The coffee shop market in Korea has been rapidly increased in quantitative terms over 10 years since the time when Starbucks opened their first shop in 1999. In recent years, the mature market characteristics that the serious competition of the coffee shop brands make the difference in taste or service reduce has been shown in that market. It's important to build the differentiated brand image for the differentiation of products and services and obtaining a price premium in serious competitive mature market. This study presented practical implications based on the results of empirical analysis of current positioning using 'Store Personality Scale.
This research examines the impact of brand personality dimensions on store attitude and store loyalty for department stores. A total of 431 customers participated in the online survey. The participants were women in their 20's to 50's with experience of purchasing apparel from four major department stores. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, reliability test, and structural equation modeling with PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Analyses revealed three dimensions of the brand personality of department stores: prestige, passion, and sincerity. Among the three dimensions of brand personality, 'passion' and 'sincerity' were shown to be the most influential factors affecting department store attitude. The results suggest that passionate and sincere customers tend to exhibit favorable store attitudes. Customers with more favorable store attitudes then are more likely to express great store loyalty than those with less favorable attitudes. An analysis of the effect of brand personality on attitudes toward department stores provides implications for department store brand management strategies.

Nowadays, it is common that most consumers are purchasing goods in e-stores. The e-stores eager to attract, revisit, retain, and finally convert them into loyal customers. The e-store marketers have planned and executed numerous marketing efforts. As one of the marketing activities, e-store managers attempt to build web sites that meet customers' functional and psychological needs. A wide array of studies has been done to identify factors that could affect customers' response of web sites. Majority of studies were conducted to verify technology-related and functional variables of the website which facilitate transactions and enhance customer responses such as purchase intention and website loyalty. However, there has been little research on the external cues of website and psychological variables of consumer that could have positive influences on customer response. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of e-store personality on e-store loyalty through mediating variables such as e-store identification, e-store trust, and e-store engagement. The authors of this study develop the model and set up the six main hypotheses and a set of sub-hypotheses based on a literature review, shown in

The participants were women in their 20s to 50s with experiences of purchasing apparel from major department stores. A total of 324 survey responses were used for the final analysis. The data were analyzed using factors analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis with PASW 18.0. The results were as follows. First, the department store personality was composed of 3 factors; prestige, passion, sincerity. Service quality factors were defined as tangibility, responsiveness, and empathy. Second, the three dimensions of brand personality-prestige, passion and sincerity turned out to be influential factors affecting the customers' revisiting intention and recommendation intention. Also, tangibility and responsiveness of service quality factors had a significant influence on their revisiting intention, whereas tangibility, responsiveness and empathy factors had a significant influence on their recommendation intention. Third, the sub-dimensions of store personality and service quality had a different influence on the customers' revisiting intention and recommendation intention according to the department store brand.
I. Introduction The industry of domestic discount store was reorganized with 2 bigs and 1 middle, and then Home Plus took over Home Ever in 2008. In present, Oct, 2008, E-Mart has 118 outlets, Home Plus 112 outlets, and Lotte Mart 60 stores. With total number of 403 outlets, they are getting closer to a saturation point. We know that the industry of discount store has been getting through the mature stage in retail life cycle. There are many efforts to maintain existing customers rather than to get new customers. These competitions in this industry lead firms to acknowledge 'store loyalty' to be the first strategic tool for their sustainable competitiveness. In other words, the strategic goal of discount store is to boost up the repurchase rate of customers throughout increasing store loyalty. If owners of retail shops can figure out main factors for store loyalty, they can easily make more efficient and effective retail strategies which bring about more sales and profits. In this practical sense, there are many papers which are focusing on the antecedents of store loyalty. Many researchers have been inspecting causal relationships between antecedents and store loyalty; store characteristics, store image, atmosphere in store, sales promotion in store, service quality, customer characteristics, crowding, switching cost, trust, satisfaction, commitment, etc., In recent times, many academic researchers and practitioners have been interested in 'dual path model for service loyalty'. There are two paths in store loyalty. First path has an emphasis on symbolic and emotional dimension of service brand, and second path focuses on quality of product and service. We will call the former an extrinsic path and call the latter an intrinsic path. This means that consumers' cognitive path for store loyalty is not single but dual. Existing studies for dual path model are as follows; First, in extrinsic path, some papers in domestic settings show that there is 'store personality-identification-loyalty' path. Second, service quality has an effect on loyalty, which is a behavioral variable, in the mediation of customer satisfaction. But, it's very difficult to find out an empirical paper applied to domestic discount store based on this mediating model. The domestic research for store loyalty concentrates on not only intrinsic path but also extrinsic path. Relatively, an attention for intrinsic path is scarce. And then, we acknowledge that there should be a need for integrating extrinsic and intrinsic path. Also, in terms of retail industry, this study is meaningful because retailers want to achieve their competitiveness by using store loyalty. And so, the purpose of this paper is to integrate and complement two existing paths into one specific model, dual path model. This model includes both intrinsic and extrinsic path for store loyalty. With this research, we would expect to understand the full process of forming customers' store loyalty which had not been clearly explained. In other words, we propose the dual path model for discount store loyalty which has been originated from store personality and service quality. This model is composed of extrinsic path, discount store personality
Based on the self-congruity theory, this study investigated how congruity between multi-brand store image and consumers' self-image affect store attributes and consumer responses. A total of 331 questionnaires were used to analyze data. The results of research were: 1) 'Sophistication' as the congruity factor between store image and consumers' self-image affected 'utility', 'atmosphere', and 'design' among store attribute factors. Also, 'sincerity' influenced 'utility' as the store attribute factor. 2) 'Atmosphere' as the store attribute factor positively influenced consumers' emotional responses, and 'utility' and 'design' factors positively influenced consumers' cognitive responses. 3) Consumers' emotional responses had a positive impact on consumers' cognitive responses; in addition, consumers' emotional and cognitive responses had positive impacts on consumers' behavioral responses. 4) A-Land indicated higher scores on 'sophistication', 'atmosphere', and 'design' factors than ABC Mart. ABC Mart had shown higher scores on 'ruggedness' and 'utility' factors than A-Land. This study provides practical implications to develop effective marketing strategies to manage multi-brand stores.
Only specialized coffee stores which have a competitive power will survive in the future and what matters is that how well they satisfy customers. A variety of costumers regard their individuality as important and prefer the store which meets their value. Therefore, managers should have a marketing strategy which comes up to customers' expectations with a clarified concept. In this respect, this study focuses on the structure of a specialized Japanese coffee store system which is similar to that of Korea and its changing process. The purpose of this paper is to present an ideal strategy for a specialized Korean coffee store system after investigating Japanese various kinds of coffee, their developmental process, and the Japanese coffee market trend. According to this results, Korean studies on coffee are just focusing on the quality of services. Therefore, it is necessary to study the scale of stores, the classification between domestic coffee stores and those of foreign enterprises, and the comparative analysis of both individual coffee stores and franchised coffee stores.
Modern consumers tend to show value-oriented, image-centered, individualized, and emotionalized consumption behavior, not the consumers who are simply provided with products. Department store industry actively corresponds to the changing consumption behaviors of consumers and pays attention to Visual Merchandising(VMD) as a strategy to visually differentiate stores and sales environments. This study shows 6 parts of effective VMD; presentation of product, product display, color composition, planning of lighting, POP and sign display.
. First of all, hypothesis 1 is partially supported because sub-hypothesis 1-1 and 1-2 are supported, whereas sub-hypothesis 1-3, 1-4, and 1-5 are rejected. Specifically, it reveals that warmth and sophistication dimensions in e-store personality have positive influence on e-store identification, however, activity, progressiveness, and strictness does not have any significant relationship on e-store identification. Secondly, hypothesis 2 was supported. Therefore, it can be said that e-store identification has a positive impact on e-store trust. Thirdly, hypothesis 3 is also supported. Hence, there is a positive relationship between e-store identification and e-store engagement. Fourthly, hypothesis 4 is supported too. e-store identification has a positive influence on e-store loyalty. Fifthly, hypothesis 5 is also accepted. This indicates that e-store trust is a precedent variable which positively affects e-store loyalty. Lastly, it reveals that e-store engagement has a positive impact on e-store loyalty. Therefore, hypothesis 6 is supported. The findings of the study imply that some dimensions of e-store personality have a positive influence on e-store identification, and that e-store identification has direct and indirect influence on e-store loyalty through e-store trust and e-store engagement positively. These results also suggest that the e-store identification in e-store personality is a precedent variable which positively affects e-store loyalty directly and indirectly through e-store trust and engagement as a mediating variable. Therefore, e-store marketers need to implement website strategy based on e-store personality, e-store identification, e-store trust, and e-store engagement to meet customers' psychological needs and enhance e-store loyalty. Finally, the limitations and future study directions based on this study are discussed.
