EMD based hybrid models to forecast the KOSPI (코스피 예측을 위한 EMD를 이용한 혼합 모형)

  • The paper considers a hybrid model to analyze and forecast time series data based on an empirical mode decomposition (EMD) that accommodates complex characteristics of time series such as nonstationarity and nonlinearity. We aggregate IMFs using the concept of cumulative energy to improve the interpretability of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) from EMD. We forecast aggregated IMFs and residue with a hybrid model that combines the ARIMA model and an exponential smoothing method (ETS). The proposed method is applied to forecast KOSPI time series and is compared to traditional forecast models. Aggregated IMFs and residue provide a convenience to interpret the short, medium and long term dynamics of the KOSPI. It is also observed that the hybrid model with ARIMA and ETS is superior to traditional and other types of hybrid models.

Comparison of Analysis Methods for Designed Spudcan Bearing Capacity and Penetration Behavior for Southwest Sea Soil (서남해안 해저 토질을 대상으로 설계한 스퍼드캔의 지지력 및 침투 거동 분석을 위한 해석방법 비교)

  • Jack-up type WTIV(Wind Turbine Installation Vessel) is used to avoid the effects of waves when installing wind turbines in the Southwest Sea of South Korea. During the preloading procedure, unexpected penetration may cause some risks such as excessive penetration or punch-through failure. To ensure the safety of the WTIV during preloading, the bearing capacities should be evaluated based on the soil data at each borehole. Eight boreholes (OW-1 to -8) have been drilled in the Southwest Sea of South Korea. The bearing capacities of a spudcan designed to be used in this district are calculated using both a conventional analysis and finite element analysis with the soil properties of OW-1 to -8. A finite element analysis is carried out for OW-1, -3, and -4 to gain an in-depth understanding of the soil behavior during the penetration. OW-1, -3, and -4 are representative boreholes for a strong layer overlying a soft layer, a general soft layer, and a soft layer overlying a strong layer, respectively. The resultant bearing capacity curves versus the depth of the numerical analysis are compared with the conventional method. The results show that the conventional analysis is conservative. Case studies for different spudcan areas and shapes are also conducted to seek an appropriate spudcan type for the Southwest Sea of South Korea. Finally, a spudcan with a rectangular shape and a bearing area of $112.8m^2$ is selected.

  • When surveying the cultural heritages especially in the case of stone structures, preserving their original state is of primary importance. For the effective assessment of survey results of stone structure, the dynamic characteristics of that system should be considered. Dynamic characteristics of stone masonry structures depend on several factors such as coefficients of friction, contact conditions, and number of layers of bonding stones. These factors can be estimated by using the dynamic analysis results. This paper describes a method for natural frequency determination of traditional stone arch bridge subjected to compressive force. For this purpose, multi-layered granite brick models of for arch bridge were made and fundamental frequencies corresponding increasing axial forces were measured.

  • 본 논문은 개미군락최적화 알고리즘을 이용한 트러스 구조물의 설계최적화에 대한 이론적 배경과 수치해석 결과를 기술하였다. 트러스의 설계최적화를 수행하기 위하여 구조물의 중량을 최소화하는 것을 목적 함수로 하고 구조물에서 발생하는 응력과 변위의 허용치를 초과하지 않는 것을 구속조건으로 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 개미군락알고리즘을 구조물의 최적화에 적용하기 위하여 외판원문제(travelling salesman problem: TSP)를 재 정의하는 방법을 사용하였으며 최대-최소개미시스템(max-min ant system)을 도입하여 트러스 구조물의 최적설계를 수행하였다. 이때 이산화 된 설계변수를 사용하였으며 구속조건을 처리하기 위해서 벌점함수를 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 개미군락최적화 알고리즘은 구조최적화에 그 적용 가능성이 높았으며 전통적인 최적검색 기법의 새로운 대안으로 이용될 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study aims to find out the implications of the Chinese cultural industry by analyzing the successful factors of the IP acrobatic stage drama "Mongjiryeo," which was well received through internal and external performances by creating acrobatics repres enting traditional Chinese culture as a stage play that conforms to the trend of modern society. Th e findings are as follows. First, China's cultural industry grew and developed quantitatively and qualitatively based on the government's active promotion policy and the huge domestic market. Second, through challenges and changes to traditional culture such as acrobatics and costumes, creative standard presentation and practical experience were attempted as modern stage plays. Third, Oriental humanities ideas and emotions were introduced amid the reform and innovative changes of traditional culture. The results of this study will enable various free interpretation and expansion from a humanities perspective. And it could be used as a reference material for the study of the creation of new culture utilizing the analysis and approach of the traditional Chinese cultural archetype.

  • 기후변화로 인해 가뭄 재해는 수자원 관리 및 계획에 큰 부담으로 작용하므로 이에 대한 연구와 대책 마련이 필요하나, 아직까지 가뭄 특성의 정량적인 거동 분석이나 기후변화가 가뭄에 미치는 영향 연구는 아직 미흡하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 가뭄변수 분석을 통해 결합확률을 이용한 가뭄분석이 타당함을 보이고, 코풀라 이론에 의해 결합확률을 이용한 가뭄빈도분석을 수행하고자 하였다. 또한 기후변화가 유역단위의 수문학적인 가뭄에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하고 예측하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 가뭄 사상에 대하여 전통적인 방법으로의 빈도분석을 수행하였다. 이를 Clayton 코풀라 함수를 적용하여 가뭄의 결합확률을 고려한 빈도분석을 수행해 기존의 단변량 기반의 빈도분석 방법과 비교 분석 하였다. 또한, 결합확률을 이용하여 가뭄의 재현빈도를 분석하고 이를 이용하여 가뭄의 심도-지속기간-빈도 곡선을 유도하였다. 그리고 기후변화가 가뭄에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 IPCC의 SRES A1B 시나리오와 KMA RCM 기후모형을 이용하여 미래 가뭄 시계열을 산정하고, 미래 가뭄에 대한 결합확률 빈도해석과 미래 가뭄분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 가까운 미래에 짧은 지속기간을 가진 심한 가뭄이 다발할 것으로 전망되었다.

State-Space Equation Model for Motion Analysis of Floating Structures Using System-Identification Methods (부유식 구조체 운동 해석을 위한 시스템 식별 방법을 이용한 상태공간방정식 모델)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for establishing a state-space equation model for the motion analysis of floating structures subjected to wave loads, by applying system-identification techniques. Traditionally, the motion of floating structures has been analyzed in the time domain by integrating the Cummins equation over time, which utilizes a convolution integral term to account for the effects of the retardation function. State-space equation models have been studied as a way to efficiently solve floating-motion equations in the time domain. The proposed approach outlines a procedure to derive the target transfer function for the load-displacement input/output relationship in the frequency domain and subsequently determine the state-space equation that closely approximates it. To obtain the state-space equation, the method employs the N4SID system-identification method and an optimization approach that treats the coefficients of the numerator and denominator polynomials as design variables. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we applied it to the analysis of a single-degree-of-freedom model and the motion of a six-degree-of-freedom barge. Our findings demonstrate that the presented state-space equation model aligns well with the existing analysis results in both the frequency and time domains. Notably, the method ensures computational accuracy in the time-domain analysis while significantly reducing the calculation time.

  • The proposed method uses Generalized Cross Correlation - Phase Transform (GCC-PHAT) method with nonlinear preprocessing and a frequency domain low-pass filter. In this paper, by reinterpreting the calculation process of GCC-PHAT as DFT, we derive that there is an effective frequency band used for time delay estimation in GCC-PHAT, and by using only the effective band using a low-pass filter, the noise component is reduced and it improvesthe time delay performance in impulsive noise environments. By comparing the proposed method with the traditional GCC-PHAT in an impulsive noise environment, we show that the GCC-PHAT becomes more robust to the impulsive noise.

Research on the Least Mean Square Algorithm Based on Equivalent Wiener-Hopf Equation (등가의 Wiener-Hopf 방정식을 이용한 LMS 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the methods which obtain the solution of Wiener-Hopf equation by LMS algorithm and get the coefficient of TDL filter in lattice filter directly. For this result, we apply an orthogonal input signal generated by lattice filter into an equivalent Wiener-Hopf equation and shows the scheme that can obtain the solution by using the MMSE algorithm. Conventionally, the method like aforementioned scheme can get an error and regression coefficient recursively. However, in this paper, we can obtain an error and the coefficients of TDL filter recursively. And, we make an theoretical analysis on the convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm. Then we can see that the result is similar to conventional analysis. Also, by computer simulation, we can make sure that the proposed algorithm has an excellent performance.

  • Based on the natural colors and techniques of Korean traditional Dancheong, the image from splendor and magnificence is used as a jewel in making ornaments by subjective interpretation of the researcher. The purpose of this paper is to propose the possibility of using as a jewelry design by combining the possibilities of various color expressions, the combination of solidity and luster synthetic resin by utilizing natural pigments and mono images used in Korean traditional monophonic. In this study, this study presented the possibility of accessing in the life of a modern person pursuing a lifestyle by introducing a mono image into jewelry design, and at the same time, approaching ornaments by using traditional materials of the past, modern materials, and digital production methods. We are looking for a wide variety of jewelry designs to be utilized.
