An Effect of Multiple Intelligences-Specific Observation Strategy on Observation Skills, Achievement and Scientific Attitude in Elementary Science Class (초등과학 수업에서 다중지능 요소별 관찰전략을 활용한 관찰학습이 학생의 관찰능력, 성취도 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of multiple intelligences-specific observation strategy on observation skills, achievement and scientific attitude in elementary science class For this study, the observation learning for the multiple intelligences-specific observation strategy was applied to elementary science class. The results of this study were as follows: To examine this learning materials were applied to elementary science curriculum, and an experimental group and a control group were selected from 4th graders at elementary school J located in Incheon. The results of this study were as follows.: 1. this study was found statistically significant difference in the pupil's enhancement of the observation ability(p<.05). Specifically, analysis of elements of the observation abilities, it was effective to increase abilities of classification of statements, qualitative observation and quantitative observation. 2. science academic achievement of the group using this developed program was significantly higher compared with a control group. 3. there weren't differences between the comparison and experimental groups in term of the scientific attitude. But the experimental group showed greater increases in the openness, spontaneity and creativity that are the elements of scientific attitude. In conclusion, the Multiple Intelligences Observation Training was useful to develop the elementary school student's the observation ability, science academic achievement, scientific attitude(openness, spontaneity and creativity) and better be widely applied to science education.

A Study on Consideration in KCR4 through Testing the Description of Content Types and Media Types of ISBD and RDA (ISBD 및 RDA 내용유형 및 매체유형 기술 테스트를 통한 KCR4의 고려사항에 관한 연구)

  • This study was to compare the description of content types(content forms) and media types of RDA and ISBD in order to revise GMD of KCR4. Test and survey were conducted as the research methods for comparing content types and media types description of RDA and ISBD. As a result, RDA content types description is better than ISBD in aspects of uniformity and correct rates. Especially, detailed list of content types in RDA could make the resources to be expressed completely, but content forms with adding the content qualification in ISBD could make the resource to be expressed with many errors. Therefore, there were some considerations to describe content types. First, content types terms in RDA need to be specified more. Second, some detailed rules need to be regulated on the combination of content qualification of ISBD. Third, the mapping tables between RDA content types and ISBD content forms need to be revised. Fourth, RDA content types list will be more applicable in KCR4 based on the uniformity and correct rates in the test. This study will contribute to analyze and suggest RDA and ISBD terms list of content types and media types for KCR4.

Assessment of Offshore Wind Power Potential in the Western Seas of Korea (한국 서해안의 해상풍력발전 부존량 평가)

  • In this paper, annual wind data in 2014 at six locations(Seosudo, Gadaeam, Sibidongpa, Galmaeyeo, Haesuseo, Jigwido) are collected and analyzed in order to review optimal candidate site for offshore wind farm in the Western Seas of Korea. Observed wind data is fitted to Rayleigh and Weibull distribution and annual energy production is estimated according to wind frequency. GWE-3kH(3 kW-class) and GWE-10KU (10 kW-class) turbine are selected as wind turbine. Also, power curve are used to calculate wind energy potential. As a result, annual mean wind speed at six locations(Seosudo, Gadaeam, Sibidongpa, Galmaeyeo, Haesuseo, Jigwido) were calculated about 4.60, 4.5, 5.00, 5.13, 5.51, 5.90 m/s, respectively. In addition, annual energy production were estimated at 10,622.752, 11,313.05, 13,509.41, 14,899.55, 17,106.13, 19,660.85 kWh. Generally, annual mean energy density were between poor and marginal class and capacity factor at Jigwido was calculated at 22.44%. Its value is higher than the others.

  • Precedent researches on lyocell are mostly on lyocell structure, characteristics, physical properties by finishing and dyeability, and the like; there are little cases of researches on interlining for lyocell clothes production. To serve as a base information helpful to select fusible interlining and improve the efficiency of sewing process considering the characteristics of lyocell, this study performed t-est, F-test toward to the difference in the appearance-related properties and the mechanical properties of lyocell-interlining bonded fabric in accordance with the characteristics of fusible interlining and lyocell face fabric. This study reached following conclusions. Drapability and Crease recovery of lyocell-interlining bonded fabric are influenced by the structure of fusible interlining; stiffness of lyocell-interlining bonded fabric, by the structure of fusible interlining and the yam number of lyocell face fabric. WT is influenced by the mixture rate and yam number of lyocell face fabric. RT is influenced by the yam number of lyocell face fabric; G, 2HG, 2HG5, by the structure(woven and non-woven) of fusible interlining; B, HB, by the weight, structure(woven and non-woven) of fusible interlining, and yam number of lyocell face fabric; WC, by the weight, structure of fusible interlining; RC, by the structure of fusible interlining; thickness, by the weight of fusible interlining and the yarn number of lyocell face fabric; weight, by mixture rate and yam number of lyocell face fabric.

Soil Fertility Status of Arableland in Korea and Their Management Practices Required (우리나라경토의 비옥도현황과 시비관리대책)

  • In order to find out the reasons for the excessive accumulation of certain fertilizer elements in arable land in Korea, which may be a detrimental factor for her sustainable agriculture in the future, total requirement of fertilizers were estimated from the huge number of soil test data obtained throughout the country using the fertilizer requirement models based on the soil analysis data and the concepts of multi nutrient factor balance or starter fertiliazer. The total fertilizer requirements estimated based on the present soil fertility status were much less than those estimated from the suspected cropping area of various crops cultivated depending on the conventional fertilizer recommendation for each crops or the actual amount of fertilizer elements consumed through National Agricultural Cooporative Federation(NACF). The excessive accumulation of certain fertilizer elements in arable land in Korea must be due to excessively high dose of chemical fertilizers as well as those farm wastes such as animal wasts produced unexpectedly in large amounts or crop residues. And it is suggested that the improved fertilizer recommendation must be developed in consideration both with the soil fertility status and the amounts of nutrient removal by each crop, and that the high analyzed complex fertilizers commonly used by farmers must ugently be developed in a form containing low P and K with Mg and slow release type N for the better balanced management practices of soil fertility by farmers arid for their practices of sustainable agriculture.

  • Embryonic stem(ES) cells have tremendous potential as a cell source for cell-based therapies. Realization of that potential will depend on our ability to understand and manipulate the factors that influence cell fate decision and to develop methods for getting enough cell numbers for clinical applications. Hematopoiesis has been widely studied, and hematopoietic differentiation from ES cells is a good model to study lineage commitment. In this study, we investigated stemness and compared the efficiency of hematopoietic differentiation using two different mouse embryonic stem cell lines TC-1 and B6-1. Although the two cell lines showed known stem cell properties with minor differences, the embryoid body formation efficiency in methylcellulose was much higher in TC-1 than B6-1. When measured potentials of hematopoietic differentiation using functional(colony-forming cell) and phenotypic(specific marker expression) assays, we found that TC-1 can differentiate into hematopoietic cells in methylcellulose culture but B6-1 cannot. These results imply that we can improve the efficiency of hematopoietic cell differentiation by selection of proper cell lines and this may be also applied in the differentiation of human embryonic stem cells.

  • 본 연구에서는 기존문헌에서 논의되어온 수리적 매체선택모형의 한계점을 고려하여 의사결정자에게 유용한 매체선택지침을 제공할 수 있는 모형을 구축하고 이를 실제사례에 적용하여 모형의 현실적용성을 살펴본다. 기존의 매체선택모형들은 가정의 현실성 결여와 특정 요인의 단편적 고려 등으로 인하여 실행상의 문제점을 노출하였다. 최근 매체의 이미지, 소비자에 대한 소구, 편집항목 등 매체현상과 관련된 정성적 요소들을 고려하고자 하는 의도에서 AHP를 매체선택 문제에 활용하고 있으며 이것은 매체선택모형을 보다 현실적인 모형으로 만들고 있다. 또한 AHP에 의해 도출된 매체의 선호정도를 독립적으로 이용하는 것보다 정량적인 요소를 고려한 수리적 모형과 결합하는 것이 보다 효과적인 것으로 이해되고 있으며 이는 매체선택모형의 현실적합성을 한층 증가시키고 있다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 정성적 요소와 정량적 요소를 결합한 매체선택모형은 다양한 의사결정요소들을 모형에 포함시켰다는 의미에서 기존의 모형들과 차별화가 이루어지나 실제 모형을 적용하여 그 효과를 판단하는 것은 광고의 복잡성과 측정상의 문제로 인해서 매우 어려운 일로 보인다. 따라서 매체선택 모형은 더 이상 장량적인 관점에서 최적해를 추구하기 보다는 모형이 광고의 상황과 기업의 전략등에 얼마나 효과적으로 대처하는가에 초점을 맞추는 것이 중요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 AHP와 정수계획법을 결합한 모형을 이용하여 고려하고자하는 매체선택 관련요소들을 체계화하고 이 모형이 최적해를 산출하는 모형으로서가 아니라 의사결정자에게 매체선택지침을 제시하는 하나의 현실적인 의사결정지원도구로서 역할을 하고 있는가에 초점을 맞춘다. (4) 교수-학생간의 인간적인 관계, (5) 숙제 및 과제물과 같은 5가지의 요인으로 구성되어진 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 한국학생을 대상으로 하여 AHP를 이용하여 각 요인들의 수업효과에 대한 상대적 가중치를 조사하였다. 특이한 결과는, 미국학생의 경우 수업준비 및 강의 방법이 상대적으로 중시된 반면, 한국학생들은 미국학생들이 비교적 덜 중시하는 교수-학생간의 인간적인 관계가 수업효과를 높이는데 가장 큰 기여를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 한국 문화의 특징이라 할 수 있는 교수-학생간의 인간적인 관계가 중시되는 교육환경하에서, 정보화 사회의 한 수업형태인 재택수업을 외국(특히 미국)의 방법을 그대로 따라 실시할 경우, 많은 부작용이 있을 수 있다는 것을 암시하며, 따라서 우리 교육문화에 맞는 재택수업 형태의 개발이 시급함을 제시한다고 하겠다.column density of HCaN is (1-3):n1014cm-2. A Study on the Relation Characteristics between Bubble Size Distribution and Floating Time (버블의 크기별 입도분포와 부상시간과의 상관특성에 관한 연구)

  • Lately rainfall characteristics that it rains a lot in a short space of time often occurs. Because of this meteorological phenomena, the flow rate and concentration of initial rainfall for runoff and combined sewer overflows are changed. In the case of this inlet fluctuation, the flotation method at high surface loading rate is suitable for water quality management. the flotation method is able to meet the removal rate requirements of water public zone in 5 to 10 min which is irelatively short period. For assessment and diagonision of flotation method, A/S ratio is applied until now. But unfortunately, this has some limits for evaluation standard for certification and assessment of technical diagnosis and operation. This is why there is different efficiency in the bubble distribution at the same A/S ratio. The velocity and time of floating is changed by the different bubble distributions. The floating time affects the plant volume because the time factor make size dicision. Therefore the charateristics of bubble distribution and floating time at the same A/S ratio is necessary to apply to evaluation standard for certification and assessment of technical diagnosis and operation. For generalization of the method in certification and assessment, the characteristics of bubble distribution was studied. Until recently, using the optical device and shooting live video, there are some analysis technology of the floating factors. But this kind of technology is influenced by the equipment. with this level of confidence about the results, it is difficult to apply to generalize. According this reasons, this study should be applied on experiment generalization of method about measurement of relation between bubble distribution and floating time.

Study on Mathematical Method of Radiation Heat Transfer for Estimating Width of Firebreak in Surface Fire (복사열전달 수치해석을 통한 지표화 방화선 구축 폭 산정에 관한 연구)

  • Building a firebreak against surface forest fire is a typical indirect suppression method that stops spread of flame by removing surface fuel, such as fallen leaves and bushes. In the sense of fire dynamic, building a firebreak is to set a section which will block thermal energy from igniting on virgin fuel. This study suggests and evaluates a calculation method for width of firebreak against surface fire for variant wind and slope conditions by applying the Point Source Model (PSM) to fallen leaves of Pinus densiflora. Width of firebreak was measured based on the distance the threshold radiant heat igniting Pinus densiflora fallen leaves at the heat flux of $4.9\;kW/m^2$ reaches. As a result, at the wind velocity of 0~5 m/s and on the slope of $0{\sim}50^{\circ}$, the appropriate width of a firebreak was 0.35~0.65 m for the mean flame height and 0.75~1.05 m for the maximum flame height. Accordingly, considering the factor of safety, the most appropriate width of a firebreak is 1.05 m based on the maximum flame height. Additional comparative analyses through experiments and field surveys are deemed necessary to determine appropriate widths of firebreak for different types of surface fuel.

Performance of Northern Exposure Index in Reducing Estimation Error for Daily Maximum Temperature over a Rugged Terrain (북향개방지수가 복잡지형의 일 최고기온 추정오차 저감에 미치는 영향)

  • The normalized difference in incident solar energy between a target surface and a level surface (overheating index, OHI) is useful in eliminating estimation error of site-specific maximum temperature in complex terrain. Due to the complexity in its calculation, however, an empirical proxy variable called northern exposure index (NEI) which combines slope and aspect has been used to estimate OHI based on empirical relationships between the two. An experiment with real-world landscape and temperature data was carried out to evaluate performance of the NEI - derived OHI (N-OHI) in reduction of spatial interpolation error for daily maximum temperature compared with that by the original OHI. We collected daily maximum temperature data from 7 sites in a mountainous watershed with a $149 km^2$ area and a 795m elevation range ($651{\sim}1,445m$) in Pyongchang, Kangwon province. Northern exposure index was calculated for the entire 166,050 grid cells constituting the watershed based on a 30-m digital elevation model. Daily OHI was calculated for the same watershed ana regressed to the variation of NEI. The regression equations were used to estimate N-OHI for 15th of each month. Deviations in daily maximum temperature at 7 sites from those measured at the nearby synoptic station were calculated from June 2006 to February 2007 and regressed to the N-OHI. The same procedure was repeated with the original OHI values. The ratio sum of square errors contributable by the N-OHI were 0.46 (winter), 0.24 (fall), and 0.01 (summer), while those by the original OHI were 0.52, 0.37 and 0.15, respectively.
