전기비저항을 이용한 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강의 인성열화도 평가 (Evaluation of Toughness Degradation of 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V Steel by Electrical Resistivity)

  • 사용중인 터빈 로터에서 균열이 발견된다면 그 안전성을 평가하기 위해서는 제조 당시의 재료물성 데이터가 아닌 열화된 재료의 물성 및 인성을 사용해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 시험재료로 터빈 로터재로 널리 사용되고 있는 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V강을 사용하였다. 로터강의 경우 발전소에서 실제 사용된 열화재를 종류별로 입수하는 것은 매우 어렵기 때문에 실제로 열화된 재료의 미세조직과 유사한 미세조직을 갖는 시료를 얻기 위해서 실제 사용온도보다 높은 $630^{\circ}C$에서 등온 열화처리하여 열화도가 다른 7종류의 시료를 만들었다. 열화도와 재료의 인성을 비파괴적으로 평가하기 위하여 직류 전위차법을 이용하였으며, 상온에서 전기비저항을 측정하였다. 열화도의 증가에 따라 전기비저항과 재료인성은 일정시간까지는 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 전기비저항과 인성과의 상관관계를 만들었다. 따라서 이를 이용하여 비파괴적으로 재료인성을 평가할 수 있는 기초를 마련하였다.

단핵 및 이핵성 시프염기리간드 Cu(II) 착물의 특성과 Ascorbic Acid에 대한 산화반응 (Properties of Mononuclear and Binuclear Cu(II) Schiff Base Complexes and Oxidation of Ascorbic Acid)

  • 단핵성 네자리 시프염기인 N,N'-bissalicylidene-1,2-phenylenediamine(BSPD)와 이핵성 네자리 시프 염기 리간드인 N,N',N'',N'''-tetrasalicylidene-3,3',4,4'-tetraaminodiphenyl-methane (TSTM) 및 N, N',N'',N'''-tetrasalicylidene-3,3'-diaminobenzidine (TSDB)을 합성하고, 이들 리간드의 양성자 해리상수를 전위차법으로 구하였다. 합성된 시프염기 리간드들과 Cu(II) 이온을 이용해 착물을 합성하여 순환전압-전류법으로 착물의 특성을 측정한 결과 $Cu(II)_2$-TSTM 착물은 순환전압-전류법에서 두 과정 두 단계의 환원과정으로 두 전자의 확산 지배적인 과정으로 일어남을 알았다. 또한 단핵성 착물 Cu(II)-BSPD와 이핵성 착물 $Cu(II)_2$-TSDB 및 $Cu(II)_2$-TSTM을 ascorbic acid의 산화반응에 이용한 결과, 반응속도는 $Cu(II)_2$ -TSTM>$Cu(II)_2$-TSDB>Cu(II)-BSPD의 순으로 이핵성인 $Cu(II)_2$-TSTM 착물이 가장 큰 값을 가짐을 알았다.

리튬 이온 전지의 용매 분해 반응에 대한 연구 (Studies on decomposition of solvent for lithium-ion battery)

  • 1M LiPF_6/EC:DME(1:1) 전해질 용액에서 시간-전위차법, 순환 전압-전류법, 시간-전류법 , 그리고 임피던스법을 이용하여 리튬 이온 전지의 충방전 용량을 조사하였고 초기 충전과정에서 용매 분해로 형성된 필름의 영향을 알아보았다. 충 방전 결과에 따르면, 1 M $LiPF_6/EC:DME$를 이용한 반쪽전지의 초기 비가역 용량은 상당히 크게 나타났다 이러한 비가역 용량은 대부분 용매 분해에 의한 것으로 해석되었으며, 용매 분해로 인하여 MPCF전극 표면에 필름이 형성되었다. 초기 충전과정에서 형성된 필름은 방전과정에서 산화되지 않았으며 2번째 충전부터 용매 분해는 더 이상 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 초기 충전과정에서 EC:DME용매속의 Li이 MPCF층 속으로 삽입될 때 용매와 함께 삽입됨을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 삽입이 진행될 때 MPCF표면의 입자들이 박리되고, 박리된 입자들과 용매 분해 생성물들이 서로 섞여 필름을 형성하므로써 필름의 저항은 크게 나타났다.

증기발생기 세관의 파괴저항 특성 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Fracture Resistance Characteristics for Steam Generator Tubes)

  • The structural and leakage integrity of steam generator tubes should be sustained against all postulated loads even if a crack is present. During the past three decades, most of the efforts with respect to integrity evaluation of steam generator tubes have been focused on limit load solutions but, recently, the applicability of elastic-plastic fracture mechanics was examined cautiously due to its effectiveness. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a testing method to estimate fracture resistance characteristics of steam generator tubes with a through-wall crack. Due to limited thickness and diameter, inevitably, the steam generator tubes themselves were tested instead of standard specimen or alternative ones. Also, a series of three dimensional elastic-plastic finite element analyses were carried out to derive closed-form estimation equations with respect to J-integral and crack extension for direct current potential drop method. Since the effectiveness of $J_{IC}$ as well as J-R curves was proven through comparison with those of standard specimens taken from pipes, it is believed that the proposed scheme can be utilized as an efficient tool for integrity evaluation of cracked steam generator tubes.

  • When crack are detected in aged turbine rotors of power plants, information on fracture resistance of the aged material at operating temperature is needed for determination of critical loading condition and residual life of the turbine. In this study, fracture toughness (J$_lc$) and tearing modulus(T$_mat$) of virgin and thermally degraded 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel, which is one of the most widely used rotor steels, were measured at 538.deg. C according to ASTM E813 and ASTM E1152, respectively. Five kinds of specimen with different degradation levels were prepared by isothermal aging heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C.$ It was observed that J$_lc$ and T$_mat$ value decreased as the degradation level increased. Analysis of microstructures using a scanning electron microscope showed that the decrement of J$_lc$ is related to segregation of impurities at grain boundaries. It was also verified that the DC electric potential drop method is accurate and reliable for crack length monitoring at elevated temperature.

표면균열을 갖는 원형봉재 시편을 이용한 고온 피로균열성장 연구 (A Study on Elevated Temperature Fatigue Crack Growth Using Round Bar Specimen with a Surface Crack)

  • The compact tension specimen geometry has been widely used for measuring fatigue crack growth rates at elevated temperature when the fatigue load is under tension/tension condition. However, most of the elevated temperature components which have significant crack growth life experience fatigue load under tension/compression conditions. Thus test techniques are required since the compact tension specimen cannot be used for tension/compression loading. In this paper, a simplified test procedure for measureing fatigue crack growth rates is proposed, which employs a round bar specimen with a small surface crack. Fatigue crack growth rates under tension/ tension loading conditions at elevated temperature were measured according to the proposed procedure and compared with those previously measured by C/(T) specimens. Since both the measured crack growth rates were comparable, the fatigue crack growth rates under tension/ compression load can be reliably measured by the proposed procedure. For monitoring crack depth. DC electric potential method is employed and an optimal probe location and current input conditions were proposed.

  • Since the examination of CTOD problem revealed that the discrepancy among CTOD's was a matte., of definition, the relationships among parameters based on different definitions have been studied Particularly, the relationship between $\sigma$BS R-curve based on BS 7448 and R-curve based on the recently introduced $\sigma$5 parameter was investigated in this research. For the comparison, compact tension specimens of used 1Cr-0.5Mo steel, heat treated 1Cr-0.5Mo steel to mimic the new one, A12024-T6, and A12024-T351 were prepared and tested. Consequently, the relationship between $\sigma$5 and $\sigma$BS R-curves for tested materials were established by shifting the rotational center which could determined by rotation factor and ligament size.

A106 GrB강 용접부의 염수중 부식피로특성 (Corrosion Fatigue Characteristics of A106-GrB Steel Weldments in NaC1 solution)

  • The horizontal corrosion fatigue tester has been developed for investigating environmental strength. Using this tester, we investigated about corrosion fatigue caracteristics for A106-Gr B steel weldments in 3.5% synthetic seawater and room temperature. Considered parameter is only frequency of 1, 3 and 5Hz.. and Corrosion fatigue crack length was measured by DC potential difference method. From the results, we could find that the horizontal corrosion fatigue tester could be well applied to estimation of fatigue strength. and, In case of 5Hz., corrosion fatigue crack growth pate of A106-Gr B steel weldment was transgranular, and of 1 and 3Hz. showed that transgranular and interfranular was mixed. Also, Material constants of corrosion fatigue crack growth estimated in each frequency were C=9.33$\times$$10^{-9}$ and m=2.93 in 1Hz., C=9.77$\times$$10^{-10}$ and m=3.47 in 3Hz., C=1.02$\times$$10^{-10}$ and m=4.05 in 5Hz

국부변형률근사법을 이용한 차체 점용접부의 피로수명 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study of Fatigue Life Prediction for Automotive Spot Weldment Using Local Strain Approach)

  • The fatigue crack initiation life is studied on automotive tensile-shear spot weldment made from cold rolled carbon steel(SPC) sheet by using DCPDM and local strain approach. It can be found that the fatigue crack initiation behavior in spot weldment can be definitely detected by DCPDM system. To predict the fatigue life of spot weldment, the local stresses and strains at the potential critical region are estimated by approximate method based on Neubers rule and elastic-plastic FEM analysis. A satisfactory correlation between the predicted life obtained from Local strain approach based on Neubers rule and experimental life can be found in spot weldment within a factor of 2.

실배관 파괴특성 평가에 관한 연구 (I) (A Study on the Evaluation of the Pipe Fracture Characteristic (I))

  • In order to perform elastic-plastic fracture mechanical analyses, fracture resistance curves for concerned materials are required. 1T-CT specimen was used to obtain fracture resistance curves. But the fracture resistance curve by the 1T-CT specimen was very conservative to evaluate the integrity of the structure. And fracture resistance curve was affected by the specimen geometry and crack plane orientation. The objective of this paper is to be certain the conservativeness of the fracture resistance curve by the 1T-CT specimen and to provide the additional safety margin. For these, the fracture tests using the real pipe specimen and standard 1T-CT specimen test were performed. 4-point bending jig was manufactured for pipe test and direct current potential drop method was used to measure the crack extension and length for pipe test. From the pipe and the 1T-CT specimen test results, it was observed that the J-integral of the 1T-CT specimen test at the crack initiation point was very small compare to that of the pipe specimen test.
