  • The Canadian military participated in World War I and felt the limitations of the recruitment system through the continuous shortage of troops caused by the prolonged war, therefore expanded the role and scope of female manpower. The use of female manpower, which began with medical support for the first time, increased its necessity and importance as medical support personnel were dispatched overseas and women's manpower was expanded to combat support missions for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Since then, the proportion of female manpower has been limited to 1.5% of the total number of employees at the end of the Second World War and the reduction of troops and the dismantling of the women's unit. In this situation, the Austrian Defence Force gradually accepts the recommendation of the Royal Canadian Women's Status Committee to improve the service conditions of women, marking a turning point in expanding the role of women in the Canadian military. The the Austrian Defence Force conducted long-term combat experiments to increase the proportion and role of female manpower, increasing reliability through observation and analysis to prove whether female manpower is suitable for combat troops. Korea also wants to draw implications for the future direction by comparing the history and current appearance of the Canadian military's use of female manpower with the Korean military at a time when the problem of a shortage of troops is emerging due to the recent decline in fertility and low birth rates.

  • In this study, a methodology for real-time classification and prediction of defects that may appear in PVDF(Polyvinylidene fluoride) sensors, which are widely used for structural integrity monitoring, is proposed. The types of sensor defects appearing according to the sensor attachment environment were classified, and an impact test using an impact hammer was performed to obtain an output signal according to the defect type. In order to cleary identify the difference between the output signal according to the defect types, the time domain statistical features were extracted and a data set was constructed. Among the machine learning based classification algorithms, the learning of the acquired data set and the result were analyzed to select the most suitable algorithm for detecting sensor defect types, and among them, it was confirmed that the highest optimization was performed to show SVM(Support Vector Machine). As a result, sensor defect types were classified with an accuracy of 92.5%, which was up to 13.95% higher than other classification algorithms. It is believed that the sensor defect prediction technique proposed in this study can be used as a base technology to secure the reliability of not only PVDF sensors but also various sensors for real time structural health monitoring.

  • Recently, research on the use of Building Information Modeling(BIM) for various construction management activities is being actively conducted, and interest in 3D model-based estimation is increasing because it has the advantage of being able to be automatically performed using the attribute information of the 3D model. Therefore, this study aimed that the difference in the quantities is calculated the quantity based on the 2D drawing of a building and is extracted from the 3D model created by the Revit software was compared and tried to find out the cause. The difference in the quantity calculated by the two methods was the largest in the formwork, followed by the smallest in the order of the quantity of rebar and concrete. The reason for this difference is that there is a part where the quantity extraction in the 3D model is not suitable for the quantity calculation standard, and in particular, in the case of formwork, it was difficult to separate only the quantity of the necessary part. In addition, since the quantity of rebar was not separated by member, it was impossible to accurately compare the quantity and identify the cause of the difference. Therefore, it is considered to be the most reasonable to use application software that imports only the numerical information necessary for quantity calculation from the 3D model and applies a separate calculation formula.

  • This paper put the goal on boosting up early startup investment by delivering and positioning SAFE as the main early startup investment type in Korea. In particular, this paper proves the better fitting of SAFE as to the early stage of venture investment than these of Convertible Note. This paper as referring the previous studies of SAFE as the major keystone issues determining active SAFE applying (legal positioning issue, tax treatment issue, failure of inducing the following investment with uncertainty over maturity) proposes boosting up policy of Korean SAFE. First, as to accounting treatment of SAFE, it suggests SAFE to recognize legally as "the capital" on the Korean Venture Investment Act of introducing SAFE actively as venture investment type. Second, as to tax treatment issue, it proposes on amending venture indication rule as the best alternative of resolving tax issue by accepting SAFE as the investment meeting to venture investment requirement. Third, as benchmarking foreign cases, it delivers the method of modifying foreign SAFE Contract Format by adding up more clauses about safety vehicles against the failure of the following investment and fixing maturity date and event. Ultimately, all resolutions of this paper fall on highlighting the role of Korean Venture Investment Act and Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a method for rapidly diagnosing urban thermal comfort using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based data. The research was conducted at Changwon National University's College of Engineering site and Yongji Park, both located in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do. Baseline data were collected using field measurements and UAVs. Specifically, the study calculated field measurement-based thermal comfort indices PET and UTCI, and used UAVs to create and analyze vegetation index (NDVI), sky view factor (SVF), and land surface temperature (LST) images. The results showed that UAV-predicted PET and UTCI had high correlations of 0.662 and 0.721, respectively, within a 1% significance level. The explanatory power of the prediction model was 43.8% for PET and 52.6% for UTCI, with RMSE values of 6.32℃ for PET and 3.16℃ for UTCI, indicating that UTCI is more suitable for UAV-based thermal comfort evaluation. The developed method offers significant time-saving advantages over traditional approaches and can be utilized for real-time urban thermal comfort assessment and mitigation planning
