A Study on the Shear Properties of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams (강섬유보강(鋼纖維補强)콘크리트 Deep Beam의 전단특성(剪斷特性)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Four series of fiber reinforced concrete deep beams without shear reinforcement were tested to determine their cracking shear strengths and ultimate shear capacities. Results of tests on 20 reinforced concrete deep beams (including 16 containing steel fibers) are reported. Three parameters were varied in the study, namely, the concrete compressive strength, volume fraction of fibers, and the shear span to depth ratio. The effects of fiber incorporation on failure modes, deflections. strains, cracking shear strength, and ultimate shear strength have been examined. Resistance to shear stresses have been found to be improved by the inclusion of fibers. Based on these investigations, a method of computing the shear stress of steel fiber reinforced concrete deep beam is suggested. The comparisons between computed values and experimentally observed values are shown to validate the proposed theoretical treatment.

Evaluation of Shear Capacity of Wide Beam Reinforced with Shear Plates with Openings (유공형 판으로 전단보강된 넓은 보의 전단거동 평가)

  • In this paper, shear behavior of concrete wide beam reinforced with plates with openings was evaluated. For this evaluation, evelen specimens were manufactured. One specimen was non-shear reinforced, five specimens were reinforced with steel plates and the other five specimens were reinforced GFRP plates. Shear strengths measured through experiments were compared with ones calculated from the equation provided by ACI 318. Longitudinal spacing of shear reinforcement, transverse spacing of shear reinforcement and shear reinforcement material were considered as variables. Test results showed that the shear strength increased as the transverse and longitudinal spacing of shear reinforcement became narrow. Also, regardless of material type of shear reinforcement, the shear capacity was similar when the amount of shear reinforcement was the same.

  • 하천시설물 설계, 시공 및 관리에 있어서 바닥전단응력은 매우 중요하다. 예를 들어, 호안 등 시설물의 허용 소류력을 계산하거나, 하천의 유사량을 예측하는 데 있어서 바닥전단응력이 기준으로 쓰인다. 정상 등류의 경우, 수로 내 수체에 작용하는 중력과 수로 바닥 및 측면에 작용하는 마찰력의 평형을 고려함으로써 바닥전단응력을 산정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 식생을 제외한 아크릴수로에서의 전단판의 움직임을 이용한 바닥전단응력 측정장치를 설계, 교정 및 검증을 실시하였다. 이 전단판은 수체와 바닥면에서 발생하는 마찰력에 의해 변위가 발생하고 이 변위를 바닥전단 응력으로 산정하였다. 직접 측정한 바닥전단응력은 기존에 연구된 두 가지 방법과 비교하여 검증하였다. 비교 검증을 위한 실험은 폭 0.3 m, 길이 10 m인 고속수로에서 Froude수 1이상, Reynolds수 20000이상의 사류이면서 난류인 상태로 실험을 진행하였으며 유속은 PIV을 이용하여 측정하였다. 비교 검증을 위한 첫 번째방법은 Reach-avrage공식을 기초로 manning의 평균 유속 공식을 이용한 바닥전단응력을 산정하는 방법으로 일반적으로 간단한 경험식을 이용하여 바닥 전단응력을 산정하는 방법이다, 두 번째는 Reynolds stress를 산정하는 방법으로 PIV를 통해 흐름방향의 연직프로파일의 유속을 측정 한 후 레이놀즈 분해법에 의해 산정된 난류 강도를 측정하여 Reynolds stress를 산정한 후 Shear stress를 산정하는 방법을 사용하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서 가로 0.14 m, 세로 0.14 m의 전단판으로 구성된 바닥전단응력 측정장치를 개발하여 실험을 진행하면서 앞에서 언급한 두가지 방법을 측정하는 동시에 장치를 이용하여 바닥전단응력을 직접측정하여 총 3가지 바닥전단응력을 비교하였다.

Measuring limits of speckle shearing interferometer by double speckle interferometry (이중 스펙클 간섭계를 이용한 전단간섭계의 변형 측정 한계 측정)

  • In this paper, we used a split-lens speckle shear interferometer using a double speckle interferometer, which enables continuous measurement of the deformation. We made two identical specklegrams corresponding to an object. With this method we could detect the measuring limits of the deformation for various shears. This experimental results showed that the measuring limits of a split-lens speckle shear interferometer are similar to the measuring limits of a double exposure speckle interferometer.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the horizontal shear strength on the interface between PC and cast-in-place concrete for PC composite beams. Six specimens were tested to examine the structural performance of the horizontal interface with different surface condition and stirrup detailing. Except for SF-291B specimen failed in flexural compression, strengths and deformation capacities of five specimens were determined by horizontal shear failure. Horizontal shear strengths by composite horizontal shear or shear friction in current codes could be used to predict the horizontal shear capacity of the interface for specimens. Also detailing for stirrup by PCI design provision could be used to accomplish the composite action in the interface.

Characteristics of Lateral Flow due to Embankments for Road Construction on Soft Grounds Using Vertical Drain Methods (연직배수공법이 적용된 연약지반 상에 도로성토로 인한 측방유동의 특성)

  • Field monitoring data for embankments in thirteen road construction sites at coastal area of the Korean Peninsula were analyzed to investigate the characteristics of lateral flow in soft grounds, to which vertical drain methods were applied. First of all, the effect of the embankment scale on the lateral flow was investigated. Thicker soft soils and lager relative embankment scale produced more horizontal displacements in soft grounds. Especially, if thick soft grounds were placed, the relative embankment scale, which was given by the ratio of thickness of soft ground to the bottom width of embankments, became larger and in turn large horizontal displacement was produced. And also higher filling velocity of embankments induced more horizontal displacements in soft grounds. The other major factors affecting the lateral flow in soft ground were the thickness and undrained shear strength of soft grounds, the soil modulus and the stability number. Maximum horizontal displacement was induced by less undrained shear strength and soil modulus of soft grounds. Also more stability numbers produced more maximum horizontal displacements. When the shear deformation does not develop, the stability number was less than 3.0 and the safety factor of bearing was more than 1.7. However, if the stability number was more than 5.14 and the safety factor of bearing was less than 1.0, the unstable shear failure developed in soft ground. 50mm can be recommended as a criterion of the allowable maximum horizontal displacement to prevent the shear deformation in soft ground, while 100mm can be recommended as a criterion of the allowable maximum horizontal displacement to prevent the shear failure in soft ground.

  • 저밀도 폐놀계 탄소/탄소 복합재의 층간전단강도를 개선하기 위해 흑연분말, 카본블랙, 카본매트, 단섬유 등의 첨가제를 사용하였다. 카본매트와 단섬유를 첨가한 경우, 수지의 부족에 의한 층간접착력의 약화를 가져왔으며, 카본블랙을 첨가한 경우에도 큰 효과를 나타내지 못했다. 흑연을 첨가했을 때 약 30%의 층간강도 개선을 가져왔으며 특히 9 vol.%의 첨가량에 대해서 가장 큰 효과를 보였다.

  • 유리섬유와 에폭시 수지와의 계면전단강도에 미치는 수분흡수, 섬유직경 및 섬유의표면상태 등의 영향을 검토하기 위해서 two fiber fragmentation 시험법을 사용하였다. 그리고 유리섬유/에폭시 수지의 일방향 복합재료에서 수분흡수가 복합재료의 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 검토하였다. 그 결과, two fiber fragmentation시험에서 계면전단강도는 수분흡수량 및 섬유직경이 클수록 작게 나타났으며, sizing한 것이 desizing한 것보다 크게 나타났다. 또 수분흡습에 의해 감소되었던 계면전단강도는 건조에 의해서 처음의 값의 약 50-60%까지 회복됨을 나타내었다. 그리고 일방향 복합재료의 인장강도는 수분흡수량이 증가함에 따라 현저히 감소함을 보였다.

  • In this paper, shear performance of concrete wide beams was evaluated through shear failure tests. The specimens were designed to have two continuous spans with a column at the center of the wide beam. Also the specimens were reinforced with plates with openings as shear reinforcements. For the test, total eight specimens, including five specimens were reinforced with steel plates and the other three specimens were reinforced with GFRP plates were manufactured. And the shear strengths obtained from the tests were compared with ones from the equation provided by ACI 318. Support width of wide beam, support section of wide beam and shear reinforcement material were considered as variables. The results showed that the support width was proportional to the increase of shear strength. Also, regardless of material type of shear reinforcement, the shear reinforcing effect was similar when the amount of shear reinforcement was the same.
