  • NASA(미국 항공우주청)를 중심으로 무인항공기교통관리(UTM) 체계를 이용한 드론 항공교통통제 모의시험을 진행하고 있다. 국내에서도 2017년부터 안전한 무인항공기교통관리(UTM) 체계 구축을 위한 '저고도 무인기 감시관리 기술 개발 및 시스템 시범 운용사업'을 진행할 예정이다. 본 논문은 지상도로망을 버드뷰(Birdview)처럼 내려다보며 비행할 수 있는 저고도 드론이 안전하고 효율적인 운항을 보장하기 위해서는, 상공에 장애물이 없는 지상도로망의 상공에 가상도로망과 가상신호체계를 확장시킨 한국형 가상 'SKYWAY' 항법 및 관제 체계(${\mu}$ATM)에 관한 기획 연구에 관한 것이다.

  • 좁은지역에 대한 지형정보의 획득은 저고도 UAV시스템을 이용하는 것이 경제적이다. 최근 자동항법 UAV의 발전은 저고도 고해상도 영상을 원하는 주기로 얻을 수 있어 많은 분야에 응용하고 있다. 이러한 UAV시스템은 지상관제센터와 비행체 간의 긴밀한 통신이 이루어져야 하며 촬영 중 영상의 획득 여부를 모니터링할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 NASA가 개발한 Worldwind를 커스터마이징하여 실시간 영상획득 모니터링 s/w를 개발하였다. 또한 개발시스템을 이용하여 정사영상 모자익을 실시하였으며 이에대한 정확도 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 검사점에 대해 정사모자익영상의 수평위치 정확도를 분석한 결과 X좌표에서 평균 0.181m, Y좌표에서 평균 0.203m의 편차를 보임으로써 1:1,000~5,000축척의 수치지도제작이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Most species were occured at the low altitude in June and at the high altitude in August. And then, in September, they occurred abundantly at the low sites as the same case in June. The trends in population density of 4 species of Pterostichus from Mt. T$\breve{o}$gyusan, S. Korea, were revealed various tendencies of fluctuation. Generally most species showed the seasonal prevelance in some extent of degree as their characteristic appearance.

  • In this paper, we classified a flight pattern of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) which will be operating in UTM system and analyzed its flight pattern by purpose of use. Flight patterns of UAV are sorted into three patterns which are circling, monitoring and delivery. We considered four cases of industry areas using UAV which are agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, public safety & security(p.s.s) and delivery. It is necessary to build a simulation model as a verification tool for applying the flight pattern according to the use of UAV to the real UTM system. Therefore, we propose the simulation model of UAV with updating states over time. We applied simulation to UAV monitoring flight pattern, and confirmed that the flight was done by the given input data. The simulation model will be used in the future to verify that the UAV has various flight patterns and can operate safely and efficiently for the intended use.

  • The Korean Helicopter Development Program has successfully introduced the Surion helicopter, a versatile multi-domain operational aircraft that replaces the aging UH-1 and 500MD helicopters. Specifically designed for maneuverability, the Surion plays a crucial role in low-altitude tactical maneuvers for personnel transportation and specific missions, emphasizing the helicopter's survivability. Despite the significance of its low-altitude tactical maneuver capability, there is a notable gap in research focusing on multi-mission tactical maneuvers that consider the risk factors associated with deploying the Surion in the presence of enemy air defenses. This study addresses this gap by exploring a method to enhance the Surion's low-altitude maneuvering paths, incorporating information about enemy air defenses. Leveraging the Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm, a reinforcement learning-based approach, the research aims to optimize the helicopter's path planning. Visualized experiments were conducted using a Surion model implemented in the Unity environment and ML-Agents library. The proposed method resulted in a rapid and stable policy convergence for generating optimal maneuvering paths for the Surion. The experiments, based on two key criteria, "operation time" and "minimum damage," revealed distinct optimal paths. This divergence suggests the potential for effective tactical maneuvers in low-altitude situations, considering the risk factors associated with enemy air defenses. Importantly, the Surion's capability for remote control in all directions enhances its adaptability in complex operational environments.

Thrust Characteristics of Through-type Pintle Nozzle at Operating Altitudes Conditions (작동 고도에 따른 관통형 핀틀 노즐의 추력 특성 연구)

  • Numerical simulations have been performed to investigate thrust characteristics of a through-type pintle nozzle with or without flow separation at various operating altitudes. The low Reynolds number $k-{\varepsilon}$ with compressibility correction proposed by Sarkar are applied. The detail flow structures are observed and static pressures along nozzle wall are compared with experimental results. The flow separation in the pintle nozzle disappears and jet plume strongly expands as its operating altitude increases. To evaluate the thrust characteristics, the momentum term and pressure term of thrust are analyzed. Thrust and thrust coefficient at altitude 20 km are about 10% more than them at the ground 0km.

A Study on Aircraft Sensitivity Analysis for Supersonic Air-Data Error at Low Altitude (공기정보 오차에 의한 저고도 초음속 영역에서의 민감도 해석에 관한 연구)

  • T-50 supersonic jet trainer aircraft using digital flight-by-wire flight control system receives aircraft flight conditions such as altitude, VCAS(Calibrated Airspeed) and Angle of Attack from IMFP(Integrated Multi-Function Probe). IMFP sensors information have triplex structure using three IMFP sensors. Air-data selection logic is mid-value selection in three information from three IMFP sensors in order to have more reliability. From supersonic flight test at high altitude, air-data information is dropped simultaneously because of supersonic shock wave effect. This error information may affect to aircraft stability and safety in supersonic area at low altitude. This paper propose that sensitivity analysis and HQS(Handling Quality Simulator) pilot simulation in order to analyze flight stability and controllability in supersonic area at low altitude when these information is applied to flight control law.

  • In this paper, the TWTA (Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier) maintenance system for the low altitude surveillance Radar was developed using the embedded Linux system, and its superiority was demonstrated through the performance test. Nowadays, the necessity of maintenance system and reliability testing on military equipments has been increasing steadily. In addition, nonlinear characteristics of the maintenance system for the low altitude surveillance Radar are more likely to have serious problems as well as to slow down durability. Therefore, after analyzing characteristics of RF input-output signal and TWTA, we designed interface circuits between the TWTA equipment and the embedded Linux system. The Linux kernel on the system was optimized to improve the efficiency and reliability. And our new TWTA maintenance system was evaluated in the real field. As a result, the proposed system was contented with desired specifications, and demonstrated military's fighting capabilities. Therefore, our novel system will advance military maintenance technology and will help to develop similar equipments.
