Visualizing Korean economic statistics (우리나라 경제통계 시각화의 현황과 과제)

  • Economic statistics such as GDP, consumer prices, balance of payments, and unemployment rates are regularly measured over time. One of the best way to understand economic statistics is to visualize economic statistics as a picture. This makes it easier to grasp patterns of economic statistics and to communicate with users. The web technologies and the visualization tools make it possible to create dynamic and interactive visualization of economic statistics. Statistics Korea and the Bank of Korea provide various data visualization relating to official statistics such as infographics and dynamic charts. This paper presents an overview of visualization of Statistics Korea and the Bank of Korea. It also discusses a future direction to explore the visualization of Korean economic statistics.

Educational Needs Analysis of General Security Jobs in Physical Protection Field using the DACUM Technique (DACUM기법을 활용한 물리적방호 분야 일반보안 직무의 교육 요구분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the main subjects of the job-based curriculum by deriving the job analysis results of general security job workers in the physical protection field responsible for responding to threats to nuclear materials and nuclear facilities. In the job analysis stage, FGI was conducted on 7 content experts to derive 8 duties and 55 tasks. In addition, knowledge and skills were drawn for each task. In the analysis of educational needs, surveys were conducted for workers in general security jobs to derive the top 25 educational priorities through t-test and Borich needs assess model. At the stage of selecting core tasks and organizing required/optional contents, 42 tasks, both above average or at least one of them, were derived as core tasks based on the result of evaluation of importance and difficulty ratings of 55 tasks through a questionaire. In addition, tasks applied to the top 25 rankings derived from Borich needs assess model were applied as the required contents when designing courses, and tasks which applied only one of them were selected as optional contents. At the stage of required/optional modules and educational contents, four required modules and five optional modules were derived by drifting similar tasks between the required and optional contents. Based on the above results, the study suggested academic and practical implications and future suggestions.

A Study on Secondary Students' Perceptions and Self-Efficacy of the Performance Assessments in the Science Subject (과학과 수행평가에 관한 중등학생의 인식 및 자아효능감 조사)

  • This study was performed to analyze the secondary students' perceptions and self-efficacy of performance assessments in the science subject. The data was obtained from 236 middle school students and 222 high school students in seoul. The students had generally proper understanding about characteristics of performance assessment which include purposes of assessment and differences from other conventional achievement assessments. They responded that the performance assessments were not useful in their science learning and developing their potential abilities. They were not satisfied with reliability and validity of the performance assessments. The middle school students more positively responded than high school students regarding the reliability of the scoring system and the originality of the evaluating materials. The female students more positively thought than males about the reliability of assessment and the usefulness for learning science. The students' self-efficacy level of performance assessment were not low in comparison with another existing assessments. They had high level of self-efficacy in understanding of experimental procedures, and utilizing of experimental apparatuses, but had low level of self-efficacy in understanding purposes of experiments or issues of discussions, processing of experimental results, answering of problems in experimental discussions. The female students' self-efficacy of performance assessment were higher than male students'. There was statistically correlated with females' scores and their level of self-efficacy of performance assessment.

The Coastal Geomorphology in General of Korea - Research Trends and Issues - (한국의 지형학 연구 - 해안지형 일반 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to review research trends and issues of coastal geomorphology in general of Korea, which is divided into two periods; the former and later periods of 1990s when The Korean Geomorphological Society was established. In this study, coastal geomorphology in general refers to the landforms except tidal flats and coastal terraces. The descriptive statistics of research papers published in 5 major geography journals since 1990s were computed and these papers were classified according to their main subjects. The methodology for coastal landform study was analyzed by sub-fields of landform change and sediment analysis. The study of coastal geomorphology in Korea started from around 1970s and has progressed significantly in terms of the scope and the number of papers published since 1990s. There is few paper published in 1990s on coastal geomorphology in general, but so many research has achieved and came to be the major part of coastal geomorphology study since 2000s. Further methodology is necessary for morphodynamics study in the future.

A Study on the Analysis of College Student's Information Problem Solving Process in Team Project Activities (대학생의 과제 중심 정보문제 해결과정 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the importance of team based learning has emerged as the method for conducting the constructivist learning theory. College students, however, have the low preference toward team projects. Thus, this research suggested that the information literacy education should be designed to overcome the problems in team project activities after analyzing the college students' information problem solving process. The in-depth interviews were conducted twice with 10 subjects. As a result, the main problems during team project activities were task definition, judgement on relevant information, evaluation of result and process, absence of accountability and synthesis. The recommendations for information literacy course are as follows: introduction to different types of information sources, support for communication problems between team members, education of credibility judgment on information and criteria for evaluating the results.

  • The purpose of this study is to review what we have done and to identify what we have to do to be successful with Web archiving which is important to preserve our cultural heritage for the next generation. Some characteristics of Web resources as information sources were identified and some difficulties with Web archiving were discussed. The outcome of national and/or international Web archiving projects including Kurturarw3, PANDORA and Internet Archive were reviewed. Policy issues and technological problems of Web archiving we have to solve were listed.

고문서 용어해설(상)

  • 주: 고문서는 그 의미가 대체로 문자로써 표현되어 있는 것이요, 동시에 이를 발급한 여자는 아울러 이를 받을 대상인 수자, 즉 주객과 대상사이에 어떤 작용을 미치는 요건이 구비되어 있는 갑오경장 이전의 문서를 지칭한다. 고문서는 사학연구에 있어서 중요한 위치를 점유하고 있는데, 그 자체가 사료, 내지는 법률적인 의미에서 가치가 높이 평가되고 있기 때문이다. 우리나라에 있어서 고문서의 분포상황을 보면 대체로 서울대학교 부속도서관에 60,000매, 국립중앙도서관에 13,000매, 연세대학교 도서관에 15,000매, 고려대학교 도서관에 10,000매, 영남대학교 도서관에 5,000매, 장서각에 건기 1,000점이 수장되어 있다. 이러한 고문서의 충분한 연구가 수반되어 활용되어야 함은 물론이다. 그러나 귀중한 사료로서의 고문서에 대한 정리가 아직도 이루어지고 있지 못하다. 더우기 도서관에 있어서 고문서의 분류표, 내지는 기술목록법에 관한 기준조차도 설정되어 있지 못하다. 우리나라 도서관에 있어서 고문서의 정리, 말하자면 부류, 목록을 위한 선행과제로써 고문서의 용어에 대한 간략한 해설을 소개코자 하는 것이다.

  • 한국은 지금까지 정보기술이 국가 발전에 큰 역할을 해 왔으며 그 성과도 인정받고 있다. 특히 전자정부 수준, 정보화 인프라, 준비도 등은 이미 세계적 수준에 진입한 상태이다. 하지만 최근 주변상황 변화에 따라 '국가 정보화의 방향성 재정립'을 요구 받고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 시대적 상황에 부응하기 위한 방향 모색과 방안을 정리하고자 한다. 접근 방법은 아키텍처의 시각과 개념을 활용한다. 이와 함께 기존의 공공부문 정보화 추진의 내용과 함의를 조망해 본다. 그리고 새로운 정부의 IT관련 공약과 국정과제 등 정보화와 관련된 내용을 정리 한다. 이것은 아키텍처의 틀 속에서 비용편익과 정보화접근 관점을 기준으로 분석한다. 분석의 결과는 향후에 국가 정보화의 추진 방향과 체계, 사업을 재설계하는데 참조가 되었으면 한다. 그리고 새롭게 국가와 공공 정보화 기본전략 및 청 사진을 그리는데 필요한 아이디어 도출과 시사점이 되었으면 한다.
