NiCrAly/YSZ(8wt% Y2O3-Zro2) functionally fraded thermal barrier coating (FGC) layers on a Co-base sureralloy (HAYNESS 188) substrate were fabricated using Ar shielded single torch air plasma spraying method. Functional grading were produced with the stepwise compositional change throughout layer thinkness. Microstructural observation revealed a sucessful fabrication of NiCrAly/YSZ FGC. From the results of the curvature measurement, adhesive stength measurement and thermal shock test for the FGC, it was concluded that the optimum enhance of functionally graded coating layer thinkcess and compositional pattern exit to enhance the properties of FGC, which is closely reated to the internal residual distribution with it.

본 연구에서는 역세권개발의 핵심요소로서 3가지를 제시하였다. 우선 역의 입지에 따른 주변토지이용, 철도노선 개수에 따른 역사유형, 역사개발방식을 고려한 역세권개발 유형을 제시하는 것이다. 다음은 역세권 개발이 성공하려면 역의 기능이 제대로 발휘되어야 한다. 이를 위해 역으로의 접근성을 판단하는 적정수준의 연계체계 구축방안을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 역으로의 접근 후 승객이 편리하게 환승할 수 있도록 하는 승하차 시설을 배치기준을 제시하였다.

The presence of dark energy, suggested from Type Ia supernovae (SNe) cosmology, is the most pronounced astronomical discovery made during the past decade. The basic assumption of this discovery is that the look-back time evolution of SNe luminosity would be negligible after light-curve correction. Several recent works, however, show that there are some differences in Hubble residual among host galaxies having different morphology and mass, indicating that SNe luminosity might be affected by population age. In order to investigate this more directly, we are continuing the YONSEI (YOnsei Nearby Supernovae Evolution Investigation) project, where we are obtaining low-resolution spectra of some 60 nearby early-type host galaxies. The early-type galaxies are preferred because the mean population ages and metallicities can be estimated from the absorption lines, and they are less affected by dust extinction. In this talk, we will report our progress in determining the ages and metallicities of host galaxies to investigate their correlation with the Hubble residual.

이 연구의 목적은 예비 중등 교사를 대상으로 지구 환경에 대한 환경 인식, 지구 환경의 하위 영역에 따른 환경 인식, 그리고 전공에 따른 환경 인식에 차이가 있는지를 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위해 '성장과 기술의 부정적 결과', '인류와 자연의 관계', '삶의 질', '생물권의 한계'의 4가지 하위 영역으로 구성된 NEP 검사 도구를 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 대부분의 예비 중등 교사들은 생태학적 환경 인식을 지니고 있었으며, 전공에 따라서도 유사한 환경 인식을 지니고 있었다. 그러나, 환경 관련 교육의 경험 유무에 따라서는 유의한 차이를 나타내었다.

We present wide-field multiband photometry of globular cluster (GC) systems toward the central region of the Fornax cluster of galaxies, including NGC 1399, NGC 1404, and NGC 1387. Observation was carried out through four optical passbands (U, B, V, and I) with the Mosaic II CCD imager mounted on the 4-m Blanco telescope at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO). This marks one of the widest U-band photometric studies on GC systems. GC candidates are selected among point sources based on their two color diagrams together with a magnitude cut. We investigate the radial variation of color distributions for the GC systems, focusing on the fundamental parameters that characterize bimodal distributions; the number ratio between blue and red GCs, the mean colors of the groups, and their color dispersions. We discuss the implication of our result regarding the origin of GC color bimodality.

In recent years there has been a growing recognition that presenting principally environmental issues in environmental textbooks is a form of local, national, regional, and global issues. The environmental textbook in the 7th environmental curriculum is to be composed of contents that could encourage the inquiry of value and change of attitude to take part in environmental preservation on the foundation of the comprehension about ecosystem. Therefore, the present study analyzed the difference of the contents of the environmental issues between the 7th national curriculum and textbooks in the middle school environmental education. The analytical results of this study are as follows: Firstly, there are total 4 sections related to environmental issues in environmental curriculum of middle schools. The content areas that are included ‘Environmental Preservation and Development’, ‘Getting the Hot Earth’, ‘Decreasing Forest and Increasing Desert’, and ‘Pleasant Surrounding and Quality of Life’. Secondly, an environmental textbooks that are used in school education edited for direction that coincide in motive that is ‘real life-centered education’ that is presenting in the 7th environmental curriculum. Specially, introduction to local environmental issues coincides the intent of the curriculum revisions that are ‘environmental education within everyday life’ and ‘contents of local-centered environmental education’. These findings have implications for teaching about environmental issue in school environmental education.

SimRiver, computer simulation software for assessment of river water quality is an educational simulation software created for studying the relationship between human activity and river environment using epilithic diatom communities, The SimRiver program was applied to total seventy eight teachers of elementary, middle and high schools in Korea, and the teachers' reactions were analyzed with the questionnaire survey. Total 79.2% of the teachers estimated the possibility of SimRiver to be applied as a educational material in lessons is high. Especially total 93.6% of the teachers answered that they will use SimRiver in their lessons. The results of the questionnaire survey indicate that SimRiver is an interesting and easy simulator of alternative field exercise for students to understand the relationship between human activity and quality of river water.

This article investigated the effects of students' knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes about environment on environmental issue-based environmental problem solving in secondary school students. This article also investigated whether these factors are related to the environmental problem solving. Therefore, we first developed the test instruments to measure secondary school students' environmental knowledge, environmental beliefs, and environmental attitudes. Then, we developed the environmental issue-based teaching materials for secondary school students. The subjects participated in a environmental issue-based approach that consist of 3 lesson over an three weeks period. The results of this study presents that environmental knowledge and environmental beliefs are effective for the environmental problem solving in middle school environment class. First, secondary school students knew well ecological knowledge about environmental problem, and was entertaining most ecological beliefs. Second, secondary school students were having attitude which is most pro-environmental behaviors. Third, secondary school students are referring necessity of development partially about environment point at issue of country level. But, they were retaining situation of preservation about environment point at issue of area level. It's not easy to generalize these results because of many different variables, but the results suggests that teachers should make an effort to improve student's environmental problem solving ability applying environmental issue-based learning. And it's necessary to develop many kinds of environmental issues and teacher's instruction method to enrich problem solving ability in the process of environmental issue-based learning.

Project-based learning is an innovative approach to learning that teaches a multitude of strategies critical for success in the twenty-first century. Students drive their own learning through inquiry activity, as well as work collaboratively to research and create projects that reflect their knowledge. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of eco-friendly school project activity which is applied from one of project-based learning approach on learning outcomes of students in ninth-grade environment course in middle school. The participants were given a questionnaire before and after the environmental project activities. In solving the school environment issues themselves, students have practiced invaluable problem solving skills. This study indicates that school students' awareness about the environment has positively changed by experiencing the eco-friendly school project. In addition, this project affects students' variety of environmental awareness. This project could be applied to school environmental education programs and to environment lessons, developmental activities or club activities for a positive impact on students' environmental awareness.
