  • Due to the increasing demand for wearable devices and miniaturization of various electronic devices, the trend of nanofabrication in IT devices is underway. In order to overcome the limitations of battery size and capacity, there has been a lot of research interest in energy harvesting technology, also known as triboelectric nanogenerator. AAO(Anodic Aluminum oxide) coated with fluoride is a structure that includes an anode layer with high properties in the triboelectric series, an dielectric layer that helps transfer the triboelectrically generated charges to the electrode without loss, and the electrode. For these reasons, AAO has been a lot of research on its application to frictional energy harvesting nanogenerators. In this work, we analyzed the correlation of AAO between the surface morphology and thickness of the insulating layer by utilizing aluminum oxide, which is advantageous for the application of triboelectric nanogenerators, and adjusting the thickness of the insulating layer.

Effect of Meteorological Condition during Ripening on the Grain Shattering of Rice Plant (등숙기 기상조건이 벼알의 탈립성에 미치는 영향)

  • Environmental factors are known in general to influence much on the development of abscission layer and thereby on shedding of plant parts. The present study was carried out to determine the effect of meterological condition during ripening on the grain shatterability of rice plants at harvest. Different meteorological conditions were obtained by shifting transplanting timing of 40 days old rice seedlings 4 times with a 15 days-interval. Grain shatterability was measured as tensile strength of rice grains: it varied within a range of 214g. to 251g. in a practically non-shattering Japonica variety'Jinheung' and l27.5g. to 204g. in an easy shattering Indica \times Japonica progeny variety'Taeback'. In view of field loss of rice, the variation in tensile strength with time of transplanting and harvest did not matter in Jinheung, but was an important factor in Taeback. In Taeback the tensile strength was significantly correlated positively with mean, maximum and minimum air temperature and relative humidity during a certain period of grain ripening, especially during 30 days period before harvest, but diurnal range of air temperature showed a significant, negative correlation with it. The tensile strength seemed to be more closely related with min. air temperature than max. air temperature, and it was not significantly correlated with radiation amount during any period of pre-harvest. Meteorological effect on grain shatterability may vary with variety, but temperature regime during ripening appears to play major role among the meteorological factors in easy shattering and more thermophilic Indica \times Japonica varieties: lower the temperature, greater the shatterability.

Quality Characteristics of Cookies Prepared with Flour Partly Substituted by Used Coffee Grounds (커피추출 잔여물을 첨가한 쿠키의 품질 특성)

  • We investigated the quality characteristics of cookies prepared after addition of various concentrations of used coffee grounds (0%, 1%, 3%, and 5%, all w/w) as a substitute for flour. As coffee grounds concentration rose, decrease in the pH of cookie dough was evident. In terms the water-holding capacity of dough, cookies prepared 3% (w/w) coffee grounds yielded the highest value. With an increase in coffee grounds concentration, the color a value rose, but the L and b values fell. The gelatinization temperature became higher, but both peak viscosity and 15 min-height values declined. The spread and loss ratios decreased but the leavening rate rose significantly with elevation of coffee grounds concentration. The hardness of cookies rose but slightly, as coffee grounds concentration rose. Upon sensory evaluation of all of appearance, flavor, and overall preference, cookies prepared with addition of used coffee grounds were superior to those without grounds, whereas those prepared using 1%-3%(w/w) coffee grounds showed the highest overall acceptability. Thus cookies made using coffee grounds can be economically competitive. In addition, the ingredients of coffee powder and used coffee grounds were shown to be very similar, except that coffee grounds contain 15-fold less caffeine than dose coffee powder. As health concerns are popular today, the use of coffee grounds to manufacture processed food may be acceptable.

Quality Characteristics and Dough Rheological Properties of Pan Bread with Perilla Seed Powder (들깨분말을 첨가한 식빵의 레올로지 및 품질특성)

  • This study investigates perilla seed powder substituted for wheat flour in bread recipes with the amounts of 0%(control), 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Perilla seed powder consists of 9.41% of moisture content, 9.14% of crude protein, 1.12% of crude fat, and 2.97% of crude ash. Sedimentation value and pelshenke value have decreased as the perilla content increased. The farinograph measurement result of the bread made with perilla seed powder showed that consistency, water absorption and tolerance index have increased as the perilla content increased. The amylograph measurement result of the bread made with perilla seed powder showed that T, P, H, F, P-H and F-H have decreased as the perilla content increased. Baking loss and specific loaf volume have decreased as the perilla content increased. The chromatic 'L' and 'b' values were reduced as more perilla was added to more pan bread, while the chromatic 'a' value increased. The texture measurement result showed that the hardness of bread have increased as the ingredient contents increased. Their cohesiveness, spinginess, and chewiness have decreased as the ingredient contents increased. Overall preference scores showed a high preference for the bread made with 15% perilla seed powder.

  • Steel fiber is high stiffness and large weight. So, Pumping hose to rupture of the safety management is difficult. Steel fiber caused by corrosion of the deterioration of durability and high-rebound losses are needed for the improvements. Thus, the revised regulations in 2009 by a steel fiber to reinforce other materials is possible. Variety of fiber reinforcement material for concrete review of applicability is needed. Steel fiber strength than the other fibers is large and by the geometry of the fibers are attached to improve performance. However, compared to steel fiber organic fibers and low modulus of elasticity and tensile strength of fiber and agglomeration occurs in the concrete to be used as reinforcement material is difficult. In this regard, the present study as a single object in the micro-fiber bouquet sharp entanglement through make muck attach surface area, distributed fibers from surfactant of the surface enhanced polyamide fibers, steel fiber and PP fiber reinforced concrete by comparing the scene to provide a basis for the use.

Effects of Excess Lead Addition on Sol-Gel Derived ($Pb_{0.9}La_{0.1}$)$Ti_{0.975}O_3$(PLT (10)) Thin Film

  • In order to study electric properties of (Pb$\_$0.9/La$\_$0.1/)Ti$\_$0.975/O$_3$(PLT (10)) films with varying excess lead concentration (7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 ㏖% excess lead), the PLT films were deposited by sol-gel process. DTA analyses reveal that the crystallization temperature of the precursor powers decreased with increasing amount of excess lead. XRD patterns of PLT reveal pure perovskite structure and the preferred orientation increased with increasing Pb content in the films. With increasing amount of excess P$\_$b/, the relative permittivity ($\xi$$\_$r/) increased and leakage current density at 100 ㎸/cm transformed 4.01$\times$10$\^$-5/, 2.42$\times$10$\^$-6/, 1.27$\times$10$\^$-6/, 1.56$\times$10$\^$-6/A/㎠ respectively. In the results of hysteresis loops measured at 166 kV/cm, the remanent polarization (P$\_$r/) and the coercive field (E$\_$c) are 6.36$\mu$C/cm and 58.7 ㎸/cm, respectively (at 12.5 ㏖% excess P$\_$b/) With increasing amount of excess Pb, the remanent polarization for PLT thin film degraded to about 44%, 27%, 15%, 16% of the initial value after 10$\^$9/ cycles./TEX>) With increasing amount of excess Pb, the remanent polarization for PLT thin film degraded to about 44%, 27%, 15%, 16% of the initial value after $10^{9}$ cycles.

CHEMICAL DEGRADATION OF VARIOUS COMPOMERS IN NaOH (콤포머의 NaOH 용액 내에서의 화학적 분해)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the resistance to degradation of three commercial compomers in an alkaline solution. Dyract(Dentsply), Elan(Kerr) and F-2000(3M) polyacid modified resin composites(compomers) were used in this study. The resistance to degradation was evaluated on the basis of mass loss(%), degradation $depth({\mu}m)$ and Si, Al, Ba loss(ppm). The results were as follows : 1. The mass loss of each brand was $1.42%{\sim}2.14%$ and there was no statistically significant difference of mass loss among Dyract, F2000 and Elan. 2. The degradation layer depth of each brand was $182.92{\sim}227.7{\mu}m$ and there was no statistically significant difference of degradation layer depth among Dyract, F2000 and Elan. 3. There was statistically significant differences in Si-loss and Al-loss among three compomers (p<0.05). Si loss was the highest value in Dyract and Al loss was the highest value in F2000. 4. There was statistically significant correlation between mass loss and degradation layer depth (r=0.60, p<0.05). 5. In SEM finding, there was some destruction of compomer matrix-filler interface in post-exposure specimen to NaOH solution. As the matrix decreased, the filler particles distinguished and the periphery of the filler particles appeared whitish color due to degradation.

  • There is the uncertain period of the construction in case of the products meeting the quality standard of KS M 6080, the quality is degraded because of the abrasive loss of the paint caused by vehicle tires as the traffic amount increases and of the loss and detachment of the glass beads providing the retroreflective function. The abrupt degradation of visibility causes the high frequency of traffic accidents at night and increases the traffic accident rate. Additional supplementary construction induces the direct material and construction costs. As the more cost induction effect than the direct cost, the traffic jam caused by the additional construction increases the indirect social costs such as time cost and vehicle cost. Hence, the study is concerned with performing the abrasion resistance test based on the EN 1436 standard to check and improve the quality of various road marking materials resulting in improving the durability of road marking materials. However, even though the difference in the durability lifetime of resins(binders) is bibliographically or theoretically clear, there was no difference in the durability lifetime (retroreflectivity aspect) of the road marking paint using these binders. The reason is that the bonding of beads was very insufficient or that the cross density caused by crack or freshness was low. Moreover, the measured wet retroreflectivity was distributed as the Rw3 or higher class in average on the basis of EN 1436 but was very insufficient on the basis of the minimum wet threshold retroreflectivity with 100mcd/($m^2{\cdot}lx$) managed overseas.

Improvement of Field Installation Method for Asphalt Concrete Pavement Strain Gauge (아스팔트 콘크리트 포장 변형률계 매설 방법 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The KHC Test Road project was initiated on 1991 to develop Korean Pavement Design Guide. It was constructed along the Joongbu Inland Expressway line between Yeoju and Gamgok. It is two-lane wide expressway containing fifteen asphalt and twenty-five Portland cement concrete test pavement sections. Various sensors were installed in the Test Road to evaluate the behavior of test pavement sections under the influence of traffic load and environmental change. The most important issues in the sensor installation are the accurate location and long-term survivability. They are directly influenced by the sensor installation methodology. The methodology for asphalt strain gages is mainly discussed in this paper because it is the second important sensors in the KHC Test Road project. In order to find the best methodology, we evaluated existing methodology from prior experience and several conducted test installations. We have tried mound, block out, and trench cuts since 2000. Among three methods, block out was the most effective one in terms of accurate location, long-term survivability, and material homogeneity. However, this method cannot be applied to the wearing coarse so that the mound method was used as an alternative. The block out method was applied to base and intermediate layers while the mound method was used to the wearing coarse. Three hundred seventy-four asphalt strain gauges were installed on asphalt pavement sections from September 3rd to November 18th in 2002. According to the sensor measurement evaluation, 6.3% of sensor demonstrated over ranged readings for mound method installation and 2.5% did for block out method installation. We lost only two sensors during the installation. It is 99.5% survival and it is excellent survival rate according to other experience.

  • A study was carried out to improve the field implementation of asphalt surface reinforcement method which is a preventive maintenance. Mean Texture Depth (MTD) was measured to quantify the surface condition and used to determine the optimum application rate. Determining the application rate using MTD can reduce the material loss from 30% to 15%. In order to reduce the curing time to 30 minutes, the heat capacity of $317kcal/m^2$ is required. Therefore, the design capacity of the heating curing device requires more than 380,000 kcal/hr. The asphalt surface reinforcement method is preferably applied at a time when slight cracking occurs before the permanent deformation becomes serious. Through the analysis of the pavement survey data, it was decided to apply the surface reinforcement method at the crack rate of 3~4%. Heating the surface reinforcement agent to $50^{\circ}C$ improves workability and ensures sufficient penetration depth even at a crack width of 1 mm. The results will be utilized as basic data for the development of automated construction equipment for efficiency improvement.
