  • Lake Biwa Canal was a dream project that reminds us the passion and innovation of Kyoto Citizens more than water supply. It is a modernization project combining engineering knowledge and scientific technology, which started transportation by ship through big-scale civil construction as well as supplying electricity as the first waterpower plant in Japan, and it overcame the physiographic limit through adopting unique method of waterway transportation. Lake Biwa Canal, which has tangible and intangible culture heritage value as the traditional space of Kyoto, the Old Capital of 1200 years, conceives a cultural meaning that is connected through various mutual relation as well as scientific technologic factor. Lake Biwa Canal is not only the function for supplying water to gardens and temples of Kyoto region, but it is also a cultural fruit that is formed by complex causal relationship of various contents such as geographical and environmental background, the phases of the times, local development policy, political circumstances and religions. This study is aimed at interpreting the value of Lake Biwa Canal multilaterally by the convergence of cultural and technological aspects through the view of the world which the age tried to pursue, focusing on the construction of Lake Biwa Canal which was accomplished in the process of promoting the modernization of Kyoto.

The Landscape Value of Asan Oeam-ri's Folk Village as Cultural Heritage (아산 외암마을 토속경관의 문화유산적 가치)

  • During the process of modernization, many rural villages in Korea have experienced degeneration and breakdown, losing sustainability. However, Oeam village in Asan City, South Chungcheong Province (State-designated cultural heritage, Important Folk Material No. 236) has established itself as a unique folk village, which evolves with sustainability, pursuing the revival of Neo-traditionalism. Oeam village is a tribal village of the Yis from the Yean region and has maintained environmental, economic, and social sustainability and soundness for over five centuries. Thus, the village has sustained itself well enough to be a cultural asset with 'Outstanding Universal Value', in terms of its value as world cultural heritage. The village maintains its own identity, filled with a variety of traditional and scenic cultural assets that symbolize a gentry village. Those assets include Confucian sceneries (head family houses, ancestral shrines, tombs, gravestones, commemorative monuments, and pavilions), various assets of folk religion (totem poles, protective trees at the entrance of a village, shrines for mountain spirits, village forests), tangible and intangible cultural assets related to daily lives (vigorous family activities, rigorous ancestral rituals, family rituals, collective agriculture and protection of ecosystem), which have all been well preserved and inherited. In particular, this village is an example of a well-being community with a well-preserved folksy atmosphere, which is based on environmentally sound settlements (nature + economy + environment + community) in a village established according to geomancy, East Asia's unique principle of environmental design. In addition, the village has kept the sustainability and authenticity for more than 500 years, combining restraint towards the environment and the view of the environment which respects the natural order and cultural values (capacity + healthy + sustainability). Therefore, the Oeam folk village can be a representative example of a folksy and scenic Korean community which falls into the category of IV (to exemplify an outstanding type of building, architectural or technological ensemble, or landscape which illustrates significant stages in human history) and V (to exemplify an outstanding traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is representative of cultures, or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change) of Unesco's World Cultural Heritage.

  • Local culture plays a role in enhancing the cultural competence of citizens by approaching branding from the perspective of brandization by implying value amid changes in local traditions and modern times. Therefore, this study established a research model with brand loyalty, brand recognition, perceived quality, and brand image as dependent variables in order to analyze the impact of local cultural characteristics on cultural brand asset components. We tested the research hypothesis and analyzed it, As local cultural characteristics affect cultural brand asset components, it was found that it is necessary to change the perception of local culture and promote traditional culture. In addition, Yeoju City needs to plan a festival that combines tradition and local culture through the convergence of content and cultural policy for the recognition and brand image of the Yeoju Yeongneung, a World Heritage Site, and it is urgent to change the direction of citizens. In addition, it was found that it is desirable to expand research on the formation of cultural brand assets according to local cultural affinity.

Current State of the Roadside Forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong and the Perspectives on the Name of the Natural Monuments (의성 사촌리 가로숲의 현황 및 천연기념물 명칭에 관한 고찰)

  • The traditional village forests called Dangsan forest and Bibo forest in Korea represent unique cultural landscape with a history of more than several hundred years. The Natural Monument # 405 named 'Roadside forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong' was established by the ancestors who settled in the village about six hundred years ago. The Dangsan ritual had been held in the forest and the ritual started to be held at a shrine since early 1700's. Although the place where Dangsan ritual was held has been transferred from forest to outside forest, the status of Dangsan forest was not changed. The forest has not been known as a Dangsan forest. Instead, it has been known as a Bibo forest with a name meaning roadside forest. It is our duty to hand historic monuments on in full richness of their authenticity. No new construction, demolition or modification which would alter the mass and colour must be allowed. Furthermore, every means must be taken to facilitate the preservation of the monument and to reveal it without distorting its meaning. The 'Roadside forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong' is a deciduous forest composed of Quercus aliena, Quercus acutissima, and Sophora japonica, with a size of $920{\times}90m$ at the side of a stream. An old Sophora japonica tree known as a scholar tree indicates that this forest is related to confucianism. The name 'Roadside forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong' does not seem to be correct. In fact, the traditional village forest in Sachon-ri was a riparian buffer. The 'Roadside forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong' need to be changed to 'Dangsan forest in Sachon-ri, Uiseong'. With a correction on name and authenticity restored, the value of cultural heritage in Sachon-ri would be recognized effectively.

  • The intangible cultural heritage possesses the extremely important meaning and value irrespective of its form. The value of the intangible cultural heritage becomes the important driving force in the social development as useful resources of reflecting social aspects and historical records that the life and tradition of past is delivered. Hence, this study aims to propose the method to manage and provide of the intangible cultural heritage syntagmatically from the digital aspect. For this the plan, the study compared and analyzed the current status of digital archiving of intangible cultural heritage. Consequently, based on the analysis, policy based on cultural governance and standardized management factors were developed. The method to materialize digital contents was developed for constructing digital archives and utilization of intangible cultural heritage can be facilitated.

A Hydraulic and Hydrologic Investigation of Vegetation Recruitment on Sandbars in Front of the Historical Village of Hahoe on the Nakdong River (낙동강 하회마을 사주상 식생활착에 관한 수리, 수문학적 조사분석)

  • 낙동강 상류에 있는 하회마을은 영남지방 600년 전통의 농경마을로서 귀중한 전통문화유산이다. 이 마을의 역사적, 문화적, 경관적 가치 중 하나는 마을 앞을 흐르는 낙동강과 강 양안에 형성된 백사장 사주이다. 그러나 1970년대 중반과 1990년대 초 상류에 두 댐의 건설로 하류 유황과 유사 이송 양상이 변화하여 과거 수백 년 동안 '완벽한' 백사장을 유지해온 두 사주에 식생이 점차 이입, 활착하여 하회마을의 역사적, 문화적 경관 가치에 부정적 영향을 주기 시작하였다. 낙동강 본류에 안동댐이 준공된 1976년 이후에는 댐 건설 전과 비교하여 큰 변화는 없었으나 반변천에 임하댐이 준공된 1992년 이후 점차적으로 두 사주에 식생이 이입, 활착하기 시작하여 현재 상당한 범위까지 식생이 번무하였다. 이 같은 사주 상 식생 이입과 활착의 원인과 과정을 기초적으로 조사, 분석하기 위해 우선 과거 자료가 있는 항공사진과 지상 사진을 수집하여 연도별 식생 활착 상황을 조사하였다. 다음 하회마을 상하류 약 11.5 km 구간을 대상으로 과거 홍수자료를 가지고 두댐 건설 전후 기간으로 나누어 2차원 흐름 모의를 하여 무차원 하상소류력 분포를 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 기존 항공, 지상 사진과 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과 임하댐 건설 이후 두 사주의 홍수시 무차원 하상소류력이 하상입자가 움직이기 시작하는 0.06 이하가 되는 부분이 확대되어 식생 이입, 활착에 유리한 조건을 형성하게 된 것으로 나타났다.

  • Metaverse fits well with the lifestyle of MZ generation who carries smart-phones at all times and value their identity. This study proposes a planning model that develops Minhwa, traditional Korean culture and arts, into art galleries on Zepeto, a metaverse platform. To this end, the characteristics of the metaverse platform, open world, sandbox, creator economy, and avatar, are analyzed and developed into a planning to open a Minhwa museum on Zepeto. While reinterpreting traditional Korean art in a modern way, it is worth researching as a metaverse planning and development model suitable for the new-tro sensibility of the MZ generation.

군자리더십측정을 위한 문항개발연구

  • 리더의 리더십이 팀 또는 조직의 효과성에 기여하기 위해서는 리더의 영향력을 구성원들이 수용하고 목표달성을 위해 노력하도록 구성원들을 동기부여시켜야 한다. 그런데, 리더의 영향력을 수용하고 추종하는데 구성원들간에 공유되어 있는 리더에 대한 표상에 리더가 일치하여야 한다. 이상적 리더에 대한 공유된 표상에는 그 사회문화에서 지배적인 가치규범이 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 본 연구는 이러한 가치의 역할이 중요하다는 인식에 착안하여 한국인의 사고와 행동방식에 지대한 영향을 미쳐온 전통적인 유교적 가치에서 가정하고 있는 이상적인 인간상으로서의 군자를 현대 경영조직상황하에서 리더십의 관점에서 살펴볼 것을 제안한다. 이를 위해 사서(四書)-논어, 맹자, 중용, 대학에서 제시된 군자의 성격 또는 행동적 특징들을 내용분석하여 리더십 구조를 정의내리고 이를 측정할 수 있는 설문문장을 개발하였다. 그 결과, 군자리더십은 자기계발(思學), 인간존중(忠恕), 예절중시(禮), 공정함(義), 사람 관리의 5개 요인구조를 가지고 있음을 발견하였다. 추후 연구에서는 개발된 설문문항의 신뢰성과 타당성을 검증하고, 본 연구에서 개발한 군자리더십이 실제 경영조직에서 경영자의 리더십효과성을 잘 설명해주는 변별력 있는 개념인지 검증하는 노력이 필요하다. 이는 서양의 보편적으로 효과적인 리더십 유형, 예를 들면, 변혁적 리더십 유형과 같은 경쟁모형의 도입을 통해 보다 더욱 생동감 있는 측정이 가능할 것이다. 아울러 유교적 가치와 현대적 가치로 대변되는 합리성에 기반한 서구의 가치가 군자리더십과 어떤 관계를 가지고 있는 지 살펴 볼 필요가 있다.

  • The inter­relationship of Korea southeast region community related to a mask dramas in depth. The Folk mask dramas are, for traditional community members to live well and enjoy cultural practices in society. Even if a mask drama would be performed in the 21st century, it would be the one of traditional society. It shows the life of traditional society and proposes the issue of traditional society. The thing is handed down well with technology of a mask drama assigned as intangible cultural asset. The Korea southeast region, Kyongsang Provinces, or Yeongnam area has been handed down several kind of mask dramas. These are Byeolsingut Talnori with religious, the Ogwangdae of wandering play team, the Ogwangdae of local residents, and the Dulnorum of local residents. The mask dramas of Korea southeast region are specified as intangible cultural asset, many traditional mask play were restored. The restoring is imitation. These things are difficult to assigned as the intangible cultural asset. But though it is the imitation of the mask dramas, it is culture phenomenon. So we need to make the fostering system.

  • 국민관광객과 방한 외래관광객의 증가(문체부, 2012)로 도서와 해안지역에 대한 관광수요가 확산됨에 따라 중앙정부와 지방정부는 등대(예 : 영도등대, 간절곶등대, 울기등대, 거문도등대)를 중심으로 국민생활속의 해양관광공간, 해양레저스포츠공간, 어촌체험공간, 유통관광중심의 어항개발 및 크루즈관광활성화를 위하여 노력하고 있다. 새로움을 추구하는 관광객의 욕구가 증가하면서 틈새관광(niche tourism)의한 형태로 도서 관광(small island tourism)이 주목되고 있다(김영준, 2011). 내륙 중심의 관광에서 해양 관광으로 관심이 변화 확산되면서 친수공간시설에 대한 관광수요의 증가가 예상된다(이한석, 심미숙, 2009). 이와 같은 현실에서 도서에 위치하고 있는 등대자원을 활용하여 관광객의 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 등대관광활성화가 기대된다. 등대가 전통적인 기능과 역할에 충실한 항로표지로서 뿐만 아니라 공공서비스장소로서 해양문화를 향유할 수 있는 체험의 장을 제공하고 건축문화유산으로서의 역사성과 등대 고유의 기능에 대한 관광객의 흥미와 욕구를 잘 접목시켜 해양관광자원으로서의 가치를 극대화할 수 있을 것이다.
