Suction Changes During Static Compaction and an Estimate of the Consolidation Yield Stress in Compacted Soil (정적 다짐시의 흡인력 변화와 그 특성을 이용한 다짐토의 압밀항복응력 산정방법)

  • This paper presented a method to estimate the consolidation yield stress of compacted soil with an unsaturated soil mechanics, especially considering the effect of matric suction. Then two kinds of experiments were conducted. One is a series of static compaction tests to monitor the matric suction, and the other is a series of consolidation tests on compacted soil without soaking. The results indicate that it is possible to derive the distribution of matric suction on compaction curves and to hypothesize the changes of the void ratio depending on the matric suction in the consolidation tests. With this experimental results, a new method was introduced to estimate the consolidation yield stress of compacted soil including compaction curves.

Yield Stress of Kochujang with Vane Method (Vane 방법을 이용한 고추장의 항복응력 측정)

  • The vane method was used to measure yield stresses of five commercial kochujang samples under a controlled shear-rate operating condition. Magnitudes of vane yield stress were higher than those of yield stress using Casson model with a concentric cylinder viscometer. Magnitudes of vane yield stresses showed great differences between the static $({\sigma}_s)$ and dynamic yield stresses $({\sigma}_d)$ of kochujang samples with undisturbed structure (UDS) and with broken down structure (BDS). A dimensionless yield number $(N{\sigma}_o)$ was determined from the ratio of ${\sigma}s$ to ${\sigma}d$ in order to describe the existence of temporary structure of kochujang.

  • For the liquid rocket engine, the gas generator oxidizer shut-off valve which supplies the oxidizer to a gas generator needs structural safety under the internal pressure, which is higher than the chamber pressure. In this study, static stress analyses of the various design in the vicinity of the region where the stress is concentrated were performed for designing the lightweight valve, A lightest model of which the concentrated stress does not exceed the yield criteria has been suggested. Also, whole size effect of the valve on the concentrated stress was investigated.

  • 무동력 복합작업기는 치즐쟁기와 디스크의 배열에 따라 작업성능이 좌우된다. 프레임과 디스크, 치즐쟁기에 가해지는 기본적인 힘의 상태를 확인하기 위한 정적 구조해석을 수행하였다. 복합작업기는 디스크는 $18^{\circ}$가 경사진 형태로 전면9개 후면9로 총 18개, 치즐쟁기(Chiselplow)는 4개로, 디스크는 모두 18개이다. 정적인 상태에서 끄는 견인력은 100마력, 150마력, 200마력으로 하였으며 Inventor의 해석 시스템은 힘을 N으로 사용하기 때문에 각 마력에 부가되는 하중을 N으로 치환하여 사용하였다. 구속조건은 frame과, disc, chisel plow에 맞닿는 면을 구속하고, 힘의 방향은 프레임과 트랙터의 연결면, 디스크 날과 땅의 접촉면에 적용했다. front /rear 디스크는 이론상으로는 양 디스크가 쌍으로 마주하고 있어서 스캔데이타를 중심으로 모델링한 결과를 바탕으로, 전후면 디스크해로우의 해석을 수행하였다. 조립 또는 사용상의 문제점이나 자연적인 유격에 의해 어느 정도 대칭이 되지 않을수 있으나 그 정도에 따라 진동과 내구성에 문제가 될 수도 있기에 한쌍에 대해 모델링을 통한 해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과에 따르면 디스크에 작용하는 폰미세스 응력은 극한강도에 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났으며 Frame의 최대 폰 미세스 응력을 제외하면, 대부분의 응력은 항복강도에 현저히 미치지 못하는 수치이고, 프레임의 경우는 150마력, 200마력으로 힘을 가할 때 항복강도는 넘는 수치이지만 극한인장강도에는 미치지 못하는 수치인 것을 알 수 있었다. 100마력에 폰 미세스 응력의 최대값은 0.161918 MPa이고 프레임 강의 항복강도인 207MPa와 디스크의 항복강도인 250MPa에 못 미치는 수치이다. 150마력과 200마력의 힘으로 회전할 때의 폰 미세스 응력의 최대값은 0.286425MPa과 0.381921 MPa로 항복강도인 250MPa에 크게 못 미치는 수치이다. 그 이유는 디스크해로우 방식의 복합작업기는 견인저항력이 작게 설계되고 작업속도를 개선하기 위한 목적으로 사용되기 때문으로 사료된다. 벤치마킹 기대의 Rear 디스크도 마찬가지로 각도는 $18^{\circ}$이며, 동일한 구속조건을 적용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며 해석결과는 모두 항복강도 이내로 예측 되었다. 디스크에 최대로 응력이 미치는 부분은 디스크와 프레임이 연결되는 허브 부분이다. 각도가 커짐에 따라 응력이 증가하므로 이를 감안한 설계인자 도출이 가능하다. 마력과 각도가 증가함에 따라 디스크 해로우에 작용하는 폰미세스 응력과, 접촉압력이 증가하므로 이에 대한 검토와 동적하중인 로드프로파일을 적용한 해석을 수행하여 내구수명 특성에 대한 연구를 수행할 계획이다.

Rheological Properties of Traditional kochujang (전통 고추장의 레올로지 특성)

  • 총고형분 함량$(TS:\;50{\sim}57%)$을 달리하여 숙성시킨 고추장의 유동특성, 정적 및 동적점탄특성을 관찰하였다. 고추장의 TS가 증가함에 따라서 점조도 지수(K)와 겉보기 점도$({\eta}_{a.5})$는 증가하였으며 유동성 지수(n)는 1보다 훨씬 낮은 0.24-0.31의 범위를 나타내어 고추장은 shear-thinning 성질을 보여주었다. 고추장의 항복응력 측정에서는 고추장의 TS가 증가함에 따라 Casson 항복응력$({\sigma}_{oc})$은 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 또한 고추장의 액상 매개체인 serum 점도$({\eta}_{se})$는 고추장의 TS와 매우 좋은 상관관계$(R^2=0.97)$를 나타내었다. 고추장의 동적점탄성 실험에서는 주파수$({\omega})$가 증가함에 따라 저장탄성률(G#)와 손실탄성률(G@)은 증가하였으며 양(+) 기울기로 G#수치가 G@수치보다 높게 나타났다. 이는 고추장이 약한 겔과 같은 구조적 특성을 갖고 있으며 또한 shear-thinning 거동을 가지고 있음을 나타낸다. 정적점탄성 실험에서 고추장의 총고형분 함량에 따라서 순간탄성 변형$(J_0)$과 지연탄성변형$(J_1)$은 총고형분 함량이 증가함에 따라서 감소하였으며 점도$({\eta}_N)$와 지연시간 $({\tau}_1)$은 증가하였다. 따라서 고추장은 농도가 증가함에 따라 보다 탄력적이며 안정된 구조를 형성하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Durability Test and Test Jig Development of an Automotive Parking Lock Gear (자동차용 파킹 락 기어의 내구시험과 시험 지그 개발)

  • Generally, the durability of the parking lock gear is evaluated through an endurance test for the entire transmission but no test standard exists for the durability test of one part of a parking lock gear. Therefore, in this study, the durability test standards of the parking lock gear were determined autonomously, and the durability performance test was conducted. A static fracture test was carried out to determine the yield strength of the parking lock gear, and a durability test condition was set to 60 % of the yield strength. The durability test of 1,000,000 times was conducted under the given conditions using a dedicated test jig manufactured for the test. Because the jig fractured during the static fracture test, finite element analysis for the jig was carried out and the jig was re-designed. The modified jig was manufactured and the durability test was carried out based on the test standard of autonomously. The basic data on the performance and endurance limit of the parking lock gear were obtained using these tests and analyses, and the basic data will be used as fundamental materials for the design and the development of the parking lock gear.

The study on structural performance of fiber metal laminates (섬유금속 적층판의 구조적 성능 연구)

  • In this paper, yield stress, tangent modulus and failure strain were varied to ascertain the influence of impact response such as impact force histories and residual energy. And the buckling behavior of FML(Fiber Metal Laminates) were analyzed using numerical method. A number of analyses on FML and aluminum panel were conducted for shear and compression loading to compare the capability of stability. And to evaluate the static performance, static analysis has performed for box beam structure. Low-velocity impact analysis has performed on FML made of aluminum 2024 sheet and glass/epoxy prepreg layers. And the buckling and static performance of FML have been compared to aluminum using the analysis results. For the comparison of structural performance, similar analyses have been carried out on monolithic aluminum 2024 sheets of equivalent weight.

Experimental study on Static Behavior of H-beam prestressed with Multi-Stepwise TPSM (다단계 온도프리스트레싱 도입 강재보의 정적거동평가를 위한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, static loading tests were performed on H-beam specimens to assess the static behavior of H-beam prestressed with multi-stepwise thermal prestressing method (TPSM). The amount of induced thermal prestress and connection type were differentiated among the 400-mm-high and 6,000-mm-long H-beam specimens to evaluate their effect on the behavior of the beams. From the experimental results, it between the H-beam and the cover-plate increased in yielding load by 13~18%, whereas stiffness increased by 27~34%. In case of specimens with both bolting and welding connection, yie lding load increased by 18~29% and stiffness increased by 43~51%. Multi-stepwise initial stress distribution was also observed from the prestressed specimens, verifying the effectiveness of the multi-stepwise TPSM. By application of the multi-stepwise TPSM, a significant increase in yielding load and stiffness can be achieved, hence increasing sectional and prestressing efficiencies.

Stress Analysis of a Trunnion Ball Valve for Ball Weight Reduction (이축 볼밸브의 볼 경량화를 위한 응력해석)

  • A valve product can be over-designed or too heavy. Finite element analysis was performed using ANSYS for two and three-dimensional ball valve models, and the ball weight was reduced by optimization within the allowable design criteria. The ball is structurally safe according to the computed stress values, which are within the material's admissible stress. The weight was reduced by about 22%, and the structural safety factor was 1.25. The structural safety of the seat insert and ring, which are used to prevent leakage, was confirmed through finite element analysis. It is shown that the two-dimensional analysis can result in similar values to the three-dimensional analysis for the axisymmetric structure. The redesign of the valve is not included in the results since such changes require a whole new design process, including all valve components.

  • The aim of the research is to provide the boundary conditions for segregation of normal strength grade and high fluidity concrete mixture (so called mid-fluidity concrete) with rheology parameters. Since the normal strength grade concrete mixture has a relatively high water-to-cement ratio and no SCMs, it is easy to be segregated when superplasticizer is added. Hence, to achieve the mid-fluidity concrete of normal strength grade and high fluidity, preventing segregation of the mixture is inevitable. In this research, using two superplasticizers with different solid concentrations, the flow behaviors and rheological behaviors were assessed by increasing fluidity until the segregation happened. According to the experiment in this research, an unusual behavior in rheology parameters was observed when the concrete mixture started to be segregated. From this results and report, it is expected to contribute on the definition of segregation with rheological test methods.
