The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the relationships between brand satisfaction and store loyalty by examining the role of brand trust, store satisfaction and store trust in determining store loyalty in retail service firms. The results of the study are as follows: First, in case of relation exchange consumers, which are characterized by cooperative actions and mutual adjustment of both buyer and seller, brand satisfaction has a positive influence on brand trust, brand trust has a positive influence on store trust, and then store trust a strong positive influence on store loyalty. That is, store loyalty can be build up by combined benefits both brand trust and store trust in relation exchange consumers. Second, in another case of transaction exchange consumer, which are discrete buyer-seller exchange of commodity or performance with minimal personal relationships and no anticipation or obligation of future exchange, brand satisfaction has a positive influence on store satisfaction, and then store satisfaction has a direct influence on store loyalty. So, retailers have to developing strong brands which could help ensure both satisfaction and loyalty.
This paper suggests that the relationship between store images and store loyalty is moderated by store-type (online vs. offline). Data was collected from 341 online panel survey on four online stores and four offline stores. Regression analysis with interaction terms demonstrates that assortment and service among image attributes interact with store-type. Specifically, assortment is more important for offline store loyalty where as service is more important for online store loyalty. The authors discuss the implications of these findings and offer directions for future research.
The importance of the environment in the store is embossed, this is demanded to manage the store environment from the dimension of image improve and customer contacted satisfaction measurement followed with the influence on the store choice criteria. Retail store's managers improve the retailing results by forming the appropriate store environment and giving the customers a pleasant and satisfied purchasing environment to improve the store atmosphere. This study tries to explain customer experience in retail stores from a holistic perspective including hedonic, economic, symbolic, and relational dimensions. We also attempt to empirically investigate the effect of each dimension of customer experience on the store attitude and store attachment and the differential influence of the store attitude and attachment on the commitment toward store. The major findings from empirical analysis are as follows. First, all four dimensions of customer experience positively impact on the store attitude. Second, symbolic and relational dimensions of customer experience have a positive effect on the store attachment while hedonic and economic dimensions don't. Third, the store attachment more positively influence the commitment toward store than the store attitude do. This paper extends the scope of the study on consumer experience in retail setting by broadening the dimensions of it and testing the differential effect of each dimensions empirically. The results of this research can provide useful implications for practitioners to build successful strategies on customer experience management in retail stores.
This study introduces the mother logit model to predict consumer's store choices. The model is not based on the IIA assumptions and thus accounts for substitution among similar alternatives. The choice data as an input to the model is obtained through the conjoint-type choice experiment. The model is applied to consumer's choice of fastfood stores in the context where new store enters the market. The analysis shows that the substitution effects are significant and therefore the mother logit model predicts better than the IIA model. The mother logit model will be useful as well for the market structure analysis in capturing cannibalization among several brands.

Suncheon is a city comprising a rural and urban area, where there are four types of large stores. Studies have shown that there are too many large stores serving the local population of just 300,000. However, geographically, Suncheon is located at a transportation hub that borders the cities of Gwangyang and Yeosu as well as the local counties of Boseong and Gurae. Residents of these areas can reach these shopping stores within an hour's drive. Thus, the managers of these four stores regard residents in these areas as their valued customers and endeavor to create a differentiated image among them. In this study, 13 different images were used to determine the public's opinions and feelings towards these stores and the differences were analyzed. The store images measured overall store impression, diversity of the product, the quality of products displayed at the store, accessibility, the atmosphere, service to the customers, and so on. These images are evaluated subjectively by each customer and are major factors in them deciding to revisit the stores. The 13 images are classified into five main categories and further classified into 13 sub-categories. Three kinds of factor images were extracted from the store images in the five main categories by factor analysis using SPSS Ver. 19. The first factor image was extracted from the images of convenience, atmosphere, and service in the main categories and is called a sub-service factor for the store in this study. Accessibility to the store was classified as a convenience image in the main category and was extracted as a common factor along with diversity and the price of goods. These differences are expected according to the store location, that is, the difference between stores located in a large city and those in a small local city, and depending on the nature of survey respondents. The result shows that there is a significant difference between the stores' images with regard to accessibility, the price of products, brand image, and lighting/sound image. This study has the following limitations. First, the survey sample was restricted to residents of a small local city that includes rural and urban populations. The differences between the store images regarding traffic and accessibility are factored by store location, whether they are located within a large or a small city as well as the economic situation of these cities. Second, only the customers of large-scale stores were included in the survey as respondents. Relatively large traditional markets are held every five days in local cities and there is competition between large-scale stores and traditional markets with regard to diversity and the price of goods. It could be expected that customers in large-scale stores and customers in traditional markets would hold different store images. In future studies, images of stores in large cities should be compared with the images of stores located in small local cities. In addition, customer behavior when buying goods in large-scale stores should be compared with their behavior when buying goods in traditional markets.
Consumers evaluate stores by comparing stores that we, in their minds, similar and are competitive with one another; and in this way, the term "consideration set of stores" is defined as those store alternatives the consumer is aware of and evaluates positively. The purpose of this study is to aid in understanding the consideration set of stores in store choice processes in apparel product purchases. More specifically, this study aims to clarify the relation between consideration set of stores and importance of store image. As a result, the respondents of quantitative study were classified into seven groups by the number of stores and store types they considered: 1) "small-road shop sets group" ; 2) "small-market sets group" ; 3) "small- department store sets group" ; 4) "small-department store/outlet sets group" ; 5) "large-department store/market sets group" ; 6) "large-department store/road shop sets group" ; and 7) "large-department store sets group". Further, significant differences among the groups in the importance of store image were observed. For example, low prices were an important factor in both the small-market considering group and large-department store/market considering group when choosing a retail store, there were also differences in the considering groups in that for the small-department store considering group, store mileage-discount cards were important whereas ample space for relaxation around the stores were important retail store selection factors for the large-department store/road shop considering group. This study may provide a useful direction to retailers in finding out who the target customers and competitive stores are and allow retailers to make proper marketing strategies.
