  • A thermoacoustic refrigerator, using a resonant standing acoustic wave, has been built. It employs a loudspeaker to sustain a standing wave in a resonance tube. The stack of plates is 0.075mm-thick plastic sheet(Mylar), spirally wound to make a 40mm-diameter assembly 80mm long. and two heat exchanger are installed. The refrigerant is Helium gas. The description of thermoacoustic refrigerator are presented. The directly measured performance of the resonator. Tc/Th ( temperature ratio ) and $COP/COP_{c}$, (normalized by carnot's COP ) are plotted versus the thermal load Q applied to the cold end, for various speaker power.

  • The thermoacoustic refrigerator bas not only considerable possibility but also commercial usability, because it bas high reliability, lower vibration, no moving part, and can easily be constructed. In this study, the resonance characteristics of the thermoacoustic refrigerator were investigated for better performance, varying length of the resonance tube to 400mm, 500mm, 600mm, 700mm. In order to determine the optimum resonance tube length and the frequency, the $\lambda/4$ thermoacoustic engine and the similar apparatus of Wheatly type refrigerator were constructed. It was used air as a coolant. in the fifth harmonic, it was taken the highest ${\Delta}t$ that was $56.3^{\circ}C$ at 626Hz in 400mm tube with 40mm stack.

  • The thermoacoustic refrigerator has not only considerable possibility but also commercial usability, because it has high reliability, lower vibration, no moving part, and can easily be constructed. In this study, the resonance characteristics of the thermoacoustic refrigerator were investigated for better performance, varying the length of Resonant Tube to 400mm $\sim850mm$. In order to determine the optimum position of stack in the resonance tube and the frequency, the simple $\lambda/2$ thermoacoustic refrigerator was constructed. It was used air as a coolant. in the fifth harmonic, it was taken the highest ${\Delta}t$ that was $52.6^{\circ}C$ at 827Hz in 400mm tube with 40mm stack.

  • The thermoacoustic refrigerator has not only considerable possibility but also commercial usability, because it has high reliability, lower vibration, no moving part, and can easily be constructed. In this study, The thermoacoustic refrigerator were constructed. The apparatus is capable of driving closed systems containing He or air at mean pressures ranging from 1-9.3 bar, at frequencies ranging from 100-1000Hz. The resonance characteristics of the thermoacoustic refrigerator were investigated for better performance, The resonance tube is 340.5mm in length. In case of using air as a coolant. Freezing frequency is 174Hz, In case of using He as a coolant Freezing frequency is 625Hz. Using He, The cold-part temperature of the heat exchanger fell to $-23.7^{\circ}C$ after 120 minutes in 70W.

  • Responses of ultrasonic back scattered energy and AE (Acoustic Emission) characteristics related to the progressive damage of $[0/90-{2}]_s$ and $[0/90-{4}]_s$ crossply laminates were studied. It was found that the ultrasonic backscattered energy was sensitive to the matrix cracking but not sensitive to other failure mechanisms. However, AE was proved to be sensitive to matrix cracking as well as other failure mechanisms.AE signals were analyzed by investigating the amplitude and number of counts per event for corresponding applied strain. Loading and unloading tests were conducted separately. AE results showed Kaiser effect in the crossply composite laminates and ultrasonic results supported the AE results.

  • Thermoacoustic refrigerators are operated with acoustic power to pump heat. The acoustic standing wave displaces the gas In the channels of the stack while compressing and expanding. The thermal interaction between the osillating gas he surface of the stack generates an acoustic heat pumping. in this study, a thermoacoustic refrigerator is composed of a resonator of 4cm diameter, stack of plates, heat exchangers and cooling part. Length of the hot heat exchangers, the stack of plates and the cold heat exchanger are 9mm, 8mm and 6mm respectively. Using helium as a coolant at frequency of 516Hz, the cold-part temperature of exchanger fell to $-19.0^{\circ}C$ after 1hours.

  • The Bunhuangsa stone pagoda, constructed in AD. 634, National Treasure no. 30, has been named as 'brick-copied pagoda' since the Japanese-ruling period by scholars. It is said that the Chinese brick pagoda was its precedent model, however the Bunhuangsa Pagoda is the oldest of all the Chinese-style brick pagodas except one, the Sungaksa Pagoda. The Chinese pagoda cannot have been a precedent model to copy due to its complex detail of wood vestige, as the Bunhuangsa pagoda is simple form without ornament. Domestic brick pagodas cannot have been a precedent model to copy as well, because all the domestic brick pagodas are younger than the Bunhuangsa Pagoda. Therefore, the terminology 'brick-copied pagoda' is a fallacy; it is rather that later brick pagoda copied the precedent the Bunhuangsa stone pagoda. The Bunhuangsa Pagoda is simply a piled-up pagoda of thick or thin, big or small slates of stone, facing only one smooth side and therefore needing nothing to relate to brick. The originality of the pagoda is more related to simple piled-up Indian stone stupa rather than Chinese brick pagoda. The roof form of its gradually stepped projection comes from the harmika of the summit of Indian stupa. Contrary to general history, old Silla Dynasty imported Buddhism directly from India by sea. From written national history and by temple foundation history, the Indian Buddhism evangelist possibly made influence to the erecting of temple and pagoda. The original wrong terminology has made a harmful effect gradually to the naming of mass-styled stone pagoda of only carved stepped-roof form after brick-copied pagoda. The false term 'brick-copied pagoda' should be discarded, which comes with superficial observation based on toadyism to China and colonialism to Japan. Instead of the fallacious term, this paper suggests multi-storied 'piled-up pagoda with slate stone.'
