  • The aim of 4G mobile communication systems is to connect arbitrary devices to high-speed network anytime, anywhere. Cellular system must solve the problem of inter-cell interference caused by frequency reuse for meeting needs of 4G. In this paper, to solve interference problem we propose the algorithm, the so-called Threshold-Based Region Decision (TBRD) and analyze characteristics and performance of the proposed algorithm through simulation. The proposed technique has high applicability and flexibility due to simple construction using only existing UE measurement, and achieves performance improvement through the threshold that can be easily controlled.

  • We divide networks of an organization into internal network and external network to distribute the load of web server, and allocate separate web server for each network. The performance of web server for internal networks can be affected seriously by RTO(Retransmission Timeout). The value of RTO set by default in the OS of an web server is so large that it degrades the performance of web server. Therefore, this paper suggests not useing but applying conventional algorithm to calculate RTO, but to apply newly controlled value of RTO, and it showed improvement of the performance of web server.

  • 정보화 산업의 발달은 DRAM, flash memory 등을 포함한 기존의 반도체 메모리 소자를 대체할 수 있는 차세대 메모리 소자에 대한 개발을 요구하고 있다. 특히 magnetic random access memory (MRAM)는 SRAM과 대등한 고속화 그리고 DRAM 보다 높은 기록 밀도가 가능하고 낮은 동작 전압과 소비전력 때문에 대표적인 차세대 비휘발성 메모리로 주목받고 있다. 또한 MRAM소자의 고집적화를 위해서 우수한 프로파일을 갖고 재증착이 없는 나노미터 크기의 magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) stack의 건식 식각에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 고밀도 반응성 이온 식각법(Inductively coupled plasma reactive ion etching; ICPRIE)을 이용하여 재증착이 없이 우수한 식각 profile을 갖는 CoFeB과 IrMn 박막을 형성하고자 하였다. Photoresist(PR) 및 Ti 박막의 두 가지 마스크를 이용하여 HBr/Ar, HBr/$O_2$/Ar 식각 가스들의 농도를 변화시키면서 CoFeB과 IrMn 박막의 식각 특성들이 조사되었다. 자성 박막과 동일한 조건에 대하여 hard mask로서 Ti가 식각되었다. 좋은 조건을 얻기 위해 HBr/Ar 식각 가스를 이용 식각할 때 pressure, bias voltage, rf power를 변화시켰고 식각조건에서 Ti 하드마스크에 대한 자성 박막들의 selectivity를 조사하고 식각 profile을 관찰하였다. 식각 속도를 구하기 위해 alpha step(Tencor P-1)이 사용되었고 또한 field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)를 이용하여 식각 profile을 관찰함으로써 최적의 식각 가스와 식각 조건을 찾고자 하였다.

  • In recent years, the functions added ta an embedded system have grown various and complex in most parts of the applications. Embedded software comes to include more functions and is getting bigger. Therefore it is getting difficult for software developers to keep the development time to market on time. This leads to a need for adequate design and test technique for embedded software. In this paper, we propose a software architecture style for embedded software. It facilitates the composition of reusable functions and helps developers reduce development time. We also propose a test method and tools for embedded software running on target systems.

  • In this thesis, we implemented the prototype system for the class code generator based on consistent code generation process and standard type, the class to be component unit. Particularly, we proposed relationship rule to solve the difficult problem by the object-oriented language to association and aggregation between classes based on component, through this method we can make to consistent code generation standard. Also it is adopted to component model construction which is generated code using code generation, and it can be basic assembly and deployment of business components to reusable target in developing application system.

Development of C/SiC Composite Parts for Rocket Propulsion (로켓 추진기관용 C/SiC 내열부품 개발)

  • C/SiC composites were developed by a liquid silicon infiltration(LSI) method for use as heat-resistant parts of solid and liquid rocket propulsion engines. The heat resistance characteristics according to the composition ratio (carbon / silicon / silicon carbide) were evaluated by specimen test through arc plasma, supersonic torch test. An ablation equation for oxidation reactions was presented. Through the combustion test it was verified that various parts such as nozzle insert, exit cone and combustion chamber heat resistant parts for rocket propulsion can be manufactured and proved high ablation performance and thermal structure performance.

  • 최근들어 MPSoC 프로그래밍 방법에 대한 많은 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 예전부터 연구가 진행된 모델 기반 프로그래밍 접근이나 UML 같은 모델기반 언어부터 최근에 많이 연구되고 있는 MPI[1] 나 OpenMP[2] 기반의 프로그래밍 방법, 그리고 그 외에도 다양한 접근 방식의 방법론이 연구되어 있다. 하지만 현재까지 대부분의 연구는 최종 결과물이 C 언어 형태로 나오게 되어 있다. 즉 MPSoC 환경을 위한 컴파일러가 따로 제작되어야 하고 이 점은 다양한 이종 MPSoC 환경이 존재한다는 점에서 컴파일러 제작에 많은 부담이 발생한다. 본 논문 본인이 이전에 연구했던 MPSoC 프로그래밍 플랫폼과 플랫폼에서 사용되는 입력 정보의 형태를 설명한다. 그리고 입력정보 형태를 변형하여 재겨냥성(retargetable) 컴파일러와 연동이 가능하게 하여 최종 결과물을 바이너리 형태로 생성할 수 있도록 한다.

A Study on the pH Reduction of Controlled Low Strength Material with Coal Ash (석탄회를 활용한 CLSM의 pH 저감에 관한 연구)

  • Controlled low strength material(CLSM) is produced by mixing portland cement, fine aggregates, water and chemical admixtures. Sand is the most commonly used as the fine aggregates in the conventional CLSM. It is getting more and more difficult to obtain sand in Korea so it is required that the alternative materials be developed as the replacement of sand. Since the engineering characteristics of coal ash are similar to the sand, it becomes necessary to examine the application of the coal ash as the alternative material for CLSM and as the environment-friendly material. When the results meet the optimum pH level that plants can live, it can be expanded the scale of application of the study on the plant as the important field. This study was subjected to present the method to reduce the pH range of CLSM to a suitable condition that plants can survive. To verify this method, the care of neutralization was conducted by immersing the specimen to Ammonium monohydrogen phosphate. Before curing and neutralization, the maximum pH of developmental CLSM is approximately 11. However, the pH value of developmental CLSM has under 9.5 after peaceful curing and neutralization management.

Development of RFID for Automatic Radiopharmaceuticals Preparation System (방사성 의약품 자동합성 장치용 RFID 시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, an RFID system for the automatic preparation system of positron emission tomography (PET) radiopharmaceuticals is developed. Since the preparation system uses radioactive isotope, the preparation system is generally placed in lead-shielded hot-cell. Disposable cassettes including tubes and valves are used in the preparation system, since they are easily contaminated by radioactivity during preparation of radiopharmaceuticals. Currently, a system for preventing re-use of the cassette and managing the information about the preparation precess and result independently from the PC which control the preparation system is highly required for preventing danger from the radiation accident. Since RFID can store and re-write relatively large amount of information, it is suitable for the purpose. However, it is hard to read multiple cassettes' information using antennas installed on the metallic surfaces with current RFID systems. For the problem, we improve RFID system in two directions. First, the interface of the RFID reader is changed then it is possible that multiple readers can be daisy-chained. Also, antenna is tuned while inserting in a metallic coated antenna case, then the effect from the metallic surface of the preparation system is minimized. The test result using the developed system shows that the developed RFID system can read multiple tags using the antennas which are attached on the metallic surface.

  • Volcanic ash has been predicted to be the main source of damage caused by a potential volcanic disaster around Mount Baekdu and the regions of the Korean peninsula. Computer simulations to predict the diffusion of volcanic ash should be performed according to prevalent meteorological situations within a predetermined time. Therefore, a workflow using pipelining is proposed to parallelize the software used for this computation. Due to the nature of volcanic calamities, the simulations need to be carried out for various plausible conditions given that the parameters cannot be precisely determined during the simulations, even at the time of a volcanic eruption. Among the given conditions, computations need to be first performed for the condition with the highest probability so that a response to the volcanic disaster can be provided using these results. Further action can then be performed later based on subsequent results. The computations need to be performed using a volcanic disaster damage prediction system on a computing server with limited computing performance. Hence, an optimal distribution of the computing resources is required. We propose a method through which specific data can be provided first to the proposed pipeline-based workflow.
