Modeling and Applications for Contact Response of Figerpad (손끝 접촉반응의 모델링과 응용)

  • 손끝으로 물건을 문지르거나 잡아 질감을 느끼는 경우 나타나는 현상을 Hertzian 접촉이론을 응용하여 수학적인 모델링을 하였다. 물체표면에 손끝이 접촉하여 눌러지게되면 변형이 일어나게 되고 변형된 모양과 정도에 따라 촉감을 느끼게 된다. 손끝은 비선형으로 변형되므로 누르는 변위에 따라 탄성계수 값이 변하는 현상을 실험을 통하여 확인하였으며 모델링한 식과 비교한 결과 유사한 경향을 보였다. 특히 손끝이 직물을 누르며 문지를 때 힘이 크기변화를 측정하여 질감표현과의 관계를 분석하였다.

  • The encounter probability graph is measured by the chance(in percent) that a vehicle, blindly moving through a minefield, will detonate a mine. The encounter probability graph versus minefield density is presented in ROK and US Army field manual but this graph is baseless because these data had not been presented as those of live mobility or wargame. In this paper, we verified this graph building procedure model as using computer program. The result values of program are almost like those of graph. Therefore this model for our to suggest have validation, verification that a modeling demand and we convince that this model will be useful for calculating encounter probability of multiple vehicles.

  • 본 연구에서는 차체의 충돌해석 및 모델링을 위하여 판/쉘 요소의 자동생성 모듈을 개발하고 재료의 변형특성 모델링 모듈 및 접촉처리 모듈을 개발하였다. 충돌해석용 전처리기능으로는 평면, 실린더 곡면, B-스플라인 곡면 및 블렌딩 (blending) 곡면상에서의 사각형 요소망 자동생성 기법과 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 차체를 구성하고 있는 여러가지 재료들의 변형거동을 모델링하여 개발중인 충돌해석전용프로그램인 Autocrash의 모듈로서 완성하였다. 이들은 변형률속도의 영향이 고려된 탄소성 재료, 강체 재료, 포옴 재료 및 이방성 재료등으로 정면충돌 해석 및 측면충돌 해석에 필요하다. 한편 접촉처리 모듈에서 접촉탐색법으로는 주종탐색법과 HITA 알고리즘을 병행하여 사용할 수 있도록 프로그래밍하였으며, 불침투 조건의 처리는 벌칙함 수법을 이용하였다.

Simulation of Ratcheting in Wheel-Rail Contact (차륜-레일 구름접촉에 의한 라체팅 모델링)

  • Ratcheting is a cyclic accumulation of strain under a cyclic loading. It is a kind of mechanisms which generate cracks in rail steels. Though some experimental and numerical study has been performed, modeling of ratcheting is still a challenging problem. In this study, an elastic-plastic constitutive equation with non-linear kinematic hardening equation was applied. Contact stresses in wheel-rail were analyzed. Under the tangential stress of the contact stresses, a cyclic stress-strain relation was obtained by using the model. A constant ratcheting strain per cycle was accumulated.

  • An explosion modeling technique was developed by using the spherical discrete element code, PFC3D, which can be used to model the dynamic stress wave propagation phenomenon. The modeling technique is simply based on an idea that the explosion pressure should be applied to a PFC3D particle assembly not in the form of an external force (body force), but in the form of a contact force (surface force). According to this concept, the explosion pressure is applied to the wall particles by the scheme of radius expansion/contraction of inner-hole particles. The output wall force is compared to the input hole pressure in every time step, and a correction routine is activated to control the radius multiplier of the inner-hole particles. A comparative blast simulation far a cement mortar block of $80\times90\times80mm$ was conducted by using the conventional explosion modeling method and the new one. The results of the simulation are presented in a qualitative fashion.

  • This study presented an modeling method for the connections in mixed structure with reinforced concrete columns and steel beam using finite element method. The contacting surfaces between concrete and steel are modeled using master-slave contact algorithm and the incompatible mode elements were used in the steel tube subjected to bending. The characteristics of mixed structure was that diaphragm was used for transferring force from beam to column. The three dimensional nonlinear analysis was performed and the analytical results compared with experimental results in order to prove modeling method.

  • The accuracy of wheel-rail contact analysis is mainly determined by the methods to find wheel-rail contact points and to calculate contact forces. The 2-dimensional approach which calculates contact points based on the profile curves of the wheel and rail has advantage of reducing calculation time but shortage of approximating the solutions when comparing with 3-dimensional analysis In this analysis, wheelset dynamic behaviors calculated by the approach based on the 2-dimensional wheel-rail curves are compared with those by the 3-dimensional wheel-rail surfaces. Yaw angle and lateral displacement of wheelset center are compared when negotiating a curve.

  • A domain/boundary decomposition technique is applied to carry out efficient finite element analyses of 3-D contact problems. Appropriate penalty functions are selected for connecting an interface and contact interfaces with neighboring subdomains that satisfy continuity constraints. As a consequence, all the effective stiffness matrices have positive definiteness, and computational efficiency can be improved to a considerable degree. If necessary, any complex-shaped 3-D domain can be divided into several simple-shaped subdomains without considering the conformity of meshes along the interface. With a set of numerical examples, the basic characteristics of computational efficiency are investigated carefully.
