전염성) 원인에 의하여 발생하는데, 진단 결과에 따라 수목의 재배환경을 점검하고 개선하여야 할 문제인가(비기생성 원인), 또는 약제를 사용하여야 할 것인가(기생성 원인)를 먼저 결정하여야 한다. 그 이유는 피해 원인이 물, 온도, 제초제 등 비기생성 원인에 의한 것이라면 재배환경의 개선 또는 원인 제거만으로도 충분히 나무를 회복시킬 수 있고, 병원균에 의한 것이라면 정확한 병명 진단 후에 적용 약제를 적절한 시기에 살포하여 불필요한 농약의 사용을 줄이면서 효과적으로 방제할 수 있기 때문이다. 수목의 잎에서 흔히 나타나는 이상 증상은 다음과 같이 비기생성 원인과 기생성 원인을 포함하여 크게 세 가지로 구별할 수 있으며, 기본적인 진단 요령과 원인은 다음과 같다.
