The purpose of this study is to find out the actual conditions of depression and to explore factors influencing depression of female adults with disabilities by administering Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) to 143 subjects. The subjects were divided into two groups: depression group of scores above 21 of BDI and non-depression group of scores below 20 of BDI. Among the subjects, 36% were found to be on the level of clinically depressed state. Variables such as age, educational level, economic status, monthly income, employment, severity of disability, complexity of disability, health conditions, volunteer activities, family contacts, use of social welfare services marked statistically significant difference between two groups. And Variables such as dysfunctional attitudes, self-esteem, volunteer activities, health conditions were found to be as influencing factors on depression of female adults with disabilities. Some social work practice implications were discussed.

This study aims to analyze the mediating effect of disability level on the relationship between economic activity participation and life satisfaction level of middle-age and older women with disabilities. The survey respondents were 4,961 women with disabilities aged from 45 to 65 who participated in one of the first series of the PSED(2nd to 8th). Results of the analysis showed the economic activities of middle-aged and older women with disabilities and level of disability were correlated with a statistical significance in the analysis phase 1 and 2, and economic activity participation affected life satisfaction level through the level of disability as a parameter, indicating that a mediating effect does exist. This study suggests that to enhance the life satisfaction level of middle-aged and older women with disabilities through participation in economic activities, an employment scheme based on their level of disability is necessary.

This study was conducted to verify the impact of social capital on labor market entry for poor and disabled women and to reveal the relationship. In the case of poverty-stricken and disabled women, the reality is that there is very little research on the impact on labor market entry depending on the level and type of social capital that disabled women possess or are involved in for economic activities. Therefore, in this study, we looked at how the level and type of social capital possessed by poor and disabled women affects their entry into the labor market. As a result of the study, the level of social capital of poor and disabled women is larger and the stronger the density, the more labor market they have. It was found to have a very significant impact on market entry, and in terms of social capital type, greater trust and participation were found to have a very significant impact on labor market entry. Based on these research results, major policy implications were suggested regarding the impact of the level and type of social capital of poor and disabled women on their entry into the labor market.

혹자는 '여성에게도 성기능장애가 있나?'라고 되물을 수도 있다. 왜냐하면 여성이 성기능장애 때문에 성행위를 못했다는 애기를 별 들어본 적이 없기 때문일 것이다. 혹 어떤 이유로 아파서 못할 수는 있겠지만, 아니 어쩌면 상대가 아파해도 무리하게 성관계를 해본 남성이라면 더 더욱이 고개를 갸우뚱거릴 것이라고 생각된다. 쉽게 얘기해서 남성도 조루가 있는 사람이 성관계 자체에는 별 문제가 없지만 성적 만족도가 떨어지기 때문에 의료인의 도움을 청하는 경우와 유사하다고 이해하면 되겠다. 여성은 성기능에 문제가 있어도 성행위가 가능은 하지만 매 성행위마다 별로 성적 중족감을 느끼지 못한다면 무언가 문제가 있지 않을까?

This research seeks to clarify correlationship between satisfaction of visually impaired, hearing impaired and mentally disabled mothers and their burden of raising their children and whether communication between their children mediates their relationship. This research tries to set a standard performing method to alleviate burden of raising children and devise an effective parenting method. The study was done in cooperation with 13 welfare centers for the disabled in the Seoul area, 23 and performed 300 questionnaires were distributed. Hearing impaired person had answered by themselves, and visually impaired were provided with disability aid, by reading the questionnaire to them. 210 responses were collected, and 187 were used for final analysis. Analysis showed that burden of fostering showed a negative correlation between satisfaction as a mother and availability for communication. Moreover, communication with the children were shown to mediate the satisfaction as a parent and burden of raising the children. Thus, the goal is to reduce the burden of fostering for female disabled and increase their satisfaction as a parent as well as enhancing their communicational skills.

During the past decade, interest in and knowledge of eating disorders have increased in the medical, social science, and popular literature. Despite this advance in this field, eating disorders in males have received relatively little attention in the literature. However, in recent years, there has been increased awareness that eating disorders occurs in males, as well as females, although research and theoretical discussions concerning this subgroup still remain scare. In this review, the author highlights the clinical characteristics that distinguish male patients with eating disorders from their female counterparts. The identification of such characteristics will improve diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders in males and may increase our understanding of processes that are specific to eating disorders in both sexes.

The purpose of this study was to investigate current situation of employment and factors affecting the job maintenance of women with disabilities. The second Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED) and the third PSED are used to investigate current situation of employment and factors affecting the job maintenance of women with disabilities. We analysed whether women with disability who were employed in the second PSED maintain employment in the third PSED. The results showed that women with disabilities had lower wages(p<.001) and higher non-regular work(p<.001) than men with disabilities. Also, women with disabilities experienced more consideration of job(p<.05) and working time(p<.001) than men with disabilities. The job stability among job satisfactions of women with disabilities was higher than men with disabilities. The factors affecting the job maintenance of women with disabilities were health status(p<.05), wages(p<.05), consideration of job(p<.05).This study suggested that the health status, wages, consideration of job were needed to consider when establishing employment policy for women with disabilities.

This study was to identify major determinants on the reemployment of disabled women. The researcher performed a logistic multiple regression analysis of raw data from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED) from 2008(1st) to 2014(7th). The analysis focused on 744 disabled women in reemployed and unemployed status. The study results showed that recipient status of the National Basic Livelihood Security System, the extent of disability, physical health condition, certification status, and the experience of previous employment were positively related with reemployment of disabled women. That is to say, disabled women have a higher tendency to be reemployed under the following circumstances: no recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security System, minor disabilities, good health condition, possession of certification, and previous experience of employment. On the basis of study findings, implications were discussed such as a phase-in of health promotion policy to improve their health status, tailored job training programs, and development of various jobs in current labour market.

This study aims to examine the effect of discrimination experience on job satisfaction among working women with disabilities, focusing on meditating effect of self-esteem. To this end, the data from the 8th year of the employment panel of disabled population surveyed by the EDI; Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled was used for the study. The data collected from 549 working women of disabilities from EDI was analysed by using the path analysis. The findings are as follows: first, discrimination experience of working women with disabilities had a significantly negative effect of their job satisfaction. Second, self-esteem presented the mediating effect between discrimination experience and job satisfaction. Based on the results, this study proposed various programs to increase job satisfaction by enhancing self-esteem in situations where the experience of discrimination among women with disabilities is high and suggested practical implications to increase job satisfaction of working women with disabilities.
