Two CMOS composite transistors with an improved operating region by reducing the threshold voltage are proposed in this paper. And also, as an application of the proposed composite transistors, the transconductor is designed. The proposed composite transistor I and II employ a P-type folded composite transistor and a composite diode in order to decrease the threshold voltage, respectively. The limitation of the operating region of these transistors by current source is described. All circuits are simulated by HSPICE using 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ n-well process.

In this paper, a 8bit parity checker/generator is designed using a new gate which is proposed to implement the exclusive or(XOR) and exclusive-nor(XNOR) functions for low power consumption on transistor level. Conventional XOR/XNOR gate such as CPL, DPL and CCPL designed to reduce the power consumption has an inverter to get the full swing output signals. But this inverter consumes the major part of power and causes the time delay on CMOS circuits. Thus a new technique was adopted not utilizing inverter in the circuits. The results of simulation by Hspice shows 33% of power reduction compared with CCPL gate when A 8 bit parity checker was made with the proposed new gate using $0.8{\mu}mCMOS$ technology.
This paper proposes a structure of low-power MOS current-mode logic circuit with sleep-transistor to reduce the leakage current. The sleep-transistor is used to high-threshold voltage transistor to minimize the leakage current. The $16\;{\times}\;16$ bit parallel multiplier is designed by the proposed circuit structure. Comparing with the conventional MOS current-model logic circuit, the circuit achieves the reduction of the power consumption in sleep mode by 1/50. This circuit is designed with Samsung $0.35\;{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The validity and effectiveness are verified through the HSPICE simulation.

This paper proposes an ultra-low power design methodology for asynchronous circuits which combines with power switch structure used for reducing leakage current in the synchronous circuits. Compared to existing delay-insensitive asynchronous circuits such as static NCL and semi-static NCL, the proposed methodology provides the leakage power reduction in the NULL mode due to the high Vth of the power switches and the switching power reduction at the switching moment due to the smaller area even though it has a reasonable speed penalty. Therefore, it will become a low power design methodology required for IoT system design placing more value on power than speed. In this paper, the proposed methodology has been evaluated by a $4{\times}4$ multiplier designed using 0.11 um CMOS technology, and the simulation results have been compared to the conventional asynchronous circuits in terms of circuit delay, area, switching power and leakage power.

In this paper, we designed a low power face detection hardware and analysed its power consumption. The face detection hardware was fabricated using Samsung 0.18um CMOS technology and it can detect multiple face locations from a 2-D image. The hardware is composed of 6 functional modules and 11 internal memories. We introduced two operating modes(SLEEP and ACTIVE) to save power and a clock gating technique was used at two different levels: modules and registers. In additional, we divided an internal memory into several pieces to reduce the energy consumed when accessing memories, and fully utilized low power design option provided in Synopsis Design Compiler. As a result, we could obtain 68% power reduction in ACTIVE mode compared to the original design in which none of the above low power techniques were used.
