Effect of Seed Coating Layer on the Microstructure of NaA Zeolite Separation Layer Grown on ${\alpha}$-alumina Support (종결정 코팅층이 다공성 ${\alpha}$-알루미나 지지체 표면에 성장되는 NaA 제올라이트 분리층의 미세구조에 미치는 영향)

  • NaA zeolite/${\alpha}$-alumina composite membranes were hydrothermally synthesized at $100^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr by using nanosize seed of 100 nm in diameter and an ${\alpha}$-alumina support of $0.1{\mu}m$ in pore diameter, and then effect of seed coating layer on the microstructure of NaA zeolite separation layer was systematically investigated. In cases when nanosize seed was coated with a monolayer, increment in seed coverage induced small grained and thick NaA zeolite separation layer. On the other hand, in case when nanosize seed was coated with a multilayer, much small grained and thick separation layer was formed. It was clear that an uniform monolayer seed coating is required to grow hydrothermally a thin and defect-free NaA zeolite separation layer. In the present study, it was clearly announced that seed coating layer is a key factor to determine the microstructure of NaA zeolite layer, secondary grown on a porous support.

Physicochemical Characteristics of Ginseng JungKwa Produced with Hot-Water Extract from Maegmundong (Liriope platyphylla tubers) (맥문동 열수추출액을 이용한 인삼정과의 품질 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the quality characteristics of ginseng JungKwa produced with hot-water extract from Maegmundong (MGJ) instead of sugar. Chemical characteristics of MGJ and control ginseng JungKwa produced by sucrose (CGJ) were measured by proximate constituents, free sugars, ginsenosides, total phenolic compound, flavonoid content, and antioxidative activity was measured by electron donating abilities and hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity. Carbohydrate, crude protein, crude ash contents of MGJ were 76.40, 1.46 and 3.49%, where as those of CGJ were 80.01, 0.59 and 0.96%. Free sugar compositions of MGJ were fructose (32.42%), oligosaccharide (16.91%), disaccharide (13.91%) and glucose (13.16%). Eleven ginsenosides types were detected on MGJ and 9 kinds on CGJ; their contents were 740.1 and 675.6 mg%, respectively. Total phenolic compound and flavonoid content were 5.46 and 0.016% on MGJ, 5.02 and 0.014% on CGJ, respectively. In physiological characteristics, the $IC_{50}$ of electron donating ability by DPPH on MGJ was about 34.5 mg/mL and ability was slightly higher than CGJ, although there's not much difference in ability between MGJ and CGJ. Hydrogen peroxide scavenging activities were 92% on MGJ and 96% on CJG when treated at $50{\mu}g$/mL.

Development and Quality Characteristics of Lotus Root Jeonggwa Admixed with Omija (the Medicinal Herb Schizandra chinensis Baillon) Extract during Storage (오미자첨가 연근정과의 제조와 저장중 품질 변화)

  • We sought to develop lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) root Jeonggwa as a health food. Jeonggwa was mixed with 0-8% (w/w) Omija water extract and stored at $25^{\circ}C$ for 12 weeks. Quality characteristics during storage were investigated. The pH of Jeonggwa fell, and the acidity level rose, as increasing amounts of Omija water extract were added. The moisture content of Jeonggwa rose from 7-8% to 14-17% within 2 weeks of storage at $25^{\circ}C$, and was maintained at that level to the end of storage. Total viable bacterial cells in Jeonggwa were initially 2.4~3.2 log CFU/g, and increased in number during storage, but never exceeded 4 log CFU/g. The shelf life of Jeonggwa was extended when Omija extract was added. The lightness (L), redness (a). and yellowness (b) of Jeonggwa during storage at $25^{\circ}C$ were highest in control samples and the values fell with increasing Omija extract concentration (p<0.001). Mechanical evaluation Jeonggwa showed that various tested parameters fell during storage at $25^{\circ}C$. The hardness and strength of Jeonggwa were significantly reduced as the Omija extract concentration rose (p<0.05). In sensory evaluation tests, the acceptability of Jeonggwa was optimal when 2~4% (w/w) Omija extract was added.

고투수성 점토질 자갈층에서 수리전도도와 종분산지수의 규모종속효과

  • 대수층의 저유량이 풍부한 강변여과수 개발 예정지역의 충적충(지표면하 25$\sim$35 m 구간)에서 수리전도도와 증분산지수의 규모종속효과를 규명하기 위해 양수시험과 수렴흐름 추적자시험이 수행되었다. 양수시험과 추적자시험의 규모는 2 m 와 5 m 이었으며 양수시험은 5개 공, 추적자시험은 3개 공을 이용하여 수행되었다. 양수시험은 일정한 양수율(2,500 m$^3$/day)로 수행되었으며, 양수 시작 후 경과시간에 따른 수위변화 자료를 AQTESOLV 3.5 프로그램에 입력하여 해석하였다. 시험대수층의 수리전도도는 양수정에서 1.745$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec, 양수정에서 이격거리가 2 m 구간에서는 2.161$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec와 2.270$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec 이었으며, 이격거리가 5 m 구간에서는 2.452$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec와 2.591$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec로 산정되었다. 그리고, 양수정에서 회복시험 시 Theis(Recovery) 방법에 의해 해석된 수리전도도는 1.603$\times$10$^{-3}$ m/sec이었다. 양수정에서 관측정의 이격거리(d)에 따른 수리전도도(K) 증가함수는 log K = 0.0693logd-2.071와 log K = 0.08171og d-2.655로 추정되었으며, 결정계수는 각각 0.965와 0.979로서 매우 높게 나타났다. 따라서 양수정에서의 이격거리가 멀수록 수리전도도가 증가하는 규모종속을 확인하였으며, 또한 시험대수층의 수리전도도가 방사상으로 유사하게 분포하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 수렴흐름 추적자시험의 양수율은 2,500 m$^3$/day 이었으며, 2개의 주입정에 염소이온 5 kg을 순간 주입하였다. 염소이온의 농도이력곡선을 작성하여 초기도달시간과 최고농도의 차이를 분석하였으며, 누적질량회수곡선을 통해 양수 후 경과시간에 따른 염소이온의 질량회수율을 분석하였다. 그리고, 염소이온농도 대 누적질량회수율의 이력그래프를 작성하여 누적질량회수율에 따른 염소이온농도의 증가와 감소 변화를 분석하였다. 또한, 염소이온농도의 증가/감소 구간에 대한 선형회귀분석을 수행하여 농도 증가율과 감소율의 변화를 파악하였다. 양수정에서 관측된 경과시간별 염소이온농도 자료를 CATTI 코드의 "Converging Radial Flow With Instantaneous Injection" 해석법에 적용하여 종분산지수를 추정하였다. 양수정에서 이격거리가 2 m인 경우의 종분산지수는 0.4152 m, 이격거리가 5 m인 경우의 종분산지수는 3.2665 m 이었다. 따라서 양수정에서 이격거리가 멀수록 종분산지수가 증가하는 규모종속효과를 확인하였으며, 또한 이격거리에 대한 종분산지수의 비는 각각 0.21과 0.65 정도로서 증가하였다.

Effect of Soumin Seonghyangjeongkisan Extract on Blood Pressure and Regional Cerebral Blood Flow in Rats (소음인(少陰人) 성향정기산(星香正氣散)이 백서(白鼠)의 혈압(血壓) 및 국소뇌혈류량(局所腦血流量)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • 1. Purpose : For many years, Soumin Seonghyangjeongkisan(少陰人 星香正氣散, SJ) has been used in Sasang(四象) constitutional medicine as a therapeutic agent for cerebral disease. The effects of SJ on the vascular system is not well-know. The purpose of this study is to make it clear the effects of SJ and composing drugs on blood pressure(BP) and regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF). 2. Method : We measured BP with Pressure Transducer, rCBF with Laser-Doppler flowmeter. Propranolo and methylene blue were used to determine the mechanisms of SJ effects. 3. Results and Conclusion : BP was not affected by SJ in rats, and rCBF was significantly increased by SJ in rats. rCBF was increased by Folium Perillae(蘇葉), Rhizoma Atractylodis(蒼朮), Pericarpium Arecae(大腹皮) and Rhizoma Arisaematic(南星), but decreased by Radix Saussurea(木香) in rats. The increase of rCBF is mediated by adrenergic ${\beta}-receptor$ and guanylyl cyclase which is enzyme producing cyclic GMP.
