Delay-Aware Packet Scheduling (DAPS) Algorithm in 3GPP LTE System (LTE 시스템에서 지연에 대한 QoS 보장을 위한 하향링크 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘)

  • In wireless mobile environments, large bandwidth and high QoS (Quality of Service) are recently required to support the increased demands for multimedia services. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is one of the promising solutions for the next generation broadband wireless access systems. To efficiently use downlink resource and effectively support QoS, packet scheduling algorithm is one of the important features in LTE system. In this paper, we proposed DAPS (Delay-Aware Packet Scheduling) algorithm to consider QoS requirements of delays for various traffic classes as well as channel condition and fairness. To reflect delay experiences at scheduling instance, DAPS observes how queue waiting time of packet is closed to maximum allowable delay. The simulation results show that the DAPS algorithm yields better performance for delay experience by increasing the number of transmitted packets with satisfying the required delay time compared with existing scheduling algorithms.

Resource Management Scheme for Improvement of Reliability and Connectivity in wireless USB System (무선 USB 시스템에서 신뢰성과 연결성 향상을 위한 자원 관리 기법)

  • In this paper, a resource management scheme for enhancing the network connectivity and reliability in wireless USB system is proposed. Wireless USB protocol is suitable for the application that supports the real-time multimedia service in Ship Area Network since it supports high speed data transfer. However, the device's mobility is caused the dramatic change of link state and network topology, and is occurred the degradation of network performance. Therefore, a resource management scheme for wireless USB system is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique can intelligently treat the change of link state, and solve the degradation of network performance. The simulation results show that proposed protocol can enhance the throughput and delay performance by selecting relay device with better link state.

  • This paper presents cluster based hybrid spectrum sensing system for M2M services. For each cluster, secondary nodes within the transmission radius of the primary node use hard decision method through local spectrum sensing to determine whether the primary node exists. And the other secondary nodes and the secondary nodes having poor radio channel conditions judge the existence of the primary node through the soft decision method of the values obtained by performing the cooperative spectrum sensing. In the proposed hybrid spectrum sensing system, the performance according to the number of secondary nodes is analyzed with the conventional system over Rayleigh fading channel. As the number of cooperative sensing users increased to 2, 3 and 4, the cluster error probability decreased to 0.5608, 0.5252 and 0.4001 at SNR of -10[dB] respectively. Since the proposed system uses less overhead traffic, it is found that it is more effective in terms of frequency usage than the conventional system using soft decision-soft decision and soft decision-hard decision methods.

  • Recently, As the managing techniques of consuming method and transmission for the sharply increasing multimedia contents has been developed regardless of compatibility by each company, It is a serious obstacle to the development of the organized copyright techniques because nothing can be shared by each other. The MPEG committee under ISO established MPEG-21 framework for it and proposed the REL as the words taking care of copyright and standardized them. However, there seemed to be some problems that special knowledge such as Schema defining the structures of XML and REL should be necessary. Furthermore, There can be some obscurity when the authority of REL document and one of consumer side is different. Therefore, in this paper, we laid out and realized the copyright including consuming system to copyright and prove the REL documents more conveniently and RDD integration system using Web Services technology which can get rid of the vagueness of REL.

  • TMN(Telecommunication Management Network) provides underlying structure to transfer, store and processing management information which are necessary for Telecommunication network and service management. The application of TMN is widely applicable to Analogue telecommunication network Public and private network switching system, Transmission system, Telecommunication related software and logical telecommunication network resource management and others. This paper consider TMN as one System Under Test(SW), and propose a new TMN test architecture, besides existing simulation based test method, which is able to test, on the basis of standardized testing procedure and testing method, directly with test system. There are several fields in protocol testing and one of them is protocol conformance testing which is defined in ISO/IEC 9646 series and it has twin document as ITU X.290 series. To apply this standardized procedure on TMN testing it is prerequisite to devise a new TMN testing architecture and set up testing procedures according to the new architecture.

  • ATM PON system is regarded as a solution of the next generation access network because it can cover various types of subscribers in a single platform. In this paper, we describe the merit of the ATM PON and the key protocols for its operation. Above all, the ranging is the most important protocol providing a mean of the time-division multiple access in the system. A problem in the protocol is that the window size, the time interval that ranging cell arrives, is too long. During the interval, user traffics cannot be send to the upstream, which makes the quality of service degraded. In this paper, we suggest a method to minimize the window size when the length of the optic fiber is known with some deviation. The window size can be reduced as 7 % of the conventional method when the deviation of the length is 1 Km.

  • Internal cities such as gray level been enclosed to building forest are paying a lot of efforts and expenses to change to green city that park and street tree get put together. By the example, 'GREEN CITY of PUSAN 21' progress to decorate army facilities like the park, and to plant street trees in several places of city plan in Pusan. And urban environment that big cities of advanced nation are agreeable is making in the large park and road street trees at several places in downtown. Because price of tree for the park is very expensive, tree management system was all-important. In this paper, Motes deliver the sensor information in each tree through radio sensor network by server side. This information can use in state grasping of tree, harmful insects courtesy call etc and this system design was suggested to inform to mode of life administration scholars.

A QoS Improvement Scheme for Real-time Traffic using IPv6 Flow Labels (IPv6 플로우 레이블을 이용한 실시간 트래픽의 QoS개선 방안)

  • The flow label field in IPv6 has been proposed to provide the QoS. Since the existing flow label specification scheme like random-number format utilizes the label only as the identifier of flow, it is not appropriate for providing differentiated services according to the characteristics of various types of real-time traffic. This paper proposes a hybrid scheme that makes use of the flow label fields as components of flow and QoS parameters as well. To be specific, this paper investigates a scheme that both guarantees the end-to-end service quality and utilizes efficiently backbone resources by allowing users to specify QoS parameters using flow labels. Assuming an MLPS-TE network as the backbone, we compare the performance of our proposed scheme with that of random-number scheme through simulation. The simulation result shows that our scheme is more efficient than the existing one in terms of the transmission rate as well as the resource utilization of the backbone.

  • In this paper, we propose ATM switch structure including AAL type 2 switch which can efficiently transmit low-bit rate data, even if the network has many endpoints. We simulate the architecture of ATM switch fabric that is modeled in computer program and analyze the performance according to offered loads. ATM switch proposed in this paper can support cell switching for all types of AAL cells which consist of AAL type 1, AAL type 2, AAL type 3/4, and AAL type 5 cells. We propose two switch fabric methods; One supports the AAL type 2 cell processing per input port, the other global AAL type 2 cell processing for every input port. The simulation results show that the latter is superior to the former. But the former has a merit for easy implementation and extensibility. The proposed ATM switch fabric is widely applicable to mobile communication, narrow band services over ATM network and wireless ATM as well as general ATM switching fabric.

  • MANET(Mobile Ad hoc networks) is a mobile, multi-hop, and wireless network which is bandwidth constrained, energy constrained, resource constrained, autonomous, and self operating systems with dynamic topology. These constraints make the routing between communicating nodes in ad hoc networks difficult. In this paper we survey several routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. Especially, we focus on Zone Routing Protocol, hybrid routing framework suitable for a wide of mobile ad hoc networks and analyze performance of ZRP. In the case of ZRP protocol, it is essential that the use of optimal zone radius for efficient use. Otherwise it was proved through an simulation that performance of whole network is rapidly decrease with greatly increasing overhead of ZRP traffic that need for transmission of packet by IARP or IERP traffic. Also we suggest the process of finding QoS path that use in-band signal for QoS routing in ad hoc network. This method guarantees route that make real time multimedia service for QoS enabled path.
