Changes in Amounts of Polysaccharides and Polyphosphates under Catabolic Repression and Derepression in Yeast (V) (Catabolic Repression 및 Derepression에 의한 효모 세포의 다당류 함량 변화와 무기 폴리 인산(제 5 보))

  • The present study was designed to investigate biosynthetic patterns of polysaccharides under catabolic repression and derepression in Saccharomyces uvarum. Correlation coefficients between polysaccharide synthesis and polyphosphate accumulation were examined, according to the culture phase and under various phosphate concentrations (free, limited, sufficient). During catabolic derepression, biosynthesis of glycogen was enhanced. rapidly and highly in the cells grown on minimal medium, compared with those grown on the complete medium. Acid soluble glycogen type was the main component of total glycogen and alkali soluble glycogen was synthesized in small amount, after 24 hr culture, at the time of almost exhaustion of sugar in the medium. Total glycogen was accumulated highly in proportion to the amount of phosphate added to the medium. It could be postulated that type 'C' isoenzyme among ALPase was directly or indirectly correlated with the glucan synthesis. Mannan synthesis indicated maximal amount at the early exponential phase and stationary phase, and also acid soluble sugars at the stationary phase. Correlation coefficient between the mannan synthesis and poly-p-'C' accumulation, and also between mannan synthesis and phospholipid content indicated 0.866 and 0.726, respectively.

The Visualization of the Flowfield around Three Circular Cylinders in the Tandem Arrangement by the PIV (PIV에 의한 직렬배열 상태에 놓인 3원주 주위의 유동장 가시화)

  • The Characteristics of the flowfield around three circular cylinders in tandem arrangement was investigated by PIV. Strouhal numbers, vorticity, velocity vectors and velocity profiles were observed at centre-to-centre space ratios of P/D=1.25~3.75, and Reynolds number of Re=$3.0{\times}10^3{\sim}5.0{\times}10^3$. As the results the Strouhal numbers measured in the rear region of 3rd the cylinder were distinguished three kind of regions with the space ratios and The flow pattern in the wake of each cylinder was different according to these regions. The time averaged flow at region of each cylinder was almost stagnated and the size of the stagnated region was small in order of 1st, 2nd and 3rd cylinder. The direction of vortex at the front and rear region of 2nd cylinder was opposed each other with the small difference(${\alpha}= {\pm}5^{\circ}$) of the attack angle ${\alpha}$.

  • Modern GPU can execute mass parallel computation by exploiting many GPU core. GPGPU architecture, which is one of approaches exploiting outstanding computational resources on GPU, executes general-purpose applications as well as graphics applications, effectively. In this paper, we investigate the impact of memory-efficiency and performance according to number of CTAs(Cooperative Thread Array) on a SM(Streaming Multiprocessors), since the analysis of relation between number of CTA on a SM and them provides inspiration for researchers who study the GPU to improve the performance. Our simulation results show that almost benchmarks increasing the number of CTAs on a SM improve the performance. On the other hand, some benchmarks cannot provide performance improvement. This is because the number of CTAs generated from same kernel is a little or the number of CTAs executed simultaneously is not enough. To precisely classify the analysis of performance according to number of CTA on a SM, we also analyze the relations between performance and memory stall, dram stall due to the interconnect congestion, pipeline stall at the memory stage. We expect that our analysis results help the study to improve the parallelism and memory-efficiency on GPGPU architecture.

  • In this paper, we extend the multiple time scale control framework to the window-based congestion control, in particular, such as the TCP. This is performed by interfacing the TCP with a large time scale control module which adjusts the aggressiveness of the bandwidth consumption behavior exhibited by the TCP as a function of large time scale Self-Similar network state. i.e., conformation that exceeds the horizon of the feedback loop as determined by the RTT. How to effectively utilize such an information-due to its probabilistic nature, dispersion over the multiple time scales, and affection on the top of the existing window-based congestion controls-is a non-trivial problem. The evaluation performance of the multiple time scale TCP is facilitated by a simulation of the bench-mark environment which is based on the physical modeling of a self-similar traffic. We explicate our methodology for discerning and evaluating the impact of changes in transport protocols in the protocol stack under the self-similar traffic conditions. We discuss issues arising in the comparative performance evaluation under heavy-tailed workloads.

Air Ventilation Evaluation at Nighttime for the Construction of Wind Corridor in Urban Area (도시지역의 바람길 조성을 위한 야간시간대의 공기순환성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate air ventilation using wind patterns of MetPhoMod program at nighttime focused on Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. Evaluation indices of air ventilation are wind resistant and retention used by results of each wind speed and diversity. The results are as follows. Vulnerable areas of air ventilation are Bonglim-dong, Bansong-dong, Yongji-dong and so on. In high-rise apartment, commercial area and single residential area of Yongji-dong, Sangnam-dong and Sapa-dong, wind is stagnated by high buildings. Therefore, these areas should construct urban spaces to circulate the wind. And to inflow persistingly the fresh wind generated in a rural area, we think that the construction of wind corridor is suggested by development plan and policy wind corridor.

Performance comparison of rainfall and flood forecasts using short-term numerical weather prediction data from Korea and Japan (한-일 단기 수치예보자료를 이용한 강우 및 홍수 예측 성능 비교)

  • This study evaluated the accuracy of rainfall and flood forecasts in Sancheong basin with three rainfall events such as typhoon and stationary front by using LDAPS provided by Korea Meteorological Agency and MSM provided by Japan Meteorological Agency. In the rainfall forecast result, both LDAPS and MSM showed high forecast accuracy for wide-area prediction such as typhoon event, but local-area prediction such as stationary front has a limit to quantitative precipitation forecast (QPF). In the flood forecast result, the forecast accuracy was improved with the increase of the lead time, and it showed the possibility of LDAPS and MSM in the field of rainfall and flood forecast by linking meteorology and water resources.

The Effectiveness of a Spiritual Education for Spiritual Care Competence Reinforcement of Nursing Students (간호대학생의 영적간호역량 강화를 위한 영성교육의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of spiritual education for spiritual care competence reinforcement of nursing students. 83 subjects of nursing students were participated in two universities located in J city(from February 27 to May 19, 2017) and composed of 42 in the experimental group and 41 in the control group. The spiritual education was composed of three sections; self-awareness, spirituality, and spiritual dimension in nursing. This program was then implemented on the subjects for a total of 10 sessions with each session lasting 120 minutes and given 2 times a week for 5 weeks. The data collected were analyzed for descriptive statistics, χ2-test, Independent t-test and Repeated ANOVA. This spiritual education increased the spirituality, ego-identity, spiritual well-being, satisfaction with life, and spiritual care competence of the nursing students. The effectiveness of the spiritual education also maintained in five weeks after intervention. It is therefore proposed that this education be utilized for the nursing students as basic standardization process of a spiritual nursing care.

A Narrative Research on Occupational Identity of a TVET Teacher Using the Project Method in Programming Fields (프로젝트법을 활용하는 프로그래밍분야 직업능력개발훈련교사의 직업정체성 내러티브 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to discover the occupational identity by examining the narrative of the life of a TVET teacher using the project method in programming fields. Teacher S, a participant in the study, started as a part-time lecturer at university and has been teaching programs for the past 20 years. As a result, six kinds of occupational identities of a programming teacher who teach by project method were found. S experienced pride and pride as a teacher through the project method. The project method served as a motive for continuous self-development to lead S to an expert. His experience as a positive teacher made him wish to maintain this life and live as a teacher as long as his health permits, even after retirement. This study has significance in exploring the structure of the occupational identity of a TVET teacher using the project method in programming fields, which have not been studied yet.

  • 첨단교통정보시스템(ATIS)의 핵심 요소라 할 수 있는 동적경로안내 시스템(Dynamic Route Guidance System : DRGS)은 운전자가 목적지에 도착하기까지 실시간 교통정보를 토대로 최적경로를 안내해 줌으로써 날로 심화되어 가고 있는 교통혼잡을 최소화할 수 있으리라 기대를 모으고 있다. 특히 교통사고나 긴급도로공사 등으로 인해 발생하는 돌발적 교통혼잡하에서는 DRGS의 역할이 더욱 커질 것으로 예상되고 있다. 본 논문은 돌발적 교통혼잡하에서 보다 효과적인 DRGS의 경로 안내 알고리즘을 개발하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 우선 하부구조기반(Infrastructure Based) DRGS와 개인차량기반(In-vehicle Based)DRGS의 장단점을 운전자, 교통행정당국, 그리고 교통체계관점에서 비교하였고, 시스템 아키텍쳐와 경로안내 알고리즘간의 상호관계를 규명하였다. 또한 효율적인 경로안내를 위해 사용자 평형(User Equilibrium)경로안내전략과 시스템최적화(System Optimal) 경로안내전략을 이상형 교통망(Idealistic Network)을 통해 비교분석하였다. 여기에는 현재 ITS-America에서 System Architecture 평가를 위해 사용한 INTEGRATION이라는 ITS Simulation Model과 그 통행저항함수를 사용하였다. 이를 토대로 돌발적 교통혼잡상황 아래서 사용자평형 경로안내를 제공할 경우 야기될 수 있는 Braess` Paradox 문제와, 총통행시간을 최소화하기 위한 시스템최적 경로안내를 제공할 경우 일어날 수 있는 사용자 호응도(User Compliance)문제를 동시에 고려한 적응형 동적경로안내 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 여기에는 돌발적 교통혼잡하에서 통행시간을 동적으로 예측하기 위해 이산형 확정적 대기행렬모형(Discrete Deterministic Queueing Model)이 사용되었다. 한편 알고리즘의 효율성을 평가하기 위해 이상형 교통망과, 실제 미국 Virginia 주의 Fairfax County에 소재한 주간 고속도로 66번(I-66)과 인접 교통망의 교통자료를 사용하여 각종 돌발교통 혼잡 상황을 전제로 한 Traffic Simulation과 정보제공시나\리오를 INTEGRATION Model을 이용해 실행하였다. 그 결과 적응형 알고리즘이 개개인의 최단시간 경로를 제공하는 사용자 평형 경로안내전략에 비해 교통혼잡도와 정체시간의 체류정도에 따라 3%에서 10%까지 전체통행시간을 절약할 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다.

Development of an Efficient Vehicle Routing Heuristic using Closely Located Delivery Points and Penalties (패널티와 밀집형태의 배송지점을 활용한 효율적 차량경로 탐색 알고리즘의 개발)

  • Travel time between two points depends upon whether it is a rush hour or not in metropolitan area. It is true that there is big differences on the time required to get through the area whether going in busy morning or near noon. Another issue is that there exist many delivery points which closely located each other; so no need to consider traveling hours among these points. We designed an efficient procedure to reduce the complexity by considering closely located delivery points as one big delivery point. A computer simulation model is constructed for comparison purposes of the developed heuristic with the optimum solution.
