Performance of MIMO MC-CDMA systems combining multi-beamforming algorithm with space-time coding (적응 다중 빔형성 기법과 시공간 부호가 결합된 MIMO MC-CDMA시스템의 성능)

  • In this paper, the new multi-beamforming is proposed for Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Multicarrier-Code division multiple access(MC-CDMA) systems to overcome the decrease of performance due to multiuser interference and multiple-antenna interference. Installing the number of multi-beamformer which is equal to the number of multi-transmitter antennas and exploiting the proposed approach at the receiver of MIMO MC-CDMA, the multi-beams are formed toward each multi-antenna of desired user and null beam are formed to other interference. Therefore, the performance of MIMO MC-CDMA system is improved as removing the interference signal. BER performance improvement is investigated through computer simulation by the proposed approach to MIMO MC-CDMA system.

  • In this paper, the new technique combing power control with Pre-FFT beamforming is proposed for MIMO(multi-input multi-output)-OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system. As combining the proposed power control with beamforming, we can iteratively control the transmittingpower and update the weight of beamformer together. And then, the beam is formed toward the desired direction and SNIR of each subcarrier is converged to target SNIR. Therefore, the performance of MIMO-OFDM system is very improved. BER performance improvement of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by combining power allocation algorithm with MIMO-OFDM system using Pre-FFT beamformer

  • 본 논문은 WCDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크에서의 빔포밍 적용에 관하여 기술하였다. 제안된 빔포밍 구조는 제어채널의 파일럿 심볼을 이용한 빔포밍 계수계산과 데이터 채널에 적용하는 분리구조를 가지고 있다. 적응 빔포밍의 대표적 방식인 LMS 알고리즘과steering 알고리즘을 적용하여 성능 분석과 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 다양한 환경 변수에 따른 시뮬레이션 결과는 빔포밍 알고리즘의 구현과 설계에 있어 중요한 지침을 주리라 기대된다.

  • GPS (global positioning system) is a popular system that provides location information by measuring arrival time difference at the receiver between several GPS satellite signals. GPS is widely used in commercial area as well as military systems. Reliable GPS signal reception is more important in the military applications such as guided missiles. However, since the carrier frequencies of the GPS signals are well known and the received power is extremely low, the GPS systems are vulnerable to intentional jamming attacks. To remove jammers while maintaining GPS signals at the received signals, a popular technique is an adaptive beam steering method based on array antenna. Among adaptive beam steering techniques, this paper considers MVDR (minimum variance distortionless response) algorithm, and proposes a new adaptive technique that preserves the received signals at desired directions, but removes the unknown jamming signals adaptively. The performance of the proposed method is verified through computer simulation.

  • DS/CDMA 이동통신 환경에서 채널의 용량을 제한하는 가장 큰 요인은 다중 사용자 간섭 신호의 영향이다. 본 논문에서는 어레이 안테나와 적응 혼합 다중 사용자 검파기 구조 (MUD: Multi-User Detection)를 이용하여 이러한 문제를 제거한다. 어레이 안테나의 각각의 빔 형성기는 MUD에서 궤환되는 기준 신호를 이용하여 원하는 사용자의 방향으로 빔을 형성하고 간섭 신호 방향으로는 널을 형성하여 제거하게 된다. 수신 신호의 전력이 제어되지 못하여 원근 문제(near-far problem)가 발생할 경우, 제안한 MUD는 적응적으로 지배적인 상관 값에 대해서는 직렬형, 비슷한 크기의 신호들은 병렬형 간섭 제거기를 통하여 제거함으로써 기존의 고정형 간섭 제거기보다 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

Optimal Directivity Synthesis of Ultrasonic Transducers Using a Combined Algorithm (조합 알고리즘에 의한 초음파 트랜스듀서의 최적 지향성합성)

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm that used a direct method to set an initial value of Broydon-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno(BFGS) method and, accordingly, conducted an experiment in optimal directivity synthesis of adaptive ultrasonic transducer by point source array. To certify the efficiency of this method, quasi-ideal beam with arbitrary beam width, rotating beam, and multi beam, all with the limited side lobe level -30dB, were chosen to check the problem of directivity synthesis that was formed by point source array in the second dimensional sound field. The numerical calculation results showed that the proposed method performed the directivity synthesis faster than the BFGS method did. In addition, the proposed method showed a good error correction for directivity synthesis, and did not demand the choice of initial value. Finally, it is also shown that the proposed method can be used for the adaptive control that was not possible with the direct method alone.

  • 적응광학(AO; adaptive optics) 시스템의 중요한 구성요소인 파면측정 장치(wavefront sensor)는 변형거울(deformable mirror)과 제어용 컴퓨터에 연결되어 파면보정을 실시간으로 처리할 수 있도록 파면의 왜곡정보를 제공한다. 제작된 Shack-Hartmann 파면측정 장치는 배열렌즈(array lens), 빔 축소 광학계, CCD 카메라 등으로 구성되어있는데, 측정된 파면의 정보는 영상처리 보드가 내장된 제어용 컴퓨터를 사용하여 분석한 뒤 실시간으로 보정장치를 구동할 수 있도록 설계되었다.   • This paper deals with a problem of vibration suppression of a piezoelectric beam using a self-sensing algorithm. Two methods, which are PPF(positive position feedback) and SRF(strain rate feedback), are considered to suppress a residual vibration of a piezoelectric beam developed during the step positioning of a beam end point. A self-sensing algorithm treated here is basically a strain rate estimator of a beam movement and is to be used for the closed loop control. The efficacy of the proposed idea is evaluated through experiments.
