The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medicine treatment on the gait disorder. Patient with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-associated disorder. We treated the patient using Korean medicine treatment including Motion-Style-Acupuncture-Treatment, pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, and herbal medicine during 30 days. Numerical rating scale (NRS), EuroQol five dimension (EQ-5D) index, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Modified Barthel Index (MBI), and the changes of symptoms were measured for assessment. After 30 days inpatient treatment, NRS decreased from 4 to 2, EQ-5D index, ODI, MBI, and the symptoms of the patient also were improved. In conclusion, this case shows Korean medicine treatment might be an effective treatment for gait disorder Patient with MOG-associated disorder.

Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is a severe disease that usually needs surgical treatment. We have treated two CSM patients with Korean traditonal medicine, which includes acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine and manual treatment (Chuna). For objective evaluation, we used Nurick's classification, JOA (Japanses Orthopedic Association) score, grip and release test and hand grasping power measurement. Post-treatment analysis has shown that grip and release test score and grasping power of two patients were both remarkably improved, along with the improvements on both Nurick's classification and JOA score. This study showed that Korean traditional medicine could be effective conservative treatment for CSM.

Clay-shoveler's fractures are rare stress-type avulsion fractures of the spinous processes especially in sports. There have been two case reports that discussed clay-shoveler's fractures in golf. A 36-year-old beginner golfer presented with a pain in the back after practicing golf swing. No fractures were detected using cervical radiography; however, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed T2~T3 spinous process fractures. The patient was treated conservatively and his pain subsided. The mechanism of injury is speculated to that of clay-shoveler's fractures. Therefore, if a golfer suffers persistent pain in the cervicothoracic region, clay-shoveler's fracture is one possibility to consider.

Motor paralysis is a less common neurologic complication of herpes zoster. Until now, a few cases have been reported, and most of these cases showed brachial plexopathy involving one or two segments. We report a patient with pain and weakness on upper extremity diagnosed as brachial plexopathy after herpes zoster infection. An 88-year-old female patient complained not only tingling sense, pain, and swelling on right whole arm, but also weakness on this right upper extremity. On physical examination, weakness is seen in right shoulder abduction·shoulder flexion·elbow flexion·elbow extension· wrist extension (grade 4), finger flexion·finger abduction·finger extension·finger DIP flexion (grade 3). In electrodiagnostic study and magnetic resonance imaging study, she was diagnosed as the brachial plexopathy, whole branch involved. This is the only case of post-herpetic brachial plexopathy involving whole branch in domestic.

This study reports the effectiveness of Korean medicine therapy by improving symptoms in patients with herniated lumbar disc (HLD) diagnosed with chronic overflow urinary incontinence (OUI). The patient was treated with two types of herbal medicine and electroacupuncture for 10 days. We used diary of voiding and incontinence, Overactive Bladder Symptom Score (OABSS), Bristol Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms questionnaire (BFLUTS) and numeral rating scale (NRS) to assess the symptoms. After treatment, the number of nocturia decreased from 5 to 2.5. OABSS decreased from 9 to 2 and BFLUTS decreased from 95 to 87. The NRS of back pain decreased from 7 to 3. This study may suggest that Korean medicine therapy can be effective therapy for OUI with HLD.

Cervical dystonia (CD) is a disorder characterized by sustained or intermittent, involuntary muscle contractions which cause twisting, repetitive movements and abnormal postures. In this case report, a CD patients was treated with transfer energy capacitive and resistive (TECAR) therapy and conventional Korean medicine, which consists of acupuncture, Chuna manual medicine, pharmacopuncture and herbal medicine. For outcome measures, this study evaluated Cobb's angle, EuroQol five dimension scale (EQ-5D), numerical rating scale (NRS), neck disabillity index (NDI) and cervical range of motion. As a result, improvements were found in Cobb's angle ($18.65^{\circ}$ to $15.90^{\circ}$), EQ-5D score (0.808 to 0.862), NRS (5 to 3), NDI (16 to 8) and angle of cervical lateral bending ($15^{\circ}$ to $25^{\circ}$). In conclusion, this study shows that combined therapy of conventional Korean medicine treatment and TECAR therapy can be effective for CD patients.

Objectives This study aims to report current status and strategies of thread embedding acupuncture (TEA) on face through survey of Korean medicine doctors. Methods The survey was conducted online via e-mail to certified Korean medicine doctors. The questionnaire is developed by Korean medicine doctors in Kyung-Hee Korean Medicine Hospital at Gangdong. The survey mainly consisted with multiple-choice questions on the current status, cost, and adverse reactions. Results TEA was predominantly utilized for cosmetic purposes, and the billing cost was commonly determined based on the number of threads used. The reported incidence of adverse reactions during TEA was 69.9%. The most frequent self-resolving adverse reaction was bruising, while the most common adverse reaction requiring medical intervention or resulting in sequelae was the 'dimple phenomenon'. According to the questionnaire, the primary factor associated with adverse reactions was the treatment area. Conclusions This study provided insights into the practical use of TEA on face in Korean medical clinic.

Although dysgeusia can occur as a consequence of stroke attacks, many physicians and patients tend to overlook it. A 50-year old woman complained of a 2-week history of abnormal sense of taste on the anterior two-thirds of right tongue. Blink reflex test demonstrated prolonged ipsilateral and contralateral R2 responses with the right supraorbital nerve stimulations, which suggest the lesion on the descending pathway. Brainstem magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated abnormal findings in the right lower dorsal pons, anterior to 4th ventricle, lateral to inferior colliculus, and at the level of the pontomedullary junction, which was compatible with solitary tract nucleus and spinal trigeminal nucleus. Brainstem infarction should be considered in patients who have abnormal sense of taste. Additionally, blink reflex test may be helpful for the detection of central origin dysgeusia.

The study aimed to understand the knee condition of patients with knee joint pain who visited an Korean Medicine hospital by performing musculoskeletal ultrasound. From July 1, 2021 to October 31, 2021, information on the gender, age, diagnosis, and ultrasound findings of knee joint pain patients were retrospectively collected. To examine the condition of the knee joint, images were taken in a total of three postures. All images were analyzed by an examiner. 7 cases of osteoarthritis, 1 case of medial collateral ligament rupture, and 1 case of quadriceps tendon calcification were collected. It was able to check the condition of articular cartilage, lipoma arborescens, and the formation of osteophytes through musculoskeletal ultrasound. The implementation of musculoskeletal ultrasound can enable Korean medicine doctors to give more active treatment for patients through accurate and scientific diagnosis. Based on more evidence, it is thought that the use of medical devices by Korean medicine doctors will need to be made in the future.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of integrative Korean medicine treatment for patients who were diagnosed as acute fracture on pelvis. The patients were treated by Korean medicine as conservative management including acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medication and cupping for hospitalization periods. Numerical rating scale (NRS), EuroQol-5 dimensions (EQ-5D), Oswestry disability index (ODI), patient global impression of change (PGIC), self-walking distance and the changes of symptoms were measured to assess patients' improvement. NRS, ODI scores and EQ-5D definitely improved on 4 patients of 5 cases. NRS decreased from 6~7 to 3~5, ODI scores decreased from 62~75.11 to 40~52 and EQ-5D increased from 0.013~0.331 to 0.47~0.773. PGIC and self-walking distance were also enhanced after treatments. In conclusion, this study suggests that integrative Korean medicine could be effective treatment for acute pelvic fracture.
