Removable or fixed space maintainer could be needed if one or some anterior primary teeth were missing, where resin pontics well-matched to natural primary teeth should be demanded to get an esthetic satisfaction. Resin Natural $Teeth^{TM}$(Nissin dental, Japan) is available currently in Korea, which consists of two shades of colors; type A1 and A2. The purpose of this study is to elucidate the colors of the anterior primary resin teeth and to establish the data to compare those with the natural anterior primary teeth. CIE $L^*a^*b^*s$ were measured each three times labially from 17 sets of maxillary four anterior teeth for type A1 and A2 Resin Natural $Teeth^{TM}$ using ShadeEye $NCC^{TM}$(Shofu, Japan) which is one of spectrophotometers. The data were analysed statistically using Kruskall-Wallis Test and Mann-Whitney U Test. The results were as follows : 1. There were smaller teeth color differences in group A1 than in group A2 when it comes to distributions of ${\Delta}E$, $L^*$ and $b^*$. There were no statistically significant differences of $a^*$ between teeth in the same group(P>0.05). 2. ${\Delta}E$ in group A1 and A2 (maximum ${\Delta}E{\le}1.23$) were very small, which could not be discerned by eyesight. ${\Delta}E$ between mean CIE $L^*a^*b^*s$ of group A1 and A2 was 3.97, which could be discernible by eyesight. 3. Mean measurements of group A1 were $L^*=73.8$, $a^*=-1.8$, $b^*=-4.7$, and those of group A2 were $L^*=75.8$, $a^*=-2.7$, $b^*=-1.4$. It would be recommended that resin teeth compatible to the colors of the natural primary ones needed to be developed by investigating in vivo study.

The objective of this study was to investigate the chemical components and quality characteristics of three waxy corn varieties (Heukjinju, Ilmi, and Yeonnong1) harvested by conventional cultivation (CC) and environmentally-friendly cultivation (EFC). Crude ash content of the three corn varieties was higher, but not significant, in CC than EFC. Crude fat and protein contents in Heukjinju were higher in EFC, and amylose content was significantly higher (p<0.001). Free sugar, minerals, and fatty acid composition patterns varied according to the cultivation method. Vitamin E contents in the Heukjinju and Yeonnong1 cultivars were higher in CC than EFC. Total polyphenol content of waxy corns on EFC and CC were 175.28 and 204.00 mg/100 g, respectively, in the Heukjinju cultivar (p<0.01), and 148.64 and 158.42 mg/100 g, respectively, in the Ilimi cultivar, and 123.24 and 128.30 mg/100 g, respectively, in the Yeonnong1 cultivar. 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity on EFC and CC was 1.51 and 1.76 in Heukjinju cultivar (p<0.05), 0.29 and 0.34 in Ilmi cultivar (p>0.05), and 0.39 and 0.42 mg trolox eq/g in Yeonnong1 cultivar (p>0.05), respectively. However, 2,2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate) radical scavenging activity was higher in CC than EFC.
It is crucial to develop a miniaturized cultivation method for large and rapid screening of high-yielding mutants of monacolin-K, a powerful anti-hypercholesterolemic secondary metabolite biosynthesized by the fungal cells of Monascus ruber. In order to investigate as many strains as possible in a short time, a miniaturized fermentation method especially suitable for the cultivation of the filamentous Monascus mutants was developed using $50m{\ell}$ culture-tube ($7m{\ell}$ of working volume) instead of the traditional $250m{\ell}$ flask ($50m{\ell}$ of working volume). Generally, in filamentous fungal cell fermentations, morphologies in growth and production cultures should be maintained as thick filamentous and compact-pelleted (usually less than 1 mm in diameter) forms, respectively, for enhanced production of secondary metabolites in final production cultures. In this study, we intended to induce the respective optimal morphologies in the miniaturized culture system for the purpose of rapid screening of overproducers. Miniaturized growth culture system was successfully developed due to the mass production of spores in the statistically optimized solid medium. When large amounts of spores were inoculated into the growth cultures, and brown rice flour (20 g/L) was also supplemented to the growth medium, dense filamentous morphologies were successfully induced in the growth cultures performed with the 50 ml culture tubes. It was implied that the amounts of spores inoculated into the growth tube-cultures and the growth medium components should be the key factors for the induction of the filamentous forms in the growth fermentations. Furthermore, in order to statistically optimize production medium, multiple experiments based on Plackett-Burman design and response surface method (RSM) were carried out, resulting in more than 2 fold enhanced production of monacolin-K in the final production cultures with the optimized production medium. Notably, under the production culture conditions with the statistically optimized medium, optimal pellet sizes below 1 mm in diameter were reproducibly induced, in contrast to the thick and viscous filamentous morphologies observed in the previous production cultures.

Currently, Ash-free clean coal producing process by solvent extraction is under development. The produced ash-free clean coal can be directly combusted in a gas turbine which results in substantial improvement of power generation efficiency. However, the clean coal produced by the solvent extraction still contain trace amount of alkali metal which may cause corrosion on turbine blades during the direct combustion. In present work ${\alpha},{\beta}$-metal (Zr and Ti) phosphates and H-Y zeolite were synthesized and their ion exchange characterizations were investigated for the application on alkali metal removal for clean coal production. $Na^+$ ion removal capacities of the metal phosphates and H-Y zeolite were measured and compared in both aqueous solution (100 ppmw, $Na^+$) and coal dissolved N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP, 12 ppmw $Na^+$) at elevated temperature. In aqueous solution, the ${\beta}$ form metal phosphates showed very high ion exchange capacities compared to ${\alpha}$ form. ${\beta}$ form metal phosphates also showed higher $Na^+$ removal capacities than H-Y zeolite. In ion exchange medium of NMP, all the ${\alpha}$ form metal phosphates showed over 90% of $Na^+$ ion removal efficiency in the temperature range of 200 to 400 while that of H-Y zeolite decreased as a half when the temperature was over 350. In addition, the regenerated metal phosphates by acid treatment showed no sign of degradation in $Na^+$ removal efficiency. Among the metal phosphates used, $Zr_{0.75}Ti_{0.25}(HPO_4)_2$ showed the best performance in $Na^+$ removal and is expected to be the most suitable inorganic ion exchanger for the alkali metal removal process.

To develop foods using dried persimmon, hot-water extracts of dried persimmons were added into strong wheat flour in the ratio of 10, 20, 30, and 40% and the quality characteristics of baked products were investigated. The proximate compositions of dried persimmons hot-water extracts were 70.37% of moisture, 1.72% of crude protein, 0.18% of crude lipids, 1.99% of crude ash and 4.37% of crude fiber, respectively. With increasing the addition of dried persimmons hot-water extracts, moisture content of the added breads was increased to 47.20% from 41.12% of non-added bread and water activity to 0.576 from 0.495. Water binding capacity of the added dried persimmons hot-water extracts rasied weight of the bread but decreased specific volume. In the hunter's color values the more dried persimmons hot-water extracts was added, the lower L vaules we, and the higher a and b values we. In the texture property, the addition of dried persimmons hot-water extracts increased hardness, gumminess and chewiness, while decreased adhesiveness and fracturability. Judging from texture, taste and overall acceptability of the product, recommended substitution level for hot-water extracts of dried persimmons in bread was 30% or less.

Wild grapes contain various organic acids, vitamins, and inorganic salts compared to other various fruits. Their anthocyanin compounds are also known to have excellent effects in preventing cancers and heart diseases. Wild grapes are supposed to be a superior material for wine fermentation. This study was performed for searching optimum conditions for producing wild grape wines to improve their quality and taste. Four wild strains were isolated from Muscat Bailey A, ‘Kyoho’ grapevine, and wild grapes. For wild grape wine production, an optimum initial sugar concentration was $24^{\circ}Brix$ and an optimum temperature was $24^{\circ}C$. Sensory characteristics of the wild grape wine were evaluated for incense, sour taste, astringency, and sweet taste. Quality properties of the wild grape wine produced under the optimized fermentation conditions were analyzed. Total sugar, polyphenol contents, and acidity of the wild grape wine were 50.00 mg/mL, 25.30 mg/mL, and 0.95%, showing higher value than those of commercial grape wines. Amino acids, tannins, alcohol contents, and pH were 1.80 mg/mL, 1.88 mg/mL, 12%, and 3.59, respectively. The optimum fermentation conditions can be used to improve quality of the wild grape wine.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of reading and discussion activities on children's self-esteem in a social welfare center called 'Gongbubang.' A reading/discussion program was constructed to serve the purpose of the study and suit the selected children by referring to earlier studies that found reading programs were effective at boosting the self-esteem of elementary schoolers. The subjects in this study were 21 children in 'HaedamGongbubang', a general social welfare center located in an urban region in South Gyeongsang Province. Out of them, 12 children who involved four boys and eight girls were selected as an experimental group, and nine who included five boys and four girls were grouped into a control group. The reading/discussion program was implemented in eight sessions during a four-week period of time from September 23 to October 15, 2009, twice a week, 50 to 55 minutes each. The instrument used in this study was Yoon Hyang-mi(2008)'s Self-Esteem Inventory, and the collected data were analyzed with a SPSS 12.0 program. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, the reading and discussion activities had an effect on bolstering the general self, social self and academic self of the children in the Gongbubang, a social welfare center. Second, the reading and discussion activities were effective at improving the general self and academic self of the school boys in the Gongbubang, a social welfare center. Third, the reading and discussion activities had an effect on fostering the social self and academic self of the school girls in the Gongbubang, a social welfare center. The findings of the study illustrated that the reading and discussion activities had an effect on furthering the self-esteem of the children in the Gongbubang, a social welfare center, and those activities are expected to be conducive to the self-esteem of children in Gongbubangs, which are social welfare centers.
The primary purpose of this study is to estimate the guaranteed strength and construction quality of the combined high flowing concrete which is used in the slurry wall of underground LNG storage tank. The required compressive strength of this type of concrete become generally known as a non economical value because it is applied the high addition factor for variation coefficients and low reduction factor under water concrete. Therefore, after estimation of the construction quality and guaranteed strength in actual site work, this study is to propose a suitable equation to calculate the required compressive strength in order to improve its difference. Application results in actual site work are shown as followings. The optimum nix design proportion is selected that has water-cement ratio 51%, sand-aggregate ratio 48.8%, and replacement ratio 42.6% of lime stone powder by cement weight. Test results of slump flow as construction quality give average 616~634mm. 500mm flowing time and air content are satisfied with specifications in the rage of 6.3 seconds and 4.0% respectively. Results of strength test by standard curing mold show that average compressive strength is 49.9MPa, standard deviation and variation coefficients are low as 1.66MPa and 3.36%. Also test results by cored cylinder show that average compressive strength is 66.4MPa, standard deviation and variation coefficients are low as 3.64MPa and 5.48%. The guaranteed strength ratio between standard curing mold and cored cylinder show 1.23 and 1.32 in the flanks. It is shown that applied addition factor for variation coefficients and reduction factor under water concrete to calculate the required compressive strength is proved very conservative. Therefore, based on these results, it is proposed new equation having variation coefficients 7%, addition factor 1.13 and reduction factor 0.98 under water connote.

Salinity is not only an important variable that determines the density of the ocean but also one of the main parameters representing the global water cycle. Ocean salinity observations have been mainly conducted using ships, Argo floats, and buoys. Since the first satellite salinity was launched in 2009, it is also possible to observe sea surface salinity in the global ocean using satellite salinity data. However, the satellite salinity data contain various errors, it is necessary to validate its accuracy before applying it as research data. In this study, the salinity accuracy between the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite salinity data and the in-situ salinity data provided by the Ieodo ocean research station was evaluated, and the error characteristics were analyzed from April 2015 to August 2020. As a result, a total of 314 match-up points were produced, and the root mean square error (RMSE) and mean bias of salinity were 1.79 and 0.91 psu, respectively. Overall, the satellite salinity was overestimated compare to the in-situ salinity. Satellite salinity is dependent on various marine environmental factors such as season, sea surface temperature (SST), and wind speed. In summer, the difference between the satellite salinity and the in-situ salinity was less than 0.18 psu. This means that the accuracy of satellite salinity increases at high SST rather than at low SST. This accuracy was affected by the sensitivity of the sensor. Likewise, the error was reduced at wind speeds greater than 5 m s-1. This study suggests that satellite-derived salinity data should be used in coastal areas for limited use by checking if they are suitable for specific research purposes.
This study was aimed to compare the radiopacity of four kinds of currently available resin based implant cements using digital radiography. Materials and Methods: Four resin-based implant cements((Estemp $Implant^{TM}$ (Spident, Incheon, Korea), $Premier^{(R)}$Implant (Premier, Pennsylvania, USA), $Cem-Implant^{TM}$ (B.J.M lab, Or-yehuda, Israel), $InterCem^{TM}$ (SCI-PHARM, California, USA)) and control group (Elite Cement $100^{TM}$ (GC, Tokyo, Japan) ) were mixed and cured according to the manufacturer's instructions on the custom made split-type metal mold. A total of 150 specimens of each cement were prepared and each specimen (purity over 99%) was placed side-by-side with an aluminum step wedge for image taking with Intraoral X-ray unit (Esx, Vatech, Korea) and digital X-ray sensor (EzSensor, Vatech, Korea). For the evaluation of aluminum wedge equivalent thickness (mm Al), ImageJ 1.47 m (Wayne Rasband, National Institutes of Health, USA) and Color inspector 3D ver 2.0 (Interaktive Visualisierung von Farbraumen, Berlin, Germany) programs were used. Result: Among the 5 cements, Elite cement $100^{TM}$ (control group) showed the highest radio-opacity in all thickness. In the experimental group, $InterCem^{TM}$ had the highest radio-opacity followed by $Premier^{(R)}$ Implant $Cement^{TM}$, $Cem-Implant^{TM}$ and Estemp $Implant^{TM}$. In addition, $InterCem^{TM}$ showed radio-opacity that met the ISO No. 4049 standard in all the tested specimen thickness. Cem-Implant on 0.5 mm thickness showed radiopacity that met the ISO No. 4049 standard. Conclusion: Among the implant resin-based cements tested in the study, $Premier^{(R)}$ Implant Cement and Estemp $Implant^{TM}$ did not show appropriate radio-opacity. Only $InterCem^{TM}$ and $Cem-Implant^{TM}$ 0.5 mm specimen had the proper radiopacity and met the experiment standard.
