본고에서는 미래창조과학부 공공통합망 주파수 (700MHz대역)를 사용하는 철도통합 무선통신망 (LTE-R)의 호남고속철도 익산~정읍간 시험선 구축을 통한 실용화 계획과 함께 국가 철도망 적용을 위한 노선별, 지역별 중장기 구축 계획과 최초로 사업화를 준비중인 원주-강릉 복선전철 시범사업에 대한 내용을 소개한다.

근년의 "따뜻한 겨울" 추세와는 달리 2001년 1월 중순은 일주일 이상 혹독한 한파가 지속되었다. 최저기온이 영하 $25^{\circ}C$ 이하를 기록한 지점만도 철원(-29.2$^{\circ}C$), 홍천(-26.7$^{\circ}C$), 동두천(-26.2$^{\circ}C$), 제천(-26.$0^{\circ}C$), 대관령(-25.6$^{\circ}C$) 등 다섯이며, 순천, 진주, 정읍 등 남부지방 여러 곳에서도 영하 15$^{\circ}C$ 이하의 최저기온이 관측되었다.(중략)관측되었다.(중략)

정부의 '혁신성장 8대 선도사업'이 발표된 이후 그중 하나인 스마트팜이 주목받고 있다. 스마트팜이란 축사에 정보통신기술을 접목해 원격 자동으로 가축의 생육환경을 적정하게 유지 관리할 수 있는 농장을 뜻한다. 정부가 첨단 ICT(정보통신기술)를 융 복합한 스마트농업을 지원하고 생태 친환경적 농업에 대한 연구개발을 강화하겠다는 농정 공약을 제시한 바에 따라 2014년 기준 축산 23호에 불과했던 스마트팜이 2017년에 790호로 증가했다. 정부가 2020년까지 스마트축사를 5,750호까지 늘려나간다는 계획을 발표함으로써 축산업에 스마트팜의 접목이 꾸준할 것으로 보인다. 이에 본지는 '스마트팜'의 선두주자로서 전북 정읍에 있는 농업회사법인 미소농장(주) 김종문 대표를 찾았다.

As the rural areas have experienced the population reduction and the aging, the service level of public transit decreases. This study analyzes the effecting factor to user satisfaction of demand response transport(DRT) as alternative to rural public transit by the quantile regression that aims at estimating either the conditional median or other quantiles of the response variable. Jeonbuk Province tested DRT operations in Dongsang of Wanju County and Sannae of Jeongup City each in 2015. The user DRT satisfaction of Wanju was higher than one of Jeongup in basic statistics analysis. The difference in satisfaction between higher quantile and lower quntile of Wanju is smaller than one of Jeongupy as a result of quantile regression analysis. Also, Wanju DRT continues the second test operation of DRT as satisfaction from Ordinary Least Squares(OLS) close to higher satisfaction quantile.

There are lots of forests around the Korean rural village. This study was conducted to investigate the state of the forests by the 15 forests case study of the Kamgok region in Chon-guk-Do province, Korea. The results are as follows. 1. The forests lose mostly original form by the construction of road and forest clearing for the land development business. And almostly the form of the forests is a trapezoid or roundness. 2. The forests were remained on account of the Korean cemetery customs which is burying underground. 3. The conservation of the forests becomes more difficult because of the continuous development pressure. 4. Because the scale of the forests is so small, they aren't named as the natural resort forest by the forest law. So it will be the better alternative that they are conserved and used by inducing the concept of the village resort forest. 5. Because the owenership of the forests exists in a person or a family, the forests will be destructed continuously by the cemetery development. 6. The vegetation of the upper trees in the forests is the simple forests of Pinus densiflora, Pinus rigida and bamboo. The height of upper tree is average 10-12m. And average root diameter is 13-29cm. The age of the tree is average 50 years old. The state of the forests is mostly fine. 7. It is clarified that the price of the forest land is 3-5 times expensive than the other cultivated land. 8. The forests were made by the forefathers for the purpose of the practical use and were reforested in the era 1960s, 1970s.

Due to the increasing incidence of diabetes, obesity and hypertensive, stevia has been placed great attentions as the sweetener to substitute sucrose in the world. Stevia was introduced to Korea in 1970's, but it has not been an attractive crop in that time. However, recently it has more attention for the natural food sweet additives. Because stevia have many problems for cultivation especially cultivar, seed germination, fertility, uniformity and glycoside quality, the sport mutation was attempted to in vitro plants for the improvement of some characteristics. The young in vitro plants was nursed on MS medium supplemented with $1mg\;l^{-1}\;GA_3$. Shoots of 10 cm height were irradiated with 0~200 Gy of gamma ray and the every node was separated and inoculated on MS basic medium. The lethality, number and length of shoot, numbers of node and branch were investigated for the evaluation of radiosensitivity. The optimum dose of gamma ray seemed to be around 80 Gy for the sport mutation induction in stevia. The lower node was more sensitive than higher node to radiation.

Cymbidium is one of the largest genus in the orchid family and a number of hybrids have been bred in the world. During mass-propagating the Cymbidium "Dongyang" using the meristem culture technology, a useful leaf mutant was selected from the protocom like bodies. The new Cymbidium variety by in vitro mutangesis from "Dongyang" was named as 'Daegook' in 1998. Compared to Dongyang, "Daegook" mutant has white or yellow stripes along the margin of leaves and flowers. The plant length of "Daegook" was shorter than "Dongyang" and the mean length and width of leaf in "Daegook" was 40 cm and 1.6 cm, respectively. The new variety, "Daegook", is expected to be a popular Cymbidium variety among consumer as a ornamental orchid mutant for pot culture by its fine and unique stripes and growth characters.

This study investigated the effect of geography and altitude on epigeic spider communities in rice field levees in Jeollabuk-do. Spider communities in the mountainous and plain areas were compared to determine the effect of geography on the cultivation periods. The effect of altitude was compared between the Jeongeup and Jangsu areas during non-cultivation periods. Analysis using nMDS (non-metric multidimensional scaling), MRPP (multiple response permutation procedure), and ANOSIM (analysis of similarity) revealed differences in spider community structures between the two types of study areas. Lycosidae predominated at the family level, and its abundance was greater in the mountainous area than in the plains area. The total abundance did not differ between the two areas with different altitudes, but the abundance of three Pardosa species was greater at lower altitudes than at higher altitudes. Geography and altitude had a minimal effect on species richness and diversity indices at the community level. However, several Lycosidae species showed species-specific responses to both geography and altitude in the rice fields.
