The purpose of this study was to analyze and present the achievements and challenges of the 70th year of the Korean Federation of Teachers' Association (KFTA). The KFTA was founded in 1947 as the Chosun Education Association, and it was the 70th anniversary of its founding in 2017. Throughout its 70?year history, the KFTA, which has emphasized and promoted expertise and professionalism, has continued to improve the professionalism of the teaching profession through research, improve the socio?economic status of teachers, and expand the welfare system in order to improve the quality of teaching and teaching environment. In addition, the KFTA contributed to the development of national education by participating in educational policies to improve education system and educational environment, as well as activities as a professional organization, and has promoted international status through the promotion of international exchange. After analyzing the academic literature and KFTA related data diachronically, this research suggested achievements and challenges as three aspects: the status as teachers' professional organizations, the activities as interests and pressure groups, and the activities as professional organizations.

This study was aimed to establish the self-concept as the dental profession and dedicate to the development of dental hygienist role by understanding the relation between the self-concept of dental hygienist and practice performance as dental hygienist. Following the thorough investigation of this correlation, the importance of self-concept as the dental profession was confirmed, and the understanding about the practice performance as dental hygienist was renewed. Dental hygienist working in dental clinic located in Jeonju city, Jeollabuk-Do were selected as the subjects of this study, and the materials were collected from Mar. 11 to Mar. 25, 2002 for 15 days. SPSS was used for analysis of data to deal with ANOVA and verification of Pearson correlation. The results of this research can be summarized as follows; 1. In comparison of the degree of professional self-concept according to the general characteristics of the subjects, there were significant differences in religion(p<.05) and educational background(p<.01). 2. In comparison of the degree of practice performance according to the general characteristics of the subjects, the results showed the significant difference in religion(p<.05). 3. There were highly significant correlation between the professional self-concept and practice performance as dental hygienist(F=.663, p<.001).

본 연구는 한국 여성사서들의 전반적인 직업실태 및 직업관을 조사 분석함으로 여성사서들이 향후 한국 사서직의 전문성 제고에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색해 봄에 그 목적을 두었다. 조사 대상은 전국의 공공, 대학, 전문도서관의 정사서자격증을 소지한 여성사서들이며 자기보고식 질문지를 통하여 자료를 수집, SPSS통계 팩케지에 의해 처리하였다. 여성사서들의 인구학적 특성 (연령별 분포; 결혼여부; 교육수준), 직업적 특성(관종별 분포; 직위; 재직연한; 업무지속성;전문직적 활동), 직업에 대한 태도(결혼후의 계속근무의사; 직업계속동기; 성차별요인; 직업만족도) 등이 분석되었으며 결론을 통하여 한국사서직의 전문성제고와 발전을 위한 구체적인 방안이 제안되었다. (본 연구는 연구자의 박사학위논문(1991) 내용의 일부를 발췌한 것으로 통계수치는 기존의 연구결과에 ‘한국도서관총계’(한국도서관협회, 1993)상의 수치를 반영한 것임.)

본 논문에서는 우리 나라 학교환경교육의 발전 과정을 태동기(1980년 이전), 성립기(1981-1991년), 정착기(1992년 이후)로 구분하여 간략히 개관한 다음, 전국 수준의 초.중등학교 학생, 교사, 교육전문직을 대상으로 한 환경교육에 관한 의식과 요구 사항 등에 대한 조사 연구 결과 및 이를 바탕으로 한 환경과 담당 교사의 현직연수와 양성교육에 관한 정책 대안을 제시하였다. 또, 1993년 이후 우리 나라에서 이루어지고 있는 환경교육을 위한 교사교육의 변화 및 발전 현황을 다음과 같이 요약하였다. 첫째, 중등학교의 교사자격증 표시과목으로 '환경'과가 1994년부터 추가됨으로써 현직교사 연수 및 교사양성대학에 환경교육과의 설치가 제도적으로 가능해졌다. 둘째, 제6차 교육과정(1995년부터 적용)에 신설된 중학교 환경 및 고등학교 환경화학 담당 교사 확보를 위한 자격연수(총 180시간)가 1994년 여름방학부터 시작되었으며, 이를 통하여 1996연말까지 환경과 부전공 자격 소지자를 680명 배출하게 되었다. 셋째, 중등학교에서 환경과를 담당할 교사를 양성하기 위한 환경교육과가 전국 3개 대학(한국교원대학교, 공주대학교, 순천대학교)에 설치되었다. 넷째, 1995년부터 전국의 각급 학교에 환경주임교사를 배치하여 학생의 체험적 환경교육을 유동하고, 일반교사에게 환경교육의 중요성을 전파하는 역할을 담당하게 하고 있다. 다섯째, 환경과 부전공 제도가 1996년부터 시작되었다. 대학재학 중에 전공과목에 대하여는 42학점 이상, 환경교육 관련 과목을 21학점 이상 이수한 학생은 환경과 부전공 교사 자격증을 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 여섯째, 교사의 자생단체로 지역별 '환경교사연구회'가 구성되어 환경교육 자체연수, 교재개발과 보급, 환경캠프와 답사 등의 활동을 전개하고 있다. 끝으로 환경교육을 위한 교사교육에서 계속 노력해야 할 사항을 제시하였다.

The new millennium with mystifying convergence of IT has opened new challenges to LIS profession. This has resulted to continuous skill development and lifelong learning, for capacity building in consonant with contemporary changes. The LIS profession in India has created several mechanisms to organize and conduct several skills development programmes through which professionals are continuously enabled to update their professional knowledge and skills, in practice and teaching. There is a good organizational infrastructure and identified areas related to the recent developmental trends and as such LIS professionals and educators have facilities for updating their knowledge at veritable levels and intervals. The paper has surveyed programmes conducted by different organizations at different levels and highlights the aspects of the organizational infrastructure and the emergent areas of applications in LIS teaching, research and professional practices in India. The selection of areas and subjects for various skill development programmes suggest the competencies acquired by the LIS professionals from India, and the empowerment of their professional knowledge can be of immense value to its neighbouring countries. The paper highlights the knowledge and competencies of the LIS professionals in India and the broad-based facilities available here which can be a model for those countries which are seeking to utilize the LIS human resources from this part of the sub-continent. The paper in this circumstance surveyed on the institutional infrastructure for skill developmental opportunities available in India which would meet such requirements within and to the countries outside in the South Asian region seeking its collaboration in such manpower development work.

This study used content analysis to examine the research methods in Library and Information Science journals from 1997 to 2001. Analyses measured research subjects, research method, data collection methods, data analysis methods, hypotheses, theories and research funds. Brief consideration is given to possible future methodological trends : web-based research methods, qualitative research, cooperation between academic society and librarians and research fundraising.

This study was conducted for the purpose of suggesting ways to improve KMLA's support programs to strengthen the capabilities of domestic medical librarians. To this end, after investigating the roles of professional associations, common roles were extracted and categorized into five areas, and then the support programs of MLA and KMLA were compared and analyzed. As a result, six suggestions can be made as ways to improve KMLA's support program. First, policy development is needed to officially and continuously support medical librarians. Second, in the area of (continued) education and training programs, educational support in professional areas required in the medical field is needed, as well as education for the role of the IRB committee. Third, in terms of research and publication support, various support for research funds and training programs is required. Fourth, in terms of network and cooperation support, mentoring, leadership, and fellowship programs are needed, and improvements to domestic and international partnerships and support for various awards should also be planned. Fifth, in terms of professional certification and various certificate systems, it is necessary to provide support for obtaining degrees in related fields and to issue certificates through support for various courses. Sixth, KMLA's active internal and external promotion and activities should be carried out to attract donations.

To assess and understand the level of job burnout among the medical librarians and identify the factors affecting it, email survey, consisting of questions regarding personal background, organization characteristics, degree of burnout, and coping activities, was administered for two weeks in December 2016, to the librarians in 138 institutions affiliated with the Korean Medical Library Association. MBI-GS is used as a burnout measuring instrument. Data collected from 158 librarians (response rate 65.6%), were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation analysis methods. According to MB-GS norm, respondents experience moderate level of exhaustion and professional efficacy, however the level of cynicism is extremely high. There are significant statistical differences in burnout, depending on age, medical librarian certificate, work experience, type of library, job coverage, and coping activities. There are also statistical significant correlations between workload, role conflict, decision making process and performance evaluation, organization communication, IT environment, continuing education and burnout. Based on the results, recommendations to alleviate burnout are suggested in individual, organizational, and professional association context.

It is important to plan and operate various training programs at the national level to develop librarians' job performance expertise and future-oriented capabilities. The purpose of this study was to examine the possibility of introducing a librarian learning community as an training program at a professional education and training institution and to suggest an appropriate operation method. To this end, research was conducted using the following contents and methods: 1) theoretical discussion on program operation such as the concept, operation stages, and types of a librarian learning community through a review of related literature; 2) exploring the possibility of operating a librarian learning community through pilot operation and derivation of implications, 3) proposal of a librarian learning community operation model. This study reviewed the librarian learning community operating model through participant observation and participant opinion collection during the pilot operation process to minimize confusion in the early stages of implementation, and also presented an operational roadmap and support system for the successful establishment of the program in the future. There is a need to further develop the librarian learning community operating model presented in this study through implementation and empirical analysis over the next several years. However, the results of this study will also be useful as an initial operating model for a learning community for professional education and training in other fields.

To measure the degree of work stress and identify factors influencing the stress among OR nurses, a study was implemented for 131 OR nurses working at four university hospitals in Taegu city through self administered questionnaires. Mean score of total work stress of nurses was 3.71, when maximum score was 5. Relatively high degrees of work stress was evident among OR nurses. When the related factors of the stress specified in the questionnaire were grouped into 11 categories, the respondents turned out to feel the highest stress when they were faced with the categories of non-peculiar duty and personal conflict with doctors. The most stressful events were nursing malpractice during surgical operations and damage to OR equipments. The nurses more susceptible to workstress were married with one child, less educated and worked at OR for 3 to 6 years.
