  • Data outsourcing utilizing the Cloud faces a problem of the third-party exposure, modulation, and reliability for the provided computational delegation results. In order to solve those problematic security issues, homomorphic encryption(HE) which executes calculation and analysis on encrypted data becomes popular. By extension, a new type of HE with a authentication functionality, homomorphic authenticated encryption(HAE) is suggested. However, a research on the HAE is on the initial stage. Furthermore, based on a message authenticated scheme with HE, the method and analysis to design is still absent. This paper aims to analyze an HAE, with a generic combination of a message authenticated scheme and a HE, known as "Encrypt with Authentication". Following a series of analysis, we show that by adopting a unforgeable message authenticated scheme, the generically constructed HAE demonstrated an unforgeability as well. Though, a strong unforgeability is not the case. This paper concludes that although indistinguishable HE can be applied to design the HAE, a security issue on the possibility of indistinguishability is still not satisfied.

The proposed ITSM organization structures will be useful for public sectors.

  • The development of IT has led to increase the business's dependence on IT and the interests of enterprises on IT governance. Also, more enterprises have adopted managed services to save operating costs in IT departments and to maximize their business efficiency. However, until recently, there are very few academic as well as practical researches regarding managed services, IT service effectiveness, IT governance and their interrelations. This study analyzes the effects of managed services on IT governance based on the IT-BSC (Balanced Scorecard) model. Using the expert FGI (Focus Group Interview) and survey, the research results present that managed services have the most significant effect on the user-oriented and the operational efficiency in enterprises. Also, managed services through the business process standardization can improve the IT governance more effectively. This study will be a relevant guideline for enterprises that will adopt managed services.

  • The Changes in management environment in SMEs such as rapid development of information communication technology, worldwide expansion of FTAs, enlargement of global outsourcing, etc have changed various aspects in industry-academy or industry-academy-government cooperation. It has been away from the cooperation focused on research and development and industrial training, and advanced to the cooperation focused on the business fields and practices where the executive ability and professionalism are required to commercialize major products of local SMEs. Compared with the existing model, the new model of industry-academy-government cooperation can provide effective and customized supports to local SMEs and expect better performance than ever before through the choice and focus. However, the existing support programs of government and related organizations are just top-down pattern to SMEs. In addition to the development of industrial technology, education and training for labor force and knowledge interchange between industry and university, the new cooperation model would also provide practical tasks such as enhancement of business competences and abilities to cultivate foreign markets. This study deals with Gyeongbuk PRIDE Products support project that is the new model of industry-academy-government cooperation and evaluates the effectiveness of this support project by empirically analyzing the survey results from the target SMEs.

  • This study is empirically intended to put forward the modeling and process improvement measures for the SCM capability in small venture firms. The findings are summarized as follows. There were strategic alliance, technological development and centralization in the modeling of strategic planning for supply chain, not the least of which is strategic alliance, followed by centralization and technological development. There were routing scheduling, network integration and third party logistics outsourcing in decision making, not the least of which was network integration. There were customer service management, productivity management and quality management in management control, not the least of which was quality management. And there were order management choice, pricing demand, shipment delivery and customer management in transaction support system, not the least of which was order management choice. As for the above-mentioned findings, to maximize the SCM capability and operate the optimized process in small venture firms, the existing strategic alliances can optimize the quality management and stabilize the transaction support system through the network sharing and integration from the perspective of relevant organizational members' capability and process improvement. And the strategic linkage between firms can maximize the integrated capability of information system beyond the simple exchange relation between electronic data, achieving a differentiated competitive advantage. Consequently, the systematization and centralization for the maximization of SCM capability, including the infrastructure construction based on the system compatibility and reliability for information integration, should be preceded before the modeling of the integrated capability for optimum supply chain and the best process management in the smart era.

The objectives of this study are to analyze factors influencing the operation for the sites(we call, 'internet shopping mall') which small-and-medium sized firms have built, and to provide the general directions of the successful internee-based business for the small-and-medium sized firms. This paper reports the case studies in which the internet-based electronic commerce practices of 6 small-and-medium sized firms were examined over a 3 month period. In the meantime, this paper reports their present business condition, system environment, positioning, marketing strategy, forward business expectation, and market barrier. This study also focuses on two environmental dimensions of system development; One dimension is on-line only or off-line widened, and the other is self-built or outsourcing. The results found in this study are as follows: 1. The internet shopping mall broadens the company's activity to new business areas. 2. The degree of system outsourcing of the small-medium size company depends on its IT ability and resource capability 3. The marketing strategies on their internet shopping mall differentiate with their business area and market environment. 4. Each interviewed company has its own success and failure factors, in addition to the general factors. 5. Each interviewed company has a positive response for their internet shopping mall for its future. 6. The lack of capital, technology, and government support is the barrier to the improvement of the internet shopping mall system.

  • This research suggests the direction realizing design business which means that designers overcome traditional role of passive design development and pursue active and subjective design development and eventually accomplish high profit by various sources except design development fee. For this, designers should be able to suggest highly successful design alternatives not by performing subjective aesthetic process but objective and scientific design development process through market-oriented information seeking, scientific design development and effective design management etc. In addition, designers should cultivates design business mind maximizing profit by various sources such as royalty, management fee and commission fee through exercising ownership, or participating distribution process and for outsourcing tasks. Regarding companies' side, they need to overcome existing manufacturing-based business paradigm focusing on rather material development, R&D, facility establishment than design or marketing, and to build design-centered business management system which menas the prior investment in design including needs identification of consumers.

  • This study explores the determinants and processes of IT consolidation of Korean conglomerates. Through an extensive analysis of cases, this study identifies the drivers, benefits and critical success factors of IT consolidation, and observes the transition of vision for the IT service subsidiaries in the conglomerates. The results show that most firms in this analysis have completed the organizational, physical, and logical consolidation of their IT resources, and currently some of them are preparing for the next stage of IT consolidation such as rational consolidation and virtualization. It is also found that the strategic factor was one of the most significant determinants in consolidating IT resources which leaded the transition of vision of the IT service firms in the conglomerates from "cost center" to "profit center". The results of this study can provide a fundamental and empirical basis for building a theory of IT consolidation, and be used as a valuable benchmarking model for the organizations which consider starting a project of IT consolidation.

K public corporation strengthened IT planning task instead of reducing operational IT task, improved IT management process which was lower than other companies, and improved IT outsourcing management system and IT users' satisfactions. This research has practical implications for many companies which struggle with IT organization redesign method and process.
