Development Trends of Small Unmanned Ground Vehicles in Technology Leading Countries (기술 선도국의 소형 무인 지상 차량 개발 동향)

  • SUGVs (Small Unmanned Ground Vehicles) are being used to conduct dangerous missions, such as EOD (explosive ordinance disposal), counter-terrorism operations, fire extinguishing and fire-fighting reconnaissance, reconnaissance of disaster areas, and surveillance of contact areas. Technology leading countries, the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Israel, have developed and operated various SUGVs for use in the military and civilian fields. The developed system was upgraded further based on additional requirements associated with data collected during the actual operation. The development trends of technology leading countries are an important indicator for the future development of SUGVs. In this study, the development trends and missions of SUGVs operating in the technology leading countries were analyzed. Based on the development trends of SUGVs in these countries, this paper discusses the features and design characteristics needed for the development of SUGVs in future military and civilian domains.

  • This thesis is about how to let people be aware of the importance to raise awareness of the safety by offering User-center guide line instead of staff-center guide line. That's why it is important to make clear and be aware of how to prevent and how to cope with accident because it can lead to casualties which might be a tragic. For all that the guide for the fire accident is posted on the web site of each metro administration without any standard of information or coherence. Therefore it is urgent to make and provide new User-center guideline and to make it better we need to keep the following principles. First of all, the principles of Universal design should be applied to all the User-center guide line for fire accident at the subway station based on the comprehension of public design. Secondly, every metro administration need more communication to organize one coherence in designing instead of unilateral advertisement. Lastly, campaigns and training should be expanded in everyday life, so the citizen can raise awareness of the accident by themselves.

The Effect of Augmented Reality Journalism on Immersion and Information Acquisition in Chinese Disaster and Sports News (AR 뉴스의 특성이 수용자의 몰입도 및 정보습득에 미치는 영향 - 중국의 재해, 스포츠 보도를 중심으로)

  • The application of Augmented Reality(AR) technology is visible in medical procedures, education, marketing, and journalism. By experimenting, this study examines how the evaluation of the three elements of augmented reality news contents(visual image, storytelling, interactivity) affects immersion and information acquisition. Specifically, a 2 (video technology: AR vs. general) × 2 (news type: disaster vs. sports) between-subject design was examined. Results showed that the evaluation of all three elements was higher when viewing AR news than when viewing general news. The level of immersion was higher when viewing AR news, and the evaluation of storytelling and interactivity had positive effect on the level of immersion regardless of the news types. However, the evaluation of visual images did not affect the level of immersion. Information acquisition was higher after viewing AR news, yet the effect of the evaluation of the three elements on information acquisition had not been found. Implication and discussion of the study were added in the end.

Study on Determination of Intention Type for Reasonable Conservation and Use on Baekdudaegan Protection Area (백두대간 보호구역의 권역별 지향성 설정에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, intention type was assigned to determine appropriate conservation and use of the Baekdudaegan Protection Area. To determine intention type, 84 indices were integrated into 7 types: the Natural Environment Protection District, Natural Scenic District, Agriculture and Forestry Promotion District, Living Environment Protection District, Education/Culture/Arts Promotion District, Recreation/Tourism Promotion District, and Disaster Management District. Intention types were decided by comparing the occupying proportion of the intention types for each watershed segment in which the Seoraksan, Taebaeksan, and Sockrisan region boundaries were included. Weight values were applied to each of the seven intention types because each type did not play an equal role in the target regions. Most regions were classified as Natural Environment Protection intention types because the Baekdudaegan area is regulated with strong forestry and environmental protection acts; thus, the weight values related to nature protection were higher than those for other types. To supplement the results from this study, additional research is needed to determine the intention type and weight for each region, and it will also be necessary to integrate sociocultural factors and field survey data.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out what the implications for communication in the Untacted era are through interpretation of works created by researchers for communication and relationship using traditional Hanji materials as a new communication method to cope with the situation of Corona 19. This work uses an in-depth interpretation of the motivations, intentions, and meanings of researchers who are challenged with their experience, knowledge, and intuitive insights. The works and interpretations that were originally exhibited for the purpose of human relations and communication using Hanji materials representing traditional Korean beauty are as follows. First, creative activities that utilize traditional materials for human relations and communication through overcoming the limitations of the untact era, such as Corona 19, are helpful for mutual understanding and finding meaning. Second, the use of traditional materials for the formation of relationships and communication between people in the same ethnicity, language, and space can be a medium for forming a common perception. The findings will provide motivation for the use and expansion of human relationships and communication in disaster situations as basic data.

A model to secure storage space for CCTV video files using YOLO v3

  • In this paper, we propose a CCTV storage space securing model using YOLO v3. CCTV is installed and operated in various parts of society for disasters, disasters and safety such as crime prevention, fire prevention, and monitoring, and the number of CCTV is increasing and the quality of the video quality is improving. Due to this, as the number and size of image files increase, it is difficult to cope with the existing storage space. In order to solve this problem, we propose a model that detects specific objects in CCTV images using YOLO v3 library and deletes unnecessary frames by saving only the corresponding frames, thereby securing storage space by reducing the size of the image file, and thereby Periodic images can be stored and managed. After applying the proposed model, it was confirmed that the average image file size was reduced by 94.9%, and it was confirmed that the storage period was increased by about 20 times compared to before the application of the proposed model.

A Study on the Quality Control Method for Geotechnical Information Using AI (AI를 이용한 지반정보 품질관리 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The geotechnical information constructed in the National Geotechnical Information DB System has been extensively used in design, construction, underground safety management, and disaster assessment. However, it is necessary to refine the geotechnical information because it has nearly 300,000 established cases containing a lot of missing or incorrect information. This research proposes a method for automatic quality control of geotechnical information using a fully connected neural network. Significantly, the anomalies in geotechnical information were detected using a database combining the standard penetration test results and strata information of Seoul. Consequently, the misclassification rate for the verification data is confirmed as 5.4%. Overall, the studied algorithm is expected to detect outliers of geotechnical information effectively.

A Random Walk Model for Estimating Debris Flow Damage Range (랜덤워크 모델을 이용한 토석류 산사태 피해범위 산정기법 제안)

  • This study investigated the damage range of the debris flow to predict the amount of collapsed soil in a landslide event. The height of the collapsed slope and the distance traveled by the collapsed soil were used to predict the total trajectory distance using a random walk model. Debris flow trajectory probabilities were calculated through 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations and were used to calculate the damage range as measured from the landslide scar to its toe. Compiled information on debris flows that occurred in the Cheonwangbong area of Mt. Jirisan was used to test the accuracy of the proposed random walk model in estimating the damage range of debris flow. Results of the comparison reveal that the proposed model shows reasonable accuracy in estimating the damage range of debris flow and that using 10 m × 10 m cells allows the damage range to be reproduced with satisfactory precision.

Application into Assessment of Liquefaction Hazard and Geotechnical Vulnerability During Earthquake with High-Precision Spatial-Ground Model for a City Development Area (도시개발 영역 고정밀 공간지반모델의 지진 시 액상화 재해 및 지반 취약성 평가 활용)

  • This study proposes a methodology for assessing seismic liquefaction hazard by implementing high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) ground models with high-density/high-precision site investigation data acquired in an area of interest, which would be linked to geotechnical numerical analysis tools. It is possible to estimate the vulnerability of earthquake-induced geotechnical phenomena (ground motion amplification, liquefaction, landslide, etc.) and their triggering complex disasters across an area for urban development with several stages of high-density datasets. In this study, the spatial-ground models for city development were built with a 3D high-precision grid of 5 m × 5 m × 1 m by applying geostatistic methods. Finally, after comparing each prediction error, the geotechnical model from the Gaussian sequential simulation is selected to assess earthquake-induced geotechnical hazards. In particular, with seven independent input earthquake motions, liquefaction analysis with finite element analyses and hazard mappings with LPI and LSN are performed reliably based on the spatial geotechnical models in the study area. Furthermore, various phenomena and parameters, including settlement in the city planning area, are assessed in terms of geotechnical vulnerability also based on the high-resolution spatial-ground modeling. This case study on the high-precision 3D ground model-based zonations in the area of interest verifies the usefulness in assessing spatially earthquake-induced hazards and geotechnical vulnerability and their decision-making support.

Estimation for the effect of untreated effluent on river's water quality (환경기초시설 미처리수 방류에 따른 하천 영향 예측)

  • 환경기초시설은 인간의 활동으로 인하여 발생하는 오염물질에 대한 적극적인 대응시설이다. 이는 환경기초시설로 유입되는 오염물의 경우 농도와 양적인 측면에서 부하가 상당히 크다는 것을 알 수 있으며 이러한 오염물질들이 제대로 처리되지 못하면 심각한 환경오염문제를 초래함은 자명한 사실이다. 환경기초시설 중 하폐수처리장은 수계관리에 있어 대표적인 점오염원으로 해당 방류수역의 적절한 수질을 유지하기 위해 하폐수처리장의 방류수는 수질기준을 엄격하게 준수함을 넘어 수질기준보다 훨씬 낮은 수준으로 방류수의 농도를 유지함이 바람직하다. 재난 등으로 인하여 이러한 하폐수처리장의 정상운영에 문제가 발생하였을 때 해당 방류수역에 심각한 영향을 주게 된다. 실제 경주 및 포항지진, 태풍 매미 등 자연재해로 인한 하폐수처리장의 피해가 다수 발생하여 해당 방류수역에 많은 영향을 미쳤을 것으로 추정되나 과거 피해를 입은 환경기초시설의 경우 시설 자체에 대한 피해정도나 복구상황에 대한 조사 및 후속보고는 있었으나 하페수처리장의 기능상실에 따른 해당 수역의 오염정도나 피해에 대한 보고는 없었다. 이는 하폐수처리장의 기능상실이 해당 수역에 미치는 영향을 정확하게 파악하지 못함으로 실질적인 피해 정도를 가늠할 수 없게 만들었을 뿐만 아니라 향후 비슷한 피해가 발생하였을 때 어떠한 대처가 필요한지에 대한 계획수립에 도움을 줄 수 없게 되는 결과를 초래하였다. 본 연구에서는 폐수처리시설이 여러변수에 의해 피해를 입어 정상적인 가동이 어려운 상황이 발생하여 유입수가 처리되지 않고 방류되었을 때 방류수역에 미치는 영향을 모의하였다. 낙동강으로 처리수를 직접 방류하는 달성2차 산업단지 폐수처리장을 대상으로 모의를 진행하였고 모의결과는 하폐수처리장의 미처리수 방류에 있어 가장 중요한 점은 방류수의 수질상태 보다는 유량이었음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 하폐수처리장의 기능상실에 따른 피해정도를 가늠함으로 향후 하폐수처리장의 기능상실에 대처할 수 있는 적절한 대응대책 수립에 기초적인 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
