영상정보용 공용데이터링크 표준화 발전방향

  • 미래 전에서는 정보의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있으며 정보의 수집 및 전파, 정확한 지휘결심 및 전파, 기동타격체계의 통제 등으로 이어지는 지휘통제의 전 과정을 유기적으로 연결하여, 그 성능을 극대화시키는 것이 네트워크 중심전(NCW: Net-Centric Warfare)의 개념이다. NCW 실현을 위해 개발중인 여러 체계 중 주목 받고 있는 것이 무인기(UAV: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) 이다. 무인기는 감시정찰, 고정밀 타격, 그리고 전투피해평가 기능 등을 수행하며, 전술적인 상황인식이 가능하게 한다. 무인기가 이러한 임무를 수행하기 위해서는 비행체의 상태정보, 비행체의 조종통제정보, 그리고 임무 탑재체가 획득한 정보의 간단없고 정확한 전달이 요구된다. 이러한 정보를 전송하기 위한 비행체와 지상체간의 제반 통신을 데이터 링크(Data Link)라 하며, NCW 구현에 있어서 가장 핵심이 되는 요소이다. 세계 각국은 영상정보 수집자산으로서 무인기와 데이터링크의 개발에 박차를 가하고 있는 실정이며, 우리 군도 전력화가 계획된 각 제대별 무인기의 통합운용을 위한 영상정보 공용데이터 링크 (MPI-CDL: Multi-Platform Image and Intelligence Commom Data Link)를 개발중에 있으며 지속적인 영상정보 수집자산의 소요증가에 따른 주파수 획득문제와 사업별 독자적인 데이터 링크의 개발을 지양하고 기존체계와의 상호운용 및 단절없는 통신을 보장을 위해 개발과 동시에 국가적 차원에서의 기술구조 표준화가 추진되어야 한다. 이러한 시점에서 본고에서는 먼저 선진국의 (CDL : Commom Data Link) 표준화 동향을 알아보고, 상호운용성과 연동을 위한 한국형 MPI-CDL 기술 표준화방향을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Threat Evaluation(TE) which has air intelligence attained by identifying friend or foe evaluates the target's threat degree, so it provides information to Weapon Assignment(WA) step. Most of TE data are passed by sensor measured values, but existing techniques(fuzzy, bayesian network, and so on) have many weaknesses that erroneous linkages and missing data may fall into confusion in decision making. Therefore we need to efficient Threat Evaluation system that can refine various sensor data's linkages and calculate reliable threat values under unpredictable war situations. In this paper, we suggest new threat evaluation system based on information fusion JDL model, and it is principle that combine fuzzy which is favorable to refine ambiguous relationships with bayesian network useful to inference battled situation having insufficient evidence and to use learning algorithm. Finally, the system's performance by getting threat evaluation on an air defense scenario is presented.

The design of a Portable Automatic Test Equipment for Operational Availability of Combat System (전투체계 운용 가용도 향상을 위한 이동형 자동화시험장비 설계)

  • It is important to increase the probability that all developed weapon systems can be operated in a steady state at any time. In the case of Integrated Logistics Support, this probability is referred to as operational availability, and the numerical value is quantified during the development process. There are several ways to improve operational availability for successful development of weapon systems. One of the methods is to reduce total corrective maintenance time through Automatic Test Equipment(ATE). Recently, customers in the defense market have become aware of this and demand ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems. Therefore, this paper proposes ways to improve operational availability of weapon systems by changing the method of operating the ATE. The detailed method is to allow field maintenance personnel to carry out field maintenance support onsite. This is an effective way to reduce the total corrective maintenance time of weapon systems by reducing the travel time of field maintenance personnel. The proposed ATE is proved to be able to achieve superior maintenance and operational availability.

  • Discussion on restoration of Yi Sun-sin's Geobukseon used in sea battles of Imjin War continues. This is because no historical records which we can understand external and internal structure of Geobukseon used in Imjin War do not remain until now. The Geobukseon currently restored based on pictures of woodprint of Jella-jwasuyeong and Tongjaeyeong Geobukseon in Yi-chungmugong Jeonseo published by king's command in the 19th year (1795) of King Jeongjo, but two Geobukseons were built 203 years after Imjin war and not the same as that of Imjin War. Geobukseon that was built by Yi Sun-sin in Imjin War and restored now has many problems in terms of its structure and shape since they do not accord with the records of the literature at that time. Yi Deok-hong's Picture of Hexangonal Ship, drawing Geobukseon in 1593 for the first time was not in it in the study of Geobukseon, but it agrees with Imjin War in terms of the time and in analysis of the structure through picture interpretation and the relationship between Panokseon, Jella-jwasuyeong, and Tongjaeyeong Geobukseon, the center of the upper part of the roof cover is flat, and iron spikes are stuck in the front, back, left and right. The structure and shapes of Geobukseon in the records at the time of Imjin War.

Evaluation of AHP-Based Mobile MMORPG Game Interface Usability (AHP 기반 모바일 MMORPG 인터페이스 사용성 평가)

  • The use of games using smartphones have become universal, and the market share of MMORPG among various game genres shows an uptrend. However, MMORPG requires complex interface in view of the genre characteristics, and therefore, there are difficulties in building interface for efficient game play. This study analyzed game interface characteristics to suggest MMORPG game interface suitable for the mobile environment, and carried out a questionnaire survey evaluation on the usability of fight, exploration, character and transaction interfaces targeting 12 users. To quantitatively evaluate the subjective questionnaire survey results, this study analyzed a correlation between the characteristics of game interface and popularity using AHP. As a result, there was a close correlation between game selection & popularity and interface, and this study ascertained that interface development through game interface usability evaluation using AHP was possible.

  • The future battlefield environment has changed platform centric warfare into a network centric warfare. The NCO is a operational concept to improve combat power through information sharing, shared situational awareness, decision making and synchronized action based on powerful network grid. In addition, these operational environment is composed of physical, information, cognitive and social domains. The platform environment system is associated with the OSI 7 layer. However, OSI 7 layer is limited to express NCW environment including cognitive and social domains. Therefore, we requires a new model for expressing cognitive and social domains. After we developed a new model, this model applied to the NCW architecture taxonomy.

Premedication of Oral Midazolam for Smooth Anesthesia Induction of Uncooperative Patients (협조에 어려움을 보이는 장애인 환자에서 전신마취 전 경구 Midazolam 전투약의 효과 분석)

  • Background: Adult patients with intellectual disabilities often strongly resist the anesthetic administration for dental procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of midazolam premedication in improving the cooperation level of patients who are likely to be combative and irritated during general anesthesia (GA) induction. Methods: The patients who had received dental treatment under ambulatory GA for more than two times were included. And we selected 13 patients total that needed physical restraint or ketamine IM prior to induction at the first GA, and were prescribed midazolam tablet (7.5-15 mg) at the following GA. We reviewed pre-anesthetic records and anesthesia records, and evaluated cooperative levels of patients (4 levels scale) during anesthesia induction and recovery time retrospectively. Results: All 13 patients (Male 11, Female 2) had severe mental disabilities. The average age of the patients was 24 ${\pm}$ 7 (13-37) years and their average weight was 58 ${\pm}$ 16 (34-91) kg. At the first GA, 10 patients needed physical restraint prior to induction (level 3). And 3 patients were so poorly cooperative that the induction procedure was performed after intramuscular injection of ketamine (level 4). But after the midazolam intake, 7 patients were willing to receive the anesthetic induction (level 1, 2), and 6 patient needed physical restraint (P < 0.05). There were no statistical differences in the duration of general anesthesia and postoperative recovery. Conclusions: Oral intake of midazolam was effective in improvement of cooperation without any complications.

  • 적외선 검출소자(Infrared Photodetector)는 근적외선에서 원적외선 영역에 이르는 광범위한 파장 범위의 적외선을 이용하는 기기로서 대상물이 방사하는 적외선 영역의 에너지를 흡수하여 이를 영상화할 수 있는 장비이다. 적외선 관련 기술은 2차 세계대전 기간에 태동하였으며, 현재에는 원거리 감지기술 등과 접목되면서 그 활용 분야가 다양해지고 있다. 특히 능동형 정밀 타격무기를 비롯한 감시 정찰 장비 및 지능형 전투 장비 시스템 등에 대한 요구를 바탕으로 보다 정밀하고 신속한 표적 감지 및 정보처리 기술에 관한 연구가 선진국을 통해서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 기존의 Bolometer 형식의 열 감지 소자는 반응 속도가 느리고 측정 감도가 낮은 단점이 있으며, MCT(HgCdTe)를 이용한 적외선 검출기의 경우 높은 기계적 결함과 77K 저온에서 동작해야하기 때문에 발생하는 추가 비용 등이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다[1]. 이에 반해 화합물 반도체 자기조립 양자점(self-assembled quantum dot)을 이용한 적외선 수광소자는 양자점이 가지는 불연속적인 내부 에너지 준위로 인하여, 높은 내부 양자 효율과 온도 안정성을 기대할 수 있으며, 고성능, 고속처리, 저소비전력 및 저소음의 실현이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 적층 InAs/InGaAs dot-in-a-well 구조를 유기금속화학기상증착법을 이용하여 성장하고 이를 소자에 응용하였다. 균일한 적층 양자점의 성장을 위해서 원자현미경(atomic force microscopy)을 이용하여, 각 층의 양자점의 크기와 밀도를 관찰하였고, photoluminescence (PL)를 이용하여 발광특성을 연구하였다. 각 층간의 GaAs space layer의 두께와 온도 조절 과정을 조절함으로써 균일한 적층 양자점 구조를 얻을 수 있었다. 이를 이용하여 양자점의 전도대 내부의 에너지 준위간 천이(intersubband transition)를 이용하는 n-type GaAs/intrinsic InAs 양자점/n-type GaAs 구조의 양자점 적외선수광소자 구조를 성장하였다. 이 과정에서 상부 n-type GaAs의 성장 온도가 600도 이상이 되는 경우 발광효율이 급격히 감소하고, 암전류가 크게 증가하는 것을 관찰하였다. 이는 InAs 양자점과 주변 GaAs 간의 열에 의한 상호 확산에 의하여 양자점의 전자 구속 효과를 저해하는 것으로 설명된다.

A Study on the Interoperability of ROK Air Force Virtual and Constructive Simulation (공군 전투기 시뮬레이터와 워게임 모델의 V-C 연동에 대한 연구)

  • LVC(Live-Virtual-Constructive) training system is drawing attention due to changes in battlefield situation and the development of advanced information and communication technologies. The ROKAF(Republic of Korea Air Force) plans to construct LVC training system capable of scientific training. This paper analyzes the results of V-C interoperability test with three fighter simulators as virtual systems and a theater-level wargame model as a constructive system. The F-15K, KF-16, and FA-50 fighter simulators, which have different interoperable methods, were converted into a standard for simulation interoperability. Using the integrated field environment simulator, the fighter simulators established a mutually interoperable environment. In addition, the Changgong model, which is the representative training model of the Air Force, was converted to the standard for simulation interoperability, and the integrated model was implemented with optimized interoperability performance. Throughput experiments, It was confirmed that the fighter simulators and the war game model of the ROKAF could be interoperable with each other. The results of this study are expected to be a good reference for the future study of the ROKAF LVC training system.

Analysis of SEAD Mission Procedures for Manned-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Teaming (유무인기 협업 기반의 SEAD 임무 수행절차 분석)

  • Due to the changes in future war environment and the technological development of the aviation weapon system, it is required to carry out on the analysis of the Manned-Unmanned aerial vehicles Teaming(MUM-T). Conventional manned-unmanned aerial vehicles operate according to the air strategy missions and vehicles' performance. In this paper, we analyze conventional aerial vehicle's mission to derive various kinds of missions of MUM-T after analyzing the unmanned aircraft systems roadmap issued by US DoD and the air strategy of US Air Force. Next, we identify the basic operations of the vehicles to carry out the missions, select the MUM-T based Suppression of Enemy Air Defense missions(SEAD), and analyze the procedure for performing the missions step by step. In this paper, we propose a procedure of the mission in the context of physical space and timeline for the realization of the concept of MUM-T.
