Purpose: This study investigated the correlation between physical function and forward head posture in spastic diplegia. Methods: The subjects of this study were 10 spastic diplegia patients. We took pictures of the subjects' craniovertebral angle with a digital camera to determine the degree of forward head posture and then analyzed them using the NIH image J program. The physical function test used the TCMS, the BBT, and a spirometer. The data in this study were measured using SPSS version 23.0, and the statistical significance level α was 0.05. A Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was performed to identify the correlation between the degree of the subject's head forward position and physical function. Results: When we performed the BBT and spirometer tests, the subjects' forward head postures were not correlated (p < 0.05). However, with the TCMS, there was a strong correlation between the forward position of the head and balance, with balance decreasing as the head position increased (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Spastic diplegia patients with severe forward head posture showed problems with static balance, dynamic balance, and equilibrium reaction when sitting. Intervention on the right posture and preventive activities will be needed to improve the health of spastic diplegia patients and prevent future problems with physical function.

The purpose of this study is to report the effect in treating a patient with a case of avulsion fracture of the proximal 5th metatarsal with a combination of Korean medicine therapy. We treated the patient with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal medicine The numeric rating scale, X-ray were applied as outcome measures. After complex Korean medicine treatment, this patient's avulsion fracture of the proximal 5th metatarsal was improved and pain was reduced. This result shows that Korean medical therapy may be an effective option for avulsion fracture of the proximal 5th metatarsal.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to provide an evidence base for the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy (CMT) alone for cervicogenic dizziness. Methods We conducted a search up to October 2018 in 7 electronic databases. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that performed CMT for cervicogenic dizziness were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results Ten RCTs met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis of 4 RCTs showed favorable results for the use of CMT alone compared to medication. Conclusions In 10 RCTs, we found that CMT was effective in cervicogenic dizziness. However, most of the included RCTs were unclear risk of bias. Therefore, well designed RCTs would be needed to obtain the stronger evidence level of CMT for cervicogenic dizziness.

This retrospective study reports the effectiveness of Daoyin exercise therapy in a patient with lower back pain who suffered from idiopathic scoliosis. A patient was treated with Korean medicine containing Daoyin exercise therapy for 4 weeks. The patient was assessed for the numeral rating scale (NRS), Cobb's angle, correctability, and coronal balance. After treatment, the NRS of low back pain decreased from 9 to 1. The Cobb's angle of the thoracic curve decreased from 27.31° to 17.66°. The Cobb's angle of the lumbar curve decreased from 21.86° to 9.05°. Correctabililty was 35.34% in the thoracic curve and 58.60% in the lumbar curve. And coronal balance decreased from positive 32.80 mm to negative 3.20 mm. This study suggests that Daoyin exercise therapy could be effective therapeutic choice for lower back pain with idiopathic scoliosis.

A 50-year-old Korean male tour guide without any medical or family history complained of left knee pain. After receiving umbilical cord blood injection treatment, the pain gradually worsened. After being diagnosed with septic arthritis in the left knee, arthroscopic lavage, debridement, antibiotic treatment, and routine rehabilitation therapy were performed, but the symptoms persisted. In the hospital, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, acupotomy, Chuna manual therapy, and cupping therapy were performed in addition to the usual treatment for 59 days. To evaluate the patient's improvement, the numeric rating scale, EuroQol 5-dimension, pain disability index, and Lysholm knee scoring system were used. After treatment, the symptoms improved in all assessment tools, swelling, and range of motion of the joint. Through this study, it was found that complex Korean medical therapies may be effective for postoperative ankylosis in septic arthritis of the knee, and further studies are needed to clarify the therapeutic effect.

The purpose of this study is to report a case in which neoplasm metastases of cervical vertebrae were found in lung cancer patient during inpatient treatment for neck pain. Pain assessment and physical examination including numeral rating scale, range of motion of neck, Spurling's test, cervical compression test were performed. As a result, C-spine series X-ray was taken under the judgement it is not a simple neck pain. Bone metastases were suspected as X-ray showed loss of C7 left pedicle, indistinct C7 left transverse process and indistinct C4 upper margin. Magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography were taken as further examination, and metastases of C4, C6, C7 were confirmed. The patient was transferred for professional treatment. In conclusion, this study shows the importance of appropriate diagnostic evaluation such as pain assessment and physical examination, and the need for diagnostic imaging in the treatment of patients with neoplasm history.

고가용성 다중계 시스템의 소프트웨어 재활 기법은 시스템의 결함 발생 이후에 수동적으로 대처하기보다는 결함이 발생하기 전에 이를 미연에 방지하는 능동적 차원의 결함 허용 방법이다. 특히 멀티미디어 이동 컴퓨팅에서 사용되는 소프트웨어는 통신 단절, 데이터 유실 등으로 인한 노화 진행이 일반 소프트웨어보다 상당히 빠르게 진행되기 때문에 소프트웨어 재활에 의한 결함 예방 방법은 대규모 멀티미디어 이동 컴퓨팅 시스템에 사용될 가능성이 높다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 서버에서 수행되는 소프트웨어의 재활 주기, 재활 소요시간, 서버의 고장률, 수리률, 동시에 가동되는 서버의 수, 서버의 가동 기간 및 가동 방식 등의 시스템 운영 파라미터에 기초하여, 소프트웨어 재활 정책에 대한 평가를 위한 평형 상태에서의 확률, downtime, 가용도, 손실 비용 등을 계산하였다 수학적 분석을 통해 구한 재활 모델의 closed-form 해는 다양한 시스템 운영 상태에 대한 실험을 통해 검증하였으며, 소프트웨어 재활을 통한 예방적 결함허용 기법의 적용 가능성이 높다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 서버의 고장률 및 불안정률이 소프트웨어 재활 정책 결정에 중요한 요소임을 파악하였다.

Objectives This paper is an analysis of domestic and foreign trends for the Korean medical treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Methods Domestic and foreign databases were searched and analyzed for Korean medical treatment interventions, research types, and treatment effects for avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Results There were 10 case reports in Korea, 2 case reports and 3 randomized controlled studies abroad. A total of 12 treatment interventions were used, and the types include acupuncture, herbal medicine, phamacopunture, electroacupuncture, cupping, physical therapy, chuna, acupotomy, moxibustion, warm acupuncture, laser acupuncture, and motion style treatment. As for the evaluation index, visual analogue scale, range of motion and harris hip score were the most common with 7 cases each. Conclusions Through this study, it was possible to understand the trends of domestic and foreign research on the treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head with Korean medicine. However, due to the small number of literature and no randomized control studies in Korea, treatment evidence is insufficient. It is considered that further research is needed in the future.

Objectives The aim of this study is to retrospectively evaluate the shoulder lesions in patients experiencing shoulder pain through the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound during Korean medicine intervention treatments. Methods A total of 20 cases were collected, including biceps tendinitis (n=4), calcification (n=3), SASD bursitis (n=4), partial tear (n=2), full-thickness tear (n=1), tendinopathy (n=5), and impingement syndrome (n=1). Musculoskeletal ultrasound was used by Korean medicine doctors to perform real-time scanning and to explain the patient's condition during treatment sessions. Results The use of musculoskeletal ultrasound allowed Korean medicine doctors to perform treatments such as pharmacoacupuncture, acupotomy, and acupuncture more safely and effectively. Patients were able to better understand their conditions through real-time imaging and explanations provided by the doctors. Conclusions Musculoskeletal ultrasound has the potential to enhance the safety and efficacy of Korean medicine intervention treatments for patients with shoulder pain. Institutional or governmental support is needed to further promote the use of medical devices by Korean medicine doctors, ultimately leading to an increase in cases and clinical evidence.

본 연구는 특수교육, 재활과학, 사회복지 분야를 통해 장애인 교육 및 복지의 거점 대학으로 위상 및 정체성을 확립하고 있는 대구대학교를 기반으로 장애인평생교육의 융합전공이 신설될 수 있는 근거와 방안을 다각적으로 논의하는 데 목적을 두어 실시되었다. 장애인평생교육은 장애인 학습자를 대상으로 하기 때문에 장애의 특수성을 공통적으로 반영하고 있으나, 교육과 복지의 두 가지 관점 및 성격을 구성하고 있으므로 장애인 관련 분야의 학제 간 융합연구에 따른 접근이 중요하게 요구된다. 위 차원에서 대구대학교는 현행에 구축하고 있는 학문 및 실천 기반의 각종 인프라를 통해 국내 장애인평생교육을 주도할 수 있는 적합한 기반을 갖추고 있으며, 법규 제정에서부터 현장기관의 설치 및 운영 등에 이르기까지 명확성이 구축되지 못한 장애인평생교육 지원체제의 현실적 한계를 개선해 나갈 수 있는 리더십 역시 충분히 갖추고 있다. 이에 따라, 본 연구는 문헌 고찰과 전문가 자문을 통해 대구대학교에서 학제간 융합전공 신설 차원에서 장애인평생교육을 반영할 수 있는 방안과 관련 근거를 연구 내용으로 제시하였다. 학제간 융합전공 신설 차원에서 조망된 장애인평생교육은 특수교육, 재활과학, 사회복지의 세 분야 간에 우선순위적 관점으로 적용되기보다는 세 분야가 공통적으로 접근할 수 있는 전문역량을 통하여 활성화되어야 한다는 관점으로 강조되었다. 연구 결과, 장애인평생교육 지원체제를 구축하지 못한 국내의 경우 특수교육, 재활과학, 사회복지의 학제 간 융합연구가 수월한 대구대학교의 적용 모델 및 방안을 기점으로 점차 관련 타 대학으로 보급 및 확산되어야 한다는 필요성이 시사되었다. 또한, 세 분야 간의 합의를 통하여 장애인평생교육 전문인력의 자격 개발 경로가 체계적으로 구축되어야 할 필요성 역시 시사되었다.
