A 900 MHz RFID Receiver with an Integrated Digital Data Slicer (디지털 데이터 슬라이서가 집적된 900 MHz 대역의 RFID 수신단)

  • In this paper, a receiver has been developed in a $0.11-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology for 900 MHz RFID communication system applications. The receiver is composed of an envelope detector, a low-pass-filter, a comparator, D flip-flops, as well as an oscillator to provide the clock for digital blocks. The receiver is designed for low power consumption, which would be suitable for passive RFID tags. In this circuit, a digital data slicer was employed instead of the conventional analog data slicer in order to reduce the power consumption. The clock frequency is 1.68 MHz and the circuit operates with a power consumption as small as $5{\mu}W$. The chip size is $325{\mu}m{\times}290{\mu}m$ excluding the probing pads.

Clothing Management System Using the Smart Hanger Embedded RFID (RFID가 내장된 스마트 옷걸이를 이용한 의류 관리 시스템)

  • In this paper, we proposed the clothing management system using the smart hanger. Proposed system consists of smart hanger, base module, and server, and the smart hanger consists of MCU, LED, RFID reader, RF chip, ring sensor, and battery. The smart hanger reads the RFID tag attached to the clothes and wirelessly transmitted to the server. The server associated base module communicates with the smart hanger and transmits information to the server. The server manages clothing through the DB, and can display various information through the web page and the smart phone. In order to verify the usefulness of the proposed system, we did experiment with the management system for clothing store and laundry where using a lot of hangers. Performance tests of the smart hanger are applied to check the current consumption and can be predicted the battery life with the proposed low power algorithm. The clothing store management system can be increased sales and convenience of the consumer. The laundry management system can be increased the efficiency of laundry category and convenience of the consumer.

  • IoT 환경의 센서 네트워크와 RFID 태그 등에서의 AES나 SEED에 대응 할 수 있는 새로운 저전력 경량화 암호 알고리즘이 필요 해짐에 따라 본 논문에서는 2006년 국내에서 제안된 HIGHT와 2007년 CHES에서 제안된 PRESENT 알고리즘을 Arduino에 적용하여 성능을 비교분석 하였다. 그 결과 HIGHT 알고리즘이 PRESENT알고리즘에 비하여 더 짧고, 적은 수행시간과 프로그램 메모리 사용량을 보였으며, 더 많은 동적 메모리 사용량을 보였다.

  • RFID 수동 태그의 동작 원리를 이용하여 USN/WBAN 센서 노드 시스템에 적용 가능한 웨이크 업 회로를 설계하였다. 웨이크 업회로 구성은 크게 전압 체배기, 복조기, 상태기계로 구성되었다. 상태 기계에 동작 가능한 전압을 공급하기 위해 전압 체배기는 문턱 전압 제거 방식을 적용한 구조를 사용하였고, 복조기 회로로는 AM 복조기로 구조가 간단한 포락선 검파기 방식을 사용하였다. 전압 체배기에 높은 전압이 인가될 경우 회로가 파괴되는 것을 막기 위해 제한 회로를 구성하여 최대 전압을 2.1V로 제한하였다. 또한 복조기에서는 안정적인 데이터 복조를 위해 비교기의 기준전압을 입력신호의 평균값을 사용한 슈미트 트리거 비교기를 사용하여 안정적으로 데이터를 추출하였다. 삼성 0.18um CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계하였고, 측정 결과 전압 체배기의 체배 전압은 2.07~1.76V까지 체배 되는 것을 확인하였고, 복조기의 데이터 복조 역시 약 4M의 거리까지 데이터를 복조함을 확인하였다.

  • Early in 21st century, researches about intelligent service robot that provide various services for a human out of the industrial robot only has simple pattern repetition. It concentrates in the research regarding the URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion) robot which connects the network in the intelligent service. This paper proposes the robot system based on network to guide a way. The robot has made by lego brick and used ultrasonic sensor, rotation sensor and RFID tag to recognize external environment. Also, it includes a PDA to process the data between robot and server. The network server transmits information to robot controller by bluetooth and it controls the course movement and evasion of the robot. In this research, the robot system based on network to guide a way is easy to expand service and is able to process a data in real time due to data processing in the server as a part of intelligent robot. And it can reduce the cost to build a robot thank to use cheaper sensor equipment.

  • In this paper, we design a 256-bit EEPROM IP using only logic process-based devices. We propose EEPROM core circuits, a control gate (CG) and a tunnel gate (TG) driving circuit, to limit the voltages between the devices within 5.5V; and we propose DC-DC converters : VPP (=+4.75V), VNN (-4.75V), and VNNL (=VNN/3) generation circuit. In addition, we propose switching powers, CG_HV, CG_LV, TG_HV, TG_LV, VNNL_CG, VNNL_TG switching circuit, to be supplied for the CG and TG driving circuit. Simulation results under the typical simulation condition show that the power consumptions in the read, erase, and program mode are $12.86{\mu}W$, $22.52{\mu}W$, and $22.58{\mu}W$ respectively. Furthermore, the manufactured test chip operated normally and generated its target voltages of VPP, VNN, and VNNL as 4.69V, -4.74V, and -1.89V.

  • From bar code systems and radio frequency identification (RFID) to beacons utilizing low power bluetooth technology, the fusion of information technology and health and medical treatment is spreading through advances such as automated treatment and examination stages and the use of treatment information connected to smart devices. In this paper, designed and implemented a mobile health care system for the safe management of blood transfusions to prevent accidental problems that can occur during patient blood transfusions. It makes safe and effective blood transfusion possible by using smart devices to read information saved on patient bracelets, blood-collecting containers, blood transfusion bags, and medical personnel identification cards so that they match patient information. By applying the blood transfusion management mobile health care system presented and implemented in this paper to blood transfusion processes in hospitals, it was verified that it allows for safe and effective blood transfusion, preventing accidents which may occur in blood transfusion processes.
