A Study on the Vibration Analysis and Optimization for the Composite Optical Structure of an Aircraft (복합재료를 적용한 항공기용 카메라 구조 경량화 설계 및 최적조건 선정에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the vibration characteristics and the optimization using the orthogonal array about applied composite optical structure of an aircraft. To acquire the vibration characteristics for stable line of sight, modal analysis are performed by using multi-body program ADAMS. And to optimize optical structure, for design variables were selected, larger-the-better characteristics were considered using results of S/N ratio and orthogonal array $L_9(3^4)$. When bearing constraints are selected, radial, axial and moment stiffness value are used to analysis for optimization until now. But B.S.R which is non-dimensional parameter is proposed, structures including bearings can be used for optimization. And then having a result of lager-the-better, the optimized values of each design variable were successfully suggested.

  • This paper presents the implementation and control of a mobile manipulator robot for indoor service. The robot has two arms for tasks and a mobile base for mobility. The robot is designed to have several characteristics. Firstly, the robot has the capability of changing the height of the robot. Secondly, the robot can be changed into a balancing mode of two contact points from mobile mode of four contact points. The robot has a balancing mode like an inverted pendulum robot as well as mobile robot mode. Lastly, as a novel concept, the robot is designed to have the capability of separating into two systems, the robot ann and the mobile robot as well. The mobile base can be separately used for a cleaning service.

  • Signal attenuation of Ka-band satellite communication system due to rain fading is more severe than those of conventional frequency band system, thus an efficient rain fade countermeasure technique is absolutely required. In this paper, we design an improved adaptive modulation system, which switches the modulation mode according to the channel condition, and propose the novel synchronization algorithms. We assume that the modulation scheme is M-ary PSK and the receiver is TDMA burst mode. And the transponder model is the same with KOREASAT-3. By using the adaptive modulation scheme, we satisfy the BER and mean spectral efficiency requirements, simultaneously, which is impossible by using the fixed modulation scheme.

  • It is very important for the sensor network to save battery capacity. Switching active mode to sleep mode is used for S-MAC protocol and expiring timer before end of the active part is used for T-MAC in order to extend battery life span. We proposed IS-MAC (Improved Sensor MAC) which gives more energy efficiency than S-MAC and T-MAC To improve energy efficiency in sensor network, we used the threshold value in buffer to transmit data packet and proposed the method to reduce the number of control packets which cause extra battery consumption. Based on the analytical results, we found that the proposed IS-MAC protocol shows better performance than conventional MAC protocols.

  • In this study, a thermal system was designed using a 3-way valve and PTC attached to a solar module. This design could help solve the problem of rising fossil fuel costs caused by limited reserves and environmental problems resulting from fossil fuel use. The thermal system is a hot-air and heating control system composed of a temperature sensor part, mode setting part (for hot air and heating modes), supply part, and thermal system control part. The temperature sensor part has piping and an indoor temperature display, and the temperature setting part has multiple monitoring functions. The mode setting part switches between hot air and heating modes and can be used to set the temperature. The thermal system control part performs functions such as PTC control and temperature setting, PTC day and night and time selection, hot air and heating control, and three-way valve selection. The results verify that the system operates with stable response speeds of $680{\mu}s$ in the temperature sensor part, $700{\mu}s$ in the mode setting part, and $610{\mu}s$ in the thermal system control part.

  • K-BEMS System was introduced to reduce peak load and to save total energy of the 200 buildings that KEPCO headquarter and branch offices use. And K-BEMS system is composed of PV, battery, and hybrid PCS. KEPCO research institute has carried out this K-BEMS research project for 3 years since January 2016. In this paper, the results of the project are shown. 9 modes of test results of K-BEMS system and are operational problems were analyzed. And measures to cure the trouble are also suggested. Batteries are operated more than 20% of SOC, and less than 20% of SOC battery protection switches are automatically shutting down the system and the system no longer respond to EMS, ending the supply of PV, and so therefore to continue the PV power supply it was turn out to be necessary that the EMS should automatically change its policy to change PV only supply mode automatically when the Battery Switch automatically operated. To operate the system continuously and automatically, it is necessary to modify the minimum operational SOC value, and in addition to that the EMS computer must remember the last shut-down SOC and Voltage which interrupted the system and add some margin to reflect the measurement error in the system.

  • This paper describes the development of a wearable robot to assist the elbow muscle for use by elderly workers in aging societies. Various previously developed wearable robots have drawbacks in terms of their price, portability, and slow recognition of the wearer's intention. In this paper, emphasis is placed on the following features to minimize these drawbacks. The first feature is that an actuator is attached only at the elbow joint that withstands the highest moment during arm motion to reduce the weight, volume, and price of the robot and increase its practicality. The second is that operation of the wearable robot is divided into two modes, a tracking mode and a muscle strengthening mode, and the robot can automatically switch between these modes by analyzing the wearer's intention through the brachial muscle strength measuring device developed in this study. The assistive performance of the developed wearable robot is experimentally verified by motion tracking experiments without an external load and muscle strengthening experiments with an external load. During the muscle strengthening experiments, the power of the muscle of the upper arm is measured by a commercial electromyography (EMG) sensor. Motion tracking performance at a speed of $120^{\circ}/s$ and muscle assistance of over 60 % were obtained using our robot.

  • The design method that the structure of double actuators of read-only or read-writable DVD optical pick-up of high density can be compact into the structure of one actuator, is proposed. The designed actuator has the structure of the shaft sliding type in which the moving part can be rotated about the shaft accord to a used optical disc and an objective lens can be switched, and is suspended with magnetic spring. In this actuator, Coulomb's friction is used as damping force and the moving part is designed by finite element method so that the second natural vibration mode can not occur within the servo band. The mock-up of the actuator designed in this paper is made, and its dynamic characteristics is measured and estimated.

  • $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose 3-Epimerase (DPE)는 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose의 C3 Epimerase로써 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose를 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose로 전환해 주는 효소이다. $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose는 설탕 대신 사용하는 감미료로 몸에 흡수되지 않아 칼로리가 없다고 알려져 있고 자연에서는 오로지 DPE에 의해서만 생산되는 희귀당이다. 이에 따라 DPE를 통한 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose 대량생산의 필요성이 대두되고 있는 등 이 분야에 대한 관심이 뜨거운 실정이다. 본 연구팀은 이 당과 관련된 작용기작 연구를 수행하기 위하여 아직 단백질 3차구조가 알려지지 않은 Clostridium hylemonae DPE (chDPE) 단백질의 3차 구조예측 연구를 수행 하였다. 우리는 HHsearch를 이용하여 agrobacterium tumefaciens의 DPE 외 2개의 구조를 호몰로지 모델링 연구를 위한 주형으로 선정하였다. 다음으로 PROMALS3D를 이용하여 주형들과 chDPE의 multiple sequence alignment를 수행하였고 이를 바탕으로 3차구조 예측 연구를 수행 하였다. 예측된 구조를 검증하기 위하여 ProSA와 Ramachandran plot분석을 이용하였고 Ramachandran plot에서 단백질의 94.8%에 해당하는 잔기들이 favoured regions에 위치하였다. ProSA에서는 Z-score값이 -9.3으로 X-선 결정학이나 핵자기 공명법으로 밝혀진 구조들에서 관측되는 범위 내에 위치하였다. 나아가 예측된 구조에 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose와 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose의 결합모드를 규명하기 위하여 도킹을 시도하였다. 이번 연구를 통하여 chDPE의 구조를 예측 할 수 있었고 이를 바탕으로 이 단백질의 기능을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

  • In this paper, we propose mode selector for operating a switching system and regulator of linear system to detect the load current. The proposed mode selector can be a mode switching of linear system and switching system, and it has been proposed to compensate for the disadvantages of regulator of switching system with low efficiency in light load conditions. At light load conditions, the mode selector is possible to provide a high efficiency in light load condition by switching the mode to the regulator of linear system. The mode selector was designed to using a Dongbu Hitek $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process.
