  • Reducing handoff latency is essential in providing seamless multimedia service in Wireless LAN based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Reducing authentication delay is critical in reducing handoff latency. To this end, several authentication protocols for fBst handoff have been proposed. Mishra et al. used proactive key distribution to improve the authentication delay incurred in the current standard and Park et al. proposed a new authentication protocol based on Blom's key pre-distribution scheme. In this paper, we propose an enhanced authentication protocol based on Bresson et al.'s group key protocol. If a mobile node has previously access the network, our proposed protocol only requires simple hash operations in providing mutual authentication between a mobile node and access points. Our protocol is more efficient than Park et al.'s and Mishra et al.'s technique can be used in our protocol to further enhance our protocol.

  • Recently, Chein et al proposed the ultralightweight strong authentication and strong integrity (SASI)protocol, where the tag requrires only simple bitwise operations. Since the tag does not support random number generator to generate a challenge nonce, an attacker can replay old messages and impersonate reader. However, all of the previous ultralightweight authentication schemes are vlunerable to various attacks: de-synk, eavesdropping, impersonating, tracking, DoS, disclosure etc. we analyze the problems of previous proposed ultrlightweight protocols, to overcome these security problems by using PRNG on the tag. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new lightweight RFID mutual authentication protocol that provides random number generator and bitwise operations, a security and an efficiency of the proposed schme analyze.

  • As the world-wide use of the Internet increases rapidly due to development of computer network the Electronic Commerce for business by treating it is growing as compared to the traditional one for the information exchange in the academic and research areas. The Electronic Payment System used for EC includes the Payment Broker System and the Electronic Purse System. And usually Electronic Purse System operates with IC cards. Saving the money in IC card has a high portability and security. Therefore, the Electronic purse System based on IC card is recently issued in the EC. In this paper, we design and implement of a IC card security system for Common Electronic Purse Specifications in Internet. CEPS is a Electronic Purse System proposed VISA, and conform EMV(Europay Mastercard VISA) security structure. With our system, users easily use Electronic Purse System with only Web browser and IC card. Original EMV paid no regard to using in the Internet. But our system, conforming to CEPS and EMV, is easily used in the Internet.

  • Design of Sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) should be considered some properties as electricity consumption, transmission speed, range, etc., and also be needed the protection against various attacks (e.g., eavesdropping, hacking, leakage of customer's secret data, and denial of services). The stream cipher Rabbit, selected for the final eSTREAM portfolio organized by EU ECRYPT and selected as algorithm in part of ISO/IEC 18033-4 Stream Ciphers on ISO Security Standardization recently, is a high speed stream cipher suitable for WSN. Since the stream cipher Rabbit was evaluated the complexity of side-channel analysis attack as 'Medium' in a theoretical approach, thus the method of power analysis attack to the stream cipher Rabbit and the verification of our method by practical experiments were described in this paper. We implemented the stream cipher Rabbit without countermeasures of power analysis attack on IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee board with 8-bit RISC AVR microprocessor ATmega128L chip, and performed the experiments of power analysis based on difference of means and template using a Hamming weight model.

  • Recently many mutual authentication protocol for light-weight hash-based for RFID have been proposed. Most of them have assumed that communications between a backend server and reader are secure, and not considered threats for backend server and RFID reader impersonation. In the real world, however, attacks against database or reader are more effective rather than attacks against RFID tag, at least from attacker's perspective. In this paper, we assume that all communications are not secure to attackers except the physical attack, and considering realistic threats for designing a mutual authentication protocol based on hash function. And It supports a mutual authentication and can protect against the replay attack, impersonation attack, location tracking attack, and denial of service attack in the related work. We besides provide a secure and efficient RFID mutual authentication protocol which resists impersonation attacks on all of the entities and alow a backend server to search tag-related information efficiently. We conclude with analyzing the safety and efficiency among latest works.

  • When downloading files using an app or web-based application on the user's mobile phone, the path is set to be saved in the pre-defined default directory. Many applications requiring access to storage, including file managers, require a write or read permission of storage to provide numerous functions and services. This means that the application will have direct access to the download folder where the numerous files downloaded. In this paper, to prove our feasibility of attack using the security vulnerabilities mentioned above, we developed a file hacking function disguised as an encryption function in the file management application. The file that encrypted will be sent to hackers via E-mail simultaneously on the background. The developed application was evaluated from VirusTotal, a malicious analysis engine, was not detected as a malicious application in all 74 engines. Finally, in this paper, we propose a defense technique and an algorithm based on the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to supplement these storage vulnerabilities.

  • Hospitals store and manage personal and health information through the electronic medical record (EMR). However, vulnerabilities and threats are increasing with the provision of various services for information sharing in hospitals. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a model to prevent personal information leakage due to the transmission of patient information in EMR. A method for granting permission to securely receive and transmit patient information from hospitals where patient medical records are stored is proposed using OAuth authorization tokens. A protocol was proposed to enable secure information delivery by applying and delivering the record access restrictions desired by the patient to the OAuth Token. OAuth Delegation Token can be delivered by writing the authority, scope, and time of destruction to view patient information. This prevents the illegal collection of patient information and prevents the leakage of personal information that may occur during the delivery process.

  • The giant information exchange enabled by the Internet of Things paradigm will likely exploit electrical lines as a ready-to-use infrastructure. The advantage of using the pre-installed infrastructure of wiring networks makes power line communication a competitive technology for broad-band communications. Therefore, there has been a growing interest towards the use of existing power line communication channels as an effective means for transmitting high speed data and Internet service. One of the main noise types affecting power line communication systems is the impulsive noise, and the focus of this work is on the impact of this impulsive noise on the performance of OFDM-QPSK systems. For the performance analysis of impulsive noise, data measured in three environments were used. Through the analysis, it is shown that OFDM-QPSK system outperforms QPSK system for most of the impulsive noise cases. Also, RS-coded OFDM-QPSK system can achieve good BER performance under 3 cases impulsive noise environment.

  • This study suggested a method of utilizing METS based on DDI metadata to manage, preserve, and service datasets. DDI is a standard for statistical data processing, and there are currently two versions of DDI Codebook (DDI-C) and DDI Lifecycle (DDI-L). In this study, the main elements of DDI-C were mainly used. First the structures and elements of METS and DDI-C were first analyzed. And the mapping of the major elements of METS and DDI-C. The standard was finally taken as METS, the format to express it. Since METS and DDI-C do not show a perfect 1:1 mapping, the DDI-C element that best matches each element of the standard METS was selected. As a result, a new dataset management transmission standard METS using DDI-C metadata elements was designed and presented.

  • In ultra dense networks (UDNs), macro user equipments (MUEs) have significant interference from small-cell access points (SAPs) since a number of SAPs are deployed in the coverage of macro base stations of 5G mobile communication systems. In this paper, we propose a dynamic channel assignment scheme to increase the performance of MUEs for the uplink of UDNs even though the number of SAPs is increased. The target of the proposed dynamic channel assignment scheme is that the signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) of MUEs is above a given SINR threshold assigning different subchannels to SUEs from those of MUEs. Simulation results show that the proposed dynamic channel assignment scheme outperforms others in terms of the mean MUE capacity even though the mean SUE capacity is decreased a little lower.
