A Study on Program Development for Static Design Factor of Automotive Suspension System (자동차 현가장치의 정적설계인자 계산을 위한 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a general program has been developed to calculate the static design factor of a vehicle suspension system. The partial derivatives of Jacobians for constraint equations are calculated using the symbolic technique. In the commercial program, finite difference method is used to calculate the Jacobian matrix of Jacobian. But in this study, it is calculated by using the symbol calculation method to precisely consider it. The calculated Jacobian matrix for the system has proved its accuracy through the solution of the numerical example. A simulation was performed for a double wishbone suspension of a 1/4 vehicle. The result can be used to calculate the static design factor of the suspension, and also add a convergence module that can perform virtual tests.

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Disk Bearings under Railway Vehicle Loading (철도차량하중에 의한 디스크받침의 정·동적 거동특성)

  • The goal of this study is to ases the static and dynamic behavior of disk bearings under railway vehicle loadings. Several static tests were conducted in a laboratory t bearings, all having the same kind of polyurethane disk as used in the static tests, were installed under a full-sized railway bridge and tested with a running locomotive, the tests results, the static and dynamic stiffness of the disk bearings were estimated and compared. the deformation of the disk bearings under the bridge was measured at varying disk bearing was almost half of that under dynamic loading. In addition, the dynamic stiffness of the fixed disk bearing was 80% higher than that of an expansion disk bearing, since the PTFE in the expansion bearing is displaced. The deformation of the disk bearing did not vary significantly with changes in locomotive's speed. The results of this study can contribute to fast-tracking the formulation of a design technique for disk bearings for railway bridges.

Deformational Characteristics of Dry Sand Using Resonant Column / Torsional Shear Testing Equipment (공진주/비틂 전단(RC/TS)시험기를 이용한 건조 사질토의 변형특성)

  • Deformational characteristics of soils, often expressed in terms of shear modulus and material damping ratios, are important parameters in the design of soil-structure systems subjected to cyclic and dynamic loadings. In this paper, deformational characteristics of dry sand at small to intermediate strains were investigated using resonant column/torsional shear(RC 175) apparatus. Both resonant column(dynamic) and torsional shear (cyclic) tests were performed in a sequential series on the same specimen. With the modification of motion monitoring system, the elastic zone, where the stress strain relationship is independent of loading cycles and strain amplitude, was veri tied and hysteretic damping was found even in this zone. At strains above cyclic threshold, shear modulus increases and damping ratio decreases with increasing number of loading cycles. Moduli and damping ratios of dry sand are independent of loading frequency and values obtained from pseudostatic torsional shear tests are Identical with the values from the dynamic resonant column test, provided the effect of number of loading cycles is considered in the conlparison. Therefore, deformational characteristics determined by RC/TS tests may be applied in both dynamic and static analyses of soil-structure systems.

  • For a shear-deformable beam-column element subjected io non-conservative forces, equations of motion and a finite element formulation are presented applying extended Hamilton's principle. The influence of non-conservative force's direction parameter, internal and external damping forces, and shear deformation and rotary inertia effects on divergence and flutter loads of Beck's columns are intensively investigated based on element stiffness, damping and mass matrixes derived for the non-conservative system.

  • 햅틱 장치를 이용한 변형체의 실시간 시뮬레이션은 가상현실을 구축하기 위한 중요한 기술의 하나로서 최근에 크게 각광받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 햅틱 장비와 변형체의 정확한 인터페이스를 구축하기 위하여 변형체의 물리적 특성을 고려한 연속체적 모델인 유한요소법을 통한 선행해석을 수행한다. 변형체와 햅틱 장치의 상호작용 과정에서 발생하는 변형과 반력을 사용자에게 실시간으로 제공하기 위하여 선행해석 결과를 이용한 변형체의 정적 시뮬레이션을 구현한다. 이와 함께 햅틱 장치와 접촉이 이루어지는 부분의 변형을 보다 자연스럽게 표현하기 위하여 적응적 유한요소법인 s-adaptive 방법을 적용하였으며 햅틱 장치와 접촉이 끝난 후의 변형체가 평형 상태로 돌아가는 과정을 모사하기 위하여 Newmark scheme을 통한 동적 시뮬레이션을 구현한다. 또한 최적화 행렬 연산 함수인 BLAS와 LAPACK을 이용하여 행렬 연산을 빠르게 수행하고 효율적인 메모리 사용 추구한다.

Static Behavior of Concrete-Filled and Tied Steel Tubular Arch(CFTA) Girder (CFTA거더의 정적 거동연구)

  • This study introduces the CFTA girder(Concrete-Filled and Tied Steel Tubular Arch Girder) which is a combined structural system of traditional CFT, arch, and prestress structures. Static load tests and structural behavior analyses were carried out for a 25m long CFTA girder. In the analysis, each load of 58kN, 88kN, 148kN, 207kN,and 298kN was applied incrementally at the positions of 1.0 m distances in both directions from the center of the girder. On each test, strain and displacement were measured. Linear static FEM analyses using Strand7 code were also performed to check the structural stability and to investigate the effects of prestressing(${\pm}$20%) and material property(Young's modulus) on the displacement and strain. The results of this study are summarized as follows: the initial strain & displacement under selfweight and prestressing were influenced with the variation of prestressing, but they were mainly effected only by Young's modulus when additional loads were applied.

  • In the non-linear behavior of many materials, there is difference between the monotonic behavior by static load and the cyclic behavior by cyclic load. In particular, the short fatigue cracks to propagate in elasto-plastic stress concentrations(notches), are governed significantly by the cyclic behavior of materials. Accordingly, it is needed to investigate and compare the monotonic and cyclic behavior of materials. In the pressent study, the stress-strain relations of materials by monotonic and cyclic load tests were examined for 2 kinds of steels(SS41, HT80) and 5 kinds of Al-alloys(A5083-O, A6N01-T5, A7N01-T4, A7016-T6, A7178-T6). And the constants for mechanical properties of the materials were determined by experimental results, Moreover, when a notch was subjected to cyclic load, the effect of cyclic hardening property of materials on the variation of stress-strain amplitude in the notch tip was discussed by the application of Neuber's rule and experiments for a center notched plate.

  • Fe-Co-Ge 자기변형 합금 복합체는 낮은 자기장에서도 높은 자기 변형 민감도와 고분자 바인더에 의한 절연으로 인하여 저항이 크고, 와전류 손실이 작아 고주파영역 에서도 우수한 자기변형을 가지는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 그러나 희토류계 자기변형 복합체에 비하여 그 성능은 열세이지만, 제조 단가가 저렴하여 높은 성능/가격 대비 효과를 가지므로 초음파 발진소자와 같은 대량의 상업적 응용분야에 적용 가능한 소재로 있다. [1]. 한편 이와 같은 자기 변형 복합체는 고분자 바인더와 결합되어 있어 그 기계적 특성의 향상과 사용주파수 대역의 증가가 요구되어진다. 이에 이들 문제점을 보안하기 위하여 670 GPa의 큰 영률을 갖는 WC 분말의 첨가에 의한 합금복합체의 기계적 및 자기변형 (정적 및 동적) 특성에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구하고자 하였다.

  • Today, the use of composite materials become an essential part in the design and manufacturing process of the flight vehicles to reduce the structural weight. Since the structural properties can be varied largely due to the stacking sequence of ply angles, it is very important problem to determine the optimized ply angles under a design objective. Thus, in this study, the analysis of static aeroelastic optimization of a composite wing has been performed. An analytical system to calculate and optimize tile aero-structural equilibrium position has been developed and incorporated with the genetic algorithm. The effects of stacking sequence on the structural deformation and aerodynamic distribution have been studied and calculated with the condition of minimum structural deformation for a swept-back composite wing. For the set of practical stacking angles, the design results to maximize the performance of static aeroelasticity are also presented.

  • The static aeroelastic analysis of composite hingeless rotor blades in hover was performed using free-wake method. Large deflection beam theory was applied to analyze blade motions as a one-dimension beam. Anisotropic beam theory was applied to perform a cross-sectional analysis for composite rotor blades. Aerodynamic loads were calculated through a three-dimensional aerodynamic model which is based on the unsteady vortex lattice method. The wake geometry in hover was described using a time-marching free-wake method. Numerical results of the steady-state deflections for the composite hingeless rotor blades were presented and compared with those results based on two-dimensional quasi-steady strip theory and prescribed wake method. It was shown that wakes affect the steady-state deflections.
