This study investigated the quality characteristics and antioxidant activity of muffins prepared with different amounts (0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%) of aronia powder. The moisture content was higher in the groups that contained aronia powder than in the control muffin. The specific volume of the muffins was lowest in the group with 15% aronia powder added. The lightness and yellowness values decreased, while the redness values increased with increasing amounts of the aronia powder. The hardness of the control group was lower than that of the 10% and 15% treatment groups. The consumer acceptance test revealed no significant differences in the taste and texture of the muffin samples, but the overall acceptability scores were lowest for the muffins with 15% aronia powder added. The substitution of wheat flour for the aronia powder yielded muffins with a higher polyphenol content and total flavonoid content. The antioxidant activity measured via the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity, metal chelating effect, and reducing power increased as the concentration of the aronia powder increased. The results showed that up to 10% aronia powder can be incorporated into muffins to meet the sensory quality and functional needs of consumers.

Generally, durability of concrete structures under marine environment is grossly declined by detrimental ions such as chlorides, which penetrate concrete and was diffused to corrode reinforcing rod. Therefore, chloride diffusion properties in concrete are important for durability evaluation and design of concrete structure. For estimation of chloride diffusion coefficient in concrete, both evaluation methods are used for steady state and non-steady state derived from Fick's 1st and 2nd law, respectively. However, as it is very difficult to evaluate diffusion coefficient for non-steady state like service environment where concrete is actually exposed, indirect evaluation method by laboratory accelerated test is generally used. In this study, comparison of chloride diffusion behavior was investigated for fixed mix proportion and age of concrete using four accelerated test methods based on domestic and foreign standards. From test results, only relative comparison between concrete mixtures was possible using ASTM C 1202 test, and diffusion coefficient for steady state was estimated as low as 1/10 of that for non-steady state. In addition, diffusion coefficient estimated by immersion test was similar to result by NT build 492 test.
The effect of ultrasonification on immuno-stimulatory activities of the extracts from Ephedra sinica Stapf and Rubus coreanus Miq. was observed by the growth of human immune cells. The extraction yields from water extracts and water extract with ultrasonification at 40$^{\circ}C$, 60$^{\circ}C$ and 100$^{\circ}C$ were compared. The highest yield was observed enhancement ratio 2.34% in the extract at 40$^{\circ}C$ with ultrasonification. The growth of human T-cell was increased up to 13.8${\times}$10$^4$ viable cells/$m\ell$ in adding 1.0 g/L of the ultrasonification extracts. The treated extracts increased the specific secretion of TNF-${\alpha}$ up to 10.5${\times}$10$\^$-4/ pg/cell. It was suggested that of the extracts on water the extraction yield with ultrasonification compared improved the extraction with ultrasonification of low than.
The objective of this study was to assess the quality characteristics of yanggaeng prepared with different ratios of blueberry powder: 0%, 3%, 6%, and 9%. The moisture content of the control yanggaeng was lower than that of any other blueberry added groups. The pH decreased while the titratable acidity and the Brix increased as the amount of blueberry powder increased. The lightness (L) and yellowness (b) were the highest while the redness (a) was the lowest in the controls. Texture profile analysis showed that the hardness of the added groups were higher than that of the control which were the lowest. The total polyphenol content and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity increased as the amount of blueberry powder increased. The results of consumer acceptance test revealed that the color preference was the highest in the 9% added group while the smell, taste, texture and the overall acceptability showed no significant differences groups. Based on these results, it is suggested that yanggaeng with up to 9% added blueberry powder can be developed as products without adverse effects on sensory characteristics.
Previous studies showed that epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG) have substantial effects of suppressing the N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine(MNNG)-initiated cell transformation process on the bases of foci formation frequency and loss of anchorage dependency. In this study we tried to clarify the molecular mechanism of suppressing the cell transformation process. Mouse cell line balb/c 3T3 A31-1-1 was exposed 2 days to MNNG followed by 15 days 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate(TPA) treatment for our transformation process. EGCG was added after the time point of 24 hours exposure to TPA and incubated for 19 days. 2029 genes were selected in our transformation process that showed fold change value of 1.5 or more in the microarray gene expression analysis covering the mouse full genome. These genes were found to be involved mainly in the cell cycle pathway, focal adhesion, adherens junction, TGE-$\beta$ signaling, apoptosis, lysine degradation, insulin signaling, ECM-receptor interaction. Among the genes, we focused on the 631 genes(FC>0.5) reciprocally affected by EGCG treatment. Our study suggest that EGCG down-regulate the gene expressions of up stream signaling factors such as nemo like kinase with MAPK activity and PI3-Kinase, Ras GTPase and down stream factors such as cyclin D1, D2, H, T2, cdk6.
The purpose of this study is to develop a STEAM program based on reverse engineering. To achieve the purpose of this study, STEAM program was developed on the subject of autonomous vehicle. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The program was developed based on STEAM program development model based on reverse engineering. Developed in a five step procedure (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) with the subject of autonomous vehicle. First, in the analysis step, we explored the definition, goal, content area, and teaching and learning methods of STEAM based on reverse engineering. We extracted the goals and content areas to be included in the educational program. Second, in the design step, topics were selected through consultation with experts. At this time, based on the linkage between the 2015 revised curriculum and the STEAM curriculum, we selected and organized educational goals and learning contents. Third, in the development step, we developed a teacher 's guidebook and student' s textbook, and applied the program to 71 students in the second grade of OO middle school in Seoul. Fifth, at the evaluation stage, the evaluation was made by experts and students based on the program that was implemented, and revised and supplemented based on the results.
Under the production system of a free market economy, the modern consumers'goods that feature current trends reveal diverse aspects of the whole society and culture. This phenomenon is progressing at such a rapid speed that theories can barely keep up to explain it dearly. It is believed that the reason for the lag in academic theories is the formation of pluralistic values in human lifestyles due to the development of science and information communication. The pluralism of values in contemporary society is being studied in many academic fields, and the design among these fields often sees such a phenomenon as one of the post-modernism concepts, where post-modernism suggests a diversification and dismantling of modernism. In other words, the current design is closely watching products that are totally different from existing products, from complex and conceptual outcomes in the field of design to products that reflect various trends. Thus, it is true that package design, which proactively reflects current trends, freely traverses among specific domains of various fields that have been determined tacitly. It is also believed that other fields are also reflecting the same developments. Such a phenomenon is strikingly revealed with so-called 'fancy products', while other products 'parody' package design. This study sees the phenomenon as dismantling the border between product design and package design. The examined package design reflects the broader characteristics of the times, based on current concepts and meanings, after reviewing design examples.

This study is characterized the groundwater flow pattern near crystalline site of Yangbook-Myeon, Gyeong-ju City, South Korea. From the time series analyses, groundwater level could be classified into 4 types reflecting the hydrogeological characteristics and rainfall pattern. The type I (DB1-1, DB1-2) may be directly influenced by rainfall pattern. The type II (DB1-3, DB1-7, KB-1, KB-2, KB-3, KB-7, KB-14, KB-15) may be influenced by rainfall event as well as groundwater flow through water-conducting features. The type III (DB-5, DB1-6, DB2-2, KB-10, KB-11, KB-13) may be predominantly happens in the crystaline rock mass, groundwater in this type flows through the minor fracture networks rather than direct effect of rainfall event. The type IV (DB1-8, KB-9) may be influenced by irregular variation of the groundwater level due to anisotropy and heterogeneity of crystalline rock.
The surgical management of acute type B dissection is controversial. The complexity of the repair usually requires a period of aortic cross-clamping exceeding 30 minutes, which can cause ischemic injury of the spinal cord. Several forms of distal perfusion have been considered for use to prevent this injury. To determine the safety and efficacy of a graft replacement with cardiopulmonary bypass in reparing acute dissection of descending thoracic aorta, we retrospectively reviewed our surgical experience treating 8 patients who had aortic dissection secondary to atherosclerosis, trauma, and carcinoma invasion. Cardiopulmonary bypass was performed with two aortic cannulas for simultaneous perfusion of the upper and lower body and one venous cannula for draining venous blood from the right atrium or inferior vena cava. Although aortic cross-clamp time was relatively long (average, 117.8 minutes; range, 47 to 180 minutes) in all cases, there was no neurologic deficit immediately after graft replacement for the aortic lesion. Two patients(25%) of relatively old age died on the postoperative 31st and 41st days, respectively, because of delayed postoperative complications, such as pulmonary abscess and adult respiratory distress syndrome. Although any of several maneuvers may be appropriate in managing dissection of the descending aorta, graft replacement with cardiopulmonary bypass during aortic cross-clamping may be a safe and effective method for the treatment of acute dissection of the descending thoracic aorta.

Pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA) is a condition characterized by renal salt wasting, hyperkalemia, and metabolic acidosis due to renal tubular resistance to aldosterone. Systemic PHA1 is a more severe condition caused by defective transepithelial sodium transport due to mutations in the genes encoding the ${\alpha}$ (SCNN1A), ${\beta}$ (SCNN1B), or ${\gamma}$ (SCNN1G) subunits of the epithelial sodium channel at the collecting duct, and involves the sweat glands, salivary glands, colon, and lung. Although systemic PHA1 is a rare disease, we believe that genetic studies should be performed in patients with normal renal function but with high plasma renin and aldosterone levels, without a history of potassium-sparing diuretic use or obstructive uropathy. In the present report, we describe a case of autosomal recessive PHA1 that was genetically diagnosed in a newborn after severe hyperkalemia was noted.
