However, the bed-and-breakfast accommodation in rural areas lack safety standards or safety indicators for the service pension Gangneung, carbon monoxide leak accident in December 2018, 2020 East Sea in January, Pension. Large gas explosion, accident and is threatening the security of their citizens. Unlike lodging facilities, private lodging in farming and fishing villages is allowed to operate with certain requirements such as fire extinguishers and fire alarms. The purpose of this study is to present safety standards and safety indicators for lodging facilities in farming and fishing villages, which are necessary for the operation management and inspection of local governments and the government related to lodging in farming and fishing villages. Through the study, safety management areas of private lodging in farming and fishing villages were divided into facility safety, fire safety, food safety and living safety, and detailed inspection indicators were presented. There is an academic implication that research on safety management of lodging facilities has been expanded through safety research in areas related to private lodging in farming and fishing villages. It has practical implications in that it provides management standards and indicators that can be used for safety management of private lodging in farming and fishing villages. The limitations of this study are that more studies on private lodging in farming and fishing villages are expected to be conducted through the results of this study, and the lack of research on accommodation safety has prevented more detailed indicators from being derived.

  • Recently, with the development of the 4th Industrial Revolution era and the popularization of technologies the maker movement is spreading worldwide in various ways for education, entrepreneurship, and solving social problems. This paper introduces a case of establishing and operating a maker space in Tanzania, East Africa, one of the developing countries. iTEC Tech-shop was established in the first half of 2018 at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania by Innovative Technology and Energy Center (iTEC), and has been operating for nearly two years. With the allocation of empty warehouse space from NM-AIST, physical facilities were established through the purchase and installation of equipment and hand tools. Based on the advice from Idea Factory of Seoul National University and Fab-Lab Seoul, iTEC Tech-shop operational system were established. Through a total of 7 technical workshops, iTEC Tech-shop provided training courses for about 180 local personnel. In addition, the smart Techshop test-bed project was promoted in order to improve the operation level along with securing sustainability of the Techshop. The case of the iTEC Tech-shop could be a useful case for institutions or organizations promoting the maker movement to developing countries.

  • The use of lithium-ion batteries increases significantly with the rapid spread of electronic devices and electric vehicle and thereby an increase in the amount of waste batteries is expected in the near future. Therefore, studies are continuously being conducted to recover various resources of cathode active material (Ni, Co, Mn, Li) from waste battery. In order to recover the cathode active material, black mass is generally recovered from waste battery. The general process of recovering black mass is a waste battery collection - discharge - dismantling - crushing - classification process. This study focus on the crushing/classification process among the processes. Specifically, the particle size distribution of various samples at each crushing/classification step were evaluated, and the particle shape of each particle fraction was analyzed with a microscope and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy)-EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectrometer). As a result, among the black mass particle, fine particle less than 74 ㎛ was the mixture of cathode and anode active material which are properly liberated from the current metals. However, coarse particle larger than 100 ㎛ was present in a form in which the current metal and active material were combined. In addition, this study developed a PBM(Population Balance Model) system that can simulate two-species mixture sample with two different crushing properties. Using developed model, the breakage parameters of two species was derived and predictive performance of breakage distribution was verified.

  • Over the last twenty years, farmers in Western Australia have begun to change land management practices to minimise the effects of salinity to agricultural land. A farm plan is often used as a guide to implement changes. Most plans are based on minimal data and an understanding of only surface water flow. Thus farm plans do not effectively address the processes that lead to land salinisation. A project at Broomehill in the south-west of Western Australia applied an approach using a large suite of geospatial data that measured surface and subsurface characteristics of the regolith. In addition, other data were acquired, such as information about the climate and the agricultural history. Fundamental to the approach was the collection of airborne geophysical data over the study area. This included radiometric data reflecting soils, magnetic data reflecting bedrock geology, and SALTMAP electromagnetic data reflecting regolith thickness and conductivity. When interpreted, these datasets added paddock-scale information of geology and hydrogeology to the other datasets, in order to make on-farm and in-paddock decisions relating directly to the mechanisms driving the salinising process. The location and design of surface-water management structures such as grade banks and seepage interceptor banks was significantly influenced by the information derived from the airborne geophysical data. To evaluate the effectiveness ofthis planning., one whole-farm plan has been monitored by the Department of Agriculture and the farmer since 1996. The implemented plan shows a positive cost-benefit ratio, and the farm is now in the top 5% of farms in its regional productivity benchmarking group. The main influence of the airborne geophysical data on the farm plan was on the location of earthworks and revegetation proposals. There had to be a hydrological or hydrogeological justification, based on the site-specific data, for any infrastructure proposal. This approach reduced the spatial density of proposed works compared to other farm plans not guided by site-specific hydrogeological information.

  • Microbial reduction, physicochemical property, and sensory evaluation of irradiated beef patty were investigated. The microbial counts of refrigerated beef patty were reduced to below the number of 3 logs after irradiation at 3 kGy. But no viable microorganism was detected in frozen beef patty irradiated at 3 kGy. Food additives such as nitrite, salt, phosphate and ascorbic acid did not affect on the inactivation of microorganism by irradiation. The irradiation effect on the water holding capacity was not significant, but frozen irradiated beef patty showed higher water holding capacity than refrigerated beef patty. The drip loss of irradiated beef patty did not show significant differences according to irradiation doses. Considering the influence of food additives, the irradiated beef patty mixed with salt and phosphate showed lower drip loss than that without food additives. In refrigerated beef patty, TBARS values were increased with increase of irradiation doses and showed lower values in the beef patty mixed with food additives than that without food additives. The redness of refrigerated beef patty showed highest values at 3 kGy of irradiation and then decreased with increasing irradiation doses, while in the frozen beef patty did not show distinct tendency according to the irradiation doses or food additives. In sensory evaluation. the irradiated beef patty showed unpleasant smell as compared with the non irradiated beef patty, but showed somewhat higher score in smell at the sample contained ascorbic acid regardless of irradiation doses.
