This paper proposes a power feedforward technique for the performance improvement of DC-link voltage control in the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). The DC-link Voltage is able to be unstable for an instant owing to any change in the load and voltage sag. The distortion of the DC-link voltage leads to the negative influence on the performance of DVR. To mitigate the distortion of the DC-link voltage, the power feedforward component is calculated by the load power and the grid voltage, and then it is added to the reference current of the conventional DC-link voltage controller. By including output power feedforward component on the DC-link controller, the DC-link voltage can settle down more quickly than when the conventional DC-link voltage controller applied. The proposed technique was validated through the simulation and experimental results.

The knowledge of material stress-strain behavior is an essential requirement for design and analysis of deformation processes. Empirical stress-strain relationship and constitutive equations describing material behavior during deformation are being widely used, despite suffering some drawbacks in terms of ease of development, accuracy and speed. In the present study, back-propagation neural networks are used to model and predict the flow stresses of a HSLA steel under conditions of constant strain, strain rate and temperature. The performance of the network model is comparedto those of statistical models on rate equations. Well-trained network model provides fast and accurate results, making it superior to statistical models.
This paper presents a speed controller method based on the disturbance torque observer of high performance brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives. In case of the speed control of robot arms and tracking applications with lower stiffness, we cannot design the speed controller gain to be very large from tile viewpoint of the system stability. Thus, the feedforward compensator using disturbance torque observer was proposed. This method can improve the speed characteristic without increasing the speed controller gain. The enhanced speed control performance can be achieved and the speed response against the disturbance torque can be Improved for high-performance BLDC motor drive systems in which the bandwidth of tile speed controller cannot be made large enough. Consequently, speed control for high-performance BLDC motor drives become improved. The simulation results for BLDC motor drive systems confirm the validity of the proposed method.
This paper presents performance comparison study of current control methods for grid connected inverter (GCI) system. Different current control methods have been developed for GCI systems and each controller has its own advantages and limitations. Steady state and transient dynamic performance of the GCI current controllers are compared in this paper. The performance of the proposed command feedforward control (CFFC) and disturbance rejection control (DRC) is analyzed before and after application to all GCI current controllers. The proposed CFFC and DRC control algorithms is analyzed in a frequency domain and the simulation and experiment models of each GCI current control methods are developed for verification of the performance.

An MRAC-based adaptive current control scheme of an AC servo motor is presented for the performance improvement of a servo drive. Although the predictive current control is known to give ideal transient and steady-state responses, its steady-state response my be degraded under motor parameter variations. To overcome such a limitation, the disturbances caused by the parameter variations will be estimated by using an MRAC technique and compensated by a feedforward control. The proposed scheme does not require the measurement of the phase voltage unlike the conventional disturbance estimation scheme using observer. The asymptotic stability is proved. The proposed scheme is implemented using DSP TMS320C31 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations and experiments.
This paper proposes the feedforward compensation method of output voltage with 3phase AC/DC PWM converter on DC distribution system for improved response. AC/DC PWM converter on DC distribution is required power supply of high quality because of renewable energy sources and load links. In general, Feedforward compensation method of 3phase AC/DC PWM converter receives the sensor input to the output current, load power. Resulting, error of the sensing values and communication cause time delay. Therefore, Feedforward compensation method through only the output voltage is proposed in this paper. The feedforward compensation method through only the output voltage can be applied to the two-level AC/DC PWM converters, as well as multi-level converter or inverter.

Generally, a proportional-resonant controller is used to eliminate steady-state errors during the voltage-current control of a double-conversion uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in a stationary reference frame. Additionally, the feed-forward control compensating for the load current, which can be considered a disturbance of the voltage controller, can be used to improve the disturbance rejection performance. However, during the parallel operation of UPSs, circulating current can occur between UPS modules when performing both feed-forward control and droop control because feed-forward control reduces the circulating current impedance. This study proposes a feed-forward compensation technique that considers the impedance of circulating current. An additional feed-forward compensation technique is developed to enhance the disturbance rejection performance. The validity of the proposed feed-forward compensation technique is verified by the experiment results of the parallel operation of a 500 W double-conversion UPS module.

At present, the low-voltage, high-current type power supply is mainly used for effective sterilization in the ballast water treatment system. Research on PSFB converters without output capacitors has been ongoing. Such converters effectively treat ballast water without a separate disinfectant through electric pulses by applying a pulse-type power to the output electrode without an output capacitor. However, in the case of the pulse-type electrolysis treatment method, voltage overshoot can occur due to abrupt voltage fluctuations when the load changes, resulting in circuit reliability problems because of the output capacitorless system. Therefore, a new voltage control algorithm is required. In this paper, we will discuss voltage control for pulsed electrolysis topology without an output capacitor. The proposed voltage control method has been verified using Simulation and experiment. The usefulness of the proposed control method has been proven by the experimental results.

A single-phase PVPCS(photovoltaic power conditioning system) that contains a single phase dc-ac inverter tends to draw an ac ripple current at twice the out frequency. Such a ripple current may shorten passive elements life span and worsen output current THD. As a result, it may reduce the efficiency of the whole PVPCS system. In this paper, the ripple current propagation is analyzed, and two methods to reduce the ripple current are proposed. Firslyt, this paper presents notch filter with IP voltage controller to reject specific current ripple in single-phase PVPCS. The notch filter can be designed that suppress just only specific frequency component and no phase delay. The proposed notch filter can suppress output command signal in the ripple bandwidth for reducing output current THD. Secondly, for reducing specific current ripple, the other method is feed-forward compensation to incorporate a current control loop in the dc-dc converter. The proposed notch filter and feed-forward compensation method have been verified with computer simulation and simulation results obtained demonstrate the validity of the proposed control scheme.

In this paper, improvement method of control performance by a full-order observer using reduced-order state equation is proposed in the low speed range. Full-order observer using reduced-order state equation is the motor speed and the disturbance torque observer. The proposed algorithm is very stable in the low speed range about 1.9[rpm]. The disturbance torque in the motor drive system degrades speed control performance in the low speed range. The proposed algorithm estimated both motor speed and disturbance torque. The estimated disturbance torque is used as a feedforward value in output of the speed controller, As a result, it improves the response of load torque in the low speed range(1.9rpm).
