각종 첨단기술의 급격한 발진으로 정보활동의 효율성이 향상되었고, 정보화 현상이 더욱 보편화되면서 정보전문가들에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있으며, 그들의 역할과 능력도 재평가되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정보환경 변화에 따른 정보전문직의 역할을 규명하고, 정보전문직에게 요구되는 지식과 기술을 분석하고자 한다. 이에 더하여 정보전문직의 능력에 관한 설문 결과를 분석함으로써 정보전문직에 대한 시대적 요구와 현장의 요구를 파악하며, 궁극적으로는 21C 사회, 문화, 정보기능을 담당할 정보전문직 양성에 이바지하고자 한다.

The purpose of this research is to compare the present education for information professionals in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It is intended to find out how the differences in the professional organization's role on the education and the educational institution's status of the two countries influence on the professional education. The research was done through the reviews of literature searched and the analyses of the data on the web-based home pages of the institutions concerned. It is concluded that the differences have caused the different educational patterns of the countries. The similarities and differences are interpreted and some suggestions are provided.

The Study focused on the four areas First, the Study examined the changing identity of the LIS Professionals, and change in LIS curricula. Second, the study addressed the transition from the traditional library to the virtual model. Third, the study asked how the traditional technical service of LIS professionals is changing to user-centered service. Finally, the study viewed the skills and the roles of the LIS professionals.

This paper attempts to answer to the question of whether the information professional holds assertive culture enough to accomodate knowledge management paradigm in its current identity and future role. Observations of the current culture made by inside and outside the discipline of library and information science are first reviewed. Results from interviews with practicing academic librarians follow. Suggestions for further studies are provided in the conclusion.

The purpose of this article is to discuss on the professionalism of librarianship in Korea. The discussion begins with exploring the conditions which are required for an occupation to be recognized as a profession. The theoretical foundations for discussion is borrowed from 'Theory of Profession' in Sociology. In turn, systematically verified are both public image and librarians' self-confession on librarianship. The weakness and shortcomings of librarianship as a profession are also investigated. Finally suggested we both strategies and methods for the librarianship in Korea to be professionalized.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between professional self-concept, sense of ethics and performance of protecting patient privacy of nurses in the hospital. The subjects are 196 nurses who have been working in general hospitals in K province in Korea and the data collection period was from June 1 to July 5 in 2018. As a result, The score of each variables were like this: professional self-concept 2.62, sense of ethics 2.93 and performance of protecting patient privacy 3.69. It was confirmed that the factors which affect to the performance of protecting patient privacy are ethical awareness and professional self-concept of the nurses. and these explained 30% of that performance. Therefore, it need to develop and adapt the education programs to improve the sense of ethics and professional self-concept of nurses which can help them to increase their performance of protecting patient privacy and to add, we suggest that there need a mandatory system for nurses to receive conservative education about the practice of protecting patient privacy.

본 연구에서는 단순노무직, 판매직, 전문직에 종사하는 피험자를 대상으로 100%의 basil oil, lavender oil, lemon oil, jasmine oil, ylang-ylang oil (KIMEX co. Ltd, Korea), skatole (TAKASAGO co. Ltd, Japan)등 총 6가지 종류의 천연향에 대한 두뇌의 정보량 흐름을 파악하기 위해 상호 정보량을 검토하였다. 그 결과, 전문직에서는 상호 정보량의 유의한 변화가 전두엽 사이(F3F4)에서 나타난 반면, 단순노무직과 판매직에서는 전두엽(F3F4), 두정엽(P3P4), 측두엽(T5T6) 사이에서 모두 나타났다. 두 직종과 비교하여 전문직이 주로 외부 자극에 대한 고차원적 기능을 담당하는 전두엽영역의 정보량에서 유의한 변화를 보인 것은 향을 전문적으로 구분하고, 확인하는 그들의 직업적 특성을 반영한 결과라 추측된다. 또한, 단순노무직과 달리, 전문직과 판매직은 선호도가 낮은 향에서 상호 정보량이 증가하는 경향을 보여, 향 관련 종사자들의 선호도와 상호 정보량간의 관련성을 시사하였다.

The Korean Librarian Association was established in 1990 for the professionalization of the librarian in Korea. So far there has been no research with the association as a main subject in spite of its importance in the history of Korean Libraries. In this study, we attempt to investigate the meaning and the importance of the association from the view point of professionalism. As a professional association, the Korean Librarian Association tried to get professional autonomy from the governing bodies and the market to reach higher level in professionalization. But the activities of the association has been radically declined since 1997, which would be affected by the character of librarianship that is mainly based not on individual characteristics but on organizational characteristics.

The purpose of this study was to measure the professional identity level of public librarians and to identify related factors. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted for librarians in public libraries in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from October 28 to November 18, 2021 and 375 valid responses collected were analyzed. As a result of the study, among the factors of professional identity public librarians showed high level of professional identity in order of belief in self-regulation, sense of calling to the field, belief in public service, using the professional organization as a major referent, and autonomy. In addition, librarian's age, career, position and whether the director of the library was a librarian had a statistically significant difference in professional identity. This study has a significance in that the Hall Professionalism Inventory was used to measure participants' professional identity and it associates domestic public libraries' settings with professional identity.
