The purpose of this study was to identify the professional identity levels and characteristics of occupational therapists through Rasch analysis and to use this as the basis for further assessment and research on the same subject. An online survey was conducted, and the response of 88 people working as occupational therapists between May and June 2020 was analyzed. The collected data included the frequency, analyzed by SPSS 22.0 and technical statistics, Winsteps 3.8.0 target and item suitability, item difficulty, level scale, and separation reliability. According to the analysis, 17 (16.3%) of the subjects and 5 (20%) out of 25 items were unsuitable. Item difficulty was the highest in the category "I systematically read professional publications on occupational therapy", and the lowest level of difficulty in "I make my own decisions about what to do." The three-point scale was suitable for the equilibrium scale, and the separation reliability was between .86 and .95. Thus, identity levels and characteristics of occupational therapists, the suitability of items and subjects, and difficulty levels can be identified through Rasch analysis. In the future, research should be conducted on various sample groups, to develop identity measurement tools specifically for occupational therapists, and to present items appropriate to the characteristics of their work.
Objective : This study aimed to systematically examine studies on the life-space mobility in community-dwelling elderly and analyze and summarize the research trends. Methods : The Embase and PubMed databases were searched for articles on the life-space mobility of community-dwelling elderly published between January 2010 and January 2020. Based on the selection and exclusion criteria of the 335 articles, a total of 27 articles were finally selected and analyzed. Results : As a results, 11 (40.7%) cohort studies had evidence level II. This study showed that the participants in the studies were healthy elderly (81.5%), and the University of Alabama Life-Space Assessment (UAB-LSA) used the most participants (88.9%). Of the foci of the 27 finally selected studies, 8 (29.6%) were physical, 8 (29.6%) were psychosocial, 6 (22.2%) were cognitive, and 2 (7.4%) were social, and 3 (11.1%) were others. The life-space mobility of the elderly needs to be analyzed from a multidimensional point of view, and not based on a single factor such as the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, or social. Conclusion : The results of this study are expected to verify causality through the study of life-space mobility for the elderly staying in various communities and provide future directions for the study on the mobility of the elderly's and the development of community-based intervention programs.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify and compare the sex differences in episodic memory and spatial cognition in healthy young adults. Methods : Forty-eight undergraduates (male=24, female=24) were assessed for sex differences using the visual stimuli episodic memory task and the virtual reality-based spatial cognition task. The accuracy rates (%) for the What, Where, and When conditions of the episodic memory task and the average distance error (cm) for 10 trials of the spatial cognition task were analyzed. Results : There were no significant sex differences between the three conditions. The male participants showed a significantly higher performance on the spatial cognition task than the female participants Conclusion : The results of this study indicated that the sex differences in episodic memory could be altered by the test methods. Although episodic memory and spatial cognition mainly depend on the hippocampus, the sex-related differences between the two functions were inconsistent, suggesting that these two functions are independent.

Subjects were 14 children with intellectual disability and they participated in the program using visual video materials. Hand washing education program was consisted of introduction, theory education, and practice and it performed 2 times a week, total 16 sessions during 8 weeks. Hand washing theory education was consisted about the importance and application of hand washing, proper hand washing steps and methods, use of hand washing tools, use of hand sanitizers including characteristics, and prevention of skin damage from hand washing. Hand washing assessment was used by hand washing frequence and methods observation report. Hand washing frequency was measured by the hand washing frequency during the daily routine and it was analyzed by the items divided into day and month units. Hand washing methods was measured by the items divided into use of hand washing tools, time, areas, drying methods after hand washing. As the results, after hand washing education program, the hand washing frequence was increased and hand washing methods were improved. Hand washing is much important as a active method to prevent the infection during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Thus, based on this findings, the application of hand washing education program should be considered to increase the hand washing frequency and improve the hand washing methods of the children with intellectual disability.
Objective : This study evaluated the differences between the upper and lower arm activities of the affected and non-affected sides in stroke patients performing activities of daily living. It was intended to gather basic data for the measurement of daily activities. Methods : The participants in the study consisted of 20 patients, 10 had left hemiplegia and 10 had right hemiplegia. Between September and November 2017, they performed drinking and dressing as unimanual and bimanual tasks. The 3-axes accelerometers were placed 2cm below the lateral epicondyle on the upper arm and 2cm below the radial styloid on the lower arm. The data were collected at intervals of 1/32 Hz and analyzed. Results : In patients with right hemiplegia, the tendon activity was significantly higher in the lower arm when performing a bimanual activity (p<.05), for all the other activities, those of the lower arm were significantly higher than those of the upper arm (p<.01, p<.05). There was no significant difference between the unimanual and bimanual activities of the affected and tendon sides in patients with left hemiplegia (p>.05). In both hands, the activity of the lower arm was significantly higher than that of the activities of the upper and lower arms, except on the affected side (p<.05). In all patients, the activities of the upper and lower arms were significantly higher (p<.05), and the activity of the lower arm was significantly higher than that of the upper (p<.001, p<.05). Conclusion : The activity was higher on the non-affected side than the affected side during the dressing task, and the overall activity was higher in the lower arm than the upper arm.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in brain activities when Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) is used alone compare to NDT is combined with intradermal acupuncture (IDA) treatment, using functional infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) Methods Three children less than 7 year-old with cerebral palsy were participated. On their first visit, only NDT was used. After a week, they were treated with both NDT and IDA. During the treatment, fNIRS was used to measure any changes in their brain activities. Results In first patient with NDT, oxyhemoglobin level was increased during Standing exercise and Gait training compared to resting state. When the patient was treated with NDT and IDA, oxyhemoglobin level was decreased during Standing exercise and Gait training compared to resting state, and the result was significant (p<0.05). In second patient, oxyhemoglobin level was decreased in Gait training compared to resting state when NDT was used, but the level was increased when NDT and IDA were used in Gait training compared to resting state (p<0.05). In third patient, the difference in oxyhemoglobin levels between Gait training and resting state was significant (p<0.05). Conclusions Treatment involving both NDT and IDA has more potential to improve brain activities compared to that of NDT alone, and no adverse effect was reported. In order to confirm the finding, larger scale randomized controlled trials are needed.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of simultaneous dual-task training to assess executive function in older adults. Methods : We searched the PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, Web of Science, and RISS databases of publicated studies in the past decade. Seven studies were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Qualitative assessment and meta-analysis were performed for the seven studies. Results : A randomized controlled trial design was used in the selected studies, and PEDro Scores above seven were obtained. The Trial Making Test (TMT) evaluated the effects of dual-task training on executive function in four studies. The Color Trail Test (CTT) was used in two studies, and Stroop test was used in three studies. The effect size for total executive function was 0.38, which was small. The effect sizes for TMT and CTT were 0.37. Stroop Test was 0.34, demonstrating that their effect sizes were also small. Only significant effects in total executive function, TMT, and CTT showed significant effects (all p<0.05). Conclusion : This study confirmed that dual-task training was effective in improving executive function in older adults. To improve the effectiveness of dual-task training, the difficulty of the dual-task training should be considered. It is also necessary to implement assessments that can evaluate performance under dual-task conditions as well as conventional test tools for executive function. In the future, dual-task training could be used as an appropriate intervention for executive function in older adults to delay the onset of dementia.
