Spatiotemporal Movement Density and Stopping Characteristics of Urban Walking Tourists by Season - Focused on Tourists of Bukchon Hanok Village in the Spring and Summer - (도심 도보관광자의 계절별 시·공간 이동밀도 및 멈춤 특성 - 북촌한옥마을의 봄·여름 관광자들을 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine urban walking tourists' spatiotemporal movement densities and the stopping characteristics by season. With the Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul, as the study site, a GPS-based smartphone application collected spatiotemporal data, and GIS and statistical methods were used to analyze the urban walking tourists' spatiotemporal activities in the spring and summer. The results show that the moving and staying variables of urban walking tourists differ significantly by season. In addition, spatiotemporal movement densities and stopping characteristics using ArcGIS's tools show clear spatial and temporal concentrations along the main access roads and commercial areas of the study site in the spring and summer. Policy-makers and developers of urban walking tours should use these spatiotemporal concentrations of walking tourists to define policies that would control the capacities of urban walking areas and distribute tourists spatially and temporally.

Dual Cache System Based on the Locality Decision Mechanism (지역성 결정 메커니즘을 기반으로 한 이중 캐쉬 시스템)

  • 캐쉬의 성능을 향상시키는 가장 효과적인 방법은 프로그램 수행 특성에 내재되어 있는 시간적 (temporal locality) -공간적 지역성 (spatial locality)을 활용하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 추가적인 장치나 컴파일러의 도움 없이 단지 캐쉬의 구조적인 특징과 간단한 메커니즘만을 이용하여 두 가지 타입의 지역성을 효과적으로 반영할 수 있는 새로운 캐쉬 시스템이 제안된다. 제안하는 새로운 캐쉬 시스템은 다른 블록 크기와 다른 연관도를 가지는 두 개의 캐쉬로써 구성되어 진다. 즉 작은 블록 크기를 지원하는 직접사상 캐쉬 (direct-mapped cache)와 큰 블록을 지원하는 완전 연관 버퍼 (fully-associative buffer)로 구성되어 진다. 큰 블록은 여러 개의 작은 블록으로 구성되어지며 두 캐쉬에서 접근 실패가 발생할 경우 직접사상 캐쉬의 접근 실패가 발생한 작은 블록과 그 이웃 작은 블록을 완전 연관 버퍼에 저장시킴으로써 한번 참조가 일어난 블록의 이웃 블록이 참조될 확률이 높다는 공간적 지역성의 특성을 효과적으로 반영할 수 있다. 또한 참조가 일어난 블록은 제어 비트를 사용하여 선택적으로 작은 블록을 직접사상 캐쉬에 저장함으로써 시간적 지역성을 보다 효과적으로 사용할 수 있다 시뮬레이션 결과에 따르면 기존의 직접사상 캐쉬의 4배 크기보다도 좋은 성능 향상을 보이고 있으며, 동일한 크기의 victim 캐쉬보다 우수한 성능을 보이고 소비 전력 면에서는 5% 정도의 전력 감소를 보이고 있다.

A Study on the Implications of Christian Education on Digital Storytelling in the Metaverse (메타버스를 통한 디지털 스토리텔링에 대한 기독교교육적 연구)

  • Digital transformation, which is accelerating in each area of society due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is also having a profound effect on Christian education. A representative example of digital transformation is the emergence of a digital world called the metaverse. This study understands the metaverse as an expanded space for Christian education and explores digital storytelling as a method for faith formation. It is argued that the characteristics of digital storytelling through metaverse spaces are characterized by interactivity, agency, audiovisuality, sociality, and openness, and that modification through Christian educational frames is necessary in order for this approach to be appropriated to Christian educational practice. To this end, this study examines Anne Wimberly's story-linking approach, and Mary Hess' approach on digital storytelling, which is understood as a way of faith formation for the liberation and Christian vocation through storytelling in a digital space, focusing on authority, authenticity, and agency. It is argued that Christian education on the Metaverse should be a place for change in the Christian life and formation of vocation, and a space where participants' active responses to God's grace be practiced in a digital space in a reciprocal way. This means that learners are encouraged to participate in expressive and relational education that is practiced in the form of play and creation, responding to God's initiative in the metaverse. This study argues that for digital storytelling through the metaverse to become a process of faith formation, it is necessary to connect stories of participants with the story of God's Kingdom in the expanded digital world, aim for a reciprocal space through hospitality and listening, and promote immersive participation and holistic reflection.

A Study on Room Assignment Considering Accessibility in a University Dormitory: A Case Study for University A (공용 공간의 접근성을 고려한 대학 기숙사 공실 배정에 관한 연구: A대학교를 중심으로)

  • This study examines room assignments to improve accessibility in a university dormitory depending on the student grade, taking into account frequency of using a certain common space. An integer programming model is presented to minimize the total moving distance from the common space to the students' rooms for accessibility. The model also constrains the maximum capacity of a room, and disallows different grade students to be assigned to the same room. This model is similar to a facility location problem used widely in the supply chain management field. Applying our optimization model to a small group at the dormitory of Unversity A as the case study, our results indicate that lower grade students are assigned rooms closer to the common space due to their higher frequency of using that space to guarantee high accessibility. Moreover, if higher grade students are prioritized to select their rooms, we suggest an objective function that imposes a penalty in cases when lower grade students select rooms with priority. Based on the results obtained, we propose assigning rooms to students in a dormitory by considering their complex requirements and convenience to use the common space.

  • SVM은 일반화된 높은 분류 정확률을 보인다. 그러나, SVM은 데이터의 양이 커질수록 높은 시간 공간적 복잡성 때문에 근사화 알고리즘(Approximation Algorithm)을 이용한다. 이러한 접근 방법은 실제구현에서 높은 시간 공간적 복잡성을 요구하여 분류 정확률과 효율성을 낮아지게 한다. 따라서, 본 논문은 SVM을 앙상블 구조로 구성하여 분류 정확률을 높이고, 분류자의 최적 하이퍼플랜(Optimal Hyperplane)결정을 위해 마진 벡터만을 이용하여 시간 공간적 문제를 해결하였다. 실험결과, 본 논문에서 제시한 방법이 단일 SVM을 이용한 방법보다 높은 분류 정확률과 높은 효율성을 가짐을 보여준다...

  • The design and implementation of agents is an essential part of the development of immersive types of tutoring systems using virtual reality. This paper proposes several effective mechanisms for the design and implementation of agents. Unlike existing researches we focus on accommodating diversity of agents' behavior in the proposed mechanisms. First, we define the space object based on the field theory. The introduction of the field theory allows us to approach the space objects in a structural manner rather than by their classification. We can also achieve dynamic genesis and extinction of the space objects, and derivation of overall changes in spatio-temporal situations. Second, we classify the behavior of agents into composite behaviors and primitive actions in order to achieve its dynamic planning. Finally, we distribute the knowledge among agents and their associated objects according to their interrelations. By this distribution, we can handle the otherwise prohibitively large amount of knowledge related to agents' behaviors and construct a dynamic environment. By implementing a situation with agent's navigation across a composite space object, we demonstrate the effectiveness of these schemes presented above.

  • In the OR-parallel execution of logic programs, binding environments have a critical impact on the performance. Particularly, this is true for distributed execution on parallel systems with a non-single address space. The reason is that in such systems, the remote accesses across processing elements deteriorate the performance. To solve this problem, some binding methods were previously proposed specifically for a non-single address space. However, compared with the binding methods for a single address space, they are far less efficient due to the overhead of newly introduced operations such as environment closing and back-unification, In this paper, we propose a new binding environment is a hybrid that combines both the binding methods for a single address space and those for anon-single address space. It acomplishes high efficiency by making closing operations unnecessary both at unification and at back-unification, while mainthing the restricted accesses.

A Method of Measuring Accessibility for Community Infrastructure Planning (생활인프라 공급계획을 위한 접근성 평가 방법)

  • Recently, interest and financial investment in community infrastructure have been growing. Accordingly, Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport suggested a standard for community infrastructure planning. The standard was based on time distance which represents citizens' accessibility to infrastructure facilities. This paper presents a method to use the navigation application programming interface (API) to calculate travel time. Buffer analysis using Euclidean distance has been widely used so far to evaluate accessibility. However, this method has limitation in that it does not reflect situations in the real world such as crosswalks and slope ways. The infrastructure accessibility indices of local towns in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon were computed based on the time obtained by navigation API. Also, Yeonsu-gu was spatially analyzed to reveal the resident units that are marginalized from community infrastructure facilities. Using navigation API enables to compute realistic accessibility indices and to find unbenefitted residential areas. The method presented in this paper can help community infrastructure planners for their facility spatial plan and budget distribution.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경은 오늘날 인간생활 행태의 변화뿐만 아니라 미래건축 공간에도 큰 변화를 가져오고 있다. 그 중에서도 인간의 가장 기본적인 생활환경인 주거 공간의 변화는 빠르게 이루어지고 있다. 지능형 홈, 사이버 아파트 등의 새로운 미래주거 공간이 나타나고 홈네트워크 시스템을 이용한 다양한 유비쿼터스 서비스가 적용되고 있다. 그러나 거주자를 위한 유비쿼터스 서비스가 공간에 적절히 적용되지 않는 사례가 발생하고 있고 수요자 요구와 관련 없이 서비스가 설계되어 있어 효율성이 떨어지는 문제점도 나타나고 있다. 이는 현재의 홈네트워크가 IT 업계가 제공한 솔루션과 기기 중심으로 서비스가 개발되고, 공급자 위주의 기능의 편리성을 위주로 제공되고 있기 때문이며, 주택을 잘 알고 있는 건설인과의 협업이나 최종 사용자의 기호가 고려되고 있지 않기 때문이다. 더욱 중요한 것은 초기 디자인 단계에서 이러한 문제점들이 수용되고 있지 못하고 공간 디자인과 서비스 개발이 유리화되어 선 시공 후, 서비스를 끼워 맞추기식으로 계획하고 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 서비스 개발의 관점에서 접근하여 공동 주택의 초기 디자인 단계에서 수요자가 원하는 서비스를 공간에 적용하여 부합되는지를 살펴보고, 이에 따라 적절한 미래공간을 디자인 할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 공간정보 데이터베이스를 기반으로 한 공동주택 유비쿼터스 서비스 개발을 위한 기초 연구에 그 목적을 둔다.

The Effects of spatial features on visitor attitudes at exhibition hall (전시홀 공간특성이 참관객 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • This research aims to identify spatial features of exhibition hall for trade fair and establish a theoretical model on the effects of these features on the visitor attitudes. Also, it seeks to make suggestions on the service for exhibition environment or marketing activities through empirical analysis. The survey for this research was conducted for one week from Oct. 28 to Nov. 5, 2016 at COEX in Seoul. The 320 questionnaires were distributed to the visitors of the survey period, and all of the questionnaires were returned. Excluding those considered meaningless due to a small number of answered questions, a total of 303 samples were used for empirical analysis. The empirical analysis was conducted through SPSS 24.0. The results showed that each element of spatial features of the exhibition hall has significant effects on the visitor intuitive attitude. On the other hand, only Aesthetic and Convenience of spatial features of the exhibition hall has significant effects on the visitor conative attitude As above, this research conducted empirical researches on the effects of spatial features on visitor attitudes at exhibition hall to provide guidelines for establishing strategic management schemes of exhibition space that provide more convenient and pleasant environment. Also, this research aims to suggest development directions for organizer to provide quality service and environment, turning them into comfortable spaces that communicate with the visitors.
