Study on Sediments' Release for Water Characteristics in Agricultural Reservoirs (농업용저수지의 수질 특성에 따른 퇴적물의 용출 영향 연구)

  • 본 연구는 오염된 농업용 저수지에 대하여 수층에 따른 수질 변화 특성을 조사하고, 저수지 저부의 퇴적물에 대한 용출 실험을 통해 수층별 수질 특성이 퇴적물의 용출에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 수행되었다. 연구 대상 저수지의 선정은 설치년도 1960년대를 기준으로 이전과 이후로 분류하였으며, 주요 오염원을 축산계와 생활계 오염원으로 분류하여 각 다른 특성을 가진 저수지를 선정하여 조사하였다. 내부 오염 부하량이 수체에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 실시한 용출량 실험 결과, 호기 조건에서 축산계오염원 저수지의 T-P가 미미하게 용출이 일어난 것을 제외하고는 생활계, 축산계오염원 저수지에서 용출이 일어나지 않았다. 반면에 혐기 조건의 경우에는 생활계오염원 보다는 축산계오염원 저수지에서, 1960년대 이후 설치된 저수지에서 보다는 1960년대 이전에 설치된 저수지에서 용출이 크게 일어나는 것으로 조사 되었다. 혐기 조건에서 T-N의 경우 생활계오염원과 1960년대 이후 설치된 저수지에서는 용출이 일어나지 않았으나, 그 외의 항목에서는 모두 용출이 일어나는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 혐기조건에서는 모든 연구대상 저수지에서 T-P의 용출이 크게 일어나는 것으로 조사되었는데, 이는 부영양화의 주요 영향인자로 작용할 수 있으므로 저수지 저부의 혐기조건이 형성되는 것을 제어?관리해야 할 필요성이 있다고 하겠다. 연구 저수지에 대한 현장 조사 결과, 가뭄의 영향으로 수위가 평년에 비해 상당히 낮았으며, 저수량의 부족으로 저수지 주변의 바닥이 드러나거나 유출이 없는 등의 특징을 보였다. 수심이 낮은 5~7월의 조사 시기에는 표층의 DO 농도가 높음에도 저층부의 DO 농도는 1.2~2.2 mg/L를 나타내 약혐기조건이 형성됨을 확인하였다. 또한 현장측정기(HYDROLAB_Quanta)를 이용한 DO측정시, 저층부 퇴적물의 재부유를 막기 위해 저층경계면에서 30~50cm 윗부분을 측정했다는 점에서 저층부 바닥면의 DO 농도가 더 낮을 수 있다고 추정할 수 있다. 이는 이 시기에 퇴적층에 존재하는 오염물질의 용출이 충분히 일어날 수 있으며, 이후 8~11월에 수계 내 환란 및 순환에 의해 오염물질이 수중으로 이동하게 되고, 수질을 악화시키는 원인으로 작용할 수 있음을 추론할 수 있다. 이와 같이 퇴적되어 있던 오염물질이 계속적으로 용출 및 순환을 해마다 반복한다면 해당 저수지는 장기간 수질 오염 저수지가 될 수밖에 없을 것이다. 따라서 이러한 내부오염부하가 크다고 판단되는 저수지에 대하여 오염퇴적물의 관리가 필요하다고 하겠다.

  • 인산염을 이용한 구리 고정화 실험의 토양적용가능성을 평가하고자 액상반응실험과 고정화물의 재용출 실험을 수행하였다. 액상반응실험 결과 인산염과 알칼리제 1mole을 넣은 반응에서 99.9% 의 구리제거효율을 보였고 구리의 재용출 농도는 0.64mg/L로 초기농도인 1000mg/L보다 현저히 낮은 값을 나타내었다.

Predictive Factors of Major Adverse Cardiac Events after Drug-Eluting Balloon Angioplasty for In-Stent Restenosis Lesion (스텐트 내 재협착 병변에서 약물용출 풍선확장술 후 주요 심장사건 발생의 예측인자)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the predictors of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients with drug-eluting balloon (DEB) for in-stent restenosis (ISR) lesion. Total of 257 patients who developed ISR on follow-up coronary angiography (66.1 ± 10.1years, 172 males) in Chonnam National University Hospital between October 2012 and January 2017 were enrolled. We divided the patients into two groups; group I (MACE group; n= 35) and group II (No MACE group; n= 222). A multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that type IV ISR (HR=4.179, 95% C.I.=1.851-9.437 p= 0.001), lesion length > 25 mm (HR=8.773, 95% C.I.=1.898-40.546 p=0.005), number of ISR recurrence > 2 (HR=4.693, 95% C.I.=1.259-17.490 p= 0.021) were independent factors for MACE after DEB in ISR lesions.

Immobilization of Arsenic in Tailing using the Hydmgen-Peroxide (과산화수소를 이용한 광미중 비소의 불용화)

  • It is difficult to remedy tailings and soils including arsenic because arsenic compounds show anionic behaviour in natural condition and have chemical diversity by Eh/pH. This study was carried out to develop immobilization method of arsenic and iron in tailings and soils into ferric arsenate using hydrogen peroxide. According to experimental results, concentrations of arsenic and iron extracted from tailing of closed Gubong mine were reduced up to 84% and 93%, respectively. in this experiment. arsenic concentration decreased with an increase of hydrogen peroxide dosage. It was also showed that only 10% of arsenic and 20% of iron were extracted from the re-extraction experiments. Therefore, soil and tailing remedied by this method will be able to maintain long-time stability.

  • 그라우팅은 건설공사에서 지반의 갈라진 틈이나 공동, 공극 등에 적절한 충전재를 압력을 이용하여 주입하는 것으로, 굴착공사 시 누수방지와 불안정한 지반의 보강을 위하여 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 그라우팅 주입재의 재료로는 물유리계를 주재료로 사용하는 약액주입공법이 많이 사용되어지고 있다. 기존의 물유리계 재료를 사용할 경우 발생하는 용출현상 및 강도저하를 보완하기 위하여 가소성을 부과한 무기질계 재료ECG(Eco Clean Grouting)를 사용하여, 강도 및 내구성이 우수하고 주입재의 용출 현상이 발생하지 않아 환경오염 문제가 거의 없는 영구적인 차수 및 보강에 적합한지와 친환경적 특성을 확인한다. 본 연구는 가소성 무기질계 재료인 ECG(Eco Clean Grouting)재료를 사용하여 현재 많이 사용되는 재료인 물유리계 재료로 일축압축강도, 체적변화, 내구성 평가, 투수시험, 어독성 시험, 용탈시험등을 수행하여 비교 분석 하였다. 일축압축 시험결과 재령 28일 강도는 ECG가 물유리재료에 비해 크게 발현되었고, 내화학성시험 결과 ECG의 길이변화율이 거의 없는 것으로 내화학성에서 강점을 보였다.

Biological and Antifungal Activity of Herbal Plant Extracts against Candida Species (수종의 한약재 추출물의 항산화 활성 및 항진균 활성)

  • Anticandidial activity of seven herbal extracts, Taraxacum Platycarpum, Houttuyniae Herba, Lonicerae Flos, Anemarrhena Rhizome, Forsythia Fruit, Paeoniae Ratix, and Coptidis Rhizoma, were determined against five different Candida sp. by agar diffusion assay. The concentration of total phenolic compounds of seven herbal extracts ranged from 0.6 to $2.5{\mu}g/mg$. The total antioxidant activities showed that Taraxacum Platycarpum and Houttuyniae Herba were 60% in 80% ethanol extract and Lonicera Flower and Paeoniae Ratix were 70, 75%, respectively, in 100% ethanol extract. Coptidis Rhizoma extract showed antifungal activity against non-Candida albicans, C. tropicalis and C. glabrata. The MIC values of a compound separated in TLC from Coptidis Rhizoma extract were 24, and $48{\mu}g/mL$ against C. tropicalis and C. glabrata. The above compound showed the same retention time with berberin in HPLC analysis.

A Study on Distribution of the Contaminated Sediments in Lake Paldang (팔당호의 오염퇴적물 분포 조사)

  • Status of the contaminated sediments in Lake Paldang was investigated. Sediment samples were taken at 34 points and analyzed in terms of ignition loss, CODer, total P and total N. The contamination level did not show any significant variation with depth of the sediments, which indicated the contaminants were recalcitrant. The type of P in the sediment was analyzed, and the sum of adsorbed P and NAI-P, that can be re-solubilized under the reductive condition, was found to be 20-30% of the total P. From the analysis of the water quality change along with the flowing path, it would be concluded that the effect of the sediments on the water quality is insignificant yet in Lake Paldang. However, long term analysis covering at least four seasons should be continued in order to get a more reliable conclusion. A depth profile map of the sediment in Lake Paldang was provided.

Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery Versus Drug Eluting Stent for Multi-vessel Coronary Artery Disease (다혈관 관상동맥질환에서의 심폐바이패스를 사용하지 않은 관상동맥우회술과 약물용출 스텐트시술)

  • Background: The introduction of Drug Eluting Stents (DES) decreased the number of patients referred for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). The impact of DES on CABG (Step 1) was studied and compared with the 1-year outcome after CABG with DES (Step 2). Material and Method: Surgical results for patients who underwent off-pump CABG (OPCAB) before the introduction of DES(n=298) were compared with those who underwent OPCAB after the introduction of DES (n=288) (Step 1). Postoperative 30-day and 1-year results were also compared between the patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using DES (n=220) and those who underwent OPCAB (n=255) (Step 2). Result: Since the introduction of DES, the ratio of CABG versus PCI decreased. In the CABG group, the number of high risk patients such as elderly patients (age 62 vs. 64, p=0.023), those with chronic renal failure (4% vs. 9%, p=0.021), calcification of the ascending aorta (9% vs. 15%, p=0.043), or frequency of urgent or emergent operations (12% vs. 22%, p=0.002) increased. However, there were no differences in the cardiac death and graft patency rates between the two groups (step 1). During the one-year follow up period, the rate of target vessel revascularization (12.3% vs. 2.4%, p<0.001) and major adverse cardiac events (MACE: death, myocardial infarct, TVR) were higher in the DES than the CABG group (13.6% vs 4.3%) (stage 2). Conclusion: Introduction of DES decreased the number of patients referred for surgery, and increased the comorbidity in patients who underwent CABG. DES increased the rate of target vessel revascularization, and the occurrence of MACE during the 1-year follow-up. However, there was no difference in the incidence of myocardial infarction and cardiac death between the two groups.

A Study on the Durability and Environmentally Friendly of Inorganic Grouting Material (무기질계 지반주입재의 내구성 및 친환경적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Inorganic injection material, which is one of the ground improvement materials, consists of cement accelerator and inorganic micro particle. The inorganic injection material is known to overcome the major limitations of water glass type improvement materials, which are leaching and accompanying strength loss. The inorganic injection material is superior in durability and strength, and environmentally friendly since leaching is prevented. In this study, the effectiveness and environment-friendliness of the MIS(Micro Injection-process System) using the inorganic injection material is compared to SGR, which uses the water glass. The performed tests were unconfined compression test, chemical resistance test, and fish poison test. The unconfined compression tests showed that the MIS results in 1.7 times higher 28 day strength compared to the SGR. In addition, the strength continually increased with time for the MIS, while it decreased for the SGR. The chemical resistance tests indicated that the rate of change in length using the MIS is 10~25 times smaller than when using the SGR. The fish poison test proved that MIS was more environmentally friendly. The analysis of chemical ingredients of leached showed that the amount of $Cr^{6+}$, Pb and Si leached from the MIS is less compared to the SGR. Accordingly, the MIS grout is more high-strength than existing SGR grout. It is excellent in shortening of construction period, structural stability of foundation and environmentally friendly. So, it is considered that it has not little the problem about groundwater pollution.

Impact of Thickness of Sand Capping on Phosphorus Release Rate from Sediment (모래 캡핑 두께가 퇴적물 인 용출에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was carried out to understand the impacts of thickness of sand capping to control phosphorus release from sediment into overlying water. As capping effectively retards release flux, phosphorus concentration in water body can be maintained if phosphorus release rate was kept under microbial degradation rate. With capping thickness increases, deaeration rate become less, while reaeration coefficient become higher. Phosphorus release rate and capping thickness were linearly correlated. The results of regression analysis indicated that phosphorus release can be controlled effectively by sand capping of least 20${\sim}$40 mm thickness.
