In order to increase the lower values of % grafting and monomer conversion in the emulsion graft polymerization of methylmethacrylate(MMA) onto sodium alginate (SA; a polymer electrolyte) with alginic acid-g-PMMA, the graft polymerization with water soluble (methanol and acetone) and insoluble solvents was carried out using a varity of solvent amounts and agitating rates. And some physical properties of the graft polymer were also investigated. In the polymerizations with water insoluble solvent, there were pronounced improvements in both % grafting and MMA conversion by the promotion of MMA diffusion from the core to the SA adsorpted on the outer layer of particle and that of MMA complex formation with SA. And the effect was larger for the solvents (cyclohexane, decalin) which do not dissolve PMMA. On the other hand, in the polymerization with water soluble solvent, there was an significant increase in MMA conversion and a considerable increase in the % grafting by the destruction of electrical double layer around the SA chains, abstracting the hydrated water in the layer and the effect was more potential in the case of methanol which is a precipitant of PMMA.

디지털 비디오에 있어서 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 및 검색 시스템 구축을 하기 위해서는 비디오를 여러개의 장면으로 분할하는 기술이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 종류의 장면 전환을 검출하기 위해 기존의 규칙기반이 아닌 신경망 이론을 접목하여 자율학습과 실수값 입력이 가능한 ART2를 이용하였다. 매프레임마다 발생할 수 있는 변동의 폭을 줄이기 위해 MPEG 동영상의 DC에 해당하는 값만을 이용하고, 프레임마다 색상의 분산값을 이용하여 Plateaus 구간을 검출한 다음 Plateaus 구간에 해당하는 프레임들에 대해서만 프레임차이, 히스토그램차이, 상관계수 등의 특징치를 추출하여 ART2에 특징벡터를 입력하여 장면 전환을 검출하였다.

동영상을 효율적으로 검색하기 위해서 동영상을 장면 단위로 분할하는 과정이 필요하다 이 논문에서는 동영상에서 장면이 전환되는 지점을 빠르게 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 MPEG 압축 영상에 대하여 시간적 표본화를 통하여 추출된 압축 영역의 데이터를 사용하여 장면 전환의 후보 구간들을 정하고, 다음으로 이들 구간 안에서 각 프레임의 화소값을 얻고, 이를 사용하여 정확한 장면 전환 지점을 찾아낸다. 제안된 방법은 빠른 검출 속도와 함께 높은 정확성을 갖는다. 또한 카메라 플래시 때문에 장면 전환으로 잘못 검출되는 것을 방지할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

본 논문에서는 다양한 컬러모델 영상을 대상으로 히스토그램의 차이를 이용한 장면 전환 검출 결과를 비교한다. 임계값은 히스토그램의 변화에 따라 변화하는 적응적 임계값 설정 방법을 사용하여 오검출과 미검출의 확률을 줄였다. 점진적인 장면 전환에도 강인한 검출을 위하여 탐색 구간의 변화와 히스토그램의 변화가 급격하게 자주 일어나는 구간의 히스토그램의 변화율을 이용하여 장면 전환을 검출 하는 방법을 제안 하였다.

비디오데이터의 증가에 따른 효율적 검색, 저장, 브라우징을 위한 방법론이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시스템을 구축하기 위한 첫 번째 단계인 비디오 분할기법을 제안하고자 한다. 이러한 비디오 분할은 샷경계검출 혹은 장면전환검출이라고 하는데 본 논문에서는 밝기 히스토그램과 에지갯수를 이용하여 프레임간의 유사도를 구별하고 이 유사도가 일정 임계값을 넘지 못하면 장면전환이 있는 것으로 간주한다. 점진적 장면전환검출은 현재프레임과 이전의 샷경계 프레임과의 유사도를 비교하여 검출한다. 다양한 비디오데이터에 공통적으로 적용할 수 있는 임계값을 설정하기 위해 상관관계(correlation)기법을 사용한다. 실험결과 급진적 장면전한은 각각 90%, 98%의 정확도(precision)와 회수율(recall)을 나타내었고 점진적 장면전환은 59%, 75%의 정확도와 회수율을 나타내었다.

In this paper, we would like to extract criminals doing this criminal offense to smoke in elevators. Extraction method detect difference value using modified color-$X^2$-test and it was normalized. Next, we find frames that has occurred scene change in successive frames using the four-step algorithm of scene change detection. Finally, we present the method of smoking image retrieval and extraction in stored large amount of video.

A shot change detection technique is an important technique for effective management of video data, thus it requires an adaptive algorithm for various video sequences to detect an accurate shot change frames. In this paper, we propose an adaptive shot change detection algorithm using histogram mean of frames within extension sliding window. Our algorithm calculates a frame feature value using histogram and defines an adaptive threshold using an average of histogram mean of frames within the extension sliding window and determines a shot change by comparing the feature value and the threshold. We obtained better detection rate than the conventional methods maximally by 15% in the experiment with the same test sequence. We verified real-time operation of shot change detection in the hardware platform with low performance by implementing it on TVUS HM-900 PLUS model of Homecast. The Proposed algorithm can be useful in the hardware platform such as portable multimedia player(PMP) or cellular phone with low CPU performance.

This paper discusses an effective algorithm which is proposed for abrupt scene change detection in MPEG bitstream. The proposed algorithm restores DC images by decoding only DC coefficients and estimates the new motion vectors between adjacent DC images and detects scene change by similarity measure between frames. The proposed algorithm calculates similarity measure between adjacent frames, i.e motion compensated inter-frame correlation, and detects scene change by comparing this similarity measure with threshold value independent of sequences. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has more than 90% \`recall\` and \`precision\` in almost sequences and these results can be considered better than other algorithms using threshold value dependent of sequences.

To investigate the function of the chloroplast small heat shock protein (small HSP), transgenic tobacco plants (Nicotiana tabacum L., cv. SRI) that show constitutive expression of the chloroplast small HSP were generated. Effects of constitutive expression of the introduced gene on thermotolerance were first probed with the chlorophyll fluorescence. After a 5-min incubation of leaf discs at high temperatures, an increase in the Fo level and a decrease in the Fv level, indications of separation of LHCII from PSII and inactivation of electron transport reactions in PSII, were mitigated by constitutive expression of the small HSP. When tobacco plantlets grown in Petri dishes were incubated at $52^{\circ}C$ for 45 min and subsequently incubated at $25^{\circ}C$, leaf color of nontransformants was gradually became white and all plantlets finally were died. Under conditions in which all nontransformants were dying, more than 80% of the transformants remained green and survived. These results suggest that the chloroplast small HSP plays an important role in protecting photosynthetic machinery during heat stress.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 데이터의 MPEG-1 비디오 데이터 정보 중 인트라 모드로 부호화된 매크로블록(macroblock) 타입 개수를 이용하여 후보 컷(cut)을 검출한다. 이렇게 검출된 후보 컷은 이전에 검출된 후보 컷과의 히스토그램 차와 화소 특징값의 분산값과 평균간을 이용하여 카메라 브레이크(camera break)와 같은 일반적인 장면전환(abrupt scene change)뿐만 아니라 커튼효과(curtaining effect)나 페이딩효과(fading effect)와 같은 점진적인 장면전환(gradual scene change)을 검출하는 방법을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 그 유용성을 보인다.
