  • The construction industry in Korea has seen significant improvements in quality management techniques, driven by the dramatic development of new technology through Manhattanization and enlargements, but compared with technical development, the level of building quality improvement is still lagging behind. In the meantime, as the interest in construction quality soars due to changes in user consciousness, the level of quality that is being demanded is rising. The government has reinforced quality systems by implementing responsible supervision requirements and granting overseas companies permission to enter the supervision business in Korea, and private sector companies also are attempting quality improvement through quality assurance approaches like the preliminary qualification screening system and ISO 9000 series. But currently, building constructions are done only according to the construction specifications of project owners, whose design, materials and construction methods are already decided, and do not leave any necessity or opportunity for technical developments for the quality improvement of contractors. Therefore, in this study, a work process and system improvement plan for payment regulations is proposed, with which contractors can secure quality voluntarily in the building construction phase.

  • The successful completion of a construction project requires a thorough understanding of all stages and phases of the project, and enhanced through integration of design and construction during the pre-construction stage. Constructability is a major factor in measuring the success or failure of construction project. During the pre-construction stage, lack of construction knowledge integration in the planning and design process is a major factor that leads to constructability problems during the construction stage. this study is to find out such problems based on interview and questionnaire in the structure's work of High-Rise Office Buildings. The objective of this study is to Identify Impact aspect of the structure's work of High-Rise Office Buildings.

  • The importance of LCC analysis has been enlarged. Also, it would be necessary to computerize LCC analysis for accurate and logical analysis of LCC. In other papers, they showed LCC analysis model but the study of database development which could be applied in LCC analysis have been undeveloped. As a result, the final goal of this study is to develope LCC database. And this progress is devided 4 steps as design, construction, maintenance and disposal and derived the detailed cost item in the progresses. Futhermore, it would be possible to develope cost DB, fluent DB, general DB, building section DB, material DB and to propose database which would be applied in accurate and logical analysis of LCC.

Comparison of Curriculums of Dental Hygiene Education Programs for B. S Degree (학사치과위생사 양성을 위한 교육과정 비교연구)

  • The objective of this research was to analyze curriculum of dental hygiene education program for B.S degree in US and compare with Korea and Japan. The curriculum was classified six domain based on job classification and National Board Examination in Korea. Oral biology content included oral anatomy,dental anatomy,oral histology,oral pathology. Oral physiology was excluded. Clinical dentistry content included only oral radiology, periodontics, dental material,pain control. Most program integrated clinical dental hygiene courses. Most program provided dental practice management content and dental hygiene research courses. Diverse program such as A.S degree,B.S degree,degree completion,distance education programs enabled students to develop their career effectively.

  • 하천 유사량 특성 분석은 하천유역 내의 수리구조물 설계 및 유지관리, 하천개수 및 하도의 안정, 홍수터 관리, 저수지 설계 및 운영 등 수자원 개발 및 관리를 위한 하천계획의 필요한 요소 중 하나이며 현장 측정에서 분석까지 정밀한 일련의 과정을 통해서 알아낼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 6개 지점(여주, 왜관, 진동, 공주, 나주, 구례2)에 대해 유사량 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 부유사량은 강우가 집중되는 홍수기(왕복수심적분법; D-74측정장비 / 표면채취법)를 중심으로 측정하였고 하상토의 경우는 Grab Sampler(60L), 선격자법 등을 이용하여 홍수기 전 후로 2회 채취하였다. 채취된 시료는 특성에 따라 여과법(부유사농도), BW관법(부유사입도분포), 체분석법(하상토입도분포)으로 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 산정된 평균 부유사농도, Oden Curve와 입도분포곡선 및 수리량(수위, 유속, 측정수심, 수면폭, 수면경사, 수온)등의 자료를 이용하여 총유사량(Modified Einstein 방법)을 추정하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.: 1) 유량-부유사량 및 총유사량 관계: 유량-부유사량의 관계에 있어 대체적으로 일관된 경향성이 나타났으며 총유사량과의 관계 역시 부유사량과 비슷한 경향성을 보임. 일부 성과의 경우, 총유사량과의 관계에 있어 Modified Einstein 조건의 불충족(자갈하상재료 또는 저유속)으로 부유사량과 동일추정이거나 추정불가 및 이상치가 나타남. 2) 유량-부유사량 특성: 전체적으로 루프현상을 보이며 초기 강우 사상에서는 더 많은 유사량이 발생하는데 이는 초기 강우에 의해 유사 이송이 활발하게 이루어지는 일반적인 특성임. 또한 수위 상승-하강에 따른 부유사량 자료가 더욱더 확보된다면 수위 상승과 하강부로 구분하여 분석하는 것도 의의가 있을 것으로 판단됨. 3) 유량-유사량관계식 개발: 개발된 관계식은 총유사량이 아닌 부유사량으로 개발되었으며, 측정성과들 간의 상관계수가 0.9723(구례2 지점) ~ 0.8490(나주 지점)으로 분석됨. 또한 개발된 관계식에 대한 신뢰도 분석을 실시하지 않았기 때문에 적용 시에는 주의가 요구됨.

  • Because structural systems are becoming lighter and more flexible and have lower natural frequencies and dampings than before, coordinated rhythmic activities such as dancing, audience participation in arenas or concert halls, and aerobics result in undesirable levels of vibration. For rhythmic activities, it is resonant or near resonant behavior that result in significant dynamic amplification and hence human discomfort. The most rational design strategy is to provide enough of a gap between the natural frequency of a floor system and the dominant frequencies excited by planned human activities to assure reasonably that resonance will not occur. For the case study the vibration measurements were performed at the floor of a long-span multi-purpose hall during the rock concert of popular singer.

A case Study on Collapse Causes and Restoration of Retaining Wall with Vegetated Concrete Block (식생블록 옹벽의 붕괴원인 및 복구방안에 관한 사례 연구)

  • This paper describes a restoration of retaining wall, which was collapsed by rainfall. The failure causes was analyzed by field case, and then the countermeasure was suggested. The failure causes confirmed that observance of design and construction criteria was insufficient. It also was the climate condition like a rainfall and inappropriate construction management. The stability analysis for retaining wall, soil improvement and reinforced earth wall was conducted to confirm validity of the countermeasure. The analysis results showed that the suggested construction method satisfied in required safety factors. Therefore, it should be secured the stability of the structure based on the application of appropriate design method and construction management, when structure was constructed.

  • 최근 국내외에서 자동차 연비와 성능 향상을 위하여 고부가가치 자동변속기의 개발이 적극적으로 추진되고 있다. 특히, 유럽(ZF)과 일본(JATCO, AISIN)을 비롯한 변속기 부품의 기술선진국에서는 전자빔 용접을 적용한 고부가가치 자동변속기 제품이 개발되어 다양한 고급차 모델에 적용되고 있으며 2010년까지 8속 자동변속기를 출시할 예정으로 개발을 추진하고 있다. 이러한 자동변속기를 개발하기 위하여 부품의 성형 및 가공정밀도 관리가 중요하며, 최종 조립되는 부품의 전처리(연질화처리, 탈지, 이물질 제거등)와 용접시 용접변형을 최소화하기 위한 공정조건의 엄격한 관리가 요구되고 있다. 변속기 부품으로 사용되는 소재는 성형성 확보를 위한 연질재(SPCC)와 강도를 확보하기 위한 고강도강(SAPH400, SPFH590)으로 서로 다른 두께의 재질이 조립되어 최종단계에서 용접공정에 의해 제작되고 있다. 특히, 연질재는 복잡한 형상으로 성형한 다음, 가공을 거쳐 경화를 위한 연질화처리가 요구되기 때문에 건전한 용접을 하기 위해서는 용접면에 접한 연질화 처리부는 연질화 처리재가 잔존하지 않도록 완전한 제거할 필요가 있다. 만약 전처리 공정에서 충분한 세척과 가공품의 정도관리가 확보되지 않으면 전자빔 용접시 고온에서 이물질 증발과 잔류, 스패터 발생등에 의한 용접부 결함발생이나 용접변형으로 인하여 제품불량이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최종 조립공정인 용접작업시 발생되는 결함을 방지하고 이 두께 및 이종소재의 전자빔 용접비드 형상(비드 폭, 용입깊이)을 최적화 함으로서 용접부 변형을 최소화하고 충분한 강도를 확보하고자 전자빔 용접전류와 속도에 따른 비드형상을 비교검토 하고자 하였다. 그리고 실차적용시 신뢰성을 확보하기 위하여 전자빔 용접한 자동차 변속기 부품의 비틀림 시험을 실시하였으며 전자빔 용접 전, 후의 변형량을 측정하여 변속기 부품으로서의 적용성을 검증하고자 하였다.

  • The structures that use the bridge plates are considered to have advantages such as short work term, excellent economical efficiency and low maintenance cost. Bridge plates are being widely used for water ducts and eco-corridors as replacements of reinforced concrete ducts. Bridge plates are deep and have greater pitch as compare to conventionally deep corrugated steel plate. They are expected to be increasingly used in the future. The structures that use bridge plates have two forms, such as arch type and box type. The arch type structures are designed based on the compressive strength, and the box type structures, based on the moment in the plate member. In this study, the ultimate strength and moment strength of the connection part of the specimens were examined by their thickness. Static and bending tests used to evaluate the performance of bridge plate. Finally, These results were used in the design process.

Techniques for Characterizing Surface Deterioration of Epoxy Exposed to Ozone Damage (오존에 노출된 에폭시 코팅재의 표면 열화특성 평가기술)

  • New technologies for water purification are continuously emerging to address global water quality problems, and one such technology involves advanced hermetic water purification facilities made by concrete that utilize ozone treatment processes. Better knowledge about surface deterioration of epoxy coating exposed to ozone treatment is needed as a foundation for development of improved methods and materials in the future. This study utilized atomic force microscopy (AFM), nanoindentation methods, and existing indirect methods such as visual observation, changes in mass, surface observation and chrominance analysis, to evaluate epoxy water-resistance and anti-corrosiveness. This study considered six different epoxy formulations to assess typical degradation characteristics of epoxy surfaces with regard to water-resistance/anti-corrosiveness. AFM and nanoindentation techniques emerged as promising direct methods with potential to provide quantitative measures of surface quality that are improvements upon existing indirect methods. The experiments also confirmed that some of the epoxy-coatings were severely iMPacted by ozone exposure, and thus the results demonstrate that concern about such deterioration is justified.
