  • In this study, heat transfer characteristics of vertical fixed bed with air flowing through were experimentally investigated. The experiments were conducted for cases where heat was transfer steady state conditions from an immersed cylindrical heated to the surrounding fixed ved of steel balls. Based on the experimental data, the optimum conditions for heat transfer augmentation have been determined and shows in empirical forms. For the same power loss, comparison of heat transfer effect between the fixed bed and single phase forced convection device indicates that both miniaturization of heat exchange device and heat transfer augmentation at low flow velocity are possible by application of the fixed bed to heat exchangers. The present results could provide a useful design information for the heat exchangers where fixed beds are used.

전자기유도초음파를 이용한 복수기 전열관 결함신호 특성분석 (Characteristic Analysis of Electromagnetic-ultrasonic Guided Waves for Defect Signals in Condenser Tubes)

  • This paper describes a signal processing technique for identifying signals from defects by using an electromagnetic-ultrasonic guided waves method based on a magnetostrictive sensor that generates a torsional mode (T(0, 1)). Because this technique is based on the digital filtering, the filtered signals provide information on the relationship between the cutoff frequency of band-pass filter and the characteristic of defect signals in heat exchange tubes. To verify the performance of the technique, artificial defects with various thickness reduction ration and shape were machined in titanium tubes, and digital filtering results are reported. The results show that digital filtering provides information to the identify shape of defects and the contact condition between the tube and support ring. Therefore, the proposed technique has good potential as a tool for evaluating the integrity of heat exchange tubes.

  • 본 연구에서는 판형열교환기를 적용한 청수제조장치의 성능에 대하여 연구를 수행하였다. 판형열교환기는 자체의 높은 열전달 성능과 컴펙트한 장점으로 하여 산업에서 점차 널리 사용되고 있다. 또한 사용, 유지보수가 다른 종류의 열교환기에 비하여 편리하여 유연성 있게 사용할 수 있다. 본 실험에서는 세브론 각도가 60도인 전열판을 사용하였으며 이젝터의 작동으로 열교환기를 장착하고 있는 탱크내부에 진공압력을 유지함으로서 내부유체가 $51^{\circ}C{\sim}57^{\circ}C$에서 증발현상이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 수치해석적 방법을 통하여 복잡하며 좁은 세브론전열판으로 이루어진 유로내의 유동특성을 파악할 수 있었다.

환상휜의 비등열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Boioling Heat Transfer Characteristics of an Annular Fin)

  • 본 연구는 열에너지 교환을 목적으로 이용되는 환상휜의 비등열전달에서 간섭판의 영향을 고찰한 실험적인 연구이다. 휜과 인접한 간섭판의 간격과, 휜 높이의 변화에 따라 비등열전달에 미치는 영향을 구했다. 휜 간격은 단독 환상휜에 간섭판을 0.05mm에서 2mm 가지 6가지 종류, 그리고 휜 높이는 3 mm , 8mm, 13 mm 의 3 종류로 변화시켰다. 실험결과 휜 높이가 제일 큰 13 mm 간섭판 간격이 0.25mm 로 비교적 좁은 간격임에도, 핵비등영역에서는 열전달 촉진효과가있었다. 그러나 간섭판의 간격이 0.05mm 로 더좁아지면 저열류속 영역에서는 휜 간격 내에 유체가 유입이 어려워 휜 선단만에서의 비등열전달과 일치한다. 이러한 경향은 휜 높이가 작아져도 비슷하다. 또한 휜과 간섭판의 간격이 0.25mm이상이면 간섭판의 영향이 적어, 확대 전열면으로서 전열 촉진효과를 얻을 수 있다.

수평원관내 체적변화를 고려한 얼음의 용용시 전열특성에 관한 연구 (Melting of Ice Inside a Horizontal Cylinder under the Volume Change)

  • Heat transfer phenomena during melting process of the phase change material (ice) was studied by numerical analysis and experiments. In a horizontal ice storage tube, the natural convection caused an increase in melting rate. However, the reduction of the heating surface area caused a decrease in melting rate. Therefore, during the melting process of ice in a horizontal cylinder, the reduction of the heating surface area should be considered. Under the same heating wall and initial water temperature condition, the melting rate became higher for $V_s/V_tot/=0.545 \;than \;that\; for\; V_s/V_tot$/=1.00 due to the difference in the reduction of heating surface area. A modified melting model considering the equivalent thermal conductivity of liquid phase and volume reduction was proposed. The results of the model were compared with the measured values and found to be in good agreement.

미소해칭 전열관의 표면거칠기에 따른 흡수열전달 특성 (Characteristics of Absorption Heat Transfer on Micro-Scale Hatched Tubes with Different Surface Roughness)

  • Objectives of this paper are to investigate the effect of roughness of micro-hatching tubes on the absorption performance and to develop on experimental correlation of Nusselt as a function of the roughness. Three different micro-scale hatched tubes and a bare tube were tested in the present experiment. $H_{2}O/LiBr$ solution is used as working fluid. It was found that absorption performance of micro-scale hatched tubes were improved upto 2 times with an error band of ${\pm}25%$ compared with the bare tube. An experimental correlation of Nusselt was developed as a function of the roughness.

  • In recent applications, map controlled thermostat has been adapted to optimize engine cooling system and vehicle cooling system. First of all, this strategy is focused on improving fuel consumption rate and reducing emissions, especially unburned hydrocarbon. The object can be obtained through controlling engine metal temperature by varying engine coolant temperature with engine load and speed. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of engine metal temperature and heat rejection rate to coolant. From the results of tested engines, it is obvious that fuel consumption rate has more dominant effect on engine metal temperatures than the corresponding engine power does. Also, Re-Nu relation which shows heat rejection rate to coolant in function of air-fuel mixture and engine specifications has been studied. Also, the empirical Re-Nu relation at full loaded engine was developed.

  • 박막 제작공정은 반도체 제작 공정, 고정밀도의 하드디스크 및 레이저 디스크 기술, LCD/P에 DML평판 디스크 플레이어 제작 공정에 있어 중요한 기술이다. 더욱이, 이 공정은 이동 전화 커버의 증착 및 전자 차폐의 일반기술, 램프의 반사판, 화장품 용기, 몇몇 상품에 있어 카메라 렌즈의 광학 표면 코팅과 코팅 필름 제작에 사용된다. 본 연구의 주요목적은 반도체 제작 공정과 많은 산업 분야에서 기본 재료로 사용되는 전영저항의 개발에 있다. 개발 공정은 다음과 같다. 전자빔이 최상의 진공 분위기에서 텅스텐 필라멘트의 열에 의해 방출된다. 그때 전자는 높은 전압에서 가속화된다. 전자들은 반대 재료에 충돌되고, 반대편 재료는 발생 열에 의해 코팅된다. 1차년도 연구목적은 고성능 전열 저항체 개발을 위한 지름 당 필라멘트 선의 기계적 특성을 조사하고 CAE 해석을 수행하며, 2차 년도에는 대량 생산 라인 구축을 위한 자동검사 라인 개발에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 만일, 본 연구를 통해 전열 저항체가 개발된다면, 그 제품은 고효율, 외국제품 대비 가격 경쟁력을 가지므로 제품 경쟁력을 가질 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

회전식 폐열회수 환기유닛의 공기누설 및 전열특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Air Leakage and Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Rotary-type Heat Recovery Ventilator)

  • This study investigates the air leakage and heat transfer characteristics of a rotary-type air-to-air heat exchanger with a fiber polyester matrix. The leakage airflow rate is measured using a tracer gas method for various ventilation rates and rotational speeds of the matrix wheel. A correlation equation for air leakage is obtained by combining the pressure leakage and the carryover leakage. The pressure leakage is observed to be a function of ventilation airflow rate only, and the carryover leakage is found to be a linear function of rotational speed. The real efficiency of the heat exchanger can be obtained from its apparent efficiencies by taking into account the air leakage ratio. As the ventilation rate increases, the heat recovery efficiency decreases. As the rotational speed of the matrix increases, the efficiency increases initially but reaches a constant value for the rotational speeds over 10 rpm.

나선형그루브-금망의 복합윅을 갖는 히이트파이프의 전열특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Heat Transfer in Heat Pipe with Composition Wick of Screwed Groove - Metallic Mesh)

  • The purpose of this research was to study the characteristics of heat transfer in Heat Pipe which used the composition wick of screened groove - metallic mesh by ADI method and experimental results. As the results, the more than number of metallic mesh screen layers in a heat pipe increased, the fewer the effect of heat recovery decreased. In case of 1 - layer metallic mesh screen wick, the response of the effect in heat recovery was more rapidly showed than in case of other layers and in spite of high load, the evaporation section of Heat pipe with 1 - layer metallic mesh screen wick showed the stable response and did not show excessive super heat. There was a interrelation between thermal resistance and the variable layers, between thermal resistance and the variable gaps of metallic meshes, the heat transfer characteristics of Heat pipe were depended on the thermal resistance of composition wick.
