A Meta-analysis and Review of External Factors based on the Technology Acceptance Model : Focusing on the Journals Related to Smartphone in Korea (기술수용모델 선행요인에 관한 문헌적 고찰 및 메타분석)

  • A Meta-analysis refers to a statistical literature synthesis method from the quantitative results of many known empirical studies. We conducted a meta-analysis and review of external factors based on the technology acceptance model for Smartphone-related researches. This study surveyed 106 research papers that established causal relationships in the technology acceptance model published in Korean academic journals during 2008 and 2013. The result of the meta-analysis might be summarized that the playfulness has the highest effect size in the path from external factors to the perceived usefulness, with the effect size(0.536). Also the self efficacy showed the highest effect size(0.626) in the path from external factors to the perceived ease of use. Based on these findings, several theoretical and practical implications were suggested and discussed with the difference from previous researches.

  • Telematics is a compound word derived from telecommunication and informatics, which provides wireless data service such as traffic information, living information, remote control, maintenance and etc. in a vehicle using GPS(Global Positioning System) and telecommunication. Telematics acceptance was investigated to analyze characteristics of telematics service and its market by using a theoretical technology acceptance model based on literature review. In this paper, valid factors, influencing telematics service acceptance, have been drawn in terms of user ease-of-use, usefulness and service characteristics. Modified measuring variables were used by referring to previous researches.

  • Given the increasing of adoption of use of Mobile Wireless Technology(MWT), this study aims at investigating the key influencing determinants of individuals' MWT adoption and use. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM), the research model proposed new constructs and casual relations, Perceived Safety(PS), Perceived Costs(PC), Company's Willingness to Fund(CWF), and Experience(E) as a moderator. The model was tested using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) using AMOS 5.0 analysis on the sample collected from 387 MBA and Executive MBA students of several domestic and foreign universities. The results show that not only the variables, except Perceived Usefulness, in the original TAM model, but also new variables in the research model had a significant influence on other variables. The implications of the findings suggest a new theoretical framework for future IS/IT research and offers suggestions that the developers of MWT should consider regarding the technology

  • This study analyzed the factors that influence the domestic SMEs that have introduced smart factories on their intention to accept at a higher level for qualitative advancement. 375 copies collected through an online survey were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS with UTAUT and the extended two-stage information system continuous model. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions have a statistically significant effect on user satisfaction and user satisfaction and CEO's will have an effect on the intention to accept the advancement. However, the suppliers' technology didn't have a direct effect on the advancement acceptance intention and user satisfaction has a mediating effect between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions and the advancement acceptance intention. SME's advancement for smart factory, it is important to improve the satisfaction level and the CEO's will to become smart.

A Meta-analysis of Relationship between Constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model: Focusing on the Research Papers Published for Smartphone in Korea Journals (기술수용모델 개념 간의 관계에 대한 메타분석: 우리나라 학회지에 게재된 스마트폰 연구 중심으로)

  • A meta-analysis is a statistical literature synthesis method that provides the opportunity to view the research context by combining and analyzing the quantitative results of many empirical studies. The technology acceptance model (TAM) has been the subjects of a great deal of MIS research in the last two decades and now also has been continuously studied. Recently, the convergence of knowledge information society and information telecommunication technologies has a rapid impact on politics, economics and various fields. The biggest issue in the information communication and information systems fields is smart. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis research on the behavioral intention of smart phone users based on technology acceptance model. Also, this study was targeted a total of 50 research papers that are setting up the causal relationship in TAM among the research papers published in domestic academic journals since 2005. The result of the meta analysis, showed that the effect size was 0.48 in the path from perceived usefulness to behavioral intention, it showed that the effect size was 0.46 in the path from perceived ease of use to behavioral intention. And, it showed that the effect size was 0.46 in the path from perceived ease of use to perceived usefulness. Also, it showed that the effect size was 0.61 in the path from attitude to behavioral intention. Based on the results, it was discussed the difference through comparative analysis with previous research.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a conceptual model for the tourism application of the block chain consensus construct and to test the intention of technology acceptance of potential consumers. First, we have tried to investigate the security, reliability, functionality was derived. Secondary, structural validation of the proposed model confirmed the factors influencing the acceptance of block chain technology in terms of consumers. Based on this, we apply the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to evaluate. Individual innovation and block-chain technology have a strong causal relationship with the proposed block chain acceptance intentions based on the Hybrid Block Chain Consensus system, which shows strong innovation and strong cognitive status. In addition, the factors directly affecting the acceptance of block-chain are the benefits expected from the block chain, the technical infrastructure required to use the service, the perceived benefits available. The influence of the surrounding environment on the adoption of technology and ease of use on new technology did not affect the acceptance intention significantly.

  • This study analyzed the factors influencing users' intention to use the Metaverse by applying the extended technology acceptance model. In other words, the factors affecting users' intention to use the Metaverse were defined as technical characteristics (telepresence, interoperability, seamlessness, concurrence, and economy flow) and personal characteristics (social influence and perceived enjoyment) from the perspective of the Extended Technology Acceptance Model. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among men and women of various ages ranging from teenagers to 60s, and the data collected from 327 participants were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and Smart PLS 4.0. The results showed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, which are antecedents of the Extended Technology Acceptance Model, influence the intention to use Metaverse, and perceived ease of use influences perceived usefulness. Telepresence, interoperability and economy flow were found to have a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and interoperability, seamlessness and concurrence were found to have a positive effect on perceived ease of use. In addition, social influence and perceived enjoyment had a positive effect on intention to use the Metaverse. This study is significant in that it empirically analyzed the factors of users' acceptance of the Metaverse, which is attracting attention as a new platform that will bring significant changes to our daily lives and platform consumption environments.

Influencing Factors for the Acceptance of Open Access Institutional Repository Using the Integrated Technology Diffusion Model (기술확산 통합모델을 통한 개방형 기관 리포지터리 수용의 영향요인 분석)

  • For the spread of the open access institutional repository in Korea, this study aims to analyze the factors affecting the acceptance of the repository. To gather the research data, a questionnaire survey was conducted for acceptance and non-acceptance institutions of the open access repositories. The questionnaire consisted of questions based on the revised R-TDM. Integrated Technology Diffusion Model is a theory that seeks to explain how, why, and at what rate new technology and innovations spread through specific factors and cultures. According to the data analyzing, technology acceptance level of social factors was turned out the most effective factors to make a decision to accept the repository to their institutions. And institution factors, innovation resistance factors, and system factors were arranged in order of strong influence. This study will provides the basis for developing policies for dissemination and spread of repositories in Korea.

  • Previous studies, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Post Acceptance Model (PAM) have a little limitation in time series analysis. To solve this limitation, we used system dynamics as research methodology and designed simulation model based on TAM and PAM. Moreover, we designed new simulation model which can analyize time series data in customers' demand change from initial acceptance to post acceptance. This study targeted domestic mobile phone market. The simulation results showed that diffusion graph was similar to real data. That means we validated our simulation model. Since the simulation model offers the graph of customer's demand change by time, so it can be useful as a leaning tool. Therefore, we think this study helps IT companies use the model for forecasting of market demand.

An Integrated Model for the YouTube 'Mukbang' Content use Motivation and Continuous Use Intention: Focusing on Uses and Gratifications Approach and Technology Acceptance Model (유튜브 '먹방' 콘텐츠 이용 동기와 지속이용의도 통합모델: 이용과 충족접근, 기술수용모델을 중심으로)

  • This study examines the motivation for using YouTube 'mukbang' content by integrating the use and satisfaction approach and the technology acceptance model, and identified the determinants that affect the continuous use intention. A survey was conducted on 358 YouTube 'mukbang' content users, and major results were derived through exploratory/confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program and the AMOS 21.0 program. The main results are presented as follows. First, information seeking motive, stress relief motive, and time spending motive had a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and information seeking motive and time spending motive had a positive effect on perceived ease of use. Second, information seeking motivation, stress relief motivation, and time spending motivate had a positive effect on perceived enjoyment and perceived novelty. Third, perceived enjoyment did not have a significant effect on perceived usefulness. Fourth, both perceived enjoyment and perceived novelty had a positive effect on continuous use intention. Fifth, perceived ease of use had a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness had a positive effect on continuous use intention. This study will have academic significance in that it elaborates a model that can identify the continuous use of YouTube 'mukbang' content by integrating the uses and gratifications approach, and technology acceptance model. Future follow-up studies should contribute to the refinement of models related to the determinants of the intention to continue using YouTube's 'mukbang' content through an attempt to integrate various models.
