A number of studies and models have focused on collaborative information behavior (CIB) in various contexts as the importance of research on CIB is recognized in information behavior research. This study compared and analyzed the models of CIB developed by Prekop (2002), Reddy and Jansen (2008), Shah (2008), Karunakaran, Spence and Reddy (2010), and Yue and He (2010), and discussed the direction of future studies of CIB. The future research strategies for overcoming the limitation of previous studies and models on CIB are to extend research object and context, to do holistic research approach tracing complexity of CIB, and to debate and verify the models of CIB. In particular, it needs to modify and improve the models based on the empirical research for domestic context.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the direction of studies of information seeking behavior(ISB) by analyzing previous studies provided model of ISB. Studies were divided into 3 types in terms of factors, processes, or types/patterns of ISB and sub-analyzed by 9 aspects such as research method/ theoretical framework, context of ISB and vice versa. Korean research strategies for overcoming the limitation of ISB studies are to do holistic research approach capturing complexity and multidimention of ISB as well as to extend research objects. Also, it needs to construct substantive theories based upon korean phenomenon of ISB.

사용자-제품 간의 인터랙션 환경의 변화로 인해 사용자 행태 정보의 특성을 체계적으로 분석하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행 되고 있으며, 사용자 행태 연구의 접근 가능성 보다는 행태 정보를 UI 디자인 과정에 어떻게 적용할 것인지에 대한 연구가 더욱 중요해 지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미래 제품 개발 환경에서 효율적인 UI디자인을 위하여 사용자의 실 생활에서 수집된 사용자 행태 정보를 UI 디자인 설계 과정에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 모델링 방법을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 사용자 행태 정보가 갖고 있는 단계별 구조의 특성을 정의하고, 행태 정보의 구조 분석을 통해 미래 제품 개발 환경에서 제품 사용 단계별 적용 가능한UI 고려 요소 및 UI 해결 방안의 도출 과정을 가시화 시켜 주기 위한 UI 모델링 방법을 제안하였다. 사례 연구로 현재 현관문에서 발생하는 사용자 행태 정보에 UI 모델링을 적용하여 미래 환경에서 제공 가능한 GATE System의 UI 고려 요소 및 UI 해결 방안을 추출하여 적용 가능성을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between personal traits and information behavior theoretically. Personal traits are often represented by "major type of personality found in an ethnic group or society" and measured by both degrees of affection and dependency in this study. In turn, information behavior is used to include unique features in information needs, information seeking, information source preference, and information searching pattern in library and internet. The data was collected through a survey with 162 college freshmen, and analyzed for both frequency test and Chi-square test. The major research result shows that dependency rather than affection has a statistically meaningful relation with information behavior, in particular, information needs and source preference. Also made are several methodological suggestions for further research.

정보기술 도입과 관련된 주류 이론은 혁신확산이론과 기술수용모델이다. 특히 기술수용모델은 도입의사결정자가 합리적 사고를 한다는 전제가 이론 기저에 깔려 있다. 하지만, 실제 현실세계에서는 유행과 집단의식 등에 의해 정보기술을 도입하는 경우가 많다. ERP가 유행이면, 무조건 쫓아서 ERP를 도입하고, KM이 유행이면 또한 쫓아서 KM을 도입하는 현상이 보편적으로 일어나고 있다. 이러한 행태를 군집 행태라 한다. 군집행태는 정보에 대한 비대칭성이 커서 사람들이 느끼는 정보의 불확실성이 큰 경우에 사람들이 보이는 행태 중의 하나이다. 어느 한 사람이 특정한 행동을 하면 다른 사람들도 그를 따라 집단적으로 동일한 행동을 하는 것을 말한다. 그 사람이 왜 그러한 행동을 하는지를 알고 따라하는 것이 아니다. 그가 자신이 모르는 무엇인가를 알고 있다고 믿고 우선 따라 하는 것이 상책이라고 생각하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 정보기술의 도입과 관련된 군집행태에 영향을 주는 요인을 찾아내고자 한다.

This study analyzed the characteristics of library service users' information seeking behavior based on the grounded theory methodology. After interviewing twelve undergraduate students, the researcher coded the data based on the grounded theory methodology. As a result of the entire coding processes, this study constructed the library service users' information seeking behavior model. According to the model, the following ten factors are important when explaining library service users' information seeking behavior: the information users' environment, other people, users' experiences, recognition of information sources, information provided, memory, a need-creating environment, information gathering, information use, and satisfaction and/or dissatisfaction.

대학도서관의 정보기술 환경과 이용자의 정보기술 이용능력이 도서관 이용행태에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 규명하고자 한다. 본 연구는 독립변인으로 선정된 도서관 집단간의 비교와 이용자 집단간의 비교를 통한 비교실험을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 대학도서관의 정보기술 환경에 따른 도서관 정보기술 이용행태는 대체적으로 차이가 없으며 개인의 정보기술 이용능력에 따른 도서관 정보기술 이용행태는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study Is to Investigate unique features in the everyday information behavior of Korean Americans, in particular, the sub-group residing in the Mid-west area such as Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Major focus was on undercovering the impacts of ethnic identity and residential environment on their information behavior. The data for discussion were mainly collected by a full-scale survey and in-depth interviews. In Conclusion, suggested is the promotion of information welfare policies that are appropriate for the various and complicate information behaviors of ethnic minority groups(such as Korean Americans).

본 연구의 목적은 순간적 시간흐름 면담기법과 Think-Aloud 면담기법을 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들의 정보탐색행태를 파악하는 것이다. 이용자들의 정보탐색행태는 키워드 검색, 브라우징, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 활용의 세 가지 행태로 나타났다. 이를 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들이 검색과정에 겪는 문제점을 파악하고, 향후 이용자의 요구사항을 반영한 클래식음악 검색시스템 설계에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

This study compared the everyday-life information behaviors of urban and rural adolescents to suggest ways that school library information services can better meet the information needs of each of these groups. It focused its comparison not only on the everyday-life information-seeking behaviors but also on kinds of information grounds and barriers forming information grounds. Two qualitative methods, written activity logs and semi-structured in-depth interviews, were used to examine everyday-life information behaviors of adolescents. It is expected that the proposed strategies will be used in planning actual school library information services for urban or rural youths.
